Cache check confirmed this one is gone, replacement cache being prepared.

01-Feb-09
Nowhere to be found. I think it's gone.

25-Jan-09
Even with local knowledge we searched for some time but the culpret could not be found. Checking the logs we see we are not alone.

18-Dec-08
At least half an hour I was searching. I even used the additional hint. But I found nothing Sad Is it still there? The one searching before me had also no success...

06-Dec-08
Looked for this cache for about half an hour without luck. Spent time digging amongst cigarette butts without any success. Based on recent entries as well as our own experience, wondering if this cache hasn't been muggled. Anywho, thanks for providing the cache. Team Below Par (from Arizona, USA)

17-Nov-08
Reception was non existant though we just happened to stumble across GZ, in the dark it was a bit hard to find and digging around in everyones cigarette butts wasn't really my idea of a good time so we gave up and moved on.

Will no doubt try again at some point Smile

#601... Found with skyejam, nice and quite on Sunday early morning and very few muggles... Smile Thanks for organised the hunt.

10-Nov-08
We circled and circled, bought fruit from a nearby vendor, sat and ate them and circled again, and there it was, how did we miss it? Nice spot. TFTC.

What better thing to do before you got on a course in the city at your head office? Go Geocaching, that's what!

Nice simple straight forward cache. Timed it nicely with the Muggles. Nice one. TFTC.

05-Nov-08
A bit of a bother. The GPS had me in a completely different crossroads about a block away. Gave up and went on to the next cache, and passed the seating arrangement in the clue. A quick and easy search found the cache. Impossible without the clue and a bit of luck.

02-Nov-08
Found 09:55, nice eand quite on Sunday morning, but the profusion of ciggy butts at GZ suggest that on weekday this would not be an easy find.

TNLN, CSI=2, thanks (Mrs) Cache On Demand.

Cache #5 of my very early morning raid. Needed a rest by this time and found the perfect spot. TFTC

26-Oct-08
GPS signal very bouncy but the description was good -- figured that just had to be the spot and it was. Our first cache in OZ as we walked down to Circular Quay. TFTC.

22-Oct-08
For some reason I love urban caches. So many people walking by don't even know it's there. Thanks for the cache, interesting read on the square.

17-Oct-08
We nearly missed this cache...

We where heading for the Ferry to go to the Zoo and we thought we would do a quick cache... But the GPS lead us up the wrong street and when we looked back up the hill we thought maybe on the way home.

That afternoon we walked by to see two or three weddings having their photos taken... It looks like a very popular place for the odd photo.

That didnt stop our detective work... We where checking here and there and then I had a flash... Why not stand in the middle of the road and get a good reading on the GPS...

Well it worked and the cache was in our hands in no time...

Thanks for the cool cache..

655 - A work trip to Sydney and a lunchtime enabled me to locate a couple of newish caches.

A wander through the CBD led me to this one - avoiding the muggles it was a pretty easy grab, sign and replace.

Those buildings make a sat lock hard enough but then that storm came through! Nice to get a cache that you have half a chance of and even some work to find it is rewarded. Thanks (Mrs) Cache on Demand

There must have been a muggle convention on at GZ billions of the things, I am sure they were interfering with the GPS reception. Had to read the hint to find this one.
Thanks for the history it is always great when you can learn something and cache at the same time.

This was a great site for a cache although the millions of cigarette butts were a bit of a turn-off. Lots of muggles about even for a Sunday afternoon.

The reception in the city is so BAD, I'm not use to such poor signal.. I had a look and there is was, nice easy and quick.
Thanks

I thought that after three years going past this one every day on the way to work and back I should make an effort to find it. Had taken a brief look a couple of times before but was put off by the number of people in the vicinity. Passing by on a cold, dark rainy evening was a good oportunity to have a quick search and find it once and for all.

B-Team find while in Sydney on a short visit. This was the last for the day and almost not attempted due the nearby escapades of local skateboarders. In the end, they turned out not to be the problem, but some guy who had all sorts of trouble trying to master the parking meter. The story had a happy ending for all concerned. TNLN Good Luck!

Our Second day while here on holiday from New Zealand and really enjoying finding our way around by caching. It is a definately underated as a must for when on holiday! We saw so many places we wouldnt normally have looked at and walked for kilometeres every day. We managed 21 finds and 6 DNFs while here for 5 days as well as managing to do all the touristy things like Paddys Market, the Museums and even the tour to the Blue Mountains. Thank you Sydney cache setters we really appreciate you. The log was pretty wet and we dried it out as much we could and wrapped the log in tissue paper in the hope that it would help to dry it out more. In NZ we always have spares(container had unfortunatly rusted too much allowing the water in) of things to help out distressed caches but alas not while here. TNLNSLTFTC.

The Urban Assault Team had a seat, and a bit of a grope in the dark, and the cache was extracted.
The log was passed around and the cache returned before anyone became suspicious.
(The log sheet was wet and in need of replacement.)

Thanks (Mrs) Cache On Demand.

17-Nov-07
On the way here, a certain member of the urban assault team managed to scare a couple of tourists by asking if they were lost. apparently they didn't think that 5 blokes holding weird looking devices knew where they were???

Once at GZ we all took a seat, and started the search. by luck i sat closest and came up with the goods. Cache needs an urgent new log book, as it is barely able to be written on

Whilst the others signed the log, a couple of us had the great oppertunity of watching the passing night traffic. we all agreed that the legs didnt go up much further than what we could easily see. something about a giraffe was also mentioned, but we cant repeat that one here. ahh the sights of sydney

Too many Taxis and no one else within cooee to hide behind. One of many DNFs for me while in Sydney, most due to muggles, the challenge of CBD caching I guess Smile

Thanks for this cache! left nothing, took nothing but wrote in the log. GPS no good in the city, so clues were a big help.

23-Oct-07
Discovered this one on my way from a conference back to the city office. The clue was a help as the GPSr (even a Garmin 60CSX) was straying in the city environment. Foudn it in a minute and logged it easily. Nice hide - reminds me of one in Christchurch.

There were muggles in the middle of a photo shoot so I randomly sat down ready to have a look around and there it was right next to me.

Out: $2 Canadian

Once I found the right city block it was easy. There is a place down on Phillip Street about 200m away that closely (but not quite) resembles the hint, and the GPS consistently took me there. Once I found the spot it was easy.
Nothing as exciting as a chopper landing on the street today but lots of muggles pouring out of the buildings at knock-off time. I am constantly amazed how much you can get away with in the middle of a crowd. People mostly don't give you a second glance in the city. It's when you're a lone figure lurking in a park or something that you really stand out. TFTC.

I had a crack at this one on the Labour Day Public Holiday, working under the theory that it would be a nice quiet area outside business hours.

Just my luck - There was some sort of action movie being shot right at GZ!!! As I arrived a helicopter was landing right in the middle of the road - I've uploaded some pics.

I managed to get into the area and do some searching while I checked out what was happening, but in the end I was spotted and a cop moved me on Big Grin

It turns out that they were shooting a Korean commercial!

I'll have another go sometime soon. Smile

This was my second attempt at this cache. On the first occasion, I was thwarted by muggles mainly, but GPS reception didn't help. Tonight, the GPS was again no help, but with muggle activity limited, I was soon able to grab the cache. After logging my find, it was quickly back in place and I was on my way. Thanks for the cache and for the history lesson.

Originally thought that Thinktank was here because of the presence of security cameras, but we returned to GZ 20 minutes later, realising there was another cache in this area. Found this cache easily, with the assistance of the hint. GPS reception here was negligble. TFTC.

29-Jul-07
We actually came across this spot while looking for Think Tank as it was one of the few areas we could get a decent GPS signal on the day. After solving that one we realised there was one here so we wandered back and found it.
