#20996. Day 5 of a short holiday over the border in NSW with Robmc and the geodoggies. Now at Temora for 2 nights. The forecast for today was dreadful and indeed we awoke to wet surrounds and grey skies. To our surprise we soon had blue skies and sunshine, but it did remain very windy. Staying out at the airport and hoping to see some action in the skies.
Have never been to Temora before and an amazed that it is such a huge town with so many great old buildings and grand churches.
First find for the morning on the way to the lake. Contentys of this micro container are wet and thanks to SueDan83 for leaving a new, small waterproof sheet for us to add our names to. A CO check would be welcomed on this one.
Thanks Team Horizons

We decided to leave Wagga earlier than planned, was not happy with the showgrounds, So Mrs Snakepitter decied on Temora. What a great plan. Arrived at the free camp, setup, then got the bikes down off the bike rack and had a ride around town and up to the lake. Did a few Klm, and nearly got through before the drizzle came.

Headed away for a bit of a post lockdown trip to central west NSW. My main goal for the trip was to find GC2F6F (2001 cache), but as always I couldn't drive past as if it wasn't there. This was one of the many caches I found on my road trip.
What a great complex for the locals and sporting buffs
Thanks to the CO's for hiding your cache and contributing in a small way to the fun I had.

Easy little park and grab. The cache is in good condition, signed and replaced. Thanks for placing the cache
A short walk from where we parked and then a straight forward find in a logical place.
Our first day in Temora started with a bit of nostalgia for Mrs Ski. When she was a child her granddad used to have horses. Some were for the kids, pony club, showing and eventing, a few were racehorses and a few were trotters. As her grandad did most of the training, seeing the blokes out this morning in the jinkers and putting the pacers thru their laps brought back many memories. Temora is a lovely little town, and after finding as many caches as we could we enjoyed a stroll around town looking at all the grand old buildings, and then had lunch in one of the many little cafes. The locals were happy to yarn and share some stories with us.
We’ve had an enjoyable stay here and would like to say thank# to the CO’s who’ve put out a variety of cache types for us to find, and shown us some of the highlights of the area. We intend to come back and revisit.

Out for a drive with Smittengranny and sol de lune. Main aim for the day was the community event in Temora. Popped over to grab this one whilst we were at the awesome community event So great to be back out this way and some great company for the adventure.
Couldn't miss a CCE by JohnoMawbs as he makes such an effort to come to the Canberra regoin on a regular basis. So fitzy_1965 & I teamed up with albida33 and kittykatch for a great day of caching.
After finishing the 'Different' puzzles, we had a bit of time up our sleeves so headed back into Temora for a few quick cache finds.
Quick find here today.

Found after attending the local CCE today. Quick find and what a lovely area to come to. TFTC.
Found on a trip around central New South Wales with e.gregory1. Our original plans were to travel through Bourke, Cunamulla and Toowoomba to attend the Dayboro event in Queensland and return via Port Macquarie and central NSW, but a series of events that included road closures due to flooding in southern inland Queensland, a covid outbreak in Brisbane and widespread storm damage and road closures along the north coast of NSW resulted in multiple changes of plans during the trip. As it eventuated our travels took us to central New South Wales, on a route from Broken Hill to Cobar, Nyngan, and Gunnedah from where we meandered southwards through some great scenery and historic towns that included Dunedoo, Wellington, Cowra and Yass. We then headed in a roughly westerly direction through to Temora, Wagga Wagga, Deniliquin and Swan Hill before making a final dash for home. All up we found a good mix of Traditionals, Puzzle Caches, Multicaches, Adventure Labs, Wherigos, Earthcaches, Letterbox Hybrids and Virtual Caches on a very entertaining and enjoyable trip. Thanks for the cache Team Horizons!
Found on a trip around inland NSW with FeatherWaite.
Our original intention was to attend the Mega event at Dayboro in Queensland, travelling up via Broken Hill, Bourke, Cunamulla and Toowoomba, then home via the NSW coast to Port Macquarie then on to Adelaide via central NSW. However, the Covid outbreak in Brisbane forced us to reconsider, particularly given that the Mega and associated events were within the area of concern and we may have had difficulty re-entering NSW to get home and then would have had to quarantine back in SA for 14 days.
The floods in the north and east of NSW also hampered our travel plans. But we were able to develop a new plan that took us on a very pleasant tour around country NSW, picking up some interesting caches along the way.
Thanks Team Horizons for the cache.

Day 2 of our trip from western Vic to the Dayboro mega. We spent last night at the free camp behind the Grong Grong pub (supporting the locals by buying dinner there too), and planned to get to Wellington today via Grenfell. We enjoyed a fantastic brekky at a cafe in Ardlethan and met new friends before heading this way. However it was in Barmedman where our plans went pear shaped, as they closed the Mary Gilmour Way 20 minutes before we got here, due to road damage from the floods. We tried another road but got 10km before the water turned us back to Barmedman. We ended up back at Temora before being able to get back on track via Young, because all other roads were closed.
We stopped at this lake for lunch and contemplated doing the lake walk, but it looked like one section was completely under water, so will leave this for another day. This cache, however, was found nice and dry in good condition.
TFTC Team Horizons and for keeping this old cache going.

Sorry it has taken us so long to log this cache. Someone misplaced our notes.
We were pleased to find this cache still available as there was a lot of water laying around the area. Thank you for the cache.

We got re-routed due to the flood waters so took the opportunity to grab a cache that was close to the road. Lots of water so we will see what happens. Thanks for the cache.
A nice stop on our journey across the country from Adelaide to Brisbane with Davidwazza! TFTC!
Moving from Adelaide to Brisbane, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I decided to drive the long distance to make the opportunity a holiday, taking 12 days and passing through Victoria, New South Wales, and then finally arriving in Queensland. We spent the first few days in SA's Riverland, visiting Morgan, Berri and Renmark; and then drove through Mildura in Victoria. In NSW, we stopped at Hay, Parkes, Merriwa, Tamworth, Port Macquarie, and Coffs Harbour, and then entered Qld to stop for a night in Robina in the Gold Coast.
Today, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I travelled from Hay to Parkes. We travelled east via Griffith, Yenda, Barellan, Ardlethan, and Temora where we stopped for lunch. We then spent the early afternoon completing the two Adventure Labs around the town and lake, and then headed north and north-east via Barmedman, Forbes, and arriving in Parkes in the late evening. Several of NSW's LGAs were visited during our travels today.
We jogged from the nearby lake entrance, arriving at GZ and started to search around. I was beginning to think it may be missing, until finding the cache about 6 m from where the posted coordinates required me. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Team Horizons for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

Cheeky little spot. Nearly as cheeky as swapping large chips for potato and gravy at your local KFC restaurant
After finishing our stroll around the lake a quick detour up the path and a quick find and sign. Tftc
Wow the number of 2005 caches that are still in Temora is quite incredible! Well done to the CO's and / or the community for keeping them alive! Especially Team Horizons for placing!
This was another one on my list I was excited to grab, I parked right near it and wandered over for a quick find, before heading into the Lake Reserve. Another area which has obviously changed drastically since this caches placement!
Many thanks!

Got to love caching trips! On the way to South Australia with a few friends to pick up some nice caches. With a small team consisting of KittyKatch, Joolay & Barb2e along with Tankengine and I we had a great second day of the trip. So many interesting places and some great caching too.
This cache: We got up early for breakfast and failed at the first cache we looked for this morning, so it was nice to be able to find this one without any issues. Then it was off in to the Lake for the AL and other caches around the place. Tftc Team Horizons!!!
