It's been 15 months since anyone genuinely found this cache. Lots of no-finds and maintenance requests in the meantime. Frustrating that it keeps turning up in the requested cache downloads.
Found bottle with note in it saying cache missing. Wrote a log on the piece of paper, but in hind site will not claim as found. Another DNF to the list.
Didn't find the real cache, but did find the bottle. Will claim it as a found, but would be great if the original cache will be replaced.
Great walk, nice view. Dogs loved it too.

Hadn't had a chance to read recent updates . I also found the corona bottle stating cache is missing with note from Dynamitestick.
Found location with corona bottle stating cache is missing and bottle was a "dynamite stick" with log date 25/12/10.
Searched the area completly high and low but to no avail, Left the bottle there with note stating the cache is missing or in the wrong place?
Enjoyable walk along the walkway to GZ, somewhere we hadn't been before. Cache was a little exposed but not anymore T4TC.
Nice spot. Geocoin AWOL. This cache is frustratingly close to a few others. If only I had a Kayak! Ran out of time to drive to the others.
What a great walk to this fantastic area.
Really enjoyed the walk, it was a misty morning so even looked better over looking the water.
Certainly a good place for a cache.
Didn't find any GC in the cache and noted the last find had been a family that accidentally stumbled over this cache as stated in the logbook.

Hello there from Australia - could the next finder please move on my coin? Thanks!!
What an incredible place for a cache. Make sure you find the 2 memorial stones on the way through, just by a bench seat overlooking the water. On the left as you go in to the cache.
Was an easy find with the use of the clue. Walk on past the cache to the Boat Ramp and picnic table (and public toilets)
Tookout geocoin EVYYH8 and TB Hamewilldame. Put in Jandal keyring and Winglens Wandering Emu.

Found this one before christmas and dropped of the geocoin but with all the chaos of the holidays forgot to log it so I will just have to take a guess as to what date it was exactly that we dropped the coin off here. It was a nice walk along the cliff top was surprised to come across the memorial stones along the way easy find. TFTC.
We enjoyed the walk along the clifftop to the cache. Lots of miniature wild freesias flowering at present. Nice easy find at GZ. Thanks for bringing us on this lovely walk.

Lovely walk - we nver have gone down that path without being directed there - wonderful views and a lovely place to visit - thank you so much for taking the time to set up the cache.
Took the Sergeant's stripes and left a Fender plectrum.
BTW it's Ronald Avenue not Ronald Road.
Thanks ever-so

1.00pm. Took the upper track all the way from the beach. This looked the more interesting and the tide was pretty full anyway. Thought the bird houses great. Most attractive walk among the pohutukawas and pines. Picked up a bag of pinecones on the return. Cache was found in a logical place. All in good order.

Wow! A beautiful day to undertake this one. We found it hard to get up the hill due to being so unfit, but in the end we managed to find the cache. Great hiding place. We were gutted to spot a perfect parking place mere yards away from GZ but had to make the huge walk back to where we left the car
Thanks for a great cache and fabulous day out!

Having descended to the oyster shell route, we soon found not wearing grippy footwear was a huge mistake! Getting to the spot where we had to climb up proved to be something like skating on ice, accompanied with many yells of, "Woah!" and "Help me!". Even Hopeful #3 had some problems, despite having 4 legs!
Eventually, our effors were rewarded with many rainbow sightings and the cache. Hopeful #3 generously offered to trade her mud-caked tennis ball (see R&R's pics), but we had to convince her that it just wasn't going to fit in the cache.

Today, we went caching in the "far southwest" of Auckland together with the 2 Hopefuls.
This beach should be called "Engine beach". We found three rusty engine corpses lying around. Strange. On our way to the cache we encountered several problems:
1. We went along the beach and had to climb up in the end.
2. Some parts of the beach are either slippery or very muddy (didn't the description say exactly that?)
3. We got caught in a nice little but heavy downpour - resulting in an amazing rainbow.
4. We had parked way too far away from GZ.
But overall we enjoyed this stroll in the evening with the clouds in the West turning more and more reddish.
Left: All American GC

Took a while to find the correct start of the track. Then noticed the bird houses so realised we were in the right place after all - doh!
Lovely walk along the cliff, admiring the baches and large trees. No problems finding cache, in fact 6 year old son made the find to his delight!

Wasn't sure which way to approach this one but quick re-read of the description and found I was already parked at the exact right spot next to the bird houses which I didn't spot initially. A nice wee walk on a mild day and no issues finding the cache.

Starting from the far end on the beach, we really enjoyed our stroll (apart from the fierce wind), taking the high route to the cache. Plenty of character in this locality. TNLN, cheers!
Decided to do this one today with my young son while down the road visiting friends. In fact, the whole time that we were visiting, my little one was asking all the time to 'go and find the treasure!'. So then had to explain geocaching to our friends!
Neat walk along the track - cool birdhouses! Wish I had remembered to take my camera! Didn't actually realise how much of a settlement there is at the beach!
Found quickly. TNLNSL. TFTC

#269 Quick find. Took the low tide route to cache site, and returned to car via upper track. Great views. Pity that some idiot tried to burn down a large tree near GZ.

Third successful find of the day. Had a lovely picnic at the beach and then wandered round and up and past all the partly burnt trees! (who would do that damage!!). Loved the bird houses!
Found with BFR, was the 8th find for the day.
Had a little problem sorting out where to start, always a problem trying to find the closest spot to leave car.
Ended up walking down Cliff Rd and then down the walkway.
Found cache rather quickly once at GZ.
A nice walk and area, cheers for bring us here

A little problem.... a little problem.... 200m of a problem hrmph oh well was a good walk and a lovely area.
This cache must have been feeling a bit lonely it has been a while since it has been logged.
I took the quick and easy approach as rain was threatening
I was solo as other, chicken hearted, family members stayed in the car.
Just as I grabbed the cache the rain started so I rushed to fill in the log the before it got wet, and then I ran for the car.
We were several kms down the road when I realised the GPSr was missing so back I went. Luckily my precious was recovered with out further incident.

Easy little find in the obvious place! Came via the cliff top route as the tide was in. TFTC
Took the coastal route - very slippery and very sharp oyster shells. Cliff top a doddle by comparison. Left TB took key ring. TFTC
A very nice wee spot, walked along clifftop and walked straight past the point, there are quite a few of the encrypted hints. Exchanged braclet for sewing kit.
Well, we managed this cache without the scramble up the cliff! Sheer fluke that we parked somewhere other than the recommendation. Spied the likely hidey hole quickly, and easy find.
In - butterfly peg, Out - Lamb chop TB (planned to grabb this one when in Kawhia, but was beaten to it by mate Zorgon!) Great views here, and bonus of watching a youngster on his go-kart in nearby park. Thanks.

This is a beach settlement that appears to be frozen in time the way many beach places used to look before the developers moved in.
Must learn to read the instructions though! We walked around the rocks from the boat ramp at highish tide which was a challenge to do without getting wet then scaled a decent cliff near the cache. Would have been nice and easy if we had just followed the instructions. Good fun anyway! Thanks

Out and about on Xena.. Commanderling No 1 (Daughter Dale) riding pillion with Technokitten on her own bike this time.. This was our reason to come over this way...
I wanted another chance to find this cache.
Parked our bikes near the bird town... walked around cliff tops.. nice cool wind blowing. GPS honed in again and pointed directly at "WRONG" spot.. but TK had decided to look where she looked before but this time found it ok. Yaay!!!
Girls delved into treasures...
I TNLN... Glad to find it..
Time to head home.
TFTC cj.trex we seem to be focusing on your caches today. Will have to come back and fetch the one we missed. Te Toro.

Hunting with Xenacommander enjoyed the walk in a reserve never visited despite much cycling in the area. The joy of geocaching is being introduced to places we would never have discovered any other way.

Visited at 15:25 hrs. Tide was in and the walk was quite pleasant. Took Shrek TB. LN.
Followed the Rd as suggested in the cache page and parked near the birdhouses.
Nice little walk-hard to see where the beach access was from up the top of the track.
Cache easy find at GZ.

Geees - I must have been having an off day last time, or maybe I was being punished for not working hard for my find. I did the paddle again from Kaitarakihi - and I'm stuffed! Not enough exercise over the winter I guess. Glad to find the cache easily accessible from the boat ramp. The river is looking stunning today - great day for kayaking.

I usually kayak to one's in this area (although this one might just be at my limit from Titi's), but was in the neighbourhood by car so had to drop by. Found a very typical location but no luck finding the cache. Will have to try again sometime. Nice walk though.
