Nice coastal walk with a smiley face at the end. #2397 - Dec 2, 2024TFTC pprass
We're here for a few days anchored just up the river. Headed into town this morning with our non-caching friend for a walk along the coastal walkway. We managed to find all the clues to this without annoying him too much and then made a little run back to grab and sign the cache before heading down to the lighthouse. Unfortunately the lighthouse was closed when we got there, but it was a beautiful walk.
We did the coastal walk today answering questions along the way. Pretty quick find and interesting history of the port!
Another mini road trip from Queensland. This time with one of my teen-muggle, so fewer geocaches this time. Bringing our geomobile home. Fourth and last day, heading south from Port Macquarie. One of several finds along this coast, including one since replaced by a proactive CO after a bluey last month. Teen chilling out in our geomobile listening to music. And social media .TFTC pprass for resolving the muggled cache last month, with a nearby new location. Glad to complete my multi find here with a favourite point given.
Cache has indeed disappeared and it looks like some locals have been setting up a viewing station just metres from the original cache.Moved a few metres back and updated the formula for the new co-ords. Please be mindful of how the cache is replaced to ensure it is not visible to muggles.
Day 3 of my fortnight+ road trip up to Brisbane and back to Blue Mountains. Early morning search was hampered by some campers near the calculated GZ. Hint helpful yet not . Could search for ten minutes only before calling it off. Ah well.
Looks like theres been some partying at what I think is GZCouldnt locate a cache but sis find a lid which may be its smuggled remains?
Found with nissan65 on a quick trip to town. Log very but able to sign. Photo sent to CO. Thanks for your contribution to geo caching
I solved the final for this a while back but never got the chance to head to GZ.I took the heavy steel hire e-bike down the stairs to GZ. At GZ, I couldnt find it. I ended up using ever increasing circles and successfully finding the cache. In Port Macquarie again, this time for a week. A few new caches have appeared since last time I was here and quite a few I missed.pprass, I found Tour of Port today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.
Thanks for this multi pprass. Forgot to log this in Oct last year. Just remembered. Signed log but not online. Better late than never.
one of the waypoints for this multi was about forty odd metres from where i was camped while in town, at least so i thought, so many a time i strolled over for a headscratch.eventually sent a paf to the co, who corrected my wrong coords and then the shipwreck was finally discovered very quickly. the rest of the multi's waypoints were duly visited and calculated and the epic final was discovered on another different day again. funny to think i was so close to the gz secret spot so many times, completely oblivious. the final gz deserves a favourite point alone, let alone the other great locations. one time in passing i even encountered a gigantic monitor lizard guarding the gz entrance. gasp.fun fact, this is just the fourth time i've ever come across a cache hidden in november 2005. a long time ago.thank you so much pprass for creating this iconic port multi and keeping it kicking for so many years.a random non spoiler photo to celebrate.
Day 12. A last minute plan had been hatched to make my way to QOGM. Very little planning had been done but a very rough outline was in place and it was going to be a day by day trip.An overnight stay in Port Macquarie and it was on towards Coffs Harbour.I was meant to have left Port Macquarie by now, but I was offered a very generous opportunity to tour some local caches with the CO. How could I refuse - time can be made up elsewhere! This was another great spot for a view. I have visited a few of these waypoints already earlier in the day so a return to the area to gather the final location and enjoy the view was well worth it.Thanks pprass for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Are you planning a trip to Victoria? Check out some of these caches on the nominees list for the 2022 Victorian Cache of the Year Awards. The shortlist is available [here](https://coord.info/BMC8QYR)
After a mistake with one of my answers I doubled back to check them. Lucky my first one was out and I didn’t need to check them all. Darkness was quickly approaching after 15min in the bush searching for the treasure I gave up my search for the night. I returned the next morning and found it straight away. My GPS had me off by a few metres but you can definitely find it from the clearing and don’t need to go into the bushes.
A beautiful view to finish a nice walk thru Port. TFTC, I really enjoyed it.

Cache moved 25 metres north as it was too close to another cache. It's now at an even better location for the view.

I'm sorry, but your recent move has brought your cache too close to a Physical Waypoint of [GC2Q76E: TRIA](http://coord.info/GC2Q76E) and will need to be moved. Please read the following item on [Cache Saturation](https://www.geocaching.com/play/guidelines?expand=1#cachesaturation)
I've disabled this listing for the time being, could you please move it to a new location that fits within the saturation guidelines. Once that is done you may enable the cache.

After 17.75 years I have updated the cache page, changed the co-ords slightly, changed the formula accordingly, put in a check-sum, and replaced the cache container and log book.
That soaked up an afternoon nicely. The coords provided for each location are spot on and the final calculations were good also. We noticed on the way back that we were already at at least one traditional cache so stopped again for another smiley. I was surprised to see we were the first people to find this this year.
Thanks for the effort put into creating this one.

This was the first cache I attempted on a visit to Port Macquarie and the second to last cache found before leaving as it took a fair bit of walking to visit all waypoints so it was split over two walks.
The walk(walks) was(were) very enjoyable though, and took us on the promised tour of Port and its coastline. The first part was done mostly during sunny weather with many other walkers about, especially along the foreshore, and the final part we got a lot wetter, making signing difficult after I dropped my Biro onto wet ground managed an imprint on onwards we went.
Thanks to pprass for setting this one up and showing us around town, so to speak. Even if it was a quick visit️

I had the coordinates when I went to the final GZ yesterday, but all around the area, my phone kept on telling me that I was 4m from the cache. I spent about 30 fruitless minutes before giving up. Today I went with my trusty Garmin and found it immediately.

Finally found it, thanks to my geo hubby who did the correct calculations. Now I know how to do calculations like that for a multi. Fantastic views, so happy. Fav for a great multi, loved it TFTC
This one was a real teamwork cash I've been teaching in Port Mac for a few days. My wife did the donkey work following all the way points, but couldn't quite work out how to get to the cache. So I chipped in doing the simple maths, and then help find the geocache. what a spectacular place to bring us to thank you.
We also had an interesting discussion with a lady who was also in the bushes, I thought she might be geocaching but actually she was looking for and taking photos of spiders. She told us about this jumping spider sounded interesting, but my wife was very happy that we didn't run into any!!!
Sat for a while enjoying the Spectacular views.
Thanks for maintaining the cache

After a day of not being able to find it, i came back later with a fresh mind and got it within 15 min. great find
Found 3:29 pm with fiancée. We are in Port Macquarie for short holiday as well as business and of course I had to do a bit of caching. This one started because of being in the starting point an deciding to do it given most standard caches have now been done nearby. So after getting the required details from each spot discovered where GZ was and sorted that out fairly quickly.
The geocache was a fairly quick find at GZ.
Now to do a bit more whilst here in Port and Flynn’s Beach.
Thanks for the cache.

Found with geopartner Wollaston while staying in Port, enjoying caching as our tour guide as we are discovering so many more spots. Five more ticked off today!

On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird. I’ll leave the more interesting & detailed log to Mrs Geo (aka: SeasonedBird, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird, Angry Bird & occasionally even Love Bird) because she writes so much more eloquently than I and usually has much more time to do so while I’m driving. It’s a great day for caching. TFTC pprass

Our time (and energy) was running out after a full and eventful day in this beautiful town. We found the first stage by foot and then decided to attempt the rest by car. We really enjoyed stopping at all the beautiful locations. I had a little bit of a problem with the maths, but a bit of help from the CO helped us in the right direction (for which we were very grateful). Thanks for this fun adventure. FP awarded.

An excellent tour of Port, even at night. Found myself in uncertain territory when searching at the final coords as it was night, but I fortunately made a quick find.

Replaced container and contents - looks like a rodent had a few nibbles on the edge of the lid which was enough to allow water to enter.
Found today with my dad on an afternoon cache drive, after searching yesterday to no cache, we decided to come back today. We searched for a while, before calling the CO and getting a coord check, oh, its down there. after walking down and following a little track, we made a quick find at GZ!

I think we gathered the first clues for this cache in 2019.... gradually chipped away over the years - so much for 40 minutes! Still managed to get something wrong, as our coordinates were way off - so after scratching around in some unlikely spots, we finally phoned the CO for a hint, and a coord check - that's why we couldn't find it!
With better coords, in the rain, we found a little track right to GZ, and a quick search had the cache, which was unfortunately broken, but soon to be fixed.... Thanks for a fun cache pprass!

This cache has been on the todo list for along time, as we had some of that today, it was the day to give it ago.
The day was a little damp and cool ,but we enjoyed the Tour and challenge of this cache.
Thanks pprass, nice outlook from GZ

Convinced my partner to do this multi-cache with me, promised her that it would take us to some great locations throughout Port Macquarie and we weren't disappointed! Absolutely top multi! If you want a cache that takes you to some of the best locations around town then this is it
We eventually got to near GZ, but the walk to the cache seemed to be closed..... the cache was only about 30 metres straight down though, So I bit the bullet and went through the bush instead to get it ! I wasn't giving up now!
Thanks for the cache pprass, found without issues on arrival

Not sure how many years in the making this was but I went to do it this time and found that I’d solved all but one of the stages. Got the final coords then did the walk from Town Beach. Great spot. Cache is very wet and log is soggy. Needs some drying time. Thanks for the adventure!

An afternoon of caching to myself as the family relaxed at the caravan. I decided to revisit some multis I didn't do the other day. Now I realise I have done this tour more than once already! I even did it again in lab form a few days later. When I calculated GZ I thought I had done something wrong, but then looked at the T rating and figured I could have a look. The closed track made it harder to access so I vaulted the fence and clambered down through the bush and found the cache.
Thanks pprass

I found lots of caches on a roadtrip holiday up to Byron Bay. Over the course of the week, I targeted a variety of caches that worked towards different statistic-based goals. Thanks to all the Cache Owners for their contributions to this fantastic recreational activity.

I will update log of my tremendous efforts to find this cache when I get home
Thanks for another awesome journey Pprass
Edit: I started piecing this cache together some time ago, Do the tour, go to the coordinates, do some math, not too hard right? Ha!
I got to ground zero and something didn't feel right and of cause no cache. Messaged the CO and turns out half the dates I collected where wrong. How could I stuff up something so easy lol all I can say is the two geokids who come on most of my geocaching adventures can get into a lot of mischief!!!
Now with the final coordinates in hand I had to wait for a kid free day and finally got to claim this cache, turns out not very far form the incorrect coordinates I had to start with lol
Thanks again Ppass, always a blast

Having a chance to be in Port for the morning we decided to do a multi and this was the closest one so off we went on our walk gathering info.
This was a great walk with some great spots and views along the way.
But we did drive to the windmill due to parking times lol
Great multi cache with a nice sized cache to find at the end.

What a fun adventure this one was! Having obtained what we thought were correct final coords, we attempted to find the cache itself. Now you wouldn’t believe it, but we were in the exact right spot the first time but then second guessed ourselves and ended up searching the wrong spot & then messaged CO, frustrated and confused. Came back this morning all renewed and had CIH in minutes. Coords seemed a little off but it may have been the rocks around here throwing it off. Cache slightly damp inside. TFTC & the adventure FP Awarded!
While staying in Port Macquarie again for work I had some spare time this afternoon so decided to take a walk and collect the info for this one. This cache takes you on a really nice walk and shows what a great place Port Macquarie is. Excellent spot for the final too, really enjoyed this one, TFTC!
Having visited the waypoints as part of other caches in the area, it was quite simple to complete this one TFTC
What a thrill to find this one, an awesome multi-cache adventure. Amazing job maintaining this for so long pprass. TFTC
What a spectacular experience, Was my first ever multi cache and wow, nothing can top that. The whole thing ended up taking us about 2 hours total. This cache was so well planned and really enjoyed finding all the little hints and numbers to find the final coords. Also Nice to be directed to important history about the location too! And what a spectacular location, this cache really brought us to an amazing view. There’s nothing near home that’s such an amazing adventure. TFTC. Well done to the owner, very impressed to find a 13 year old cache!
Got all the numbers and added them to reveal the final coordinates! Was running out of time today unfortunately and was getting dark, heading for the final tomorrow morning!
In town today, so thought it would be a good day to check out the coast and finish this one off. A great view from the final location.

Area has changed so much since it was first placed nearly 13 years ago, so hint has been added to - co-ords were spot on for me (2 metres after letting GPSr settle down.)

This was the second of two PMQ multis we made a start on year's ago before falling in a confused newby heap along the way. Today we had the time to attempt it just how we wanted - riding it. Can't believe we made a hash of it the first time when it's such a straight forward multi. Today the hardest part was getting a bike up the break wall in school holidays.
The GPS switched itself off on the way to GZ which wasn't a good idea for MrsG who rarely uses one and is capable of changing formats just by looking at it but it helpfully fired up again and continued on where it left off. [^]
The cache was well hidden but sadly the sistema mentioned in the description is now a chinese container and due to the plastic bag not being sealed properly the log was quite wet....not so wet we couldn't leave some ink though. Thought we had a spare container then remembered we'd used it for a Lake Macquarie earthcache. But this didn't take away from an excellent multi with superbly scenic views and interesting info. And to top it off, as we rode back to the Town Green we were given a beautiful sunset that had more than just MrsG snapping. TFTC pprass, fav from us.

Started this multi yesterday while eating an ice cream at the waterfront. Walked on to flagstaff hill but then ran out of puff. Today we visited the pilots cottage and then Geo hubby drove me up to windmill hill for the final info. GZ calculated and a quick find with a breathtaking view. Thank you for a great multi.

While sitting in the pub overlooking the town Green enjoying the sights we decided to try our first multi cache, being newbies to geocacheing... Very enjoyable trip around Port Macquarie.
We worked out the final co-ordinates and headed further down the path, found the cache without too many problems.
The lid is broken and the log book is soaked thru, signed the best we could

We have travelled up from Sydney’s Northern Beaches to Port Macquarie for our annual summer holiday, camping in our Jayco Swan Outback camper trailer at the Breakwall (Sundowner) Holiday Park. Today we spent the morning at the Kooloonbung Creek Nature Reserve, collecting caches around the circuit track, then after lunch we visited Historic Roto House and the Koala Hospital. This was our 12th find of the day, and 61st find of the holiday.
We had been visiting the various waypoints around Port as we travelled around collecting other caches, and today we stopped off at final GZ to see if we could claim the prize.
Arrived at final GZ and started the search, but failed to find the hide. Kept widening our search zone until we eventually found the illusive cache container some 12 metres away (later found to be our own fault). TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. The cache container has a crack in the lid so needs replacement, possibly with a more robust style of container.
After returning to camp we checked our calculations and discovered a small error, which would account for our coord discrepancy (oops!). TFTC pprass.

This is one of the last caches we did in the Port Macquarie central area and have somehow missed on logging. We remember it well as we were trying to be clever and work on a number of the multis at the same time to avoid going backwards and forwards. It didn't work! We only managed to confuse ourselves and the rain at the time didn't help. But weather is a whole different section!
What didn't help as well was that we were originally going to work the cache in reverse but changed our minds and did it in sequence, but then we missed one waypoint.
In the end all worked out well and we were able to obtain all the information and enjoy the various waypoints taking time to admire the views and read the signs albeit from under an umbrella. It was a short walk to GZ then after a bit of a rummage round in a few places the cache was turned up.
Thank you Pprass for the tour of the Port area and a chance to see the many delightful sights of Port Macquarie in a variety of weather conditions.

Our last find today before heading off to an event in town. We had these co-ordinates solved for a while now but hadn't got to go looking until today. A familiar area along the pathway here, but a different pathway to explore to this cache. Took us a bit of searching before we found the right area, scrambled up the hill and made our find. TFTC

On here up on holiday and i was staying nearby. i managed to get the afternoon by myself to do some of the many multis along the coastal walk. this was the fifth of the day. I collected some of this information from my visit to Port earlier in the year. Somehow i must of had enough info to get extremely close to the final as my gps showed the icon for this to be very close to my recalculated position. however i don't remember having got it all so i collected the info again to double check it. Quick find once i was in the area. TFTC
Two Norwegians on a long Australian journey. Started in Brisbane Oct. 6th., then Sunshine Coast, inland to Stanthorpe and the Granite Belt, back to the coast to Byron Bay and yesterday down the coast to Port Macquarie. So far 59 caches logged in Australia as found and a couple of DNFs.
First we went to VP1 to pick up informations, then back to GZ as we forgot to get the informations from there. Afterwards to VP2 and 3 to get the last informations. On the way we managed to log a couple of other caches.
A nice walk along the river and beaches. Thanks to CO for showing us this part of Port Macquarie.

I arrived in time in Port Macquarie today to have a nice stroll. So I decided to try the closest multi. It didn't say it was going all the way to the other side of town, but I was busy with it anyway. After one hour I signed the logbook. Thanks for showing me around!
I left a TB that was left in a cache near Waterfall Way. It's kinda lost, since it wants to visit all the States of the USA. Maybe someone else can get it on track again.

If there is a hard way and an easy way to reach a destination I will always chose the hard one. Great views once I reached the spot. TFTC and the tour of port
TFTC, multi task multi caching by doing 2 at once with overlapping waypoints. Stood at the fence and the GPS said 33 metres beyond, i thought WTF, down there, can't be. Double checked my sums, all correct. Then i moved further down the path and a track was spotted and i soon had the loot. Fav point given for a great spot/view.
Woke up early this morning and thought what a perfect time to do a tour of Port plus a couple of the Coastal Walk series that I had the final coords for. I had already visited (some more than once) and collected the required numbers from most this multi's waypoints as I've moved around this week, so it didn't take long before I was heading to where I calculated to be a little off the main track. And there I found the cache hidden exactly as described. After doing the paperwork, I lingered for a few minutes to take in the promised fine view to Flynns Beach and other points south,
Thanks for bringing me here pprass, and for leading me on such an enjoyable tour of Port's foreshore.

Well I came back to tackle this one, confirmed with CO the I had the correct co-ords, which they were. Pretty much walked straight up to it. Great view and location. TFTC Pprass:)
Could not find the final cache today with team nurse and team nurse bonnie, after searching for 15mins we looked at the hint, continued to search but two muggles decided to check out the view hmmm very convenient lol but won't be giving up on this one.
Found on a short, but busy holiday up in Port Macquarie (and earlier Coffs Harbour). While my wife slept in I headed out on our last day for a short morning of geocaching. I had actually started this one two days earlier and found most of the waypoints and numbers, except for some reason I skipped waypoint two, so yesterday with my wife and son we headed over there and later I calculated the coordinates, but they seemed too close to another cache. I went here anyway and yes I found the cache easily. Unfortunately the lid is cracked, but with all the fine weather we have been having, it was still nice and dry inside. Should still be looked at, especially if rains are coming. Nice views form here and a nice multi.
Thanks for the walk, history, views (at every waypoint) and cache!

While the Geokid enjoyed the nearby skate park I went for a walk and gathered the info for this multi. A maths error at gz had me in the wrong direction but once sorted it was a nice find and view! Tftc and for the great walk
