I think this cache was a definite highlight of my day in this area with Net88. I noted this archived cache might still be in place and so added it to the list of caches for the day. About halfway through our few hours together, we were up to visiting this spot. I found the turn-off and drove up the little road.
Having read the description regarding the history of the area, I was keen to see it. A little bit of a sad story, but a magical spot, very well hidden away. Just the type of place that deserves a cache and that I'd like to visit. As we drove along I wondered how long this driveway would be, it is not like other cemeteries. We got to the end and I parked the car.
Such a quaint little cemetery, I am sure there are worse places to rest in peace. We headed for the cache and as I followed the GPSr pointer, I soon spotted the cache. So long without being found and it had become uncovered, likely by many showers of rain. I plucked it out and opened it up - in perfect condition, much better condition than many active caches I have found. I made the phone call at GZ and confirmed I could remove this cache as per the CO's wishes and shall get it back to him soon. Kind of sad to remove the great excuse to visit this lovely spot.
Happy as always to find another quality, well thought-out and researched geocache by wingaap. A favourite of the day. TFTC wingaap

Found this cache whilst out caching for a few hours with Captain Terror in one of the only areas where we both have unfound caches. We pulled up at this cache and headed over to search at GZ. We were both sure that this cache was still going to be here, therefore neither of us were surprised when we spotted the cache half covered but in perfect condition. We signed our names and the Captain informed me that the CO wanted him to collect any of his containers that he came across so that is what we did. The cache is no longer there for finding. Thanks for the cache Wingaap and for bringing us to such a nice, quiet little area.
thankfully this time when whint and i came back here the snake was fake the co-ords were about 5m off but other than that it was was an easy one

As the CO of Pioneers I would like to state that I had nothing to do with the 'snake' as the log would tend to imply. This 'snake' is and never was part of my cache.
I've had it with the snake incident.
I object to being 'accused' of doing something of which I have no knowledge.
How can a cache be responsible for the action of others.

So we went back today... I figured that if it was real and alive it would be gone {well out of view anyway and that would be good enough for me to have another look} - If it was real and dead it would not have moved... and if it was fake then it would not have moved.....
well it was still there.... still looked too freaky for me to want to go close... so we threw some sticks toward it.... didn't move.... threw some sticks at it.... still didn't move...... creep forward..... little by little.... the body looks freakishly real.... but when I got close enough to see the head properly I could see it was fake... phew! I have to say that I still did not want to go near it... lol... how sad is that.... so... upon realising this slithery critter wasn't the real deal i went back to the task at hand.... finding the cache.... I decided to pay some real attention to the GPS and as it would turn out... the log the 'snake' had claimed was not even the right spot... so we started to look in the correct area... I looked at one log and decided it was the wrong place, turned my attention elsewhere and my geoboy D-Man looked where I had been looking... and voila... it really was the right place... so not having a good day! lol and guess what.... turns out, it wasn't anywhere near this slimy critter... I was pretty much standing on it yesterday... how sad is that! lol
So.... what could have been a simple walk in and walk out case... the fake snake made it quite an ordeal and an adventure.... one I could have done without thanks very much!!
I should also mention the container had alot of water inside, we emptied it out but we didn't have anything to dry it out with... the logbook itself is ok though. There weren't really any swaps inside so I added a couple of things for the next geokid who comes along

TFTC and the scare
I was in the right place.... pretty sure I knew where to look.... but there was just one wee problem.... there was a snake guarding the prize.... it wasn't moving so I did question whether maybe the snake was in fact the cache... so I PAF to ask... no they say... it is not on the log and is not a snake.... just poke it with a stick and make it move away... Ummm... yeah not a chance in hell.... I am sufficiently scared enough of snakes to just walk away and come back another day when the nasty slithery fellow has gone.... that and my wee boy was with me... firstly I don't want to encourage him to play with snakes... but secondly... I don't want to endanger him intentionally by poking a snake :/
so thanks for the scare.... not keen on the style... ;P

I'm getting close to all of Wingaap's caches in Brisbane.
This one was a little damp, the log was OK though, when I arrived so I dried it out, tossed the rubbish and added anothr zip bag to everything.
A great spot, well worth the visit.

What a shame the old cemetry had been vandalised, It would have been great to see all that history. A quick find and a look around the place.

Who would have thought there were graves out here . I love looking at graves but Stairman1 reminded me what I was here for . We quickly set to work and the cache was soon in hand. After signing the log, I headed back to the gravestones and read them before heading off to our next cache. Thanks wingaap for bringing us to a place we never would have known existed if it was not for geocaching
Fascinating area and there is no doubting the sense of history: we were virtually hearing the horses and drays of old running around us. We took a moment to wander through the cemetery proper. The recent history of the place is a bit sad: what's with cemetery vandals? What are they trying to prove?
Anyway, the cache itself is in sound condition, not too damp. Remembered the pen, forgot the tradeables, I'm afraid, but I guess it is a pretty small container anyway. I'd recommend this cache for anyone passing through, but for beginners especially. Thanks!

Our first geocache. Was introduced to this by family memeber in the Uk. Awesome fun. But we will have to return and try again!!
Thanks

Well I guess you know by now the fun we had!! Luckily there was only 1 spider we came across. And a cane toad that Loki spotted and proceeded to oust from its hiding spot. Unfortunately said cane toad wasn't the cache and it remained unfound by us. Fangsoki made the judgement call to replace the container (he was going to do a log book check anyway!) but we will head back again this weekend and have another scout around with additional information. A very interesting area and definitely worth a visit (or two in our case ). Thanks wingaap
I held off logging this one until I could the permission fromt he Owner. Lokipagan and I arrived at GZ and started the hunt. It was a fair old hunt indeed. We scratched around for 30 minutes. I bought out the "big guns" and got my walking stick out for a poke at various items and hides. Unfortauntely, we came up with nothing. Unable to contact Mr Wingaap via the mobile, I made the judgement call to put a new container at our perceived GZ. The new container is a "lock and lock" style small container. It has a log book and swaps (sorry no writing instrument - despite me turning the car inside out). We hid it as per the hint and moved along. A fascinating area. You would not know the graveyard is hidden away in here.
I have just gone through my Wingaap finds. According to my reckoning, I have 2 Wingaap puzzle caches to solve - and then I have done all of his active caches Pity I am dumber than a box of hammers and can't get the puzzles sorted
TFTC Wingaap - another enjoyable cache

TFTC - Great hide - I had a lucky break and it was right there in front of me. SL took lucky coins, left smiley magnet. Would never have known this little cemetery was even here - a very restful place indeed.
I would never have known this historic place existed. The names on some of the graves and the plaque are well known suburbs throughout Brisbane. Thanks for getting me to this spot Wingapp
A nice easy find with Chimpa. I have driven past many times, but have never been to visit.
Thank you for giving us an excuse to visit this quiet spot.
Thank you for giving us an excuse to visit this quiet spot.
Papadavid led the way, announcing "30 metres this way!" and then proceeded to walk WAAAAAYYYY into the bush. I stopped where I thought 30m was, and saw the cache. Eventually Papadavid turned around to see me with cache in hand, and that was that. We then spent a little time remembering our local pioneers.
Found on an afternoon caching in the area. Lovely quiet cemetary quite hidden from the road. Once we had searched the all the wrong areas we finally hit the correct one. TFTC.
Found it No. 2828 ... easy find, did not know that the Cemetery was there ... took badge and left Chinese Coins
A pleasant walk from home. Did some bush exploring late in the day and eventually Geowife found it.

Great hide - took a bit of looking to find it. Unfortunately cache was very wet and mouldy inside - needs attention. sorry i didn't have a sealable plastic bag for it. Took 'nemo' and left 'blue frog'. Very interesting history TFTC
Lovely spot we'd intended to visit over years of passing the historic marker. Thanks for the incentive! Cache was a bit wet. We dried as best we could, but the papers could use some sun. This was only my second cache ever, so I signed the logbook, but left nothing and took nothing.
Found this one after the GPS was playing up a bit, maybe due to the fog!
Log and cache were a bit wet....might need some attention.

I really love the histories in old cemetaries so I was keen to get out to this one. Such a shame it was vandalled . Find 3 on our christmas day adventure. TNLNSL, TFTC. Firesafe GC temporary visit.
We parked on the road and walked in along the fire trial. After a short hunt we found the cache. Still a bit damp. We then wandered over to the cemetery for a bit of quiet rememberance.

Well worth visiting. Make sure you check the previous logs as the GZ has changed. TFTC
Found it! Great spot, shame about the cache. Contents is festy! It could do with a good clean and removal of such items like the mouldy balloon - yuck! TN L - NEW CLEAN Bouncy Ball.
Easy find but not in the "clue" location. Apparently the caretaker, "JD", was clearing a dead tree on 8th November 2008 and knocked over the stump the cache was in. Cache is now beside the path. As a cacher, you'll spot it easily. TN/LN/SL. Nice to know JD is looking after our cache [^].
Found at 0830. A quick find although the clue was a bit misleading. Nice hidden cemetry. Cache OK but the log book was a bit damp. TFTC.
Drove along Moggill Rd with RoryTB, when she said "there's a cemetary here". By then it was too late and I had sped past. So we tried to access from all sorts of other directions, until we got back to Moggill Rd and found the track.
What a great cemetary - we had a look at some of the gravestones and also found the owner's ancestors' stone.
The hint no longer applies but cache was in a safe and obvious spot. Container had taken in some water, log still dry.
TFTC, Wingaap!

Cool hide. We found the cache contents to be quite wet but the log was safe in it's plastic bag. We let it dry out a bit but it could use more. TNLN We didn't even know this place existed TFTC.
Good easy find with grandkids. The contents are very damp, but the log is OK in it's sealed plastic bag. It will need some maintenance though. TFTC

Silver Sovereign and I took an alternate route home from the CITO cache to grab some goodies on the way. This is a very tranquill little spot and certainly not a place you would usually stumble across.
Took a little while to find the cache as GPS put us a little off the track.
There is an interesting entry in the log book from the guy who maintains the tracks in the area around GZ. Apparantly he has stumbled across the cache while doing some maintenance. The entry did not elaborate too much but, I guess by virtue of the cache still being in location, he is happy for it to remain. Lucky for us...
Thanks for taking us off the road for this one Wingaap.

Found at 1245 today. Was not too dificult to find GZ. Took Squeeze ball and left toy Koala. Note book in cache for log is full so I left a new note book with my find as the first entry. TFTC. Enjoyed the area.
It was hard to find the entrance, which isn't all theat clear from the road, but once that was found the cache was quickly found.

An easy find in an interesting place! This was a quick one as the kids were getting restless. While I was there some locals came to dump off their green waste in the cemetery but our presence scared them off. While I was finding the cache they drove back down the track and dumped all their clippings/branches on the side of the road which was a bit disappoitning.
