Always one to check out a cool park I parked near this one and strolled over towards GZ. I ended up looking at the creek under the bridge on my way, but soon followed the GPS to ground zero. Waited for a break in the muggles and looked around and sure enough, found the cache. A micro, yes, but caching is sometimes just about the great location. As I was signing the log I felt something on my leg which turned out to be a rather large spider on his way up my leg, no sure if he was employed by the cache owner to ward off muggles, but a gentle flick saw him back in the bushes. Replaced cache and off for a toddle through the park to another nearby cache - and might I add, a great park here, well worth the cache to show people this spot. TFTC wingaap Smile

Found @ 14:32 on 10/03/2012. This was my 31st find of 47 total finds today. Another victory for the 'special' Max list. Hooray!

I have been travelling around the outsides of old Ithaca all day so far, and I am amazed at how much parkland, bushland and the like is in and immersed in Brisbane. Inner Brisbane ... come'on I'm 5ks from city CBD? With the recent rains I think I saw this creek crossing at it's best - stunning.

Walked through Bowman Park to the other nearby cache afterwards, and there are people everywhere enjoying the outdoors. Thanks for bringing me here Max and Wingaap. And Wingy, don't give up on us cache hunters - sometimes we get it right.

Oh, the cache itself is in good order - dry and functional. No problems.

Found this one on my way around the quiet streets of Brisbane, as my GPS had not had this one as archived. I thought this was a neat hide and its a shame to see that you have archived this one. Just because some cachers don't appreciate it don't let that stop you. I completed several of your caches this evening and I enjoyed them all. I wonder if the people making those comments have established many caches?

Found - but just another micro in an Eclipse.

24-Aug-10
One gets tired of some logs which simply read "TFTC" . The last straw was " Found - but just another micro in an Eclipse".

The object of the cache was to introduce you to beautiful Bowman Park. No one it seems is interested in the park and what it contains.....there has not been one such log.

Hence it would appear that it's not worth bringing people here.

Third find of the day, but the first one that I actually found, so I did a little dance. Luckily we followed the GPS and didn't actually go into the park because we would have been in for a long walk. I think 'in the confines of Bowman park' is a bit misleading. Anyway, a good cache and good hide. Thanks!

"Night Caching,
Deserves a quiet night"

That's the song that R.E.M. should have sung about, way back in the early 90's.

With that in mind, my cousin-in-law, the eagle-eyed m44, and I headed out for a night's caching while the geo-wife went off to play her weekly game of netball.

Nice hide, this one and finished the night off with a find, instead of a DNF!

On our way home, we noticed this one nearby, so NyletaM and I couldnt resist.
GPS let us straight to the location, and it was a very quick find.
Had to wait or a few muggles getting their evening exercise before returning to it spot

Quickly found the spot where the cache was hidden. Grabbed the logbook and wrote the name.
As I went back to the car. I feelt ... something is missing?! My GPS!! Reverse. In the same moment a car pulled by and the driver told me that he returned, to tell me that I lost my mobile. Phuu that was a close shave!

at 15:29. After treking and climbing around the wild hills of Bardon for our previous 4 caches this was a doddle. We hardly needed to get out of the car.

Thanks again Wingaap. The cache is fine.

This should be classed as a micro and the container is getting a bit worse for ware.

Our first cache - couldn't find it at night, and thought it had been washed away with the flooding earlier this year. But found it in daylight! So exciting, thank you! Great fun.
Never knew these existed and have been walking past this point for 20 years!

14-Jun-09
Ah, a nice quick one to finish the day... I can imagine the torrent that rushed through here, nice to see that cache survived.

I was looking for something a little bigger though after spotting the size. What I found would normally constitute a Wingaap micro... Maybe it was replaced somewhere along the line...

Cheers

Found this one easily with the help of the clue. The geohound had a good walk around the woods of Bardon. Left a Singapore 20c coin. Thanks for the cache B.

Out at night with GeoConspirator p0m of TSD1824. Usually I'm the one who finds all the caches while p0m is stuffing around with the technology, but apparently I left my cache-fu behind at the first find. Cache and contents were fine.

Given that this cache was more than 1m underwater it coped remarkably well.

However, at noted the log book was a little damp.

A nice easy find on the way home from work. Strong magnet indeed to have survived those floods.
Looks like a nice park adjoining.

Logbook was indeed damp, but still usable (i.e. the pencil works). I didn't have another notebook on me to replace it with though.

Thanks for the report modelbear.

Absolutely amazing.....the water though here was so deep you couldnt see the depth guage!!

Must be one heck of a magnet to withstand that amount of water rushing by!!

I checked this one today while walking past and found the cache still in its usual location. The log is still a bit damp but otherwise the cache is fine.

Although we could see exactly where we wanted to look for this cache, we were thwarted by the fact that workmen had dug a very large hole right beside it, and were working in it!

Found the cache easy enough, which left me the opportunity to admire some great examples across the road of the ‘Queenslander’ houses. They really are generally a nice looking dwelling and hugely practical. I have never understood why that style of architecture stops at the border and is virtually found nowhere else in Australia? Thanks for bringing me here wingaap. Cheers Big Grin

Could this be the Bowman about which a question is asked in the geoforest? Found the micro at about 16:30 and squeezed a moniker in the log. The park, paths, and roads near the cache were popular this afternoon.

My GPSr is playing tricks on me and had me search the wrong side of the creek for 10min. Hmm I wonder if I can use that for an excuse to upgrade to a newer model, I will try it on the geo-wife. Anyway the cache was an easy find when the GPSr finally made up it's mind. Thanks Wingaap, today's caching certainly makes up for my bad cache day yesterday Smile

Found this cache whilst driving by at some ridiculous hour of the night in the good company of dandent.....we just had to do a Wingaap cache whilst in the area, or we would never here the end of it Big Grin

A nice easy find thanks...though even late at night there is enough cars passing by to be an inconvenience. Nice set of catseyes on the road.

Thanks Wingaap for the hide and the chance to pull up at night and see not much.....maybe we should come back during the day Big Grin

Found @ 9:34am

Snowman48 and I met up with Slapshot52 and jaymegee (visiting from the US) at oh dark thirty to see if we couldn't get a good "day's" caching in before the breakfast. Cache density is pretty high in wingaap territory so we were in for a pretty good morning.

A bit against the clock on this one as Snowman48 had granddad duties to attend to soon. Fortunately the clue told us all we needed to know and we had it in our hands quickly enough.

One of 15 caches on a "cache and dash" trip with Snowman48, Mloe, and Slapshot52 while visiting Brisbane from Colorado on a business trip. Ditto what Slapshot52 said -- big thanks to Mloe and Snowman48 for choosing the caches, driving us around and (ahem) teaching me to use my GPSr more effectively Smile TFTC!

28-Jul-07
Grabbed this one on a personal record breaking run of 16 caches in one day with Snowman48, Mloe, and jayemgee while visiting Brisbane from Colorado Springs, Colorado on a business trip. It was nice to get out of the downtown area and see something beside the inside of the hotel and the walls of a meeting room! Big Thanks to Mloe and Snowman48 for taking time away from visiting family on a beautiful Saturday to show us around this great city.

28-Jul-07
Since we were visiting from the USA we decided to a little cache hunting very early in the morning. So a team of Jayemgee, Slapshot52, Snowman48 and Mloe (the guy with the local knowledge) set out to find as many caches in 4 hours as possible. This was one of 15 finds for the day and a great welcome back to caching for Slapshot52 who has been in a very unsuitable caching location for a good time. Thanks for the cache.
