I'm afraid I didn't find it either. There were a couple of trees that met the clue - but no joy at either. Probably needs checking.
Didnt find it. But we had a nice chat with Hexy who was drinking tea in Victorian costumes.
The crew had a fairly thorough search. Debris in the trees suggests the river has been quite high recently. Nice spot, the clear water would be inviting on a hot day - that wasn't today though.
#202. StreetWalkerNZ, Troodles and Oma. Quickly spotted by Oma. Nice quite spot near a busy road.
Lovely little reserve we would have driven right by but for geocaching. Easy find once we got past the electric fence. Lovely place for a swim and picnic.

Another awesome spot found by Timgrin. Thanks - we are definitely coming back here for a swim. The cache site had been fenced off by farmer with a single strand electric fence and "daisy" and sisters took a keen interest (as only cows can) in our hunt. An easy find although we did use the clue to speed the process as we thought we might have been on private property (probably Queen's chain).
Not sure why fellow cachers place junk like plastic dinosaurs with head and legs bitten off in caches. Took this out and left some new batteries instead.

Nice spot! Took us some time to find it, because the GPS did not work properly. Crossed the river several times and sent my fellow cacher accidentlly to the wrong direction to seek. Lost my trustability a wee bit .
The TB Ocicat1 is still not in there!

what a great spot. Had a bit of a history lesson on the tragic accident. Very sad. But nevertheless we shall bring our togs next time.
What a fantastic spot loved it! Did a spot of fishing and just enjoyed the peace and quiet. "Nice brown trout a local caught too" whilst we were there, pity it wasnt on my line:(Anyway neat spot for a cache thanx
One of the many caches we did during our holiday in New Zealand. Many interesting places seen thanks to all the caches.

Pity there's no info about the dam itself, fairly obvious there was one there. Very pleasant spot and no doubt a great swimming hole on a hot day.

Found cache on way to Waimate. Nice little creek off the beaten track. Cheers from Oz, DazEm
A very nice reserve, 1st cache of the trip to Oamaru. Will have to come down more often as there were 81 within a 30km radius of the RSA Gardens in Oamaru! Too many for one weekend.

Sheltered spot on a very windy day. We have driven past here countless times and never known this place existed.
Got the cache this time, was looking in completely the wrong place last time. A nice spot to stop for a coffee break on the drive to Dunedin. TNLN.
On the drive back home, a quick stop. Must have been a good flood to have wrecked the wall and to get the water up so high. The cache is doing well in its hidey hole, I just happened to be looking at the wrong site for it for ages before I read the clue and found the right hiding spot Thanks.
It was raining and dark but we wanted one more for fun. Little did we know that it was our 100th cache at the time. TFTC. There was a shell in the cache that was quite moldy and we removed it. All the contents seemed to be a bit damp, it may need some drying.
Checked this one finally - having driven past the last two weekends in the dark - we finally came past will it was still light so was able to check it.
Cache was right where I left in. Water had obviously been about a metre over the top of the cache - inside the cache contents were slightly wet but the logbook in its snaplock bag were as dry as could be. Emptied the water out and aired for a little while before rehiding it again it what is probably the best spot for it.

Think the cache has disapeared with the flood waters.
Took 15 minutes to get the car out of the carpark as it got stuck. A lot of pushed then enschewed.

A quick stop in here for the younger team members to hunt fo this one We will have to come back in the summer as this would be an awesome place for a swim (when there is not so much ice around, brrrr) TFTC

That was a nice quick find in a potentially good spot in summer. Swapped Geocoins over TFTC

First tome back down to Dunedin since we last tried this cache, which we abandoned due to swimming muggle family! Far too cold to swim today, no muggles and easy find. TFTC + trackable coin - cadet badge
A quick dash in-and-out from the road to find this one on the way down to Dunedin. GPS was a little erratic under the trees so needed the hint to point me in the right direction. Cheers Gav [1121]
Easy find, even though it was dark. Left Jimmy Jandal TB, took nothing. TFTC.
On way back home from Dunedin. Stopped to find muggles swimming and enjoying themselves. Go figure!?! Took a photo opportunity, so will return!
Found it at 11.30 hrs. Nice historical spot.
T: Shark/dino
L: Dice/pin/ present from Holland in green paper for the first to find.

Nice place to take a dip in Summer, but not today. Brrr. Cheers for showing me this spot.
This reserve needs a little TLC, looking worse after recent snow storms. Took a magnet and left a submarine.
No problems here, though I was worried about 2 things, would the car stay on top of the soft grass, and was that electric fence live.

It's been VERY wet through here recently but the cache was *just* above the flood level luckily. Nice wee place too. Here with the team, including Tardis Chick. TFTC.

Didn't even realise there was a reserve here, i drive past several times per week. The flood waters got close to the cache, but it's still nice and dry.

Hmm - rather odd.
I'm almost certain I remember logging this - but the log's not here.
All I remember of the visit was that there was a decapitated cow's head in the carpark next to the rubbish bin, and our Jack Russell was absolutely terrified of it.
TNLN ( I think ) Thanks.

Had a good look for this one as we had found the old Mill Dam Cache a few years ago. It appears that the tree in the clue has had a wee accident and has been partially removed. May pay to check if this one is still there.

Found after a fair bit of searching... finding the right item in the hint isn't actually that easy!
Couple of muggles swimming when we arrived, but were in the process of packing up.
A pretty neat little location, might try and stop by for lunch sometime.
TNLN, Thanks,
Mike.

We jumped to conclusions using the hint and searched the wrong places before finally looking at the GPSr and going straight to it. Nice little stream. In: Gecko Keyring, out: torch. Thanks
An interesting spot I never knew was there. The old dam had a curved structure for strength. Future cachers should also look into the deep gully beside the carpark - was it a millrace? What did it all look like in its heyday?
No swaps, thanks and cheers from Grandalf.

We took our young friends from Townsville, Sumita and Kiran with us to find this one. The race was on between them, each having found one cache so far.
Took hackeysack, left torch.

Another great wee spot thanks - good to know about these havens from the traffic. I seem to be following Bitsprayer all over the place and as I'm logging my 20 odd finds this morning I notice his score is going up too! No exchange - thanks - Tony.
I had planned an early Sunday morning ride to Oamaru to clean up a few outstanding caches so when this popped up I harboured thoughts of snaffling a FTF on a cache in Bitsprayer's backyard- that would have been a coup! But wasn't to be. One of those spots you travel past without ever knowing it's there. TNLN. TFTC.
Yippe a new cache in my patch, just took the dog down for a play and found a cache.
I had cache here by the same name but it got taken twice so I archived it...
Many thanks for the cache close to home... more please [O)]
