wont dnf this as we got to gz to find heaps of people so couldnt look...and having not read the logs wasnt aware that the cache was archived. Great spot though.

We were at GZ but the dog walkers were everywhere so it was impossible for us to search without them looking at us like we are strange and sacrificing the integrity of the cache, and now I realise that its archived, strange… gsak didn’t tell me that.

I have decided to archive this cache after a check today revealed that it has again been the victim of erosion caused by high seas. The cache may well still be in situ but it is covered by almost a metre of rocks which have built up against the retaining wall.
I have been asked what the point of this cache was as it is very close to another. This cache was placed here because I thought that the history of the area was interesting and that the fact that it is a dog walking area with pleasant scenery made bringing it to cachers' attention worthwhile.
When I placed this cache I was not aware that the other cache (part of a multi) had been moved from its original position almost 1k away where it had been when I scored a FTF on it.
As to why mine was OKed by the GC reviewer I have no idea.

A quick look around didn't come thru with the goods Sad

Oh well.

Found a cache after widening the search, but realised it was one I'd done prevoiusly.

Thanks all the same

I couldn't find the cache either, might need checking - or my eyesight might - one of the two!

I am curious though as to why there is a cache just 10 metres from another cache - apart from how it got past the reviewers in the first place, why, what is the point?

No muggles tonight, but no cache either. 3 sets of eyes looked everywhere where we thought it could be, and lots of places that we thought nooooooo el golco wouldn't have climbed up here. No find tonight, the dark beat us, and the call to go 'haunting'.

Cheers Quilter

I had a couple of hours to keep myself occupied while TTE was at a Wakikiri rehearsal (primary school dance event). I thought this would be a great cache to find. Alas, the whole area was Muggle heaven, at least 20 muggles and 6 dogs. Sad Will have to try another day. Cheers Quilter

Gotcha on the second attempt after the first cache went walkies... Utilised my go-go-gadget arm and retrieved without issue. TNLNSL...

17-Jun-06
Finally got this one on our third attempt. The tide must have been very high recently, sand and stones have been washed up onto the footpath. Took Bart Simpson, left dolphin and spikey ball. Thanks El Golco.

great place 3rd for morning

thanks

Nice little hiding place, I hope it's safe from a rough high tide now.

23-May-06
[PLEASE NOTE NEW COORDINATES: A new cache has been placed in a position that is hopefully easier to find and less likely to be washed away.
HINT.......]In crevice, behind rocks.

New cache placed at new co-ords (see log below)

18-May-06
Thought I'd better check this one out and indeed it seems to be missing.Sad There are signs of land movement which may have dislodged the cache and resulted in its being washed away in recent heavy weather. Will replace and hide at different co-ords very soon.
Sorry about this. I should have checked sooner.Red Face

We have made concerted efforts to find this cache on two occasions and it has defeated us both times. I think we've looked in every nook and cranny along this area as well as up the stairs and around billy. Checked out the interesting selection of rocks on the beach including dolerite, basalt, sedementary fossil containing rock as well as the odd bit of agate and jasper. Also never knew there was a penguin rookery past the other end of the beach. Although we found no cache we found many other interesting treasures.
Thanks El Golco we may try again another time.

19-Apr-06
Had a couple of tries at this one (on 19th & again on 20th April). If it's still there it is cartainly well hidden. We must have looked behind every rock for 30 metres in each direction - to no avail.

18-Apr-06
Came down after doing Cheesy Pig's Summer, but the co-ords were certainly off a bit. I searched up the stairs and along the edge of the bank down below, but couldn't find it. The owner of the property saw me rooting around and came down for a chat - he was quite interested to hear all about my "treasure hunt". He tells me there's going to be some work done in this area because of the possible erosion etc, so the cache might not be safe soon...I'll return for another look some other time.

Nice bunker!

GPS read about 10 meters out, took fabsios super vision to find this one!

This was a treat for me and my mate Azenis as The bunkers are interesting spots and the scenery was grand to say the least. Unfortunately my GPS put me 15mt into someones backyard at the top of the cliff. Nevertheless, a bit of a hunt around revealed the cache and all was good.

This should have been my 100th cache, except that I don't know where it is! Looked behind every rock, and even crept into the neighbour's yeard. Nothing.

After an easy find for 'Summer' I thought I'd have no trouble with this one. As my GPSr points me towards someones backyard I decide I must have the wrong co-ords and didn't do much of a search (I'd done them manually).
Turns out I had them right and was just off my game!

Was at NY's Day party in adjoining property so thought it rude not to go have a little look-see. Had had a couple of cursory looks on previous visits to this area but always Muggle-heavy. I also had the instruction from the GPSr to go up the stairs & through gate - suggest co-ords be adjusted slightly so the owner of this property (who confusingly shares his name with the lighthouse) might enjoy his privacy...

Anyhoo, lovely spot. Took the bouncey ball and left white GeoRobot man.

Day after an attempt abandoned because the female slave injured herself, I came back armed with hint and a gimpy female slave. Found really really easily this time.

11-Dec-05
We didn't have the hint and were looking and looking. I was doing my best to distract all the muggles by swimming, insisting that sticks CAN fly, and being my charming self, when WHAM BASH SCREAMS!!! The female slave. She's only a biped, and a fairly clumsy one at that (although she does fine of 4.5 T caches) but she fell fairly spectacularly!!

Was in vicinity for coffee with family so took 3yo grandniece "treasure-hunting" with GPSr. She found it (with help) and had a trying time deciding on swaps. Eventually took pen-light (for saying "AHHHH..." and checking tonsils of all and sundry) and left magnetic paper clips and frogs.
signed log as Lottie Rosa Blythe Charlotte and a fair amount of scribble.
They're never too young to catch the bug Wink, hopefully.

Yep, I was up the stairs too. But this was really nice, do you know I've never noticed the concrete bunkers there before? It's a lovely stroll, and I've jogged along this walk quite a lot too. Found the cache in a nice little hiding spot, after all the joggers, dog-walkers and strollers had gone again. Took pencil, left party stickers.
Thanks el golco, after a failed attempt at Affluence of Incohol, this was just lovely!!!

02-Dec-05
Found this cache in my previous incarnation as a Cheesy Pig.

02-Dec-05
Couldn't resist such a lovely request:hint added. BTW torchlight should be no problem-that's what it was placed by! Big Grin

02-Dec-05
Well if I can't be first to find I will settle for first to log. Although if the GPSr had not been spinning like Linda Blair's head then there would have been a FTF last night.

But it isn't a race and theres nothing wrong with coming third... to birds and bogs... again... no really, congratulations to Team Tweeti and Team Swampy... well done... really... no hard feelings.

Oh took a parrot and left a stretchy foot. Thank you El Golco.[^] Big Grin

Went down after dropping the SwampKids at their respective schools. Hung around waiting for the dogs and their slaves to leave the area so I could have a decent look.
Was about to leave and Orac rang.Went back with Orac, he located it (my search was too involved and totally in the wrong area) but I touched it first.
He can claim FTF on this, at least I FBCP.Twisted
Took nothing, left highlighter.
Anyway, why would pigs be out on a beach at that time of night?

An easy FTF, FBCP and FBS this morning, in the company of TeamSwampy, who had scoured the area well, and avoided the muggles as well. Got worried when some surveyors turned up and started looking our way, we thought that was taking it all a bit too seriously!
Left Paris pin and took one of the penguin stickers

The next in our night time caching excurison. Gps wanted us to visit all manner of houses for supper, and was particularly keen on sending us up the stairs (probably the same ones as Swampy), but we eventually located the cache without entering any backyards! Were sorely tempted to take that frog keyring (very pleased to see more frogs entering Tasmanian caches!!), but decided that we shouldn't completely hog the market in frogs, so took foot (for a cache we have planned . . .) and left a mate for the frog already there! Thanks el golco.

A very pleasant walk on a very warm afternoon - even a couple of kiddies in the water! Found quite quickly but was slipping and sliding on the loose rocks replacing it as two muggles came around the corner. Had to pretend I was really into the rocks - actually, they were quite pretty as far as rocks go! Signed log, took fish eraser, left car.

01-Dec-05
El Golco, precious, could you please add a hint - there are just too many places it could be!!!!

Ta! Oh and couldnt find it by torchlight at 11:00pm Big Grin
