It's taken some time to finally be able to close the lid on this treasure. It started a few years ago with a multi cache part a that got me intrigued to finish, so I made myself a northern hemisphere friend and together we were able to help each other with some good looking coordinates. Then it wasn't to be, that trip down to paradise, and the next was delayed due to discovering the cute little country over the ditch so I made sure this time visiting to come up and find this super old teamwork mystery.Thank you so much snuva for creating and keeping this interesting mystery alive for everyone to gradually discover. Cache was found surprisingly quickly considering gz, with one of my favourite caches as well. So nice to find an ammocan on the mountain. Happy to scoop up five hundred and forty days of unloved here too! This is cache find number 4915.

Many thanks Snuva and FunnyNose for a unique caching experience.
This one has been a long time in the making for me, having found Hobart-Hobart TransPacific Multi-cache Part A in May 2019. One of the barriers to me finding this is that this track is not dog-friendly, and I do most of my caching with a couple of GeoGSP's in tow. However, as I had a couple of caches to find along this track, a plan was hatched with EeePees to get together for a walk, whilst the dogs were with their favourite dog-sitter.

So, today after lunch, I set out for an afternoon adventure on the mountain with EeePees to walk down the zig-zag track and the organ pipes track - we both had caches to find, some we both needed to find, and a couple that only one of us needed.
It wasn't the loveliest afternoon - the clouds did lower on us as we made our way down the mountain, and it was a bit drizzly/rainy, a bit cold if you stood around too long - but fine whilst we were on the move.

After somehow managing to disable my phone somewhere along the track, it was a case of trying to remember the info provided by a cacher on the other side of the world to pinpoint the location of the cache once we got close to GZ. Luckily EeePees had previously found this one, and he was able to retrieve the hint, and the cache was soon found. A most excellent container, with the contents all in great condition. A favourite from me.

Some might say I began the journey for this cache on the 11 Feb. I gathered the needed information and headed in search for a cacher over the pacific.

This brings Promethes451 into the fold. He had the desired information and I had the desired password and return information! What followed and is still following is a fantastic conversation back and forth. He was far more on the ball and collected the cache on his end well before me. He more than happily sent me the bragging photo which kicked my a into g!

Post night shift 12pm I jumped out of bed with the energy for a hike. It was 25 degrees at sea level when I left home to drive up. At the car park I had lost 10 degrees. Still warm enough for a vest and tshirt though. Especially after the goat track scramble to the main track!! Wowee!

A fairly quick find between numerous muggles out and about making the most of this fine day. The cache and contents are all in order.

As an added bonus I got to spectate the crazy rock climbers for a while. I prefer my feet firmly on the ground. What a fantastic view though! It never ceases to amazing me all the different pockets of magic you find on the mountain!

I had great intentions on carrying on to do another track. However childcare rang and little miss needed picking up so instead we jumped on the bike. Did a loop of the city and picked up the caches within arms reach of the bike track.

All in all a fantastic day and a big personal favourite of mine. Found a new friend in the process who we can hopefully meet if either one of us makes it across the pacific one day soon!

So after collecting the information back in 2016, and having an attempt at finding it 5 and a half years ago with no luck, today we found ourselves finally back in the area. Last time we remember how many hidey-holes there were that a cache could be hidden in, and today was no different. We searched what seemed like everywhere to no avail. After about 30 minutes of searching we were about to give up when we expanded our search slightly and checked a place we hadn't looked, and there it was. A relief to finally get this one! And a favourite for the challenge.

Today was the perfect day to come back for another crack at this one. This time my GPS directed me to the other side of where i was last time back on 8 April.

I was still floundering looking in all manner of hidey spots, this time with a powerful direct-beam torch.
About 25 minutes later, i just sat myself down and tried to think of where i'd hide it. Just as i was about to call it again i tried something else and there it was [^] Wink YES! Gotcha!!

SL at 13:35 on TGIF 30 April 2021, sitting back down on a nice flat rock with a view to die for [^] All is in perfect order in the cache Cool
Many thanks to my counterpart in the USA aswell Wink

(There was a Cache in Adelaide that has the same kind of idea, see [GC59TD9] Clogs & Thongs).
A Favorite Point is offloaded here for this cool cache Wink

Cache 2 Hobart-Hobart TransPacific Multi-cache Part B this cache was completed a few week ago and the coordinates were retrieved from a friendly American and kept on hold until now, I was able to search for the cache but not finding what was in the hint it was just search in every possible position at GZ and eventually wow The cache was found. Great joy was had with the cache being found, all that work was for something even though there had been a DNF recently I had found it. Not a waste of time. TFTC TNLN log dry. A lovely day to do this walk.

09-Apr-21
Got my overseas TransPacific partner. Exchanged cache-final details. Went for the cache today and searhed for over an hour in rocks for the booty. Too good for me today even after widening the search and crawling in all sorts of spots to try and locate that ammo can

Oh well can't em all i guess

Will definitely need a wee hint on this ones spot. Below or above path etc etc.
Thanks for the challenge anyways.

The time wasn't wasted as i was spoilt by the incredible views. And calorie smash getting to this one

It was long ago that I obtained the coords for this cache. Today was the day TaurusSix and I went too look for it. It took us ages to find the cache, more because of cache blindness really. I was sure it was not there the first time I looked many minutes earlier. But the view and fair weather meant the extra time at GZ was not wasted.

06-Jul-20
Well, I have completed the Hobart, WA portion. If someone is looking to swap answers, let me know!

21-Mar-20
We have the multi part 1 completed in Washington State and are seeking some one from Tasmania to help us complete the puzzle!

09-Feb-20
On a day trip to Hobart Mr "T" teamed up with Mr "W" from whitewebbs and tackled some caches in the area and this was one of them.

Cache and contents were in excellent condition, hidden away from the elements.

Thanks Snuva and FunnyNose for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

08-Feb-20
Mr W and Mr T from Tassie Trekkers headed up the mountain to find three caches and this was one of them. Mrs W had done the contacting, so nice to finally cross this one off the to do list and an old cache hide as well. No view today but at least they stayed dry as the threatening rain didn't eventuate. Well this one has taken several months to finally get around to. After completing the first part, we soon made contact with some northern hemisphere Hobartians and traded the required information. Today, I found myself in the area and so decided to search for the cache. With excellent coords, it was soon in hand. What a stunning final location too. TFTC!
Cheers,

Hi Snuva and FunnyNose, thanks for the cache.
I'd found Part A 5 months ago, and then contacted a cacher who'd logged a find on the WA Part 1 but not Part 2 and soon received a reply with the information I needed.
The opportunity arose today to head to GZ, after a false start a couple of weeks ago.
I'd not been on this particular track before and I really enjoyed the walk and the views, especially the views.
Arrived at GZ to find a muggle trio enjoying a sit down afternoon tea, and when I noticed their hot drink cups were about three quarters full, it was obvious I needed to move on for a bit and come back later - which I did. So two visits to GZ today and was rewarded with a find.
Good views from GZ, and little wonder muggles chose here for their cuppa!
A favourite for all that this cache is, and especially for bringing me to this magic location.
Cheers

What a great puzzle cache. Even though I needed to wait 4 months before another cacher contacted me, it was certainly worth the wait. Loved every thing about this cache.
The wonderful location where the cache is hidden and a walk is required to get to GZ. Which can be a short or a much longer walk. (your choice) Being such a calm winters day I started from the springs.
The clever idea and unique way to get the co ordinates.
Thanks Snuva and FunnyNose for setting this one up. Definitely a favourite.

05-Feb-19
I loved it. Yesterday I retrieved the multi and luckily I got soon the info required from the other side of Hobart. Smile today I went for an hike and found the cache, lovely swaps and TB out. Thanks for placing, fav.

I have the information from the Washington cache. Unfortunately, it looks like the Tasmanian part A may be missing, meaning I may not be able to collaborate with anyone. If and when that cache is replaced, I would love to cooperate with someone to find our respective bonus caches.

Look at all of us Washington geocachers ready to go with part 1! Add us to the list of those looking for a partner in Tasmania.

04-Feb-18
I spotted this unusual mystery cache while planning our trip down to Tassie and put it right up the top of the to-do list after making contact with the tc life/Rich, who was already in possession of the Washington info.

Apart from a slight hiccup with the final part of the multi, which the CO kindly helped us out with, everything went smoothly. We had a lovely walk to GZ admiring the amazing views and found the cache after a short hunt, and in good condition. Thanks so much for placing this great cache; a very cool concept, and thanks to tc life for their help in providing the required info FP from me

I have the information from the Washington cache. If you have the information from your side, contact me and we can exchange the information to finish this cache up. Cache on!

13-Jan-18
After obtaining the details from Part A and exchanging information with our partners who had found the Washington information, e.gregory1 and I headed up the mountain to find this cache.

After a short walk we soon had the cache in hand and enjoyed the views from GZ.

This was one of my favourite caches on our trip to Tasmania from Adelaide.

Thanks to my partners Freddo, TrueRed06 and e.gregory1 and to Snuva and FunnyNose for creating this cache. A favourite point from me.

13-Jan-18
This was one of our target caches for our short visit to Tasmania. We had done the preparation, lining up partners who had found the prerequisite Washington cache and, after a bit of drama two days previously, had obtained the details from Part A and exchanged information with our collaborators.

Today we made our way up the mountain to find this cache, with a view to then walking back down to Montrose.

It was a pleasant walk to GZ with some fantastic views back over Hobart and surrounds. Fortunately the rain and predicted bad weather was holding off for now. The cache was quickly found and signed before heading off to the next caches.

Thanks Snuva and FunnyNose for the puzzle putting this all together, and to my partners TrueRed06, EsromL and Freddo. A favourite point from me.

What a sensational spot to sit and log a puzzle cache. I can see the starting coordinates from here. Thank you to KestrelAerie for helping from the other Hobart and thank you to the CO’s for placing the caches. Left a PT and a fav point. TFTC

Howdy... I have completed the Part 1 cache in Hobart, WA and am looking for a cacher who has the Part A information from Hobart, Tasmania. Please let me know if you would like to trade information so we can both go find our respective Part 2/PartB caches.

05-Feb-17
I have the Part 1 information from Hobart, WA and would like to find someone with the Part A information from Hobart, Tasmania. Please let me know if you would like to team up and trade information so we can each find the 2nd parts (i.e., Part 2 or Part B).

We had been talking about doing some walks on the mountain for a while now and myself and GooseandEgg came up with the idea of doing the Zig Zag and Organ Pipes from the top down using two cars to do it the lazy way while we were up on the mountain getting some caches over the Christmas break.
So today we got ourselves together and after dropping a car off at the Chalet we parked up at the top and donned our boots even meeting a fellow cacher while we were doing so, it was a great day to be up here and we were soon heading downhill and even before the first cache we were treated to some great views making this walk twice as long as was planned due to us stopping and taking in the view every now and then but that half the fun.
On the way back to collect the car from the top of the mountain we also collected a couple of old caches by Xorg and Pixelwarrior.

Somewhere along my walk and drive today I called in at this little puzzle that I got the final coords for over three years ago, I even had to load up the email to confirm the hint since its been so long I had forgotten the details.

A great cache well worth the work and nice to see a big cache for a change

Found on 7/1/17 thanks for the hard work from the CO's

The best caches I have found so far by type are:-

Traditional Moorgreen P3:1, Penny Pincher By Sven&Cup
Multi CoaledHearted By CraigRat
Unknown Men In Black Holes By SG-3
Letterbox Rolf's Letterbox By membsec

Part of team GoldJ and I left home this morning to grab a couple of caches on my last day here this time. We park the car and start the rugged 700 metres walk to the cache it was a beautiful day and so clean that we could see for miles. Even to Old Beach where we started the day from. I located the cache and completed the signing duties.
However the weather changed and we found ourselves walk back in SNOW. yes SNOW. It was unbelievable amazing. There were large flakes of snow settling on my tshirt. It was not that cold. But it was truly beautiful. One of the best experiences in my life. TFTC and the wonderful experience. I will
Be travelling to Seattle in May and hope to finish the rest of Hobart to Hobart

Find 5050 (according to groundspeak - incl. labcaches), find 5000 (according to any other caching-guru-organisations).

After more or less stumbling upon Part A of this Hobart-Hobart TransPacific Multi-cache, it was clear that I wanted to give Part B a go, too. rakis2 quickly responded to my mail and soon informations were sent across the pacific in order to complete the two sets of coordinates. Today I wanted to finish and went for a walk in order to sign this log. After a longer walk and a short search, everything was replaced as found.

thanks heaps Snuva and FunnyNose for this great idea, and thanks a lot rakis2 for the much appreciated missing info!

...and just to add yet another continent: greetings from Switzerland / Europe Big Grin

24-Oct-16
Greetings from the "other" side of the planet. I have the part 1 information you might need and would like to find someone with the part a information Im going to need, so please feel free to drop me a line and we can partner up! Rakis2

08-Jun-16
Thanks to gsbarnes in the States for info on that end.

22-May-16
Gathered the necessary info frim part A and then got contacted by two Washington state cachers Cachenscary and Gearguru as they had recently got the info from part 1 in the US. We gladly provided the info they needed and they reciprocated. So today one of us went to the final location. Got to GZ and there were so many places it could be hidden. I tried in many of them. The gps wasn't cooperating as it wasn't settling and there was no hint which made it more difficult. Probably searched for half an hour to no avail. Will have to come back with reinforcements. Great idea. TFTC

Cheers from Washington State, the center of the known geocaching universe!

Yesterday, gearguru and I found the U.S. Part 1 of this Transpacific endeavor. So we have the Tas and WA Passwords at the ready; the Tas East Coordinate for Part 2 on that side of the Pacific, the Tas Parking Coords and a hint for the final.

Is there a cacher over there who wants to share the info found in the Tas Part 1 with us?

27-Apr-16
Finally got around to looking for the Washington part of this, and have the info. Anyone on the other side of the pacific want to trade info?

26-Jan-16
The Bear has had this one solved and the final co-ords for over 2 years now but hasn't spent much time caching near GZ. Today, with an event nearby, some free time before lunch and it being Australia Day, it was time to finally grab this one. After searching a couple of possible spots, the Bear spied a good spot from a short distance away and thought....'I wonder!'. Yep, it sure was. I remember enjoying solving this cache almost as much as finding it today. Tftc.

09-Nov-15
Had found Part A the first time we came to visit our geo-daughter in Tas but at that time did not get a reply from Canada. When we moved here we vowed to complete the task so earlier this year we retraced our steps and located A yet again. This time we got a quick response and had the coords in our hands. Today we had a great walk in to GZ and located the cache after looking in a number of potential hiding places. A little celebration was held as we had at last achieved our goal and had also found a rarely visited cache. All is in really good order. This is a good idea and works well.

Looking for Washington coords and password. The last cacher says the Washington information is missing. Can the CO advise?

29-Jul-14
I will be in the Seattle/Hobart area in 10 days and would like to trade information with a Tasmanian cacher so we can both find our finals. Please email me if you are interested. Thanks. Tumbleweed2

29-Jul-14
Hi Tumbleweed2, I'd love to be you Hobart, Tasmania buddy but unfortunately when I found Part A, the part of the cache with the require information for Part B was missing (only the crew top was still in place and the bottom with all info was nowhere to be found). I hope someone else is able to assist you.

Happy cache hunting. Cheers, Fredd01

01-Feb-14
Part A was completed 5 months ago but took a while to recieve info to continue. Have had that for a while but knew it would be interesting with goekids to get to GZ. Today they were quite receptive and we took the difficult but short way to GZ. GPS were not agreeing with eachother so we were searching 2 closeby areas when the egg gave the familiar cry of ' found it'. What relief! Thanks for this interesting double!

10-May-13
Is there anybody over there looking for a partner in crime to complete this cache? I have the info from stage one!

Drop me a line and I'd be happy to participate!

Found with OldSaint thanks to correspondence with sproutter and JustMike. Just hedging our bets Smile Difficult find, but we got there eventually. TFTC Snuva.

04-Sep-12
Hi Snuva
Had found Part A a long time ago but the relavent information for Part B was missing.
Went back to check Part A just check if that information had been placed back in that cache. Further disappointment as only the cache cap remains at Ground Zero.
Never thought I was going to get the relevant information to complete this cache. But you should never let a positive opportunity pass without taking it.
Hence; today, I had arranged a caching trip with wilco and GoldJ. When GoldJ said that he was headed for this cache (Part B) I asked if he wanted a walking partner and the answer was yes.
Hence a find was made in his company at 1602hrs.
Great views especially on such a nice day as it was today.
TFTC and cheers
OldSaint.

Hey all, I'm from Washington State and have the information needed for this cache, if you want to team up let me know.

23-Jun-12
After swapping some details with "benandjayme" some time ago I finally made it to this cache today. I must admit I initially thought this was an odd location for the cache, but upon arrival at GZ it all made perfect sense. Thank you for this cache - it was something a bit different and well worthwhile!

22-Apr-12
Hi all, I'm a Washington cacher with the data from the Washington side of this one. Drop me a note if you'd like to coordinate a find. Thanks!

01-Apr-12
After completing the first part of this cache and obtaining the required information from the other side of the Pacific some time ago, we finally took the time to head out and log this cache. At GZ the GPS led us astray for quite a while until it settled down and gave us the correct location. TFTC!

11-Mar-12
It's been a long time since getting the information.
A lovely idea.
Thanks for the cache.

06-Mar-12
We also have the info from Hobart, WA, USA and would love to partner up with a cacher in Tasmania to find the final!

11-Feb-12
Just found the Hobart USA part 1 cache information after driving by the cache every day on my comute to and from work. Could someone please send me the information for the second part of the cache as I have the info that you will need. Thanks

08-Feb-12
Well that was something special! It took some effort to find Part A but I got there in the end, and then I got the rest of the details without too much difficulty but managed to keep forgetting that I had it already! I'd go to do something about it and then rediscover that I had them after all. In any event, that was years ago and today I finally made the time to complete this cache.

I was walking along the track with my GPSr in my pocket as it had been raining, when I suddenly looked up and was blown away by the view. I stopped in my tracks and just soaked it in. After a minute or two I started thinking, "there really should be a cache here". I even started thinking about opportunistically placing a cache there (which is not something I would ordinarily do) when I remembered that I was actually on my way to another cache.... I pulled out my GPSr and discovered that I was 4m away from it!!

I was delighted to find the cache in great condition and chock full of swaps. I wish more caches were like this! Thanks for the awesome cache!

A very fitting cache for our 2000th find. A puzzle to solve, cooperation between cachers on opposite sides of the world, and really enjoyable walk in a highly valued area - typifies what geocaching is about. Thanks Snuva for a great caching experience.

To mid quote the rock (I have been watching some wwe lately for laughs). Finally budgietas has found the trans pacific multi cache part b. This cache took me a while to find. One visit to the gz was a failure due to not having the hint and unconfirmed (I left them at home and tried to go on memory). This visit I was prepared and the cache was a very quick find. Found this cache after a walk from strickland avenue to pottery road, collecting caches on the way. Had a good time with many walks up hills and down dales. Had a good walk and talk with a non geo cacher mate, who was happy to accompy me on a hike.

I collected the clues during my last visit to Hobart back in January. I ran out of time to search for it back then, and so used the opportunity tonight to find it. My PDA was updated just before I left, but I hadn't realised that at the time it was listed as unavailable.

Fortunately, in the interim, it had been replaced. So when I looked I found it. I don't normally get down to Hobart often (the time before last being 3.5 years ago) and not having transport, I probably won't attempt the following cache, but I did take down the details just in case. Thanks for the cache.

We traveled a long way to get this one and enjoyed the walk to the final. I only wish it hadn't been foggy so we could have really appreciated the view. Closed our eyes and used our imagination. Thanks so much, Snuva & FunnyNose, for putting this together. Now it's back to Washington to finish the final there.

There was such a great feeling of accomplishment here as I gathered the information for the final almost 3 years ago and promptly lost it over the intervening years.
I almost gave up on it but after some effort I regained what I needed and snuva confirmed things had not changed since then so I headed off today with some confidence.
This was the first of 6 or 7 caches done on a big walk today and an inspiring place.
Thanks to Snuva and Funny nose

All I can say is wow! This was one of my favourite and most memorable caches for the trip. After completing part A on my last visit 3 years ago I'd sat on the info for a little while. I had to revisit this trip to double check one bit of info but it was all ok.

While visiting the Mountain today I was excited about finishing it and was not disappointed. After visiting the top of the mountain I was a little worried about the weather conditions I would face today, but this walk was quite the opposite. The weather was still, the birds were singing, it was warm, and the views were amazing.

I snapped a couple of photos and took my time walking back to take in the experience.

A wonderful cache, just wonderful.

Many thanks,

R - B (with a little international help)

We parked about 1km down the road from the recommended parking area, thinking this would be quicker (well, it is a lot closer!).
After a very steep climb, which seemed to be near vertical, over boulders and trees, we came across a path which was the one we probably should have taken to begin with.
It didn't help that Mrs DnA! was wearing her high heeled boots!
Once at the GZ it was a nice quick find.
Fantastic views. Thanks for a challenging cache Snuva and FunnyNose. TNLN

We did the first part months, if not years, ago. Sog contacted "hydnsek" just today and exchanged the required passwords and info. That coincided with rather good weather, so off we went.
AND we forgot the camera, so naturally every bird we passed was posing right in front of us, the view was fantastic, and we saw a Tasmanian Tiger close up....
OK, that last bit was an exageration, but things did seem to conspire to be rather more photogenic than normal.
Took glow stick, left Don River Railway badge.
We're glad to have this fabulous cache finally completed.
Thanks Snuva, Funnynose (and hydnsek).

Gathered Part A over four months ago and obtained the rest of the information from my Trans Pacific friend a few months later.
Conferred with gspblu that our information was the same last night and off we went.
We took our time walking to GZ and stopped several times to enjoy the amazing view.
At 10.45pm we logged our find, took numerous photos and soaked up the sights of this wonderful place we live Big Grin
