I took the scenic route from Alexandra to Cromwell today, I managed to collect most the caches along the way as well as spotting some very cute tiny lambs I wasnt quite up for the hike but 4WDing, yes We managed to get the vehicle pretty close and then it was a nice quick find. I added my name to the log and replaced as found. Thanks for the cache
I have been up here on a nice day and the views are great. This was not one of those days. A quick find. Thanks
Thanks for the cache roryworsfold. The views were amazing. Quick find of this cache today but there was other people here when I arrived so took a few photos and they left. Yah time to have a look for another cache up here
First time up this hill. A beautiful calm clear day to enjoy! Don’t have much time but definitely want to return to here for a bit more exploration
We almost didn't bother to come up for this cache, we have a 4x4, but it had a slide on camper on the back, so we were concerned we'd not make it. A pretty good road though & the view was worth coming up for. The cache was an easy find, thanks for placing this one.
Wow!! What a view. Never been up high this side. Not sure I want to bring the van up that road again as is a bit steep for it but for once was worth it for the views.
Thank you WilbyWarrior for replacing this cache. Needed a 2nd cache for today to get souvenir.. . So off up to the sky I went to make the blue face a yellow smiley Thanks CO for reactivating

Was getting the nearby caches and decided to have a look at this one as I had a spare container if the hiding spot was obvious. It was and the cache was definitely gone. Great views from up here so replaced the cache and messaged the CO. Got confirmation that this was ok so now can log the find.
Thanks for the cache roryworsfold

Think this cache has been muggled. There was nothing there but you could see where it should have been
Out and about enjoying the history of our country and discovering hidden gems.
This was a DNF.... can see where is should have been but we think it has been muggled

No go for this one either.
It should have been easy but that's how it goes sometimes.
Cheers and thanks, it was well worth the trip anyway

OMG this wasn't the smartest thing I have ever done. I got to the top to collect the cache up there and read the blurb about the cache and where to find it and realised I probably shouldn't have driven up this far. My car had crawled in low gear up some of the hills but made it and once at the top and I had finished celebrating I realised I needed to get back down again! Gulp! Big anxiety moment.
Surely easier said than done.
After grabbing that cache I drove down to here and was pleased that it went ok. As long as I stayed in low I was fine.
Hopping out I collected the cache and continued down to the Lookout where I am writing this. I drive a 2wd Toyota Rav and it usually does me well and today was no exception. Now to collect the cache here and then back down to terra firma by the river where I can kick myself for my stupidity.
I might have made it but at what risk!

This morning we visited Clyde and searched this cache on the hill. The road is in good condition but to step for our small car. Thanks for the cache and the great views!
On the way home after finding the elusive creatures in Central Otago. This was so worth the effort in the 4wd. What a view!!!
A nice drive to pick up this one
We are on a winter road trip to track down all of the hidden creatures and find the elusive world turtle and one more step closer to my 1000 th cache.

Thyme smelling great today.

We were in the area for the weekend and thought the higher terrain caches would be a great idea to find seeing as the weather is go good. What a stunning view from up here! I could just stay and look for hours. TFTC
So glad we had 4wd for this one, don't think my unfit body would have survived the trek up, especially in this heat. Thanks for the view, never seen Clyde and the dam from this vantage point before.
An easy find on the way back down the hill. Almost stepped on a desiccated possum on the way back to the car.

Staying in Clyde for the holidays so headed into the hills above for a bit of exploring. Great views! TFTC
Nice day out geocaching today. Lovely views from up here. Dropped off a TB. TFTC
Another awesome Otago view. It would have been worth the walk but unfortunately I was burdened with the 4wd and had to take it with me.
Well have an opp on my shoulder about 4 weeks ago and still got about 4 weeks to go before I'm back at work so I thought I would come visit some friends in Cromwell for a few days so was a great time to find a few caches so while on the Nevis we went over the hawksburn to get a cache or 2. This one was probably the best view of all the GZs that I have been to today. TFTC ☺
Admired the amazing view and Mr Daywalk interpreted the codes on the pylon- Roxburgh to Clyde to Twizel, I think it was. We looked at the electricity grid display in the Alexandra Museum with a lot of interest after being here!
Absolutely fantastic view and worth the walk!
TFTC roryworsfold!

Vews great and handy to another cashe so worth doing while up in the hills. Easy hint thanks
I was glad I had my 4X4 with me as it is a rather rough track to the cache location. Not really suitable for a standard car. With a weather front approaching rapidly, I quickly signed the log, and dashed back to my car then decided not to press on further as rain was falling steadily. A cache further up the hill beckond, but I gave it away in the prevailing conditions. Another day maybe.
This four wheel drive up the range was fantastic. Veiws to die for.Did not realise this road joined the Nevis.
