Great views on a very windy day!! I was pleased to have extra layers handy to counter the wind chill. TFTC!!
Trouve ! / Found it ! 4550me cache trouve.Merci cach'em'all pour la cache 4550th cache found.Thank you cach'em'all for the cache
Staying in the area with SJT_NZ so headed over to Bulwer for the morning and grabbed this on the way, a few slips from recent heavy rains but always beautiful views across the outer sounds, cloudy and a chill breeze but that keeps the mossies under control. Thanks cach'em'all all in good order.
A quick find with Tregearp whilst spending the weekend in the region. All quiet at the GZ. Signed log and replaced as found. Thanks for the cache.
On our return trip from Bulwer now. Stopped of at Port Ligar to checkout these rocks. Short search before locating the correct rock. to get this one snagged and tagged. Cheers
Bulwer and French Pass are on my radar to explore today, with the Seagnoid and Toby along for the ride. Left home at 6am and finally crawled back home at 9.30 having dinner at Okiwi Bay before leaving the sounds. Great views on a beautiful clear day with little wind. Lots of driving and lots of maintenance on this trip.

#7776. Day 2 of my Marlborough geocaching adventure. Have come south for a work meeting but arrived early to do a bit of exploring in a rental car. Today the plan is to drive out to Bulwer and French Pass. Little did I realise at this early stage just how far away those roads were from civilisation and the rather nerve-wracking drives on gravel roads with certain death plunges if you lost concentration and slid off the edge of the road with no protective barrier. Decided to skip most caches on the way out and pick up more on the way back if I had time. Replaced any wet or tatty log sheets with fresh waterproof paper if needed. Mission accomplished at Bulwer and heading back slowly to civilisation. Stopped here to pick up the cache.
Great views from this spot in both directions. Fortunately the wind had eased back from when I passed by here before lunch. Headed up to the rocks and after checking under quite a few of them finally located the cache. Its not in great condition unfortunately. Needed to go back to the car to get a replacement waterproof logsheet. Signed the logbook and returned the cache where found. Thanks cach'em'all for the cache. Good to pick up an older one on this road.
Happy palindrome day! 02-02-2020 is the first global palindrome date since 11-11-1111 (909 years ago).

Crikey - 3rd dnf in a row for us. The hint object was really obvious but only found a takeaway box and a V drink can where we thought the cache would be ...... bogan muggles maybe? Had a good second look but nothing for us today.
This long weekend Jojo and I headed off to French Pass for a spot of caching and camping. 3 days, great weather and some stunning views. Sorry for the cut and past bit, and thanks to all cache owners.
Day two: After a pretty rough night's sleep, we couldn't really wait to get on the track. Seems the campsite had been overbooked so our tent was on a car park with a slight slope that soon became the talking point with our friendly neighbours. That and us being a sleeping bag short. So we got prepped early knowing that Capperz was going to meet us at 10.00am, and being a good forces bloke he won't be late, which of course, he wasn't.
The target today was the road to Bulwer and a few caches Capperz had unfinished business with around French Pass, then for Jojo and I an afternoon tea with her auntie at Elsie Bay, a catch up on the cricket and a hoover up of any caches back to FP. And overall it was a successful day - all targeted caches found, a cricket win over Oz (as well as Forest over Villa - sorry Capperz!) and some good chat on the trip and back at camp.
TFTC Jeepers Creepers. Great drive out here.

Todays plan was a return trip to French Pass after our whirlwind trip over there on New years Day (or should that be hurricane-strength trip?) Leaving home at 0700 on what promised to be a hot day of over 30 degrees I had a timing to be met and, being a good military man, was determined not to be late to meet up with caching buddies Ricardinho.nz and Jojo over at the French Pass camp-site. Together we grabbed the few missing caches of mine from the French Pass area, then a road-trip to the end of the road at Bulwer. 16 caches found and some beautiful views along the way too, nice.
Container was crushed but log was dry so that was all good. Nice big rocks here and great views all around

On our way from Bulwer to Okiwi - finding caches along the way - we commented about these rocks on our way in last night when it was blowing a gale and freezing cold. This morning however was the complete opposite - calm, clear and absolutely beautiful in the sounds - we stayed here for quite a while just taking in the view and silence tftc
It's freezing up here. While the sun was shining and no clouds about, the wind was still very strong from the south and recent snow fall making for a high wind chill factor. I was glad to get back in the car. The container is broken although contents still ok.

As we were driving from Bulwer, a trail bike passed us heading in the opposite direction. When we stopped near GZ, another (or was it the same?) bike came up beside and we spoke to the driver. He thought he weren't locals as we were driving so slowly! We had an interesting chat with him, he worked locally at Waterfall Bay (mussel farm there?). He had heard of geocaching too.
Enjoyed the 360 degree views from here, though it was pretty windy today. Cache was a quick find, but the container has been squashed. We removed some of the swaps as there wasn't much room in the re-shaped container, and will place them in another cache.
Thanks for bringing us here. TFTC.

#9530. GZ is an excellent viewpoint, but we didn't linger too long as there was a chilly breeze today. TFTC.
[green] Hired a car to tour the far north. Amazing views and scary lopes down to certain death. What a fantastic road! And a great landscape here.
Alas, as with many caches with a rock on top, the container is crushed. It is a pity that geocachers do not take care to look after their finds. I made the hole larger by using bigger side rocks, hopefully to avoid the problem getting worse. Really needs a new container, but alas, my main cache kit is elsewhere. Love the toys, so few caches in marlborough have them.
Re the landscape: rocks on top means gaps underneath. Caves! Of course that does not include any prediction about finding the entrances...
Great views, will post photos tomorrow.

One of a few drive by caches we picked up on the way out to the Bluwer Driveby. We stopped at some nice spots with great views. The road was narrow and rough in places and the logging trucks certainly zip about the place. A few hazards with sheep and one deer. Quick finds. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

Its always quite special finding these older caches as they were always placed in special places. The views were fantastic and they just kept on coming for the whole of the drive. TFTc #6175
The drizzle stayed away long enough for me to find and sign the log. No views today with low cloud. The container is pretty munted but contents were reasonably dry. If I'd read previous logs i would have brought a spare one. TFTC

As we reached the top of the hill the latest squall blew over the top of the hill and the rain lulled a little so Stretch0 ventured out to grab the cache - the lid on the cache is broken - unfortunately cause we were meant to be on a fishing weekend we didnt have any caching gear with us !!! log signed and cache returned - got a few glimpses of the amazing scenery on our way back - thanks for the cache
TFTC! I found your cache today and i will do a complete log when I get back to my computer.

The tub is very squashed and needs replacing. Maybe the next cachers up that way could take another tub with them.

Today was earmarked to come out this way to complete requirements for BGSc 301 and to pick up the other caches in the area. It was certainly a long drive but very enjoyable although I think I had the better option being a passenger and able to admire the views while Hazedarus had to concentrate on driving. We are still wondering if the only other vehicle we saw on the trip in was another cacher, both of us having decided immediately it wasn't a local because the vehicle was too clean! We were therefore not surprised to note that 3 of the 4 caches we found out here had also been signed earlier this morning. As we got to this cache a bit of bitterly cold wind decided to make it's presence known so we didn't hang about too long to take in the view. TFTC.
Today was the day. Up at the crack of dawn for an expedition caching with Holymu. Needed one for a challenge and shortlisted a few extras to make the trip worthwhile. I can't say how pleased I am to have finally had an excuse to go to the end of the road. Bright sun and slight breeze we thought but cutting through multiple layers with ferocity when we ventured in exposed places. We passed a bright shiny vehicle, in fact so shiny it was commented: "that can not be a local". At GZ coords proved spot on and the cache was soon in hand and log signed. Only half surprised we noted the log was already signed today It was a good caching day that brought us to places that many people only dream of. TFTC
Sorry for the repeat log at the start but there are 3 CO’s we need to thank.
Sometimes it is the destination – today was all about the journey. Mrs SoBad had been eyeing the caches in this area since there were two – and then there were four. Some new ones on the way and she checked the weather forecast. And persuaded SoBad that he wanted a day of car caching!! We had a fabulous time going to an area that only caching would have alerted us to. As she had expected we would as we love the trip to French Pass. Once we left the seal we saw 2 cars on the road, 5 cows on the road, hawks in the thermals, wekas, robins and quail and even one deer. And wonderful views that Mrs enjoyed the most as SoBad was driving. But enough photo stops for him as well. Sun and NO wind all morning – clouds in the afternoon but that made some of the views more interesting. Thanks for your cache that was one of the 4 that gave us one of our best caching days.
We stopped here to collect the cache - and take photos in the sun. When we returned for our picnic lunch (there was no cafe at Bulwer!!) the clouds had moved in but we still enjoyed the views as much as our lunch. As others have said, the container is a bit squashed but the log is fine. Thanks for your cache which was the first placed in this great area.

Our third find on the road to Bulwer. Fish weren't biting so we decided to explore and do some geocaching TFTC
4+ years of caching and I have finally found an excuse to come out this way. It's quite a commitment for a tiki tour! TFTC
Was hoping to go out to Port Ligar itself but this is private property and the paper road gate was locked shut. Picked this one up after a quick detour down to the bustling metropolis of Bulwer. Very windy this morning but a quick find. Cache container (looks like an old peanut butter jar) is a little battered and probably needs replacing. Was the drive worth it? YES. The views out this way are stunning, particularly back to Pelorus Sound and the Chetwode and D'Urville Islands. TFTC
We were at Anatori last week, one end of a long road and here we are at the other end this week.
Blowing a gale up on the ridge. My glasses left my face very quickly as I alighted from the car.

loved the veiws the weather change for the better on our way back from bulwer container damaged but log is dry tftc
Picked this one up on a trip to Bulwer. Good drive. Cache container is looking a bit squashed! Might pay to pop out some time and replace it Good one, thanks.
Literally blowing a gale up here. It was quite surprising how sheltered all the other spots I had been to, and went to later on, were as there was hardly a breath of wind in other areas. The container has been crushed by the rocks here, but for all that, things are dry. TFTC.
worker visits all these bays quite often, but has never been down the road past Cissy before. By the time we got to the cache, she delcared she is going to stick to her usual transport arrangements. It sure is a long (pleasant) drive. Good cache
The wind was very strong it blew one of us off the road. We should have gone up not down. We had an interesting time in the area ever though the weather was terrible. TFTC
Wow this has to be one of the more remote caches accessible by road in this region. One which has been here for a while with few finds only to prove very popular in the past month, go figure. Visited with Kiwi Explorer we drove on for a bit past this to try and find the lost city of Bulwer... TFTC, Biggles.
Found with Biggles while on a trip to French Pass and back. Lot's of space out here, really enjoyed the view of Durville Island today. After a bite of lunch at gz we headed down to check out the Metropolis of Bulwer. TFTC.
The last for the day and we hope to be home before midnight but well worth the effort TFTC
Everything still fine - the cache, the sheep, the landscape. Thanks for this - a day well spent driving our van out there and on until the end of the road. (Must be more fun with an adequate vehicle, though.)
While staying in Port Ligar I couldn't miss that one out. It got a bit deformed under the rock but is otherwise still ok.
'Wow' too much space out here. I was pretty virtigo white colour during the drive out. Only 2nd finder in almost three years! Wow again. Cache still in pretty good condition. No swaps. Cheers.
Found it OK and all's well, a long drive but the views are great combined it with the other caches in the area, had a magic day nice and sunny ( first for a week they local told me
which was great to keep the dust down ) no wind and the water was like glass One thing though I had to use the clues as the CPS location was 14 meter out in the grass. I made it
S40.55.252 (was 254) E173.56.925 (was 925) still easy to find with the clues, I didn't not want to not find it after driving so far
