Finally, a really sunny day! Lovely spot, stunning view. Great cache thanks!
TFTC! From Singapore beautiful little spot with a great view at one of the nicest beaches Ive come across in my trip
Easy to find and absolutely stunning views. Loved getting my feet wet in the cool clean water. TFTC love from Singapore.
After attending a CITO I headed off to do an Adventure Lab and find a couple of caches. I kept bumping into SteMicMitSar on my travels and then the two of us took the walk to this cache.A beautiful day for a walk along the beach. Shame I didnt bring my togs!! Im just glad that the dinosaurs ?? ?? are long gone.I certainly didnt know ?? roamed around Victoria when it was darker and colder than what it is today.Thank you for the interesting history lesson.TFTC pprassKeep smiling ??
*Found on the 20 Oct 2024 @ 2:45pm.**Cache find # 15902.* After attending the CITO and event earlier on, it was now time to head out and find a few caches and AdLabs as I was making my way to Cape Paterson. After crossing paths a few times today with Jolly, we decided to head to this one together, making our way down the many steps and a cross the very nice beach here, we soon found ourselves in the GZ area, with a couple of steps up from the beach the cache was soon in hand, with the log now signed, we made our way back along the beach and up the many steps to the top.**Thanks to pprass for keeping the game going by placing this cache.**
I am slowly targeting any geocache older than 2006, and somehow I had missed this Eagles Nest one last time I was in Inverloch. I am also working on a number of challenges. One that I don't qualify for is having 2 "Event" types in every month. Before last week, I had every month completed except October, in which I had never attended any event. As such, today's plan was to attend the Inverloch event and get the old geocache. Lovely day for it, and knowing that the Phillip Island Grand Prix was on, we left early. While Huntress went off on a run along the beach foreshore, 999HK and I went geocaching before the events.Obviously, we tackled this oldie first and then went for a play on the rocks. Thanks for the cache, pprass.Hunter
Nice walk along the beach and nice & easy find. We went dinosaur fossil hunting 1km down the beach and instead of finding fossils we found an archived geocache that had been missing. Think this was pretty cool find. Thanks for this cache!!!
Nice day to hit the beach did this cache first to sign new log thank you for replacing it
Thanks to surefoot24 and The_Evil_Muggle for travelling a fair distance from their home in Phillip Island to replace the cache which oddly disappeared - how that happens is a mystery as the cache is well into the scrub! There are now just 11 caches that are still active that were placed in December 2005, so it was important for this one to continue.I also thank Bunjil for his patience in allowing me to the time to find a cacher who could check/replace the cache.
We went out today to replace this missing cache by request of CO who is currently in WA. Best weather weve had for a while, so we took the opportunity today. Perfect weather for a walk on the beach , but gee those steps are tough to climb back up to the top! Unfortunately theres been a lot of beach erosion here, as along all the beaches. I suspect that GZ is now a lot closer to the beach than when it was first placed. You now have to scramble up a small (1.5m) cliff to get to GZ from the beach. Probably not a clever thing to do if you want to preserve the beach.
A local cacher was contacted in May who said that she would check on the cache. I have contacted her 3 times since and she keeps saying that she will go soon to check on it.I'll contact here again, but if nothing happens in the next two weeks I'll archive it.Peter
----------### **OWNER MAINTENANCE REQUESTED PLEASE** ###----------Hi there pprass,It looks like this cache might need some attention, as one or more seekers have indicated there is some sort of issue. The recent logs may contain more details about what sort of issues are evident. The cache has been [**temporarily disabled**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=235), so as to remove it from search listings and discourage people from visiting this location, until the issues/s can be addressed.**You do need to respond in some way within 14 days,** so others know you are on top of it, as well as indicating exactly what is happening with this placement - please don't let a lack of communication scuttle this listing.#What you need to do:-#You have a number of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:-- **Check On The Cache** - once checked, place an Owner Maintenance log and then enable the cache.- **Place A Write Note Log** - indicating a date when you expect it will be restored. - **Adopt Out or Archive** - depending on whether you want it kept or for it to disappear.Full details for each of the above choices can be found at [**GEOCACHE MAINTENANCE**]( https://wiki.groundspeak.com/display/GEO/Victoria) on the Regional Policies page. You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of the above. Well, when the cache is next checked by a Reviewer, if the issue has not been addressed, or there is no acknowledgment as requested above, it will be assumed the cache has been abandoned. It would be far better if you decide, so please do something before then. Please don't send an email but instead follow the information/advice posted above. Thanks for your cooperation,Bunjil (Pete & Helen)Volunteer Reviewers - Australia[3B]
Not sure where the last person found it... but I Checked everywhere, for over an hour. Checked where it was in previous photo logs, searched a wider area, even dug around in the dirt and it's Definitely not where it should be. Will try again another day but im doubtful. Hopefully it hasn't been taken Beautiful views though!
Looked all over but couldn't seem to find it looked at all comments and it's definitely not were it meant to be
A quick and easy find today, and after finding the cache at the eagles nest lookout, a nice walk along the beach to stretch our legs and to find another cache was great. added a little more camo but the cache is very exposed. don't look at the picture on the most recent log before us as it gives away the cache's exact location. cache could do with a bit of a cleanout as well. But TFTC pprass.#86
Was in town with my rover crew for the weekend so decided to pickup a few caches while in townquick find TFTC
Holiday time means a camping trip to Inverloch. We spent the morning exploring rock pools and dinosaur trails. A nice wander here then a scramble. Easy find and nice to tick an older cache off the list. Thanks for the fun and adventure
Love the oldies couldn't resist... trying to find this cache while I was in the area.. beautiful walk along the beach on this blustery windy day.
Beautiful perspective I haven't seen before. In fact, I had no idea how long Eagle's Nest was until on the ground. Great cache and container is solid, logbook a tiny bit damp though.
Thanks for bringing us out further to explore.
Thanks for bringing us out further to explore.
TFTC. Nice walk been here many times but never walked to the end of the beach.
#2031. I visited near this area a few months ago on a cold, blustery and wet day and decided that this one would definitely have to wait for a nicer day. That nicer day has now arrived and it was a nice stroll along the beach until my gps said turn left . 20 secs later I was “27 metres” from the cache and I thought, surely not, when I looked at the terrain I would have to traverse. This is a 2 star terrain not 4 or more! I extricated myself from the vegetation and returned to the beach. The gps had a chance of heart and this time lead me somewhere more reasonable. In no time I had the cache in hand. TNLNSL. TFTC pprass.
Smoothed stones/ and perhaps bones. We braved the waves for this geo- cave. Lovely spot, thanks!
Second day ever of family geocaching. Thought we'd hunt for this one while on holidays. Thanks for the reason to walk up the beach...got a good view of eagles nest on the way back. Thanks!
Quick easy fine on a beautiful day in this part of the world. A very sheltered beach. TFTC
For some reason I spent 20 minutes looking up in the trees but eventually found it in plain sight..
Visited with a toy dinosaur named Jeremy. We are educating him about his family history!
Merry Christmas and thanks for the cache
Merry Christmas and thanks for the cache
Beautiful quiet beach. Timed for low tide so I could walk around the Eagles Nest - fell on my butt in the process. Thank you. Found by me this time
Found it was a bit out in the open and where it was looked like a bit of a track. I did tuck I about more in to a bushy bit so sorry if it makes a bit harder.
