I can't get to repair this cache so am archiving it to leave the space for someone else.
Found remnants. Unfortunately my pocket query was run off before it was disabled.
Sorry I'm not close by to fix this so am temporarily disabling until it can be replaced.
Found the remnants of wet logbook. Went back to the car and placed inside a plastic bag. Left in the crook of a tree closest to the GZ. Given last post, this will require maintenance. TFTC
on holiday went looking for caches. Found lid hanging around but not cannister. Think we had right place. Been recent ground work there

Found the cache after some searching.....part of the clue is incorrect which narrowed our search area too much. Expanded the search frame and was successful.
Thanks for the location.

This was the first cache of the last day of holidays. We where here in the New Year but failed. Gleamed a clue, and took a few minutes this time. I liked the challange!

This was our first find - yippee. Found by a Whakatane resident and American fiancé - what a cool way to explore a country.
Clever hide. GPS took us to the general area and K's skill did the rest. TNLN TFTC
A nice garden in town. Found area of trees easily but finding the cache proved to be not as easy as it was difficult to get an accurate reading with GPS while under cover. Youngest member of our team came across cache by accident while walking around the trees. TFTC.
We really enjoyed our walk in this lovely park. Found the Island of trees easy enough but once close to GZ the GPS was of little help so we simply started looking in the obvious spots which of course were all the wrong spots. In the end we went a bit further off the path then the suggested 2 meters and bingo got it. TNLNSL Left with a smile. Thanks for the cache.
0paco0 and Red found it at 11:20am after leaving their cabin which is not far from here.

Got stuck on the wrong of the moat but not game to wade across nice hide as it was a great place to have a rest from the sun and heat. Cheers TNLN
Rumo and Rala were on their way to the East Cape for a short vacation and did some geocaching in-between.
Grumble, we searched and searched and searched high and low and higher and lower and still no cache. We must have overlooked something. Well, you can't always have good luck...

(127) Yay, lovely park that neither of us knew existed. challenging little hide but Boots got it after about 10 mins of searching.
Probably more like 4m from the track and the camo seems to have washed of.
All in all a great cache to finish the day on - thanks .

A tricky one to find, took a bit of looking and much thinking but eventually found your devious hide . Rather pleased to avoid a DNF [^]

Last cache today, getting dark. Freaked out a little dog with our head-light, bark!! bark!! bark!! a frustrated and embarrassed owner had to finally come to the rescue. Turned around and there it was, almost poked my eye out!! Sneaky!

Found it second time around, GPS kept me going around in circles for a bit but eventually found it. Good Cache
Ah Hah...!!!!
I didn't want this one to beat me so after finishing with client I came back here for another look...
Hmmm 2 metres huh.. lets do this scientifically...
Pace... 1... 2... hunt.. poke.. prod... mumble mumble..
Ok.. maybe they have "BIG" steps...
PACE... ONE.... TWO...
Its gotta be here somewhere....................
THREE... FOUR....
Ah HAH!!!!! I see you..... They must have really big steps.
XC found on his own.. without the twitchy whiskers of TK...
Well placed..
Signed the log.
Replaced pleased I didn't have to register another DNF.

Mumble mumble... I hate DNF's...
Came here at lunch today for hopefully an easy find.. But to no avail.. My GPSr kept taking me to one spot but nothing. Widened the search but to no avail.
Went back after work on client site... spent another half hour trying to find.. nothing.. mumble mumble.
There was recent Arborist activity so maybe its gone.. but knowing my luck without Technokitten it is likely there.
Another time maybe.
Cheers.

ChivasNZ checked out the cache a couple of days ago and we're pleased to say it is still just where it should be.
Wow, that's a tricky one! GPS had us at the right spot but failed to find it. Thanks to YuGeo4 for sending me a pic of what the cache looked like. Gave me a bit of a clue by the angle of the supporting spar.

TFTC - Very clever and good hide..

We eventually found it, this has to be the hardest one so far for us to find. Great place, the boys had a good play in the playground afterwards. Thanks
First for the day. Good hide, easy find, eaten alive by mozzies whilst retrieving cache. TNLNSL [TFTC #19]
Finally found it. Almost gave up. Tricky. Clue was correct - 2m from path and eye level. Don't give up - it is there.

Now that I'm back home and can read the recent logs I see that this cache does in fact still seem to be there and be findable, but I couldn't spot it even after spending lots of time looking over a couple (or was it three?) different visits (the first one being on the 16th). I did find two 20 cent coins (on different visits) both underneath what appeared to be a possible hiding spot so wondered if it had perhaps been muggled. I'm sure I had studied every tree in that whole "island" from close range but obviously not carefully enough. But then again, I managed to lose a large white hat immediately after this first visit so maybe my mind/eyesight is starting to go...
Well we looked & looked, reverted to the clue, & looked & looked. Must have studied every tree in the island!!! Thought about it some more & yes there it was. Thanks for a great cache & location.
Island of trees the name says it all....easy find and fun location..found with T&M..TFTC TNLNSL
We looked for a while but with patchy coverage on the GPS we sadly didn't have much luck. The kids did love the playground and had a ride on the miniature railway so we were happy anyway. Thanks for showing them to us.
Lovely spot for a nice walk or even just to visit the ducks and their babies.
Found this cache after a bit of a look around looking for the 'usual' sort of hiding place, I never dreamed I'd find it where it was. Nice work.
Thanks for the cache!

Great spot for an afternoon walk. Took a while to find but got there in the end. TFTC SL
Took the longer scenic route via the railway, but we got there. GPS spot on. 1st of 12 for the day.
Took a bit of hunting around for this one but found it finally. Great hidding place. Didnt like the water "feature" much though lol
Finally got around to hunting out this cache. Had some time to kill while waiting for my muffler to be repaired nearby. Took me a little while to locate but in the end there it was.. The distance mentioned in the clue may be a couple short. Thanks for the cache.
A great hide - simple, but well placed to be hidden yet in full view of passersby (if they only knew). A quick visit while we were visiting our daughter who is only just around the corner. TFTC.
We found this with KIWINWPB. Actually very hard without a GPS! Took us a few hours.
Good hiding spot. Found without GPS. My daughter encrypted message as "2 meteres from park" instead of "2 meteres from path", threw us off a bit.
First of our finds today, on our labour weekend break to Whakatane. Took a bit of searching to get there, we had to keep going out into the open to get a good fix then working our way back in again. Nice little micro.

A quick find, though had to exit the island and pace it in to get correct bearing and distance. A little different from most, and a welcomed change. Thanks.
Tried to find x2, got the general area but couldn't find the actual cache.
Thanks anyway.

We have tried three times to try and find. Will try again next time we are in Whakatane.
Yahoo we found it. Took a good while, just love the camaflage very clever cache well done
The original cache had been cleared up by the gardeners - we think. We have replaced the container in a slightly different location.
Have fun. Ann and Sandra

Cache enabled again Sunday 23 April. Please let us know if you have any problems.
Hmm, 1st NZ DNF. Rather DNBL. had 40ft accuracy as I went under trees and lost signal. Decrypted the clue and decided not to continue. Bit disappointed.
Lovely park, but no luck with this one (I'm sure those ducks were laughing at me). GPS was quite vague near GZ, and we tried several spots but eventually gave in to the fading light. Will have another crack next time we're over this way.
This one proved quite a tricky little one to find.
Co-ordinates had us going to the left of where we actually found it.

Easy to find. We found it undisturbed and were first to write in the visitor log. Lot's of fun participating in this game
