Making our way towards home over the next few weeks travelling with 2 dogs and a cat we have found caching a great way to give the fur babies a break. Thanks to the COs for placing and maintaining.
Someone has changed the cache I think. Not a professional hide. Rather large container for a micro. Log was wet replaced in another ziplock bag. Found with Sarge5556 tftc
Not professionally camo anymore? Small plastic jar, leaking and very wet, need attention. We replaced bag, and dried out a little. tftc with jeffner5556
Leaving Port Lincoln today and heading to Whyalla to hit some of the trails. Enjoying my time over on this side.
Another great old hide! After looking in these spots all day with no success finally this one did it for us. I would say more small than micro but great hide!
My 9th day of my trip heading to and around the Eyre Peninsular. I stayed at Coulta for the last night which was a rainy night then made my way to Port Lincoln then up to Cleve for tonight's camp site. This cache would be find number 28 of 34 for the day and find Number 222 in total for this trip away.
Took a while to put my hand on this find.

Nice easy find here today as we head to the airport.
GreyHams and myself set out on a three day SA caching trip after a super early start to the first day. The best start really though as by 9am and two planes later we had landed in Port Lincoln and into our rental car ready to set off! Local Government areas were our primary target, although many others of interest made the list, oldies, types and DT... Each offered some unique and often spectacular location, if your cache made our list, thank you!
Day 1 saw us landing in Port Lincoln and caching our way up towards Ceduna, a long but productive day saw us driving into Port Augusta just on dark a solid 12 hours after we had set off on the road.
Day 2 and we made the drive north from Port Augusta where we were based for the trip. The scenery on the drive to Roxby Downs changed often from little salt bush plains, shrub, salt lakes and to the amazing vast flat and empty, I loved the vast flat views... always spotting something in the middle of all the nothingness. Emus featured in huge numbers often, red dirt appeared... something I have been seeking so it was great to see it and finally get my feet into it all! Back into Port Augusta we set off for a loop in the south of the Flinders towards Quorn and out to Orroroo before returning just as the sun set to collect the last pizzas just as the shop shut for the day.
Day 3 was our last but just as full, although we only needed to get to Port Lincoln for our plane home late in the day we had many caches of interest plus a few walks along the way so took most of the day to make the distance leaving the odd cache off as we watched the clock!
Each day was full of such varied scenery, all quite stunning in their own way and led to a very enjoyable and fun trip. Thank you for your cache that guided us through the area and helped to highlight some of the great locations we got to visit.

Quick find in an obvious spot.

Aquilus1 & myself on yet another caching mission into South Australia, this time it was to go out west to collect all the LGA's out there.
This area of South Australia is so interesting as you can drive and be in a completely different planet within an hour. Red gums, to mallee scrub, to saltbush, to nothingness and then back again!
STarting and finishing in Port Lincoln, but with Port Augusta as our main base we explored the Eyre Peninsula, east out to Ororroo and north to Roxby Downs. It was a short but fun little trip. Thanks to all the CO's for placing caches

7 m out but ‘rock on’ and you’ll see it! Nice - ye olde tin. Out exploring the trails and sights of the Eyre Peninsula and Enroute to Port Lincoln. Day 16 in SA after numerous trips were sabotaged due to you know what and its a fab day. The Ikera- Flinders Ranges, Whyalla, Port Lincoln and a few in between caches are high on the list along with several other random caches so hoping to tick all boxes before heading back to home base. I’ve learnt theRE are plenty of quality SA caches - plenty to pique the curiosity and anticipation of another surprise or fun cache. TFTC AND THE FUN and the effort to contribute to this fave game.
Another cache found during our 2022 South Australia adventure using Geocaching as our guide.
WOW! Loved the story and intrigue. Sorry to hear of the loss of your home, and I am gussing other homes in 2005.
Thanks Mr Walker.

Port Lincoln to Adelaide road trip.
Day One: Port Lincoln to Cleve.
The East Coast has barely even started drying out but conditions here are perfect.
Roads aren’t busy either.
Thanks to all the COs for making the Eyre Peninsula a great caching destination.
I totally wrong guessed what the hide was going to be here. Hence a lot of looking in the wrong direction. I got there in the end.
Thanks Mr. Walker

After all the water that had obviously run through here, the small container was found at gz, in good condition. Tftc
Didn't get much time to look but if it was down low I think it's been washed away
No ghost stories to share but remember the '05 fires too well. Stay safe stopping next to the highway! TFTC
Been a long time since I could get onto geocaching.com due to retiring and changing email address. Just want to thank the cachers who have maintained this and enjoyed it Great that such a small cache in such an exposed place has lasted so long.
We left Port Lincoln this morning and went wandering north with ilook4geo, picking up some of the caches along the way. Each found log was signed with two more names to mark our visit. Thank you Mr Walker for placing this cache for us to find.
On the road with goinplaces2 and heading toward Tumby Bay. Having a nice slow day with just a few caches. Found what we wanted, signed the logs, all were replaced. Job done! TFTC.
Found this little guy out in the open. Unfortunately the cache container and log didn't escape the rain.
We have put the original log book in a little bag, and put a new log in the cache. The new log is also in a bag. Tftc.

Loved the story. Unfortunately spotted this one from the car as the camouflage was missing. Cache was very wet & log should be replaced. A quick look around revealed the camouflage & I have now replace it. TFTC
An eerie tale. I guess she eventually found her children? Thanks Mr Walker.
We weren't going to stop for caches this morning but having read this story, we couldn't drive past.
Such a sad story too. I have yet to meet any ghosts.

This weekend, I joined gridge98 on a trip to Eyre Peninsula, primarily visiting Port Lincoln and its surroundings. We saw its famous marina full of trawlers, and we also ended up visiting Coffin Bay and enjoyed fresh oysters. A nice weekend with weather, and certainly a great vicinity to see.
Today leaving Whyalla, we headed down the Lincoln Highway, passing through Cowell, Cleve, Arno Bay, Port Neill, and Tumby Bay. Just prior to lunch, we also completed the *Cleve Cleaver* geoart trail. A rather long day of geocaching numbers, but the inland and coastal towns were enjoyable to visit, along with the various picturesque beaches along the way.
It sounds like there is a haunted house in every district. I was intrigued and believed a little of ghosts and heavenly orbs in my younger years, but I guess I don't have the time anymore to really think about that world. An interesting story to read. In terms of the cache, we parked on the highway, and I made a quick find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Mr Walker for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Today davidwazza and I made our way from Whyalla to Port Lincoln as part of a weekend away to clean up as much as we could. Today was filled with some good and bad times, plus a few car issues along the way but all in all a great day out and 105 caches found in total.
Thanks for the cache

Enjoyed driving many country roads of the Eyre Peninsula, looking at the crops, great views and finding caches

After reading the description we were glad we found this one in daylight hours, we too have had a experience around Callington in the south of Adelaide, a elderly lady called out in the fog if we were here to collecct the horses, it was cold, late at night, no hosing in the area except for some ruins.

Found also in 2010 my brother went to the house because his friend bought the house so they slept the night there in the new house and we'll for the first night they heard someone walking around the house while the dad was out of course they didn't care then when the dad got back he asked my brother and his friend who the girl was that was walking away from the house the dad ended up calling the police and the police found nothing, the last night of my brothers stay I decided to come over because my brother want to tell ghost stories which he knows I love so I came over for dinner and we were telling ghost stories when we heard a girl say who are you i told my brother great job on the scary voice since he was telling a story about a girl who was kill in the scrubs near by, my brother told me it wasn't him a lil while later the dad came out and told us a story about the house which freaked us out because we had just heard the voice so we ended up blaming my brothers friend's dad, now I've heard the story from other people I'm happy to know I've met a ghost
From Tumby Bay to Port Lincoln. This was today's stage and as always we searched and found some geocaches. Many thanks to all owners, which made this trip a little more varied even in not so nice weather.
Found It!
A quick find here while passing by. No ghosts were seen, just some wind...

Accurate coordinates and a familiar style of hide led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Mr Walker for the cache.
Making our way back to Adelaide with a stay at Port Pirie and finding caches along the way. Thanks to all the COs.
After our 4 day stay in Port Lincoln way are on our way back to Adelaide taking a few days for the trip. Thank you to all the COs who have placed caches close to the highway to provide a driving break as well as showing us more about the local areas.
Great story which we enjoyed reading. Very sneaky cache, which was an easy find for us as it was replaced the wrong way up. All good now. TFTC
Quick find of a well made cache. Found on my way to Port Lincoln for work. TFTC
A quick and easy park and grab.
Thanks for the cache Mr Walker. Found on 15 Aug 2017 at 12:26 pm. Find #4987.

#1182 Eigth of forty seven finds on Day 11 of my South Australian geocaching road trip. Nice easy find after a short search. TFTC.
Thanks for the ghost tale Mr Walker, & for the cache. We know none ourselves & would need to plagiarise I'm afraid.
CPwanderer, GoodLook and I headed off for a weekend in Port Lincoln via an overnight stop in Whyalla
Our weekend was unexpectedly extended by a day due to illness and so my tally at the end of the 'weekend' was 168 cache finds
Sadly this was marred by a massive 28 DNFs
Port Lincoln, despite being virgin caching territory for all 3 of us, did not provide us with the pleasure that we had anticipated
So many of the caches were bison tubes and those that we did find, quite often were in places where a larger cache could have been hidden The other issue was the lack of maintenance on many caches
There are people trying their best to maintain the 'wheres wolly' cache hides however their resources are stretched thinly..... so if you are heading over, please pack heaps of cache maintenance containers, bags and log books and help out where you can. [^]
That being said, the trip was still a blast and some great caches were found and great views were seen!
Many people do believe in ghosts or spirits that share the Earth with us. [^]
I've heard a key go into my front door lock and heard my name called. I was in the bath at the time so I got out to see who was there and even went and stood out on the footpath to check the street...... no tail lights in either direction [?]
This was not long after my mother had been killed and yep, I believed after that!

Quickly located as we headed into Pt Lincoln!!
This was one of the caches found on a three day odyssey on the Eyre Peninsula! Myself, GoodLook and locuscache had never cached south of the Cowell/Cleve area so we had high hopes of some great caching. We worked our way down through Port Neil and Tumby Bay and grabbed those along the highway plus a few a little further afield.
Our time in and around Port Lincoln was frustrating. Lots very small micros, lots of very rusty tins and more dnfs than ive ever had in a day before this. We were very fortunate that local cacher , Roming Wendy joined as. Her expert knowledge of the town certainly helped. A medical issue had us stay a third day. This worked out very well as we could do some relaxed caching on our way home.
A special thanks to Roming wendy for her help and to those who hid caches in the area … particularly the Geo-Ambos, Wheres Wolly and Viper321. Special thanks also to my “mildly obsessive” caching buddies on this trip …………………………… amazing fun!!

No ghosts seen today.
Found whilst on a road trip with CPwanderer and Locus Cache, with the aim of the weekend to cache in and around Port Lincoln - fresh territory for us all. We certainly had a great time, however with a DNF rate of about 40% [:(!], it was tough going! We did however thoroughly enjoy the beautiful locations and scenery.
After joking all day on the Sunday we should spend another night in Pt Lincoln, circumstances presented that meant we needed to extend our time away! We took it slowly on the way home which enabled us to once again visit some terrific places
Thanks for the cache

Last day of our Eyre Peninsula holiday cashing smiley faces.
Some hides we were lucky some weren't.
This one gave us a little yellow face.
TFTC SL
Sadly the log book was full and we didn't have a spare as we have used them all up this trip.

Hi there Mr Walker.
We found your cache **"Ghostly T(r)ales No 2. The haunted house"** at 1:31:00 PM today. This cache makes our find count 13755.
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip around the area. We usually start the day off by nominating a cache some distance away from our camp site and then take a route mainly determined by the next closest cache according to our GPS. Today we started in Port Lincoln and ended up finding 10 & DNFing 3.
We awarded this cache a favourite point for the camouflage construction.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Out for a 3rd day of caching heading to Port Lincoln but leaving early did some caches along the way. quite a dull day weather wise. TFTC
What a great story you have told
Easy cache to find
My story
As a teenager my sister and I stayed at our great grandparents house in Coobowie
No one lived in the house at the time ,or so we thought
Laying in bed one night my sister and I were woken by heavy footsteps coming down the passage
Both being too scared to check who it was we both hid under the covers
We relayed the story to our grandmother a few days later
She told us the tale of an old fisherman who had stayed at the house many many years ago and who had lost his life at sea
He had been heard by many who had stayed in the family home over the years walking in his rubber fishing boots on the timber floors going out in the early morning to catch the tide

Out and about with &0thers now on our way to Tumby Bay to the bakery. Stopped to check out any wailing but only lots of cold wind. Excellent camo. Thanks for the cache
