We are really not a well prepared geocacher family. Yesterday we came to visit Baldwin street, did the Lab, found the cache at the bottom of the street. And today, we realised we didn't grab the one at the top. SO here again, we are climbing the street, for the second time in two days. At GZ, there is no one, the rainy weather and closed borders / Auckland at L3 prevent crowds from coming here. SO we took a while to locate a container, that wasn't around. Looking at when last found we are not the first. We looked at every metallic spot around GZ and nothing... Probably gone missing. Anyway, we are tired now... Given we couldn't go to the pool (leisure pool was closed), that was the exercice for the day! Thanks for maintaining this cache.
In Dunedin for the week for work and have been doing some long hours so decided that today I would leave early and hit some caches off the beaten path. Well didn't manage to leave as early as hoped so knew I would only have around an hour before it was dark so planned to have a quick look at each and if I couldn't find it not to waste too much time and move on...I can always come back right?
Having had a little drive out of town I now was heading to look for dinner, hope somewhere will still be open. However the adventure lab on this street caught my eye and I thought what the heck do that and this trad and ensure I'm really hungry for dinner!
Parked a bit lower down and walked on up. Was grateful to find this one quick and be able to have a seat and look at the town before wandering back down.
Thanks for the cache.

Enjoyed the stroll up here snd then discovered didn’t have a pen and wasn’t going down to get one! Photo of log attached. TFTC
I enjoyed the walk up here today and I was not the only one doing the same. Hot work but worth it a favourite point from me. TFTH
Quick found during second visit of the steepest street in the world. On the top I met 3 families, they were just waiting for somebody to take a picture of them, I did it and also told them about geocaching .
3 June 2021 18:08 . Number 9709. This is the second time I have walked up here, the first was in a stinking hot summer day over 10 years ago! Much easier at night when it's cool and there are no tourists around... Thanks for placing this cache as a reward for my efforts!
Found on our Apr21 South Island road trip. We came and saw the street and thought should we walk to the walk. There is a geocache and we dont have one in Dunedin city, so I guess we are walking. Quickly found once at the top. Thanks for the encouragement to walk to the top.
Began my last day in Dunedin with a walk up the hill. When I arrived there was no one else there. I spotted the cache quickly, but only moments after me, someone else arrived and it was a good 20 minutes of waiting until I managed to find the opportunity to grab the just-out-of-casual-reach cache. Signing and returning was easy. Then came the treacherous walk down the sleep, slippery slope. Thanks!
Out doing a lab cache, found this was available for grabbing. Found no problems. TFTC
Does anyone know if Dave is still around?
I met him when finding this cache and he was a great tour guide for my friends and I!
No one mentions him anymore in their logs and I often wonder how he is keeping!

We are having a great time on holiday exploring Dunedin. We were super excited to do this cache as we were in Harlech, Wales, when they announced THEY had the steepest street. So glad to hear that it has been reversed and Baldwin St is back as the steepest! Yes we went up. No we didn't find the cache - now we know why.
I write "WRITE NOTE" because it is a time when we can't go on a long adventure, so I travel in the memories of my visits to New Zeusemad. Of this adventure in New Zealand, I only stretch Travel Bug. Writing "FOUND IT" is probably not right anymore, it wasn't today, but I was here before. And unfortunately I won't get here again.
I am sending a beautiful greeting from the Czech Republic.

4th dnf in the row, lost maybe during New Year's big celebration, but still happy visiting this famous, the steepest street in the world!
Unfortunately could not find. A very thorough search of everything metallic in the area, including the obvious, but no success.
Didn't have a pen, nice to take a load off after the walk up...no muggles about. TFTC
I have also been up the other street in Wales. Admittedly about 30 years ago. Both quite steep.
This is my first time to Baldwin Street, I'm pleased to see the title is back where it belongs. Walked up with Taybee Dragon and was surprised it wasnt as tough as I'd been expecting it to be, I must have got a little fitter in the last couple of weeks during my road trip. I did enjoy the opportunity to sit down at the top though. I love the artwork. Taybee Dragon found the cache quickly. Thanks GSVNoFixedAbode

Paddlechick and I are doing the LAB cache here so get to walk up Baldwin after doing it many years ago. What a great scene behind the seat. Quick snag and tag her. Cheers
Saturday 13 November. Balclutha - Dunedin
Toby, Zara and I are on a 3 week geo adventure of Cromwell, Southland, Catlins, Balclutha with a day in Dunedin and quick stop in Timaru. With Lenny, my trusty navigator and TBD my companion/mascot. we managed to visit lots of green boxes, now happy faces with the odd sad one. Did some LABs , earth caches, virtuals and wherigos, all chucked into the mix to rack up 500 odd caches. Lots of kilometers, lots of exploring and lots of fun. Thanks to all COs for our wonderful experience.

What a cool place in this world. We are in Dunedin on a winter holiday and checked this off the bucket list. TFTC the log was a bit wet
I haven't been up this street for a couple of years. A quiet winter's evening just before heading to work might give me space to discreetly find the cache. Quick find with an enjoyable walk. TFTC
A typical hide for a Cache. We walk up the Baldwin street and found the Cache quickly. Thanks for the Cache:)
We had doubts about the steepest record here, but it beats our steepest street. Kteeeee was the crazy one here. Signed CCC.
VERY steep!! Was fun running down the steps alongside the street (forgot to count the steps!). Thanks for bringing us to this great view! Fave
Here with the CCC gang. We drove up and drove back down (except for kteeeee...she ran down!) Thanks for bringing us here, and TFTC
After having slept a calm night at Baldwin St and doing all the obligatory pictures we had of course to look for this cache. It was found quickly and without muggles in the morning. TftC =)
Hi, found, but too crowdy to take it and sign the logbook... It seams that not all people are respecting the roadsign that allows the access by car for residents and authorised only...
Awesome spot. TFTC

We are in our final week of our 5 week NZ road trip. It has been wonderful. Greetings from Washington state. Today we took the bus from our VRBO into the downtown area to scout out all the old buildings. Happy to find some geocaches along the way. I left my muggle hubby and took the bus to do the walk up Baldwin Street. So happy to have a geocache to find at the end. Loved doing this after a challenge from my geocaching friend, perpulady, who did this in 2014. Now we have a shared geocache in NZ! TFTC
On my long drive from Manapouro to South New Brighton I stopped in Dunedin and visited the steepest road in the World. Wow - it was really a hard climb to get to the end of the road! What a nice surprise to find a cache really close! Thanks for hiding!

Mooi verstopt toch gevonden. Bedankt voor het leggen en onderhouden van deze cache. The Nederlands
Snowball.99 took a Seat and the Box. What a heavy Magnet. If there is no Travelbus before it could be quiet.
Thanks for that Cache.
Thanks for that Cache.
In the area for a wedding and had some time to kill, so proceeded to do the touristy thing before heading to Joe's Garage for lunch. It was a challenge to get to the top, but I think the hardest challenge was then trying to stealthily retrieve the cache to sign it (& then realising we didn't bring a pen!). Managed to get the job done, and imagine my surprise when I saw that some of the locals from the North had been there the day before! We were then treated to watching a few vehicles try to navigate the hill whilst avoiding pedestrians and then a tourist on a fully laden BMW touring motorbike going up and then down again as well! Were keen to get certificates at the bottom, but alas, no eftpos at the shop! TFTC and the adventure!
On a mi ssion in the south island with a few of the team from the BOP grabbing the TMGT caches and a few older caches along the way.
FP for this cache although we should have done this before our indian dinner.

On a road trip down south Mainly getting TMGTs and high favourites. Having lots of fun and seeing lots of places. Thanks to all the COs for some great caches TFTC. That was pretty amazing. Thanks for the steps
How much more stealth can you be than after 10pm and naturally there's two people sitting on the top where we need to be. After a 10minute wait we started walking and they followed so we pulled a u turn to make a quick find. Thanks for the cache and replacing CSV!
Is this walking or already climbing? Or is there anything between this two possibilities? Anyway, way made it,

Whoop whoop, walked up with hubby and quickly found cache. 1st time hubby has walked up, 3rd time for me. Previously walked up in 2004. Cache quickly signed and replaced as found. TFTC
During our round trip on the South Island we searched and found some caches, this one was also there.
I made a race against the children and won. But the advancement is quite remarkable.
Even though there were many muggles here, with a little patience the access was possible.
Thank you very much for this cache say

Thanks for the cache at this nice scenery. Unfortunately it rained heavily so I didn‘t pack out the log book. I hope the picture is ok for logging
I have been running up Baldwin for years and never stumbled upon it, very cool! Had to stealth past so many tourists to find it though haha
Together with TEMBO! I had a really interesting geocaching-trip today. We could find some geocaches, met some locals and had a great talk to them.
Concerning this geocache I want to say thanks because we had much fun in searching and finding this geocache! The cache made our trip even more interesting!
