### **OWNER MAINTENANCE REQUESTED PLEASE** ###

----------

Hi there Robmc,

It looks like this cache might need some attention, as one or more seekers have indicated there is some sort of issue. The recent logs may contain more details about what sort of issues are evident.

The cache has been [**temporarily disabled**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=235), so as to remove it from search listings and discourage people from visiting this location, until the issues/s can be addressed.

**You do need to respond in some way within 14 days,** so others know you are on top of it, as well as indicating exactly what is happening with this placement - please don't let a lack of communication scuttle this listing.

#What you need to do:-#
You have a number of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:-

- **Check On The Cache** - once checked, place an Owner Maintenance log and then enable the cache.

- **Place A Write Note Log** - indicating a date when you expect it will be restored.

- **Adopt Out or Archive** - depending on whether you want it kept or for it to disappear.

Full details for each of the above choices can be found at [**GEOCACHE MAINTENANCE**]( https://wiki.groundspeak.com/display/GEO/Victoria) on the Regional Policies page.

You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of the above. Well, when the cache is next checked by a Reviewer, if the issue has not been addressed, or there is no acknowledgment as requested above, it will be assumed the cache has been abandoned. Twisted

It would be far better if you decide, so please do something before then. Please don't send an email but instead follow the information/advice posted above.

Thanks for your cooperation,

Regarding CCT-3 Gardiners Creek Trail (GCRZAZ): cache has lost both clips and log totally saturated and I could barely leave a mark - needs TLC ASAP. I was terrified of dropping it

04-Jul-23
My favourite commute and mode of travel is always two wheels -just like getting there fast but there's been nothing fast about getting to this final! Luckily a cold day gloomy day has kept most people indoors so the hunt could begin with no risk to riders or the cache for that matter. I knew one clip was missing...not only that the cache is totally soggy and to my dismay I found both clips gone so I was terrified the whole kaboodle might sail away on its return. CO has been notified. TFTC and the urban journey.!!

After a few recalculations, and help from past posts to correct errors, did a park & grab for this one.
A hot day out of school & commuting hours helped as this is a busy cycle route.
A couple of the WPs have changed, but as others have mentioned, some careful consideration can help to think around these.
Clips on the cache are both broken, so did our best to replace intact. Magnets still strong, log only a bit damp
There are definite thoughts of The Birds at dusk in this area- the corellas are amazing!
Thanks Robmc! Love this series.

I found it after so many years!
Number 1 was wrong.
I made a few guesses that paid off!

Great find in an unexpected spot. Unsure what AB were??? as no boards were visible, however using a little guess work on the dummy co-rods we were able to guess them.

I struggled with some of the waypoints along the trail. There’s quite a bit of roadworks happening at one end. But using common sense, logic and a bit of luck I came up with some likely looking coordinates. Great walk to the final and a quick recovery thank goodness. Cache lid still hanging on with just one clip on the container! TFTC

**Happy International caching day 2019.** Cool
In the city today with the usual **riff-raff** (The Empire and omegaman1971) to attend an event and hopefully put some smilies on the map. Big Grin
A marvelous multi that had to be completed over several visits to various WPT's and then off to GZ and made a quick find. Wink

Thanks for the cache Robmc. Appreciate your efforts. Big Grin

Found by The Empire with omegaman1971 and Snap Happy
Happy International Geocaching Day! After the event in the city, we trekked out this way to pick up some more cool caches. Another cache that had been on the 'go' for a while. Good to finally be near the final waypoint to make the quick find. Thanks for the Robmc.

Love a cache with history!.
Cheers for the cache

One of 2 diamond caches picked up today. I am gradually trying these Multis on my bike. Some of the WP are not always present after time. WP 1 has no sign - not sure if the replacement sign has all the words of the first as the math didn’t work out. I could work an acceptable GZ from the other ones. And luckily I did as it is disappointing doing one of these and ending empty-handed. My coordinates were pretty spot on. Found cache with one clip but still able to be placed after I signed log. Had to overt muggles coming both direction. The roar of a St Kevin’s v Brighton Grammer 1st football match happening in the background. Thanks Robmc for the cache.

Streak Day #119/366
(1 March 2019 - 29 February 2020). Collected waypoints other days and this morning I arrived at GZ. Unfortunately I had a wrong turn off and got me back to the freeway! Nevertheless, I was so relieved that this was a quick find for me. Thanks Robmc for placing this and for the fun.

A really good place! Incredible such a subtle thing out of place.

Last Friday was a beautiful sunny day, so I decided make the most of my lunch break and grab a cache at the same time.
I visited WP2 first - and got stuck! A friend gave me a hint, something I noticed but I never would’ve made that link. I also had a little trouble with WP1. In the end my calculated GZ didn’t look right and I had to be back at work.
Today I made it back out, having figured out my mistake, and headed out to GZ. It’s true what they say, it’s always quicker the second time. Today, it was a little eerie near WP5 - a massive amount of cockies and just like a scene out of The Birds.
Before I knew it I was signing the log. Thanks Robmc!

Well, another adventure bites the dust.
Gosh, what a popular trail. Bikes and people everywhere and a glorious day for a walk.
Yeah, I know, it's a bike trail, but so much more to see on foot.
Spent a lot of time exploring along the way and must return to explore a bit more.
Numbers were crunched, and lunches munched and then it was on to the find.
"I think it's there...!" and yes, it is! But how do you get it without getting run over!
Heck! Now that's a challenge!
Just managed to retrieve it without getting run over. Signed log and rehid the cache, again, without getting run over.
Challenge complete, we were heading off into the unknown once more.

On a long walk a few weeks back I collected the clues and then sat down to work out a GZ. Nope not on my way home... but tonight was warm and quiet so I made the detour and found quite quickly. This cache was a lot of fun. Thanks to Robmc for the placement and fun.

In the area to meet a friend this afternoon, I decided to look for this cache as I had calculated GZ a couple of weeks ago. I struggled a bit at WP 1 as I now know that the sign has changed. I walked around a bit at WP 2 until the penny dropped. A torch would have been handy but I was able to count....just! All other WPs were straightforward, I just didn't have time to get to GZ. Today, I spied the cache and chose the correct elevation to make the find. One of the clips is missing but all is safe and well. Thanks Robmc, I am enjoying this series.

13-Nov-18
Found It!
I visited all the waypoints for this yesterday. The sign at WP1 has been upgraded but Street View still has a pic of the old one. I wasn't really sure what I was looking for at WP2 but there didn't seem to be anything there that matched the question. So I had to take a guess at that one and thankfully got a GZ location that looked good. The rest of the waypoints were fairly straight forward. Then today I went to GZ and spotted the cache surprisingly quickly! Then just had to get to the right elevation and I had it in hand! One of the lid clips is missing so the lid is only held on by one clip. But the contents still seemed to stay inside for now.

This was a marathon. The shortest one of these trails ended up being the most difficult. The closest train station is on the wrong side of the river. I ended up in a boys school and a tennis courts before realising I had quite a walk to just get to the start of this cache. One of the signs had changed and I ended up with some negative numbers. All worked out OK in the end and the log was signed. I have now done all the trails and only have to get the capital city trail cache. Woo Hoo.

23-Jan-18
Another good find on the CCT trail. Beautiful riding days at the moment in Melbourne which makes the long commute even nicer.

I got to GZ and I hadn't read any previous logs. My first thought was I'd stuffed up the clues and arrived at the wrong co-ords. There was no spots immediately to hand that adhered to the standard CCT hide type I'd come to know. But of course that's because I was thinking in 2D. After checking the activity logs it became obvious that I needed to change my way of thinking.

It didn't take long to spot the cache, but retrieving was always going to take some more work. I decided from-above was the way to go, but at peak hour on this bike path from-above was fraught with personal danger. Luckily a quick "check" of the front wheel and a reach-around did the trick. Cache retrieved and signed. Only one more CCT find before the final. TFTC

Met up with chof_hoe and morty for another ride so I could get some much needed exercise.
We parked at Lorimer St again and started our trek.
We did another multi on the way and after finishing that we started this one.
Picked up the info that was required as we were going along.
Sat down in the sun did the maths and off to GZ we went.
Morty spotted the cache and now how to get it.
Chof_hoe did the honours for us and we soon had the log signed, got the clues and returned the cache
Another one in the CCT series done and dusted
Thanks Robmc TFTC

15-Oct-17
Out with my Geo-accomplice as well as Posums on the treadlies today, we targeted a couple of multi caches along the Yarra.

This was the second multi we went after, as we started the CCT series a few weeks ago, and not a whole lot of excuse was needed for a ride on a day as awesome as this. The waypoints for this one were all in a tight little area, which made the clue finding a speedy exercise.

We found a spot in the sun, and did the required math. Unlike an earlier multi, no mathematical hurdles were encountered, and so off to GZ to find the cacheUpon arrival, we looked around for a while and started to consider doing some climbing due to a previous log, however BendSinister had been kind to us here and put the cache is a great spot that does not require any aerial manoeuvres.

With some more clues for the final in hand, we started making our way back towards the city.

TFTC Robmc, we are slowly working through this series and we hope to have some more found logs delivered to you soon!

08-Jun-17
I finally returned with a borrowed height-attaining device that I would never have guessed would fit in the humble BSmobile. The necessary manoeuvres promised to be excruciating back in December when I had cracked ribs, but even today they didn't seem very T2.0-ish. I moved the cache a few inches when I was done, so a few different access options are probably available right now.

The clue collection was all very straightforward last year, I seem to recall. And it offered an excuse to stalk a suburb I virtually never find myself in. Thanks again Robmc!

Pleasant stroll. All clues revealed themselves without fuss. Not sure I'll ever be equipped to retrieve the cache from *there* though!

Found with Sierror on a nice Winters evening. Got one of the traditionals nearby before going after this one. Had climbed down the other side of the bridge just earlier didn't even realise I was that close to it. Thanks for the cache

26-May-16
Originally I targeted this cache simply for the exercise. I'm trying to rebuild some leg strength in order to tackle a couple of the alpine caches after not exercising for a while due to real life commitments.
As it happened the unlove was a bonus contributing a nice little chunk to a challenge I'm working on.
All info at various WPs were spot on although like a previous finder I did have a bit of a head scratch re the yellow rungs until things clicked.
However, arriving at GZ sans a caching partner or a ladder but with a fair bit of baggage gave me pause. I decided I'd have to come back with suitable tools and help. That day was today and the rain kept the muggles indoors apart from a hardy runner and cyclist so no quizzical stares about why I had decided to climb up a bridge support.
Thanks for the challenge Robmc. I do think the terrain rating ought to be upped a half to a full star. I mean a T2 may require a bit of a reach into a tree nook or a single branch climb. You'd have to admit this is a little harder.
Oh, I must fess up to snapping off one of the clips. First time that's happened.

Found while out on the Yarra River Expedition event. 2 of us decided to attack the hide from above while another was hoisted up from below. It was a close call but those below cheated and beat us to the find. At least we all got to sign it in the end Smile

Found as part of the Yara Crew on an awesome ride this Saturday morning along the Yarra. Wow this one took a little longer to do. With multiple sets of eyes the nice hide was eventually spotted and logged sign. Now to do the others in the larger series. This was the first completed.

Found today as part of the Yarra Expedition - a trip in installments to see the whole Yarra.

A nice series this CCT - wanted to once do them all in one day but think that would be one hell of a ride with lots of information collecting!

Great spot for a GZ and interesting watching it getting retrieved.

Cheers

On the Yarra Expedition with the gang riding free and loving it caching along the way exploring the amazing sights and places of interest around and near the Yarra River from start to finish with a great bunch of cachers and people with the same interests out journey is continuing :
An interesting cache and even more interesting on the final hunt to the final....

I began this multi many many moons ago and only now getting around to conclude it. Was out today with a cycling group from Yarra Expedition event. We made our way to the final GZ and spotted it from the ground. There were two routes, one was climbing up and the other down. It was a race by members of the group to grab the cache. An entertaining find! Signed log as a group. TFTC Robmc

After conversing with a previous finder about the way to find this cache, today I rode from Yarra Bend to GZ and after a few attempts from below and above I finally grabbed it from the top and a loooong reach. Entered the coords for the final into my phone and grabbed those clues on the way back. I did this multi a while ago now and remember this stage being quite short compared to the others but still fun nonetheless Smile fav point

Did this one in two parts over two successive lunch time runs from where I work in Hawthorn.

I was initially stumped by WPT2 "Where are the yellow rungs?" but after a bit of looking around it clicked, and I just managed to count them in the gloom.

The cache itself took a bit of searching - I looked high and low with out success, leaving to me think about where else it could be and how to get to it...

Bingo - great hide, great multi, terrain rating should be higher for this one though.

13-Jun-15
Could not spot it from above or below Sad

07-Feb-15
A few weeks ago I came here to do this and other caches. I found most of the info for this cache but could not fund any yellow rungs. Talking to others I later discovered it may be buried. I was able to calculate GZ with the information I had. I proceeded to Gz but it was very busy. I had a good look around and found the cache in a difficult to reach location. This evening I came back with MMelb who was keen to do the climbing. There was no-one around so MMelb was able to climb down and retrieve the cache. In this position the cache is more than a two rating terrain. Unfortunately the pencil was lost in process (sorry). Thanks Robmc

Find #688

Tarbit had gone north for an Xmas Eve lunch so I jumped on the bike and cached along the bike trails with some small diversions from Richmond in a south easterly direction. This was my third find of eight on a beautiful afternoon to be out and about. I was organised enough to arrange the WPs into order so as not to double back but then I started at the wrong end (relative to where I was)! Luckily this was all convenient for where I needed to head on to so no harm done. All info spot on at all WPs and accurate coords worked out for GZ. I could see the cache but had to do a little bit of thinking as to how best to access it. Waited for a gap in the bike traffic and soon the cache was in hand. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited a TB that I picked up in the city last week. Thanks for the cache Robmc. Clues noted noted as I build my info on this series.

Again a weekend with very nice weather - bikes out and go! We are getting closer to complete the CCT series.
After detouring the wrong way ... our Babel fish was not able to give us the right translation for the '(yellow) rungs' (is that really possible???) or the thing it refers to has gone - we took a break and some logic led us to the final place.
We suspect that the cache is now not hidden at the original place - or we would think it should have a higher terrain rating - you would not let your kids go there! The container itself was broken (one clip) and wet inside, though luckily the logbook was still dry.
TFTC for another nice cache in this series!

Find #1369. Found @ 19:10.

This has been one of my closest unfound multis for quite a while. With a March Multi challenge from LouiseAnn to complete 31 multi-caches during the month thrown in my direction I figured I'd better get a wriggle on as the days are running out.

For some reason I decided to do this one on foot (probably because I was on the way home from work). I left work a smidgen earlier than normal for a Thursday and planned to fit this in before my usual dinner arrangements.

I parked near the first waypoint and went for a wander to collect numbers. I'm glad I had my torch with me for WP2 as I would not have been able to get the digits without it. Once at WP5 I decided that GZ was not too far away so decided to hoof it. In hindsight, I really should have collected the car.

Once at GZ I had to act nonchalant for a few minutes until a muggle infestation had cleared before I scoped out the hide. I then made the retrieval, signage, and replace in between more bouts of nonchalance.

I made the trek back to the car and was only about 20 minutes behind schedule.

Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache and nice walk Robmc.

Unfortunately this is only multi number 10 of the 31 - the challenge doesn't look very promising.

# 5753. Out riding the Capital City Trail with the CO today and doing a few branch-offs along the way. A lot of muggles, a lot of bike traffic and a lot of clues to collect and sort along the way. Arrived at GZ and it was like Bourke Street at lunch time. Eventually after some searching I had to resort to the long reach of the CO to retrieve it for me. It hadn't been found since July and the magnet is getting very flaky but all is well with the log book and container. Managed to return it before the next wave of muggles arrived. TFTC

Finally logging some caches after sorting out my machine.
Thanks for the cache.

12-Sep-13
I picked up all the clues for this on the weekend so todays lunch time project was to go and collect it. So out with Muttley today with about 1% of the muggles that were around this bike path on Sunday so a very easy grab and sign. Just noticed it hasn't been found for 7 months!! TFTC.

I'd picked up the clues for this cache months ago but haven't been in the area til now. Looking for a cache today I pulled up and started to search while dodging all the cycling muggles. I spotted the cache pretty quickly but it took a few passes before I had a chance to grab the cache. I walked away to sign the log and get the coords for the final before heading back. This time the muggles cleared as I neared gz and I was able to replace quickly. Thanks Robmc for another in the series. Still a few to go.

The forth of our nine capital city trail caches. It's a long slog from CCT-2! Clues were a bit jumbled, but figured it out nevertheless! Another great river with fond (rowing) memories. TFTC

So, after picking up the two nearby Skyhooks caches, I realised there was a CCT multi here. Should I have started this at the beginning of the trail? So I plotted the waypoints and saw that they led out and then back. Hmmm. Reordering them to do from where I stood, I picked up the clues on the way, and discovered that I'd managed to be lucky and could hit GZ on my way toward home.

Excellent. Another set of coordinates to play with at a later date...

We had gathered the clues on a previous expedition to the area and have been sitting on the answer for a while now. Today we set off in the glorious sunshine and made our way to GZ. It was a popular spot today, but with the whole family caching together we had a good cover. Thanks for the cache.

08-Jul-12
Have been planning this series as an exercise project for a while, so finally got underway today to explore this leg which is closest to my home. Nice and easy and took me off from where I usually ride. On a busy Sunday arvo had to plan the grab and return carefully. There was a bit of water in the box, which I emptied, but the log is dry. Finders should make sure lid seal is tight and unobstructed by ziplock bag corners, for example. Thanks Robmc for getting me started! I'll do the next couple of legs in a couple of weeks.

03-Apr-12
I've had this one put to one side ever since I started geocaching, put off by the mention of distances and use of two-wheeled transport. On the weekend I decided to take a closer look so I could clear out some close-to-home caches off the map. It turns out the distances wheren't specific to this cache, so with the aid of my 4-wheeled-lazy-person's-cycle and some prior work/guessimation I visited the WPs and came up with some sensible coordinates for GZ. I visited there, which was handy spot as I was needed to come here to tackle another cache too, and came up empty on my first search (between the muggle traffic). I headed off to tackle the other cache - no luck at all with that one - and came back for a second search in the places I hadn't looked. This time I found a cute little Ringtailed Possum who's sleep had been disturbed. I then found a Geocaching Australia laminated cache note on the ground and I feared the cache was muggled but looking around I spotted the cache container safely hidden but all but inaccessible because of the amount of muggle traffic... So I chose to leave it to tackle at night (made easier and more convenient with the end to daylight savings).

Tonight was the night, and as the darkness closed in I parked and headed off to collect it - only to discover GZ was even busier than on the weekend with mad psycholists and a team of sportswomen doing sprints too. Argh! I decided to have another crack at the other cache first, and found the WP data after some searching by torchlight. Back to have another go at grabbing this cache, and this time the traffic had dropped off enough to grab it, log it and once there was another break in the traffic put it back again. Glad to have this one off my list now. TFTC

18-Sep-11
My unplanned caching day has been pretty fruitful. Literally ran 1.2k's between 2 caches to get 2 FTF's from Combust4's Rail Ride series and 2 more on the way back all done on foot. Proud of myself for walking 7.2km back home from the city. I had just come back from a meeting over at Melbourne Uni when I received the email. I also saw that there was a cache that was published just 400m from my house, but I would have preferred to kill 2 birds with 1 stone anytime than to have had that one.

This was another bonus of the day, my fifth cache of the day. I had initially planned to catch the train back after doing the Burnley Rail Ride series but decided against it when I remembered this cache which wasn't done. I knew I will not usually come by this way again, so I braced 2.2 kms to walk to this cache, taking a leisurely stroll this time.

Honestly, I did not do the multi at all. I had just read the clues and tried my luck at finding the cache on the first grey bridge I saw, with the help of geosense and thinking where would I hide the cache. I peered out and with my eagle eyes, spotted the cache which was in plain sight to any keen-eyed cacher. Waited for muggles to go past before signing the log and replacing it back with a loud 'KLUNK'. TFTC Robmc Smile

20-Aug-11
I completed this multi on foot, but not without some difficulties. At WP2 I simply could not find anything yellow, and I hadn't read previous logs. I contined anyway, and as it turned out I was able to guess one of the digits, which left only two options for the other. Option number 1 wanted me to be on St Kevin private ground, option 2 looked much better. Cache was found quickly then. Swapped the log book for a dry one, and left the cover page of the old log with clues in the cache. TFTC, Robmc - I really enjoyed this walk.

Found with geogirlfriend. Nice ride but ill prepared for cold weather. Collected all clues but co-ords for GZ were not adding up. Nearly tricked at WP2 by debris over yellow. Had to adjust one number in co-ord to get correct location. Easy find at GZ. Thanks for the cache although gf wasn't happy with the wait while I corrected error in formula. TFTC. SL. TNLN

Found with juliok on 14th Nov on a bike ride Smile

14-Nov-10
Picked up all the clues last weekend, and made the quick find today. I counted and re-counted at one of the waypoints, and I'm sure that number has to be wrong! Maybe one is under water out of site? Easy to figure out what the number is supposed to be anyhow! Found with Mealsy. TFTC!

I often cache by bike, but today I took a walk to do this cycling cache. Really enjoyed some of the tasks.
The log book is indeed completely soaked, even though it's a good box in a good hide. Didn't have the time to let it dry out, not even sure if it can be saved. I managed to log my name and rescued the pts, (one is already rusty Sad )

Thanks for the cache,

Find 11/18 for the day, it's still there however the logbook is soaked and you won't be able to write in it, I left the 2 pathtags in there, I imagine they won't see the light of day for quite a while.

Yay! Finally got this one!

Took two visits to get the clues - I was sure we had a wrong answer for one of the waypoints. I ended up making an assumption, and confirmed the resulting co-ordinates with another cacher.

We approached GZ today and decided to try and visually locate the cache rather than run the risk of being squashed by the passing parade of bikes. From our vantage point, the reluctant spouse spotted what appeared to be the cache. We made our way back to GZ, where the reluctant spouse did the honors. The cyclists stayed away long enough that retrieval and return of the cache was achieved safely. The rs was impressed with the magnets.

We took nothing, and left two pathtags, one of the fabulous new GCA tags, and a listmaker one.

Thanks for a fun challenge, Robmc!

After a previous DNF when even though we could see the cache we could not find a way of reaching it. We returned today with a different approach but found we did not need it. We were very fortunate as the last finder had returned the cache to a far more accessible location, and therefore it turned into a quite easy find once the flow of muggles stopped.
Thanks Robmc, glad to have this one off the list

It's been a long time in the coming but I finally completed this cache this morning just before 11:00 on my third visit to GZ, since starting it. My first attempt was on the 30th March, on a nice day of around 25-28°C. Though my first mistake was cycled down to the listed co-ordinates when the first question to answer was actually near Glenferrie Rd where I had come from. Collected all the clues with no drama, bar one which had would have me in an unlikely location in the suburb of Toorak. After some guess work I found the more likely location.

Though by the time I got to GZ, about a zillion cyclist muggies were making their way home. This is the most insane level of bicycle traffic I've ever seen. Didn't spot the cache and no way I could retrieve it anyway so rode home. The line of cyclists along the bike path heading home was endless. Though I did email robmc to confirm I was in the right location which I was.

Finally on a second visit I spotted the cache, though it couldn't be retrieved (most likely moved by a muggie). Had no time to waste so I went home. Today I managed to devise a means of retrieving it with minimal risk (though should probably qualify as a terrain five retrieval in this instance). After signing the log, I returned the cache to it's proper spot, so back to terrain two and retrievable for everyone. Hopefully no one else has to go to these lengths again.

Thanks for the cache robmc. I must say I'd never really explored that side of the freeway! Find 1 out of 5 for today.

Found at 14:25. Out and about yesterday I had collected all the required info and calculated GZ but on arrival at GZ even though I had spotted where the cache was hidden due to the steady stream of muggles decided to come back at another time. Today with the muggle numbers reduced was able to get to the cache without any hassles. Really enjoyed completing this cache, thanks.

That was a pleasant walk along riverside. A small challenge at the end made this a memorable cache (2 scratches). I wonder what those 2 cyclists thought when they saw me emerging from cache Big Grin

We decided to try and finish another one in the CCT series today whilst we were killing time in between appointments. We can't really call this a DNF as not only could we see the cache we could touch it but we couldn't retrieve it no matter how hard we tried. We will return when there are less muggles around and try a different approach
Thanks anyway Robmc we enjoyed the chase anyway

Great cache. Messed up the second clue and ended up on Sat with some weired co-ords. However, got to thinking more on Sun and found it right away. Took the TB. It will be in much warmer climes in a couple of weeks.

Robmc, I found the container but no lid or contents. When I looked down I could see something on top of the pier so I went down below to see what I could find. I found the log and the lid in the long grass and so was able to put them back in place together with a TB(NZ tag) and a soldier. The magnet is really too strong, so cachers, be careful when recovering the cache.

Checked the TB in.

I finally have a CCT cache off my list! These things have been clogging my GPSr with waypoints for months now!:)

I had some time spare this morning and was heading to Glen Iris to catch up with an old uni mate. I found it much easier to drive and walk as my bike is still the same one I had as a 14yo. After rechecking some numbers and deciding they were wrong, I went with an educated guess that matched the hint and logged the cache between cyclists. The magnet is very strong indeed!

Thanks,

R - B

Found this one while out bike riding along the yarra paths with chewinprickles and his son.

It was great to actualy do one of your caches Robmc... having done several trips together in recent times chasing other peoples hides. Enjoyed the ride.

Found by Facitman, e-facit and s-facit at 14:20
This cache was a long time coming for us. e-facit had done some preliminary work on a cache in this park but before she had progressed very far this cache appeared. Took us a while to mount our bikes and collect the clues but then it was another 13 months before we returned to find the actual cache! The collection of clues was fun and completed without incident but logistics (aka tired facitettes) delayed the final hunt.
Facitman and the facitettes traveled into the city today by bike and this gave us a chance to finish it, GZ was very busy on our way in so it was on our return journey that we searched and Facitman spotted the cache, s-facit attempted extraction but Facitman had to do the deed in the end
TNLN (forgot our swaps Red Face)
Thanks Robmc, looking forward to trying the others in the series

Finally starting to close in on this series with only one trail (CCT-4) remaining now before the final CCT-0. Another enjoyable ride with a few other caches collected along the way.

thanks Robmc

Nice easy cache combined with dog walk. Thanks.

Finally got around to finishing this one today as I am rarely in this neck of the woods. An easy find after waiting for associated muggles to move on. Thnx Robmc.

25-Feb-07
found this after chipping away at it for a few days on my rides to work up this trail. After a few wrong turns and I think a bit too much water (?) I finally calculated GZ and went for it today after my snorkling afternoon got too choppy. Found the cache OK and got promptly sprung by Davroy and ggcof (?) before we could return it Razz so we had a good chin wag and then they pointed out the extra CCT0 clues that I had forgotten to get Red Face

Found @ 6:00pm.

Found on a caching cycling tour of the city with ggkof. 15th of 17 for the day.

I'd done the preliminaries some months before but ggkof hadn't, so we went over them again. As we neared GZ, I whispered to ggkof "Someone's right on GZ!" Turns out it was BackPAQer and family with cache in hand. After introductions, we logged the cache. First time for me to meet a fellow cacher whilst 'on the job'

Found @ 18:00. Another one in the series down. This turned out a little easier than expected as we sprung BackPAQer with cache in hand at GZ. Great to meet the face behind the name with entry often close to mine in the logs. TNLNSL Thanks.

Found the cache today in its clever hide.Nice spot and creek trail very close to work here. Now where can i get some of those computer magnets from .A well constructed multi with great logical waypoints to keep you headed in the right direction.TNLN and thanks to Robmac for the challenge.

Found at 2:59pm Accompanied by Chewinprickles, we decided that on the third day of spring we should go for a bike ride and what better place than along the Yarra, I cheated a bit on this one but having ridden 23.7 Km's today I have justified myself.
(ps this cache sure is hard to remove, I have more mussles on my legs from riding and now more mussles on my arms from retrieving this cache)
In: Dice, Out: Crock, Signed Log. Thanx Robmc....Big Grin

Found after a fun ride on Sunday morning. Had several passes at the second clue. Not everything is up! Thanks RobMC Smile

Found after a short search, and an enjoyable stroll. Thanks Rob. Took Heart and wet string, left crocodile. See also note.

Because of a number of factors including the location, method of hiding, and the lid not being 100% sealed, the cache had water in it when I found it. I dried it out (and took undriable items) but the log is ever so slightly damp. I've made sure that it was sealed and only just open to the elements in its hidey-hole and it should be OK. Cheers.

Thanks Alansee.
I suspect I should have hung it the other way up.
I'll have to give that some thought.

Found this during a very pleasant autumn day out on the bikes with the family. This is our first of this series and it looks like it will be a great series for us to eventually do. Thanks

Another one done. Only Merri creek togo before I tackle the "marathon". Thanks for another nice hike.

This was our first CCT cache series and by all the fun we had it will not be our last.
We decided to drive to the waypoints and after speaking to Acts2youthgroup about one waypoint in particular we realised our error and headed for the GZ.
Arriving at the GZ we took some time before grabbing the cache as Muggles we plentiful.
Many thanks Robmc for an enjoyable multi cache, we look forward to completing the rest.

Dear Robmc,

I logged this cache today at 6:35pm as 8 from 8 preliminary caches on my attempt to complete the entire CCT series by bike in a single day. My good fortune finally deserted me at this cache. I got to the preliminary waypoints and counted all things. I programmed in the co-ords and set off to GZ. Once near to that point, it was obviously wrong. I rechecked my calculations and there was nothing wrong there. I checked over my counts and all was correct. I called home to check if the page had had a change as per CCT-4. The internet was down. Then the batteries in the GPSr died. I had spares on board but didn't bother to change them at that time as there was no point without finding something I could rejig. I rode back along the trail once more and checked the most likely spot with no success. In desperation I gave Dak a call just to check if there had been any changes to the sheet I had with me. All formula matched. We checked the counts. All were correct. We checked the final co-ords. That too was correct. I reloaded my new batteries and took off once more. This time it pointed exactly to the right spot (previously the same co-ordinates which I hadn't changed pointed me about 300m away into an impossible place). My theory is that my GPSr went nuts just before the batteries died and gave an incorrect reading. That's one 1.5km section of this trail I'm not looking forward to travelling again in a hurry after travelling it today 5 times. Especially this late in a really long day. Thanks for the cache.

Now off to the fianl cache - or am I Wink.

Regards,

D B-A

With 3 parts done and a glorious autumn day in the offing, it was time to do this one. My assault on it was via the outer circle rail trail and in along the Gardiners Creek track from there. I collected the clues along the way although the first one had me stumped for a while. Eventually, I was at GZ but the cleverly hidden cache did not present itself for about 15-20 minutes. Finally though, I had it in hand at 15:00.

TNLNSL. Many thanks once again Robmc.

Found at 13:15. I had done all the waypoints for this one some time ago but ran out of time to finish the cache. Finally returned today as we had two hours to kill while another procedure was carried out on my father in the ICU at the Austin. Thanks for another great cache.
