Time for this series to be archived.
Thanks to all the finders for your nice logs.

Walked the trail a few months ago, collecting the clues along the way. Solved for GZ at home and made the find today. Was about to pull a long tube at first, but luckily noticed the cables coming out the other end of the tube. Then switched to the other side of the bridge and spotted the cache in no time.

Was prepared for this to be tricky due to all the works happening. Onboard the geobike, found the waypoints without too much trouble - although could be a bit challenged in the counting stakes. WP 3 was a google search and WP 4 pile of rocks seems to have deteriorated somewhat- definitely interpretive!
Couldn’t make the maths work while I unknowingly sat in the shade of the final GZ.
Returned with 4 wheels just on sunset - not really much quieter as it is such an awesome night. A bit of searching, almost went past the spot as it was so well protected by cobwebs…. Guess that happens when you’ve been hidden since 2020! Luckily had some TOTT to help retrieve it.
Cache is in excellent condition, dry & nicely mummified
Thanks Robmc for creating this & bringing us to this part of Melbourne

Venturing out in the rain for this one, but first 2 WPs have been altered by various works. Looks like my search here will not be fruitful. Have messaged Robmc. This is my first try at any of the CCT multis, maybe I'll try another instead. I was wondering why this one hadn't been logged for a couple of years.

20-Nov-20
Dang, must've been having a really off day today. Decided to start at #8 and bike anti-clockwise through the entire series from there, but found myself starting at waypoint #1 and backtracking towards my house. By the time I got to the last waypoint I was pretty much back home and my calculations were clearly wrong, since GZ looked to be in the middle of nothing interesting at all, let alone anywhere near the bike paths this series follows. Not sure which one I got wrong but clearly at least one of them, since one of the calculations produced a negative number. Will have to go back and try again another time as I clearly underestimated the time each one would take, too. Bummer.

A beautiful day for a walk along an interesting part of the river. There is so much building work going on in the area!! The information boards with local history were great. Thanks for bringing me back here. Cache found in good condition.

26-Sep-19
Had this one sitting here for a long time so as we were in the area, we took the opportunity to find this one. Met a very interesting local that was extremely excited to hear about caching. He feels that it is exactly what he would like to do so can only hope he joins us. He gave us the history of this bridge and the temple and statue nearby. Thanks for this cache. We look forward to completing this interesting Trail.

26-Mar-19
I've worked on these various CCT multis for a few years now, just sort of nit-picking at each one. Well, I finished another tonight as getting the clues wasn't too difficult.

At GZ I would advise being cautious at night about poking your hands around in certain areas as there are A LOT of nesting birds here.

3 for 3 on finds on my late-night caching run.

24-Mar-19
I did most of this series quite some time ago in lots of bits and pieces. Today I was back in the area so it was time to find the cache. It was blowing a gale so thankfully I located the cache very quickly without being sprung by passing muggles. Thanks Robmc for highlighting the CCT.

15-Feb-19
Forgot to log for 18/11/18. Was found with crank1, pwala and Everlasting. We enjoyed the Parkville Mega weekend. Thanks Robmc for the multi.

18-Nov-18
One of girls found it before us. Thanks for the cache and hunt.

18-Nov-18
Found It!
Yep, I found two CCT caches in one week - at this rate I might finish the series before the decade is out! WP3 is in the middle of a construction site so I had to take a guess at that one. And WP1 confused me since I got a single digit number. But I soon had a GZ that looked to be a likely spot and after a bit of searching around I found the cache!

Found it with pwala, kangas11 and everlasting, signed as C.P.K.E
Thanks for the cache.

Out today (Day 3 - Sunday) with Crank1, Everlasting and Kangas11 for the Mega event weekend at Parkville. Thanks for the cache. Nice strolling over the bridge and great views.

17-Nov-18
The first day of the Melbourne Parkville Mega event with the Godfather Freddo and gridge98, and we spent the day finding a few caches by car, learning about the SA Millicent 2020 Mega event, and then riding around the various river and rail bike trails collecting the Parkville caches. We ended the day by checking in to the Mega event, performing some lab caches, before having a nice cooked BBQ.

It was great to make another find of these bike trails whilst cycling around Melbourne. A cache found along this bike trail in a typical cache location. Nice day for riding and collecting these, thanks heaps for the work and preparation towards this cache! Cheers.

17-Nov-18
Cache found by the groovy white payhero crew on a mega Mexican Mega bike ride. Took a while to track down the cache.

17-Nov-18
Jamin is way better at these bridge finds than me. Thanks for another cache we could find while exploring on bikes. Another Team DFGJK victory.

17-Nov-18
Apologies for the generic log below:

Away for the weekend with Freddo and Davidwazza to the Parkville Mega.
My first mega that I had attended and I had a really enjoyable time.
Some of the log books were signed with my name others were signed with just a G part of the group name, a combination of KBJGD.
We were happily joined by KB who was a machine finding a lot of the caches.
Thanks to the CO for all the placement of caches, the earyh caches answers will be sent in the coming days also.
We were very successful in finding majority of caches but some we DNF.

My first weekend of solid caching in forever!
Although attending all the Vic mega events over the past few years I have always been to busy to go out and find caches. This weekend is going to be different! I drove down from Wangaratta early to start cycling the creek trails. I was out with a few cachers today so the log books were signed DFGJK being our initials.
I apologize for the completely generic logs but I didn’t have enough battery charge or time to make any notes throughout the day. We had a lot of fun exploring a part of town I probably never would’ve seen otherwise, so TFTC’s

Day 4 of our epic 12 day / 10 night trek to the Parkville Mega in Melbourne. Razz
The constant was my travel companions for the entire trip, - Anymules and S.A. Sewer Rats but we were joined by almost local cacher Bushfire once in Melbourne. Cool So to save space in the logs we usually just wrote our initials BABS to save space.
Time to test out the bikes we brought with us and ride the Moonee Ponds creek trail. Razz Then it was of to the Bowls event and then off for a walk around the area. Red Face We were joined by our new friend the delightful winged _kat. [8)]

The eagle eyes of Bushfire spied the cache as we wondered whether we were at the correct elevation. Smile

**Thanks Robmc for this cache. ** Big Grin

The Melbourne Mega has been and gone so now the hardest part for me is to log all these great caches that we have found over the past six days. We have had six days of full on caching which started with a few high D/T caches in Ballarat using kayaks, ladders, etc the assault started last Wednesday 14th November 18 but not without a few mishaps that included a tree fall, a number of bike mishaps and numerous bloodletting. Some of us look like the walking wounded but you just have to keep soldering on as there is always another cache to be found. I also have to include the stiff legs from all the kilometres walked.
Most logs were signed BABS which stands for brisal5, AnyMules, Bushfire and S.A Sewer Rats to save space in all the log books. This will a generic log owing to the huge number of caches to be logged so I would like to thank all cache owners for the time and effort it takes to place these caches and also for the maintenance of the said caches.
Again thanks to all the cache owners that helped to make the 2018 Melbourne Mega the great success that it was, so now to look forward to St. Arnaud next year where you will be blown away with the quality of the hides.
Save up your favourite points as you will use heaps in this area.
After the event we went for a long walk in the area and this guy was one that we passed.

Found on a walk after the near by event.

I had no real plan for today, other than to head in towards the city with my bike and grab a few more of the Parkville series. The meandered along the bike paths, was very enjoyable but I have a very sore backside and knees, by the end of the day. It was also good to run into a few other caching teams along the way.

Grabbed info and after a bit of head scratching, I worked out what I needed to do. Then once new co-ords where plugged into GPS, it was a quick find on the way back to the car.

Thanks Robmc for placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.

Thanks for the cache Robmc.

Found on a walk around the area with BABS. It took a little bit of looking around but then one of us spotted it, you just have to looking in the right direction. We were surprised to find it hadn't been logged by any other teams yet. This was the last find of the night for me. TFTC

**Found whilst out and about with The Empire today**.

Decided to head in and grab some the Parkville Puzzles / Challenge caches. Great weather for some walks with plenty of muggles out enjoying the winter sunshine.Decided to grab this nice little multi along the way.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment Robmc. Appreciate your efforts. Big Grin

After making a complete ballsup of the BAyside trail, I decided to soldier on and attempt this. Which I did with much more success.

25-Jan-18
Definitely stretching the definition of "on the way home" with this ride. But this is the furthest out of my way for the CCT series.

Those Orange floats have me confused. I counted them many times and came up with a number that didn't seem to work out. But luckily inserting a little bit of guess work in where that number would have gone did the trick. It did help having seen all the other CCT series hides except the final. I knew the kind of places to look! TFTC

13-Jan-18
Knowing that the CO had replaced this was the main reason for returning to the area. Pulled up in the car and walked to GZ where shortly I had the cache in hand. I know both Possums and I looked there last time so it was pleasing to be able to write my name in the log this visit.
Took note of the clues and had time to appreciate the river today. OIt hadn't started raining either.

Another missing CCT final, becoming a habit!
Replaced cache and clues.
It is now ready to be found.
Robmc.

08-Jan-18
Searched and searched here and resorted to messaging the CO who confirmed i was in the right spot. I see now why I didn't find it. Will have to get back down here and sign in to get my smiling face now.
Thanks for the hunt and the support Robmc

Posums and I made our triumphant return after work today.
After knowing all the spots from our previous visit, we made the find wothout much trouble.

TFTC and the quick attention to it's maintenance Robmc!

08-Jan-18
Got a message from chof-hoe saying that this cache has been replaced this morning.
We met up after work and we found it in the first place we looked.
We had scoured this whole area for a while yesterday and today we got a smiley face.
We decided to met up again on the weekend to find #6 now that it has been replaced as well .
It was just not our weekend for finding CCT caches only 1 out of the 3 that we did.
At least now it is 2 out of 3 from the weekend
Thanks for all of your efforts in this series.
Thanks Robmc TFTC.

07-Jan-18
Another CCT DNF for today. Theres not much more to say, other than:
We met up with 6Hinemoa again
We think we had the right coords
We definitely didn't find the cache
We definitely did spend over half an hour here.
We will be back

07-Jan-18
Got a call from chof-hoe and his side kick Morty asking if I'm intetested in doing a couple more of the CCT series today on our Geotreadlie's and I said you bet.
After doing CCT-7 and CCT-6 we relocated the Geoute that had the Geotreadlies on to Footscray but not before having yummy fish n chips at Conway’s for lunch.
Unpacked the bikes and after I stuffed up which way to go first and getting that look from chof-hoe and Morty, do I really know what I’m doing.
Met up with 6Hinemoa2 and her very understanding sidekick on the way at another cache and gave them a hand to find it.
At the last set of coords we had a rest, did the maths (I know it is hard on Sunday) and off we went to GZ.
After looking for a while, along came our friendly cacher again 6Hinemoa2 and even with an few extra sets of eyes we still could not spot anything.
I will be back as I need the coords for the final.
Thanks Robmc TFTC

This trail was close enough to a run home on the bike that it was worthwhile ticking it off and getting another CCT completed. One step closer to get CCT-0 trail. The clues were relatively simple enough and having collected all the details last week, tonight run home was time to collect. Easy...hmmm.

Well at the GZ, we started the search in the harder spots, climbing (and in cycling gear) to a spot we thought was logical. Nope. Only a single pigeon was hiding there. Hmm....reading a couple of logs while many muggles passed by, we got the helpful info we needed. While talking to the other half on the phone to "look normal" we finally spotting the familiar looking trait of Robmc containers...ah...there you are.

Now with the clues for CCT-0 in hand, another night of detours is line up to grab that info. Thanks Robmc for another CCT.

Hi Rob!! Well well well ..... I did another CCT by bike!

I'm so tired

And hot

And sweaty

And my bum is sore

Smile

My son was itching to get out of the house after a long time stuck inside as the children got chicken pox (yes- after vaccination)

We have spent days dabbing calamine on spots and keeping our lurgy away from others - they wouldn't let me go caching while walking in front of them, ringing a bell, and shouting "unclean". Spoilsports.

So we had nerf gun target shooting, we had my train set out, we had a "treehouse " which is a few sticks wedged in the pear tree, and we had monopoly.

It was suggested that I take my eldest on a long bike ride to test his new bike and to get the both of us out of the house as we were both well. Did you see the bit where I was asked again? NO! You didn't need to ask me twice! Hahah!

We started on the CCT and then off again where I got lost, and then on again.

We got to the point where the marker for this multi is , and I asked if he wanted to do it - he was agreeable and so I sat on the grass and wrote out all the questions on my notepad while getting bitten by ants. Note to future seekers - don't sit there!

We went to the bit where you cycle over the bridge along Footscray road - and I remembered that time you told me how to cycle to Williamstown- along Footscray road... I hadn't worked it out in my head as I'm just not wired that way, but now I see!!

We had to navigate our way past a wall of used portaloos - STENCH! Barf. The whole area had been set up for a recent festival- something to do with food and the anchor was fenced off . The workers were on a break and we worked our way through a maze of mesh fences to the cycle path ... phew! Made it!!

Something was making my satellite "me dot" be way, way off where it should be, so I went back and forth along there a lot, looking for the data - eventually, satisfied I had it, and son satisfied that he had read all the information signs (he LOVES information signs) we went to the waypoint that was a bit more distant.

Initially we were a bit flummoxed - although my son was much more certain he knew the answer. A helpful local offered to tell me about what we were standing at- and he had been right. Haha

We went close to waypoint 5 and had lunch on a shady bench. Delightful!! A passing tour boat gave us a toot and a wave. We took the opportunity to ponder the greater questions such as "is there a CCT where the hint ISN'T .... well .... you know.

At the final Wp I sat in a not very ladylike way doing the maths and trying to rub some life back into my buttocks after all that saddle stuff. My mother would have been mortified at the ungainly and public buttock rubbing. And maybe not so impressed by the way I'd stand up periodically and shout "my bottom huuuurts".

I had one piece of data wrong but thankfully applying common sense and using the maths to guide me, I actually got a set of coords that looked feasible- and was joyful when I found the cache.

We had a hard ride home as we were both tired - the kid AND the middle aged mum. We stopped by my mum's favourite Australian tree (she's emailed it and received a reply from it- that's a real thing you can do!) I took a photo to show her, and then went home for soda stream lemonade and much flopping about, saying "I'm SO TIRED"

Thanks for the next CCT cache - I'm working my way round Smile

17-Jan-17
Having completed one of the other CCT caches I continued on to this one by car. With a combination of driving and walking I picked up the required clues. At Gz there were a few muggles around but I found the cache quickly, in a nice accessible spot. Thanks Robmc

Found by The Empire
I had some of the waypoint answers in my phone from a previous visit and was able to calculate some GZ co-ordinates walking along the bike path this morning. It was a lovely morning, plenty of people running/walking/riding. As I was walking along the stretch between the road/train bridge and the walk bridge I noticed a runner struggling/stretching in the distance - I didn't think much of it - I had headphones on, kept walking, he was about 100 metres down another track anyway.

I found the cache quickly, signing the log between muggle activity. Doing a U turn, heading back the way I'd come, I had to head to the Stingray cache before returning to the car. I saw the same runner laying on the track, out cold. There was already a guy and a pram, and a bike rider with him. I ran over, they were already on the phone to 000 and we were joined by more people. There was an ambulance on the way. We had him in the recovery position, on his side, and I had to run to the nearest carpark to await the arrival of paramedics, ensuring they go to the guy before he got worse.

I ran. Like the wind. We flagged down the ambulance and directed it to a way to where the man had fallen. They raced down the track with lights and sirens blaring. By the time I got back there, he was up and they were putting him the back of ambulance. It turns out he was a long distance runner, suffering what seemed like dehydration, he had stopped due to cramping. Whilst stretching the dehydration had caused him to have a fit. The paramedics assured us he'd be OK, he was on a drip and heading to the nearest hospital when we all went our seperate ways. We got a thumbs up from the man, which made us feel a little better.

It was a surreal feeling heading to the next cache, I was buggered! But glad that the man was OK, and in the right hands. Thanks for the cache Robmc.

I had started this one a couple of weeks ago but due to my chosen mode of transport travelling between the WPs of each of these multis (Shanks Pony) I had to visit a doctor who told me that walking 11-12km every second day had aggravated the tendons and ligaments around my left ankle and that I had to rest it and engage in non-weight bearing exercise as I lost weight.
I recall that I did something similar a couple of years ago at about the same weight - most of my body and mind say one thing and my feet say another .
Today saw me complete the last two WPs on this multi after an extended break and come up with a feasible GZ. Unfortunately GZ must also be important with Pokemon players as I had to loiter as they set their lures and waited the half hour cycle. Dodgy anyone? No, three or four people staring at their screen for 10-15minutes isn't suss at all, especially when one starts climbing up and around GZ and frisking bridge supports!
I also had the added concern as to whether I was out of touch with the series' hides given that I couldn't find the cache for CCT-1 despite having visited GZ a couple of times.
Well after much looking with both eyes and fingers I spied the container at one of the easiest spots that I hadn't looked. Thankfully I didn't decide to clamber up the underside of the bridge and go around feeling for the container on the ledge.
The find was all the sweeter for the delay both because of my ankle and looking in all the wrong places.
TNLNSL and visited a couple of personal TBs. Now back to CCT-1!

27-Mar-16
I had a really lazy easter period so headed out for a ride on the bike again today to do this cache (My 5th of the 9 in the series). It was a bit cool and windy today but that forced me to pedal to keep warm (its an electric bike) so I wasn't used to doing that so I'm really tired now.
I had no problems ***collecting*** the clues it was just ***recording*** of the clues that was the problem. Luckily I took photos of all the locations so I could double check if I had a problem.
I calculated my GZ and really unluckily I had one number wrong but it actually matched the hint.
So after a couple of minutes of looking I thought I would recheck my calculation and low and behold, I had stuffed up my numbers as usual and with my new GZ I was heading back to where I just came from.
Once at this location, the find was much easier. No finders since last October...almost unloved.
I noted down the clues for the final and gathered the answers to those on my way back through the city to home.
Thanks Robmc for the cache, the hunt and the fun.

29-Oct-15
I've only been on a bike twice in the last five years, so although the Capital City Trail has been tempting for a while I've been putting it off. I live near the Maribrynong River, so I thought I'd give the old bike legs a stretch and just do the one today. The first kilometre nearly killed me, but the other 11km were fine. Visited a couple of other caches, and then did the waypoints on my way home, by which time stopping every 300m was welcome! I was soon at GZ, and after peering into a couple hard places, I found the cache easily! Took a photo of the clues, signed the log and got it back without anyone seeing. I'm really looking forward to the rest of the series, (although that sentiment may fade when I wake up with sore legs tomorrow!), so thanks Robmc!!!

Collect the clues early last year..
Came back to find it here.
Enjoy ride the bicycle along the river trail.

12-Sep-15
Today I started from the zoo picking up some caches slog the way and gathering some clues for CCT-0 , the rain I experienced on the drive here disappeared and sun shone all the way on my bike ride. The clue gathering for this cache went well and I sat down after the third one to see if I had enough numbers without visiting the last. Even though I did have enough numbers for GZ I stilled visited the final waypoint seeing an amazing Chinese temple being built along side the river. Once at GZ I looked from below and saw some nooks before venturing up to find some more and then finding the cache. I was expecting something trickier after previous loggers attempt. Thanks for the ride, I have almost finished the caches in the series with only CCT-0 to go , I might join up with previous finder to finish it off, thanks for the fun Smile

Find #1301

Had to head out west on an errand so on the way back across town I stopped near to where I had calculated GZ to be on a previous occasion. Having had a chat with the CO at a recent event I had a good idea where it was and was able to find the cache pretty quickly this time. This is my last in the series to collect the clues so just the final to complete now on this great bike trail series. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited a trackable. Thanks for the multi cache Robmc and I'm pleased to be closing in on the final here.

03-May-15
Did a few others out west on the bike on a pleasant Sunday arvo bike ride. Light was failing as I arrived at my calculated GZ and unfortunately I couldn't make the find. I'll be back to try again. Thanks anyway Robmc.

28-Jan-15
Found tonight on my way to work. Have always enjoyed the xtra exercise of riding to a cache.
Thanks for another in your series Rob, nicely tucked away

31-Aug-14
We are coming closer to finish the series. CCT-8 was the second cache of the day and it was the second attempt to find it. Must have been gone the first time since we had it in hands after seconds today.

Nice ride this morning on the Maribrynong. Been meaning to tackle this series for a while and happy to have the first one under my belt. Tfgc

20-Jul-14
Another trail in the series now completed, I had the clues gathered on a previous visit to the area but had not proceeded to the end. Today was the day to address that, and I was thrilled when I was able to locate the hide. A nice spot and plenty of racing action in progress, but after waiting for a break I was able to grab the container.
Thanks to Robmc for the cache.

15/07/2014 1:03 pm Find #3540 Yay, at long last I can claim a find for this after an earlier DNF now that the cache has been replaced. I was happy to find the cache exactly where I had searched last time and I've learnt a bit of history along the way. Thanks Robmc.

12-Jul-14
Took the ride out this this cache on an unexpectedly sunny day.
It was gone! Fortunately correspondence with abl973 led us to this conclusion, so we had a replacement with us.
Thanks abl973 for the dnf.
Same Bat channel, same Bat time, same Bat spot!
Thanks, Robmc.

27-Jun-14
Don't ya just hate it when you can't find the cache? I spent about 45min looking here…over there…back here again…..I'd better check my maths.

12-Oct-13
I've been working on this series for a while now, completing the GZ for a few but needing to revisit a couple to finish them off. Today was bright and sun-shiny (and hot - I'm still in winter mode) so I opted for the lazier 4 wheel, two leg option today. Parking nearby I scouted out GZ, trying a few locations until eventually I returned to my first most likely spot - on the other side of the path - which yielded the desired result. Quite a few muggles out and about but all moving by so they weren't a problem. TFTC

18-Sep-13
Today I was on my bike caching with a couple of hours to spare, so I decided that another CCT cache was a fitting way to end the day. I found all the info I needed easily and enjoyed the find at GZ (forgot the CCT clues again GRRR) and then within minutes of returning the cache, torrential rain suddenly started forcing me to take makeshift cover under a bridge watching ducks hunt for worms for the next 45 minutes.. lucky I like ducks.
Thanks Robmc, I really enjoyed my exploration of the mighty Nong today.

21-Mar-13
It's been ages since I've been on a lunchtime cache run and my hope that the approaching weather would keep muggles away payed off. Only a couple of people out and about today so no trouble with a quick find.
Signed log, grabbed clues and off.
Thanks Robmc for the series. Only one to go, then the job of collecting the last few clues for the final.

14-Mar-13
After cycling across from Hawthorn for a doctors appointment in Newport, came up to do another fine leg of the CCT series. The weather was clear and cool, unlike the nine days before that all topped 33C.

The works on the new rail bridge did necessitate a detour to the other side of the river, but not too far out of the way.

You wouldn't believe it, but GZ is precisely where I proposed marriage to my *former* wife many years ago when we lived together nearby. Geez, now there is an unfortunate memory!!

On the way back home collected the clues for this cache (and for Bayside) so I'm a bit closer to finishing all this up. Only two more legs to complete.

No luck today with this multi.

I found all the stages and gathered the required information did the sums and ended up in the middle of the park. I sent an email off to the CO, on his reply; it became apparent that I don't my animals.

I will return at a later date to complete this multi.

Thanks for hunt Robmc

The first of our nine capital city trail caches. A much longer multi than caching buddy Hamjar and I thought. Still, fond memories of rowing our way up this river.... well sort of! Eight to go, thanks robmc

Maybe going for a walk in the heat after a visit to the blood bank isn't the smartest thing to do... But I wanted to try and grab the clues of the last outstanding CCT cache, so I could plan for number zero. It wasn't a tough walk, as it turned out, and I enjoyed the stroll along the river.

This bike path is one I've had the pleasure of more times than I can recall, so I could guess where the cache was going to end up being, but that was still a pretty big haystack to find a needle in. The calculated coordinates were dead accurate, so there was no drama on that score.

Now, I just need to get to GZ on the Willy cache when there's nobody fishing there...

Thanks, Robmc, for the caches in this series, and the recent re-jig.

I had collected all info a couple of weeks ago, however had to wait until the cache was enabled again before signing the log. Only the final to go from this series! TFTC

# 1905. Completed the riding and the answering of the questions quite some time ago and worked out the coordinates but alas the bridge was still out of bounds. Today we parked the car and walked in the wind and the rain to make a mark on the log book. It was nice to see the bridge unveiled in her new grey paint with the interesting timber side panels to keep errant cyclists and walkers (instead of cattle) from falling in the river. Thanks Robmc for another cycling trail cache.

Timing was perfect here.

I was only 5min away from GZ when this was re-enabled.

A little later I was making my way to GZ for a quick find.

A great cache and I look forward to completing the rest of the series.

The work on GZ had finally been completed! (I see that in the beginning of July it was going to take a month!)...anyway, the cache is back in its location.
Thanks to themd for the progress reports.

Hi Robmc,

Not sure if you are aware but drove past today and the works are completed.

Cheers themd

Went down to GZ today but the work, although it was due for completion at the end of July, still hasn't finished. They have had more problems that first expected.
Standby for further updates.

Some work being done on the trail - when they have finished (end of the month), I will re-activate the cache.
Thanks for the information themd.

I headed out tonight for another huge Monday night cache run with my good mates Blacklegend (Marshy) and Trailrunning (Adrian). The weather was perfect for caching as it was quite warm the whole night and rather balmy as well - tshirt weather all the way. We met at Marshy's base in Ivanhoe and had planned to go to Altona first then make our way across to Warburton but the plans soon changed when a few hours in to our run a bunch of news caches was published. We ended up going for FTF's as well as having a crack at two tricky caches that hadn't been found yet including Alton Beach and Rockin Bridge.

We ended up going to Altona first then to Ringwood then back to Ivanhoe for some FTF's then up to Kinglake and then down to Cockatoo and then up to Lilydale before heading back to Ivanhoe. Dare to say we travelled a few kms but it was worth it with a well earned 6 FTF's for the night.

This was a cache that TR had attempted previousily but din't find as the cache hadn't been there. A couple of muggles about tonight but once they had moved on we found the cache in the firt place we looked. Thanks Robmc.

Another legendary night caching run with my good mates Marty (Quasar3671) and Adrian (Trailrunning) on what are now our Monday night cache runs. One of 30 caches for me for the night. Special night where we picked up 6 FTF's travelling from Hidelberg to Altona for a FTF, then Melbourne City, Ringwood, back go Hidelberg for FTF's, up to Kinglake for a FTF, then down and back via Cockatoo-Emerald for two more FTF's, including a cache which had been out for 2 months and remained unfound until we unleashed our caching might upon it.... So a great night, over 300 kms driven, and some great caching adventures with great company. Few UDL's consumed during the night celebrating the FTF success.

One that TR had solved, and in fact, he had been here before but the cache wasn't here. Quick grab between muggles. TFTC.

Another Monday night comes around and my good buddy Blacklegend is down from Tocomwal. We meet up with Quasar3671 at BL's home base and head out for a night of awesome caching. The team is out to find caches tonight, not just search for them, and we have a number of caches on the radar that are still FTF chances even though others have searched for them. We start at a steady pace, but about 9 pm, when we are happily sitting in the Ringwood Macca's having a meal break, there's a number of alerts come through that get us running to the car. Quick navigation checks and we are off. We quickly piece together a FTF hunt strategy for this series of new caches, and to be honest it paid off with only 1 2TF on the four new caches published in the north and east of Melbourne. That makes it a total of 6 FTF for the night/early morning run.
This cache I'd attempted before the refurbishment so it was a DNF on that occasion but this time it was in the first place we looked. Another one crossed off. Thanks RobMC

Have a nice ride.

Hopefully back online soon.

This is my third CCT cache, but the first one I've found. My first attempt was CCT2, but the cache has been buried in concrete. Then last week I tried CCT4, but I got stuck on the first clue, so this was nice to get and it was quite straight forward, even though the last clue and the cache were done in the dark.

Cheers!

Find 5/6 for the day, I did all the caches along the Maribyrnong north to south. This means that I solved all these clues in the reverse order, my hint is not to do so, you'll save yourself some time once you know all the numbers Smile Other hints - clue 1 has no handy parking so get yourself a chauffeur; clue 4 isn't very obvious so you might need to swap your numbers around like I did; and tread carefully in clue 5! It's falling apart.

Thanks for the cache, I'd like to do the other 7 in the series, but don't know if I have the time.

We decided this one wasn't too far to walk...The youngling's hat blew into the river (many thanks to the blokes fishing for hats below the bridge!), there was a mild dispute over the identity of the rock pile and thus a couple of options for the finish....Robmc wouldn't put it there, so it must be there...and there it was! Thanks for an enjoyable afternoon.

#745. Found all the waypoints 5 days ago, but in reverse order. Not the wisest move. But it gave an excuse to come back again for the nice walk to the final tonight. All quiet at GZ.

It looks like I'm the first person to find this cache this year, which is surprising. The distance isn't that long - you could walk it if you felt like a bit of a stroll and didn't have a bike. It's a very nice area, so I appreciated being drawn to it by this and a couple of other caches. I forgot to pick up the clue for CCT-0, so I might have to return to get it at some stage.

I enjoyed the journey and picking up the clues, and the final location was a suitable spot. I also bumped into a cacher for the first time when 'on the job' - Stagetree saw me with my GPSr and introduced himself.

This was an other nice walk along riverside. I got a lot excercise at an other cache of this series. Fortunately it wasn't needed here, although at first I feared so. The pigeon spotted by Team Rubik is still there.

This was cache number two in the early hours of this morning. After collecting all the info I toddled off to GZ and made a presumption about where to look. "Wow Robmc, great camo!" I thought, "it looks just like a dead pigeon!".

It was.

I waited for the GPS to settle and then there was only one place it could be!

Memorable for the wrong reasons!Smile

Thanks,

I thought this cache might be here somewhere, especially as I'd heard whisper of its proximity to another cache.
I'm kind of embarrassed to log it, but there you go.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks Robmc. I've got two so far, so I'm still a way away from completing the series. I think this spring might be a good time for it.

When I started yesterday, I thought, I could find all CCT-caches in just one day. I managed to find one of them Sad This one.

The problem was not the distance. First I misunderstood the connection between CCT-0 and die other CCTs and started to look for the first stages without the hints. Then I droped my print-out into the river and had to chase it and then wait until it was dry enough. Finally I could not log CCT-1 because of anglers. I even went there twice without any luck.

So altogether I rode almost 60 km (not only for the CCT-caches) and only found this single cache of the series. But I will collect them all before I return to Germany, no matter how often I have to go.

Diane had collected all the necessary info last October whilst waiting for Cracker Girl to finish an exam but ran out of time to collect the cache. We decided to make a slight detour on our way out west to finally pick up another one in this series

This was the hardest to get at. So many walkers and bike riders made it hard to search. After a while there was a brake in the traffic and we were able to sign the log.
Thanks Robmc for the cache,

Having more or less recovered from our PTPP exploits of last weekend, we novice bikies were off again, to add to our bike trail cache finds. Started from North Melbourne Station, having had our excitement for the day when we found that there were no trains between Glenroy and Essendon today. Fitting two bikes into the passageway/doorway on the replacement bus and dealing with a very jerky driver was certainly an experience. After a detour to Ralph's Forest we found the clues and the cache easily. Watched some girls practising their rowing while we waited for muggles to pass, picked up the cache and wrote our log.

I thought I desrved a day off work today, so I decided to head over to Willi for a few caches. After a good start to this series, I didn't seem to do much for quite a while, but after nabbing CCT1 last week, I thought I'd better continue the good work and get this one today. Everything went smoothly (including a bit of off-road riding on my motorbike - who needs a pushie Wink) and the cache yielded after a short search. I must say the bike path is much prettier than the dirt road route I followed - quite a wasteland in parts around there! I thought I'd skip the last wp - but eventually decided to do it after all Wink.

First find for this one for a while! Only a little bit of uncertainty over point 4 hindered an easy set of clues and I was soon looking at gz. A few minutes resulted in a find and the thought that Robmc needs to go to a paint shop! T Shell, L Monkey. Well, That completes the set, bar the final cache. Today or not today? Hell - today!

Found at 12.30pm GAFF4. Finally found this cache after some consultation with a couple of our "advisors". It really wasn't that hard! Thanks Robmc - we are now very close to finishing this series. Took: Padlock, Left: Spiderman key ring.
ps: This is our 1,500th find - which is a bit ironic considering the drama involved in finding the cache.

Found at 09:10. I must post a note to self reminding me to never do a multi cache after being up for twenty four hours. I really enjoyed the location of this cache; it was in an area that I have never been to before. I collected all the clues and then made a big mistake on the final due to my tired eyes reading the palm wrong, I ended up playing dodge with trucks at the docks for about fifteen minutes as I tried to get to my calculated GZ. I then admitted defeat and made a few calls for help. Thanks Rob for another great cache.

Hi Rob
After a very pleasant walk in the early evening light and nearly dark, the cache is found. The days sure are short this time of year. Thanks Robmc for this series, this cache and for accompanying us tonight, very pleasant as always. TNLN again. BTW It's definately my shout next outing. Smile
