Any word on this one is it still there? I think I sent the Queenslanders on a goose chase.

28-Dec-07
A very busy spot at certain times I expect, however it was quiet today which made for an easy hunt.
- 2 TB's, + 2 TB's
Cheers, really enjoyed the inspection of Canberra while I was here [^]

dropping off TB

24-Nov-07
Dropped off two TB's here although had I read a few a few of the logs first I might not have. While we were there I felt the location is a little sus given that there are signs to say not to proceed into the area and I notice others have made similar observations. Might be worth a rethink I'd suggest.
Thanks.

24-Nov-07
Like others, I was surprised to see the changed security around this area, but we weren't troubled today. A quick find and we were on our way.
Thanks, Robmc.

14-Nov-07
Found in company of Vombatus. I was useful to have a 2nd person around as there were lots of muggles. It may have been just us but I felt very uncomfortable about picking up this cache and given the current security measures around airports it may cause some issues in the future.
Took TB
Thanks

Found this with Teppwa whilst working locally. I have read Teppwa's log and agree. It might just be us. I did like looking over the feature at this location. What an incredible thing.

Tks

Second quick find of the day @ 0830 hrs. We hid behind the bomber pretending to take photos whilst we searched for the cache. There was no room for anything else in the cache as all the space was taken up with a monstrous key TB.
Thanks for the cache, Mr Coffee.

07-Nov-07
Found at 1120. Found after a 5 min search, as there were a few muggles cars passing from time to time and had to wait. Really don't like hanging around airports searching for caches.

Approached this cache at about 9:00pm last night. Immediately the security guard yelled out a message over his PA. I friendly approached him and asked him if he'd heard of geocaching. He hadn't, and told me that we were on private property (I have my doubts, but still....). He told me that it used to be public property but not anymore.

Was also worried about the "No public access" sign.

Would strongly recommend that this cache is moved to somewhere more safe, especially as it is meant to be a TB lounge.

18-Jun-07
First time I have been here since the changes to active airport. I was surprised just how busy it was and worried when I found the final cache container which looked pretty intimating this close to the airport. Logged cache, grabbed tb's and moved before security passed by. TFTC

10-Jun-07

Found with geowife on our way to Geelong to see some relatives. Easy enough to find, but we were a bit put off by the sign at the round-a-bout saying "no public access". We trespassed anyway and escaped before any security people turned up. Signed the log, grabbed a German geocoin and left the Mobile One TB.

Found with Lat&Long Junkie on our way to Point Lonsdale. Avalon is a busy little place! TFTC TN/LN/SL

Happened to be down from Toowoomba to attend the Avalon Airshow and thought this cache was just to good an opportunity to pass up.

Took some photos of the Canberra Bomber before finding the cache. Even though the Airshow was on this was an easy find and no problems with the security.

17-Feb-07
Mrs Gribbly wouldn't let me grab this one as it looks to be in the security controlled out of bounds employee only area.

17-Feb-07
Dropped by to check on the cache and it's access. The sign about entry is to stop employees taking shortcuts, however the public is welcome to go and have a look at Canberra. I confirmed this with security and all is OK, they did ask that geocachers do not go further than the cache. Security will be tightened during the air show and with plenty of muggles around I ask people to be extra careful as the cache contains travel bugs belonging to others.

11-Feb-07
This was our second attempt at this cache with a lot more success today. We used the same m.o. as most other caches and pretended to take photographs. As we are doing the fireworks for the airshow in a few weeks time we approached the security guard to see how preparations are going and he informed us that all was going extremely well but security around the area will be tightened quite a bit, so between now and the end of the airshow we advise people to use extra care when doing this cache
As we had no TB's today we took nothing, left nothing
Thanks Mr Coffee and the clan for an interesting little stopover

11-Feb-07
Found this very windy day by Mr Emu & son @ 11.45am. This was an interesting little side track from the Geelong-Melbourne Rd. We've never thought to drop in before, and a geocache is - as always - the best excuse to see a new area. Mr Emu has some work-related travel coming up, and thought some of the TB's might like a trip. Thanks to Mr.Coffee and the Coffee Clan.

Took: Nil; Left: Nil
TBs: Took: "CR-124" & "Russ"; Left: "My Nuts"

17-Jan-07
Called in to drop off TBs 'RUSS' (he wants to go to Tasmania for obvious reasons) and 'CR-124', that likes to be seen with aircraft. Collected TB 'Sandy' while we were there, and we'll take it northwards in a couple of days.

12-Jan-07
After arriving at the "blast from the past" plane ,parked the car and zeroed in the exact gz area.At the first movement a rabbit took a huge jump and scuttled off, under the plane and vanished.A short time later found the well hidden "lounge" and did the bookwork.Certainly a huge airport setup out here much more than imagined.TNLN and thanks to the interstate cachers and coffee drinkers.

04-Jan-07
I have found this cache as part of JADE004, but have now created my own separate account (therefore I am not shown in the log book under this username).

04-Jan-07
Good start, except for the thousands of flies hanging around and a rabbit that appeared. I don't know who got the biggest fright, the rabbit or Geokid! Dropped our first ever TB off "Sandy" on her worldly adventure hopefully!

02-Jan-07
Smile I have been to this cache before but I was going to put the TB I received from Unite for Diabetes in here to get it on the way. I searched around the area, where this cache was when I was last at it and I couldn't find it. My last visit I did note that it was light on in the way of anything to exchange, So I am wondering if this cache has been muggled. I will email Mr Coffee and the coffee clan and let them know that this may need to be checked.

Found @ 15:45

Well we've finally found this cache very quickly, not like the long and fruitless search last time we were here.

The log in the book says TB Swap - too dark to see what we took or placed.

Now that I'm home I can report that we left "Rock" and picked up "X-Plorers Field Trip".

24-Mar-06
Found at 7.40pm GAFF1. On our way to Ocean Grove, we zipped in to do this cache and hoped that it wouldn't take us too long. Found a few likely looking spots which were havens for rabbits and luckily the second hole we looked in was successful. Cache container paint was still holding up, so 24.75 years to go! Thanks Coffee's tn/ln.

13-Mar-06
As we have some TB's we need to move, we spent some time looking for this one at around 15:00

Unfortunately we didn't find it.

We did find the spot we think it should be, but the only thing of any significance there was a concrete block. Sad

08-Mar-06
Last of eight finds for the day on the way to Geelong to see Emu-M compete in the inter-school swimming carnival. I had driven past this one on several occasions, but this time I was determined to log it. I found it at 1645 after a short search. I had five TBs with me to drop off, and I was expecting a larger container, like an ammo box. You could certainly fit one here. Anyhow, I grabbed the four TBs that were in the cache, and managed to squeeze the five replacements in.

While I was filling in the log two cars pulled up, and I thought they might be geocachers. They weren't! They were there to look at the Canberra Bomber nearby. "Just what I need", I thought! However, I managed to replace the cache while they were around the other side of the 'plane. Thanks to the Brazilian Bean Benders for the cache.

On the way down to the Cattery for an overnight stay before AWG50, this one popped up on the radar and was too close to leave. A short excursion off the main road and a quick search had the cache in hand at 18:15.

TNLNSL. With some potential trips from here coming up soon, a few TB exchanges might be made. Watch this space!!! Thanks Mr.Coffee and the Coffee Clan.

08-Feb-06
This cache probably took the longest of all the caches attempted today. I looked around quickly but failed to find it. Another circle with a more detailed search again failed. Finally, a very thorough search located it.

No exchange was made. After logging my find and replacing the cache, I had a bit of a look around at the nearby aircraft before heading off for more caches. Thanks for bringing me here, and for the cache.

07-Feb-06
Cache twenty-eight of thirty for the day. The cache was found at 21:10 on my western assault day. A nice easy drive by. I soon had the cache in hand and returned to the car to log it and to exchange some bugs. I dropped of the TB giraffe and picked up the chicken TB. This sure was a quite airport. Thanks Coffee clan. I liked the plane near to GZ.

06-Feb-06
Did a bit of work on Oenze's car this evening so we went down here for a road test. Thats the excuse anyway!!
Dropped off two TB's (the red hat and Elli's friend) I hope they get to go for a nice trip somewhere soon. Also took a train TB. Haven't read it's goals yet.
Found the cache easily enough and admired the nearby -----!Many thanks to the Coffee team for the pleasant diversion.

Nice area.....liked the cache name now.

Found after waiting several minutes for muggles to disappear and then the rain to stop. Was a bit worried about security, however i placed my life in your hands and was rewarded with the cache.

Dropped off TBs, picked up some

A beautiful evening, too good to be sitting inside, so the entire family took off to Avalon.
Arriving at GZ we didn't quite know where to park. Eventually, hoping no one would notice or care, we parked on the grass and grabbed the cache in the 2nd place we looked.
Our excuse was going to be pictures with the plane.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks Mr.Coffee. An interesting location, but one that we didn't explore too long in case someone came looking and wondering what we were doing.

Dear Coffees,

We found your cache today at 3:45pm. This was the twelfth cache of fourteen on our tour of the Bellarine Peninsula. We weren't planning on this one today but on the way home, we coudn't resist and made an easy STF. The area around the cache was a bit plane though Big Grin. Thanks for the cache.
