This is the 4th last of timgrins caches I had to find, having done his excellent Walkways of Otago series. I found the cache easily - pity it isnt the original but still its a find, thank you. I came along the beach as suggested but the tide is coming in so I will go back along the top of the bank, on the track. TFTC
Trouve ! / Found it ! J'ai bien trouv la boite de remplacement pose par edvern. Tout est bien en place et la vue incroyable. Merci 5147me cache trouve.Merci timgrin pour la cache I found the replacement box installed by Edvern. Everything is in place and the view is incredible. Thank you 5147th cache found.Thank you timgrin for the cache
Looked for this in the only possible location in a prickly hole. All I found was a broken piece of sistema container. Placed a pill bottle replacement and log book under the brace in the hole. Hope that is ok with the owner. Spectacular views from here TFTC
Such a great view. Pretty easy find. TFTC. Container is pretty brittle, too much NZ sun
We're currently travelling New Zealand in search of adventures. We're exploring from Dunedin to Christchurch.

A tricky find here given the amount of time since the last finder, but the cache is in good condition. TFTC

Lovely walk with geo friend and my dog. The sea was a beautiful colour with big waves rolling in , the tide was high so no sign of the wreck.
Cache easy find, dry and in good condition. We took the high track and then walked back along the beach picking up plastic on the way. Thanks for bringing us here.

#21277. This cache was placed the same year as I started caching (2006) but for some reason we had never got round to stopping to look for it. Today we weren't traveling too far south, so had time for a few detours (including to caches that required a bit of walking). The parking area at the end of the road was quite busy, but we had the track along the top of the cliff to ourselves (I wonder how much of the paddock is lost to the sea each year). Cache was a quick find once at GZ. Good to knock off another old cache. Once back at the car we had a well earned lunch. TFTC.
Found with StreetWalkerNZ as we (slowly) drive south to Glenavy from Christchurch for Queens Birthday weekend.
How many times have we driven down SH1 without stopping for this cache? Today was the day, and we drove the short distance to the parking area, which was surprisingly busy. A short walk along the cliff top (trying not to think about how prone to erosion this section must be), and we were soon at GZ where SW quickly found the cache. Didn't spot the wreck. TFTC.

Another in a series of random trips around the country, this weekend brings my down to Christchurch for a road trip down to Timaru for the Saturday night, and back home to Wellington on Sunday. With only a few real life commitments in between I had plenty of spare time for targeting some specific caches along the way (as required for some of my geocaching goals), as well as a few random others. This was one of them.
A nice day for a walk along this oceanside path. Didn't take long to find the cache safely tucked away.
Thanks to timgrin for placing this cache here.

Went to the beach, admired the stones and the waves, then thought - will go along and to this cache. But changed the way of approach and went straight up from the parking along the top. Much easier access along the top! Terrain 1.5 this way.
But I did find a magic wand down by the beach!
Kia ora! Paldies!

Went here to get this log, only to forget my pen, a detour back to the car and climb up the the hill only to find a pen inside the cache.
Great cache fantastic view, I'm surprised it's not found more.

I usually drive past this one due to time limits but today I decided I would make the time. I enjoyed the walk out to here with the waves crashing below. Turns out this was a timely find to save it from an unloved status for another year. TFTC # 17,675
This morning we decides to and found some geocaches nearby Timaru. This was the last one. We enjoyed the walk and found the cache. Thanks to show us the place and for the cache!
A lovely long weekend in Geraldine with BCD and a lunch stop in Timaru before heading home. A nice wee stroll to get this one with awesome views along the coast TFTC
We are on our summer holiday driving around the South Island with no real idea of where we will end up each day. We are often drawn to an area that has the potential to give us a few geocaching smilies and somewhere we have not spent time exploring before. In some cases we are revisiting placed that we have been before but liked so much we are going there again.GK went up to find the cache, which he did after making his way through waist high gorse. Seems to be a fairly common occurance for him on this trip, he is looking a little like a pin cushion.
We spent time looking at the pretty stones and trying to work out if what we were seeing was anything to do with the shipwreck or if it was just a rocky reef we were seeing,
Anyway we enjoyed being on the beach and having a wee look around the area.
Thank you for placing the cahe and thank you for the smiley

Great find! Guarded by Eric the seal and some very thorny gorse. We recommend the cliff track.
Another day on the road, and anothers caches
After several attempts, I found the right spot
What a view !!!

Needed a walk to help with all the excesses of Christmas, and had been wanting to find this cache for awhile, beaut area, beaut walk, and a cache and a smiley! Thanks oh and a trackable!
Easy find, altough I won't recommend to walk up on the bank on the south side, very prickly bush!
No wreck spotted today but still some amazing views well worth the adventure. Tftc found with Rayzr2
Unfortunately we came at high tide so couldn't spot the wreck bit of a shame really out on a mini geo adventure with team_macdonald found the cache exactly where we expected it to be TFTC
Cool site for a cache. Pretty sure it was a shining cuckoo sitting on the post and I got within 3m of it. Tftc
This is one of my favourites, looking out to see into .... well nothing really. Just a nice place to visit. Thankyou.
Greetings from West Sacramento, California! Papa EGTH and I are on Day 13 of our 19-day caching honeymoon and today we traveled from Dunedin to Christchurch.
We detoured off of the highway to get this cache. It was tough getting up to GZ from the beach, so we should have stuck with the ridge trail instead of walking down the beach, but if we had done the ridge trail, we would not have seen all the perfect skipping stones! I've never seen such beautiful, flat, round stones in one spot before! We also saw a seal on the beach, but it went back into the water before I could get a photo. We couldn't see the wreck very well since the ocean was a bit rough, but we saw a vague outline in kelp just offshore. Plus it was high tide. The field next to the cache was mustard in full bloom (see photo). Thanks!

HockeyHiker19 and I were on Day 13 of our Geocaching honeymoon in New Zealand. On this day we traveled from Dunedin to Christchurch.
We had been driving a while so HockeyHiker19 asked to make a detour to go after this cache. We approached on the rock skipper's dream beach (lots of flat and round rocks!) for 15 minutes until we were as close to GZ as we could get. Then we scrambled uphill until we were on the bluff and made a quick find of the cache. Instead of going back on the beach, we opted to walk back along the bluff.

Stunning day for a coastal walk. Although a very low tide no view of the ship wreck. TFTC.
In Timaru for a wee family weekend getaway. After visiting the lighthouse I made the quick detour to this spot whilst the family warmed up back in the car (cold wind)...great spot...but with the tide in nothing much to see. Cheers.
number 300 for bcd Took the low route to this one , no sign of ''private Ryan'' while I stormed the cliffs to the cache
Found by 5ToedSloth (now NZGecko) after a nice walk on the beach (and along the ridge for this one). TFTC
It was a hot day and I didn't really want to walk along to this one after walking to the lighthouse and back, but I still found it before Dad (Rincewind3) could!

On our return from a walk up to Shining Light I noticed another cache was nearby. It seemed rude not to pop along to sign the log
A short walk along the top (the track is mostly gone so we walked in the paddock) and 5ToedSloth ( formerly Rincewind jr ) made the find.

A nice walk along the beach and a scramble up to get to this one, on a wet day driving home. Thanks for the hide.
Could not find but certainly got lots of gorse jabs. Lighthouse further up was good find.
Walked the beach to cache and then cliff back. Found quickly. Lovely coast.
Cache was rather soaked, but a lovely evening to be out for a walk on the coast! Cheers Gav
nice spot, the cache was quite wet. sat for 10 minutes on the cliff with the wind blowing hard trying to dry the cache abit. tftc.
WOOT! FTF in 2012. Roamed around for awhile trying to locate the cache and finally spotted its whereabouts. Thanks!
Had a bit of a run on the beach, then a little climb. Contents of cache are a bit damp (had no silica gel on me - could do with some)
quick drop in to see how the cache is fairing - suffice to say not that the container is not good - the side catches have finally given way after 5 years of regular visits - will try to replace it when I am up in 8 weeks time again with a more robust cache container.
Cache contents were ok at the time of the check

Easy find except when we got there we dropped our pen and as luck would have it there was not one in the cache. Had to walk back to the car to get a pen which we left in the cache. Left Diabetes Travel Bug.
Took my 3 year old nephew, a little scary trying to get this cache with him lol. Great place, beautiful view. Glad we cache so we can see these places while in New Zealand as I am from Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. TFTC
Been wanting to get to this cache for a while now & was hoping to get it a dead low tide to try & view the ship wreck but I'll have to return for that part of it . Discovered it with my partner Katt on the day of the big canterbury earthquake.

Last of the day, this tale had intrigued me from when I first read of it and it was good today to visit the site and understand how it could happen.

This was one of those caches that I was always going to get a round tuit for - finally found the time to stop instead of dashing past. Given the cache theme, it was ironic to see pretend battles at the paintball site nearby. The joy is that you can "pretend" these days. Back in June 1944 (anniversary soon), it was only too real, too sad and too painful for humanity - but unfortunately necessary. TFTC
Nice walk along the beach. First cache find of the day. Geo-mum waited at the bottom while the rest of team bjtrekker scrambled up the bank to the cache. Great views of the beach from up here. Thanks timgrin for the cache.
Easy find. Approached by the slope from the South.

Whoops, may have taken the wrong way in over private land, but sometimes a little civil disobedience gets you there faster A simply amazing area - thank you so much for bringing me here. Took lots of photos, and enjoyed the cache lots. TFTC.
A friend we were staying with were looking at a property on the road, so decided to race down the end and pick this up. A nice walk along the beach but we found a dead little penguin which was sad. TNLN Thanks.
