Came down to do the Bushrangers Bay walk, but when we saw the car park was BULGING, we had a change of mind (in true Tassie style we like to walk on deserted tracks!). Wandered down the road to this gorgeous little walk. Lots of blossom about and not a soul to be seen. Thanks piglet and DumberThanRocks - made an easy find of the cache. Noted the mystery hint but doubt Ill find enough caches in the series to use it.
Heading back towards Rosebud, I stopped at the handy carpark. A pleasant walk along the grass path to GZ. With a preconceived notion from the size attribute and the hint of what I was searching for, it took a little longer to find the small container. All in good dry condition. TFTC and for keeping this cache in play DumberThanRocks
Our 50th find Weve had a long break got back in the game today and were not disappointed. Weve been to this little picnic area many times before but never ventured down the track! We enjoyed the walk in and some side quests exploring the creek before finding our 50th Cache. We love that its a local one and stoked to be back in the game TFTC
The things we do to find a cache! First a huge buck roo who was not interested in letting us pass him on the track. Then after that stand off we encountered a snake on the track. Thankfully at gz the container was quickly found and log signed. We stood back enjoyed the scenery before running back to the car.
Came crashing down the hill at night, looked straight ahead to what looked like a drop off & the sound of water.... Looked to my right & there's a bridge & steps on a maintained walking track. Tftc, might come back in the daylight for a better look
I have been Geocaching for the last year as part of team Dromaniax. We have enjoyed the Geocaching caching around a lot of Victoria in that time. From our first trip up to the Murray River, the next trip to Lake Eildon and the area around Buxton, an epic trip to the Little Desert to attack the This is SA series, then a great trip with our father to the High Country in Victoria, a trip to the Mornington Peninsula and a trip to the Albury-Hume Reservoir area.
I finally decided to set up my own account and am claiming all the caches I have found as part of Dromaniax.
Thank you for this Traditional cache piglet and to DumberThanRocks for maintaining this cache

Due to unforeseen circumstances Mr Smokey Bear will no longer be a part of Team Smokey Bear and will continue his adventures as "SmokeyBearOG".
So I'm relogging all previous finds under my new account.
Unfortunately this log will not show the original logging date.
**Thanks to DumberThanRocks for this adventure, looking forward to many more.**

Such a nice hidden area were cache is, have got the clue now will have to find all others to get secret cache TFTC
Work arranged itself rather nicely this week giving me a period of six days off. I spent a bit of time working out which direction i wanted to head for caching fun and decided to have another go at Melbourne and the surrounding suburbs. I then took quite a while coming up with a list of caches to target, there are just so many possibilities! I packed, had accommodation sorted, and even had a muggle caching buddy lined up to do the driving. Perfect! Too perfect... . Plans changed at the last minute and i came down to the city solo and without the accommodation option. I wasnt sure if i would keep the rest of the plan or head for the hills instead.
Well i ended one day and im still here this morning, i have decided to persist with the plan for the time being. Time will tell if it stays that way.
A beautiful walk in to this one, and a nice simple hide. I had to double back to get the clue for the bonus, i bet i forget others when i continue the series.

In the area for work and thought I better get some geocaches while here. Time to fix some previous DNFs and then a few others in the area.
Parked in the same place, but thus time with it not after midnight I could see exactly where I had searched last time, but more importantly where I had not searched. As such, I went straight to where I hadn't searched and found the geocache very quickly in the first place I looked.
Thanks for the cache Piglet* and Dumber Than Rocks

PS. Only 1 more of this wonderful series left to find

Mr Dromaniax's and his muggle brother were off for a couple of days of camping and geocaching on the Mornington Peninsula.
After a great nights caching last night, getting back to camp around 1am, we decided to head off early and grab a few caches before muggle brother's appointment.
The ground on the Mornington is wet. Very wet. It seems that there has been sufficient rain this year that the ground is holding the maximum amount of water it can and when you have additional rain it either sits on the surface or starts moving down hill.
We parked in the wrong location , but soon found our way to the cache. After a little judicious weeding we were able to grab the cache.
The cache was a little wet so we dried it out. The logbook was dry.
Thank you for this Traditional cache piglet* and to DumberThanRocks for adopting and maintaining it.

What crazy things do we get up to with the Dirtbags and Team Smokey Bear? Caching at 9pm at night, to go do these set of caches all for the love of it! This was a heap of fun. Deciding to go for this one while we were in the area, seemed like a no-brainier. after a lovely stroll through the national park area, we arrived at GC quite quickly. Log book signed, we placed it back.
Wat a fun night! not one I am going to forget. The walk was amazing and the midnight clean air! Amazing. I wished upon a shooting star and sure enough, this appeared out of no where.

Our mission was to collect a couple of clues for this puzzle over a few weeks but as we know caching is contagious and completed to series in two days, enjoyed all the wonders that the peninsula has to offer this cache was a highlight as we walked along the fast flowing creek to to GZ, the banksias in flower were spectacular thanks for placing this cache

A previous DNF from about 5 years ago. I remember looking for ages at that time. Anyway today I found I was on the wrong track at first. I spotted the structure from a distance and finally got on the right path. At GZ a nice quick find. Cache all good and dry. Log signed clue gained and back safe as found.
Thanks DumberThanRocks

TFTC, down in the area for the event a Elephant Island.
After we made it back for the car, decided to pick up some caches along the way to get refreshments at flinders. A loverly walk on such a nice day, wary of snakes as others had see some on the walk to and from Elephant Island (another area). Took a few minutes to find the cache nice to sign the new logbook and pick up the unloved 277 days.

Today it was off to the Mornington Peninsula. After watching my niece at her swimming lessons (such a little fish now!), it was a 2hr dash down south to make it to the event and then explore numerous caches in the area.
After visiting flinders I stopped in to grab this cache. It took me a few moments to find this one. In the end it wasn’t that hard, but I just didn’t check properly!
Thanks DumberThanRocks for placing this gamepiece in the wild for us to find.

Nice wander in unexpected spot. Unexpected nice day too! A soggy ditto - needs help!
Out with Sorceysal for a few caches down on the Mornington Peninsula.
This was an easy cache compared to the last one.
Sadly the log is saturated though.
Thanks BB&N

A day out and about with Bogonghazy on the Mornington Peninsula.
Searched for some time and then eventually widened our search by about 20 metres. Log book is soaked but we didn't have anything to replace it with. Thanks BB & N for adopting this cache and keeping it going for us to find.

Took the day off work today. Traveled in my bubble (car) from home to a nicely isolated location. Bushmans Bay has been on the radar for a long time now, plus elephant island, although I expected to not be able to climb it with today's wet whether. Fortunately the time was not too bad , and the view was stunning! The weather started to turn and the rain came sideways, just to make the outing more of an adventure! Looking forward to getting back to the island and rock pools in the summer. Picked off quiet a few of the BB series, but not all. Around 8km covered.
The second stage of my outing was to tackle the Long Point Circuit series, another 6km to the stats. Couldn't find Long Point Circuit - Long Point, but managed to work out the co-ords without all the clues for the final cache.
Then headed to Cape Shank lighthouse along the board walk, dropped my phone off the side of the boardwalk, whoops....! Managed to retrieve it with some climbing and gymnastics! Then started to make my way home stopping in Hastings on the way through, finding and couple of cache along the way. Never used so mush sanitiser in one day, my hands are now bone dry! Covered around 20km today, over 1km in elevation and needless to stay did my steps for the day. Plenty of cuts and bruises too. Thanks for the fun CO's, its was a great day and beats work!

Arrived here just as Crank 1 and Pwala were leaving. Lucky for us as the cache was located some distance from where the GPS was taking us. Lovely walk around her but unfortunately, we don't have enough time to do the full circuit. Thanks for bringing us here with this cache.
Came here after CITO and Lunch events, Crank1 and I were here for 10 minutes - no luck. Then SteMicMitSar joined us, we were looking around for while - again no luck, he then went to other spot, yayyy he got the prize on his hand. We happily signed the log. Thanks for placing the cache.

*Cache find # 10736.*
Well this one as certainly been a task to find as I had been past this one a couple of times with no luck.
Today as I was down this way again for a couple of events, I decided to take another look, I arrived to find pwala and crank1 searching the area that I had been in before, they where also having no luck at finding this one.
As the maps show and as well as the GPS, the cache is placed on the top track but after turning the area upside down and still with no cache in hand, I moved to the bottom track near the bridge and had a look around and eventually I struck gold, the cache was found and it certainly isn’t on the top track as indicated by everything else but it was very well concealed in its hide on the high side of the track.
**Thanks to BorisB&Natasha (Adopted from piglet ) for placing this cache.**

Had to use the hint as the GPS was going to a hard to get position. A bit wet inside but all still good.
Mental note - download caches on to the phone before going caching. Had no information about this cache, just a location. GPS location seemed off so I gave up. Will return again soon.
Today, I was able to make the walk to this cache after completing another series nearby. It’s an unexpectedly pretty spot, when you turn around and look in the opposite direction to the cache! Thanks so much for bringing us here BorisB&Natasha
Another visit to the Mornington Peninsula to seek out specific caches this week, including finalising the Piglet series. A pretty area with a newly mowed track made for an easy walk to GZ. After rehiding the cache beckNmonts and I realised we had missed the running creek views below.
Thanks BorisB&Natasha for the cache .

Bunadoorian and myself enjoyed the walk in this reserve but we couldn't find this cache. We had a really long look but could not find it. With no reception on our phones we relied on the GPS.
Up for an early morning walk, I planned this one first. Looked in everywhere I could think of, getting wet in the process, but no luck. I'll be back!
Sadly DNF for this one today. Had a good search and found a likely spot as per hint. , but nothing. Will put a watch on this one.
The first piglet I couldn't find today. The obvious spot looks well searched and might not have the necessary stability to contain a cache.
However, nice spot to visit anyway.

Spent a bit of time searching, then tried the hint, which really didnt help. Found it in the end and are wondering if it has not been put back in its intended spot. Either way we enjoyed the lovely walk around the loop.
Thank you very much for placing a cache here B&N and keeping this series alive.

Today i had to go past my fathers house and pick up some of my old stuff to move them over to my mothers house, after doing this I had some time to kill before heading over to rovers tonight, To which knew what had to be done, there were caches in the area that needed to be found. So I thought hey lets head to Cape Schanck. Now this one was a little more troublesome than it should have been, after finding the track I needed I soon saw that it was 20m off the track, so I started the walk up the slope being marked by blackberry bushes and stepping in hidden holes to which upon arrival to gz I learnt that if I continued on the same track it would have taken me directly to the cache. Anyways thanks for the cache and the adventure.

Collecting clues and having wander Cache was exposed I spotted it walking up so I covered back up.
A long drive from Geelong and it was time for a day down the Peninsula.
I pulled up here expecting a bit of a bush bash from previous logs, however found a nice easy stroll to GZ.
Almost did bush bash to a tree - until something caught my eye! Think this is the first of these for me - Cheers!

Still full of butterfly like 11 years ago. Waiting for the fishes get Cook! Tftc;
This was the last cache I managed to find yesterday. I think I've found maybe half this series now, possibly more but I stopped collecting the clues, maybe because I'm not sure if I'll ever finish the series. Pulled over into the small gravel area right where the Rd bends around and a bit of a stroll down the slope. No data coverage meant I was virtually searching blind as the app wouldn't load the hint either. Followed the trails and checked all the likely places and then spotted something that didn't look right and there it was, not where I expected.
In good condition. TNLN and log signed and replaced carefully. Oh and a massive mob of kangaroos madly dashing across the hill above upon return to the car! Was quite a sight. Thanks for the find here.

A quick find in a nice location. We first thought that we'd found more leeches, but they were just seedpods. After the cache was found, a kangaroo crossed the road (he's no chicken, but why did he cross the road?)

Their is a right way to get this cache, climbing up a little creek covered in blackberrys, scrub roses is not the way!
Go the long way round, unless you are into the scared look.
Thanks for the hide.

Ha! Basically what Wombles of Woodlands said. I too will probably be revisiting some of this series in pursuit of misplaced clues. Oh well. But this is one I've never visited before, somewhat obviously. Mainly because I've never been this far down the peninsula since I started this geocaching business! This is quite a tricky placement here, and the geotrails suggest I'm far from the first to have been tricked. Initially thought there was a good chance the cache was missing. Then I realised my fatal navigational error. In the end the cache was very prominent in its resting place. I tried to make it a little less so on departing. Thanks again BorisB&Natasha!

Fabulous little hiding spot for the eagle eye! Lovely little spot and what an amazing little track!! Was a lucky one for us with a four leaf clover find!! TFTC
Out with Judith9799 caching in this area. Actually I had just found my 700th down on the beach. Since this was not far from where we had parked the car we decided to pick this one up on our travels. TFTC
I had come down to Cape Schanck to do some caching with mazza-g and to share in her achievement of finding her 700th cache. As this one was in the area we decided to go and retrieve it. Parking the car it was a short walk to GZ where the cleverly disguised cache was discovered with its natural camo. TFTC
Lovely nature walk and a lovely find. Picked up the coin and will give it some mileage within the next few weeks TFTC
found it. We solved the piglets puzzle without finding this one. Went to the old location a couple of times with no success. In the new location, When on the right track it was found quickly. Tftc
Find number 9 on our big day of caching, ended up on the wrong path and co-ordinates kept sending us into the bush. Walked around a bit and found the other path, found the right tree but couldn't find the hollow. Thought a rotting piece of wood was in the hollow in front of the cache and dug out quite a bit of rotted wood before someone had the bright idea to look up. Lucky we have a few small and light team members and the cache was finally in hand. Left a geocoin that is part of a family contest to see whose travels the longest distance in a year, everyone else has a two week head start for this one to catch up on. Getting very late and only one more number on the clockface to do to finish. Pretty much solved the mystery location as well, I think.
Ninth find of the day and after walking along the wrong track, we finally ended up on the right track. Luckily someone looked up at GZ or we may never have found it. Decide this was the place to leave Dastan the trackable. Even with only one more Piglet Puzzler to go and with a very good idea of the location of the 13th Mystery cache, time and tiredness was getting the better of most of the younger members of the team.
Found in the new location after several failures with the previous place. Can mark it 'found' at last.
Third cache of this evening. We have been coming to Flinders for years and this is the first time we we ventured this way. What a lovely area. Thank you for showing it to us
TFTC BB&N. It's a lovely sunny morning on the peninsular. Here for the day to catch some seaside breezes before heading home to the heat. And of course pick up some caches on the way. Jimmytherat with Noelle04.
Thanks this one was a bit tricky with no reception. But a persistent Jimmytherat eventually got a bead on it. Nice little walk.
Found after a long walk along the track. I just reached it on my tippy toes. Didn't have any swaps but took note of the clue in case we get to complete the series. A lovely bit of bush. Mostly I've been tearing through here on the motorbike taking advantage of the only bit of twisty road for miles. SL. Cheers!
This took us ages.....firstly we went down the wrong track!! But we did see a giant roo with a joey so that was fun:) Once we were on the right track we just seemed to look everywhere except the obvious TFTC
Out for a casual afternoon of geocaching on a Sunday. No targets or plans, just taking it as it comes.

Hunted in the daylight for a half hour, couldn't find it. Not even sure we had the right dead tree.

Long search through scrub at night not fun no cache to be found shall be back during daylight
After checking out of the motel and having a look at the shops in Dromana we headed off just letting the car GPS tell the next closest suitable cache (ie no big hill or tree climbs lol) We found a couple on the front beach and then headed inland and then to Flinders. We have never driven on a road through a Golf Course before. Very cool. Heading back to the front beach, another clock to tick off, we'll get there eventually

Using the suggested coords I found the cache quickly. Pretty random hiding place though. Cool spot to be shown however.

Found GZ, had a look with the listed coords and those supplied by others, but was driven back by thorny blackberries which prevented a thorough search.
