No luck for us today. Great view though

We had a really good look for this cache but found nothing. After looking for some time, we looked at the previous logs and saw that the previous searcher had recorded a problem with this cache. We think this one really needs a check by the CO to confirm whether it is still available. We note it has not been found in almost 11 months.

This geocacher reported that the cache might be missing.

01-Sep-18
This cache has been destroyed by cattle in the area. Found and collected the crushed container and contents that were scattered everywhere

Great view - from this spot and also at top of mount Macquarie. Quick find after several dnfs. Took first aid pouch, left spider for Halloween and camel to view all the water. Tftc.

Found it. Great hint.

The cache was out in the open so I rehide the cache in what I thought was the original spot.TFTC

Camped at the Carcoar dam for a couple of nights and collected a few smilies. Clear felling always looks like wartorn devastation but given a few months after replanting and all will be green again.
Thanks Scenic Routers

10923. Found during a slightly delayed two day Queens Birthday long weekend run up through the Cowra region.

With so many new caches up this way I headed off early this morning loaded up with many solved puzzles and also with a few Multis in my sights as well. About 2 and 1/2 hours after leaving Canberra I arrived in the area and started caching. This was the next one on my list, and I was happy to make a quick find. Signed, returned, and it was off to the next one.

Thanks Scenic Routers ! Forest? What Forest ?

The sun lit up the view dramatically. A favourite for bringing me here to see it. It did take me awhile to find the cache though, and when I did, my Garmin thought it was seven metres out.
It liked: S 33° 39.253 E 149° 10.400

My third day off an Easter camp caching holiday at Carcoar dam. Today I had gone towards Orange for a couple of power trails and the various caches along the way.
The logging had really ruined the area. Hopefully they restore the area.
Thanks for the cache.

07-Mar-15
The logging activity is down to the road, not sure if I didn't look in the right place or if the cache has been destroyed??

22-Feb-15
Bit of dirt track driving with Trodectus, quite a bit of logging in the area. Had to be selective of area for the cache, GPS was out a bit but eventually found it. TFTC

22-Feb-15
There had been some recent logging around GZ. TFTC

21-Jan-15
Great location overlooking the Carcoar Dam, the logging is in full swing. Passed a truck on the way in but would of been interesting if we met it close to GZ. Thanks Scenic_routers

What a fantastic place. If not for this cache would never have visited and seen the great view. Just on dusk and the trees in the valley glowed red. TFTC

This is why I cache the views are amazing, loved looking back over lake Rowland which I've found out it happens to be the water for Grenfell which about 100 Kms away and not one pump is used in getting it there quite a feat
As we were walking back to the car there was a ruckus up in the trees we looked up and there was a wedge tailed eagle hovering on the wind right above us, what a site and thanks so much for bring us here got a feeling il be back

Found it thankyou Smile, I appreciated the first aid kit as a touch. Great views and got absolutely soaked, watched the storm role in for 15 or so minutes. GPS trying to send me into the tress but the hint had me holding the cache. Very Happy lots of tree to walk up and some excellent places to hide a cache

Great location - enjoyed the cache and the views - thanks.

16-Oct-13
A perfect spot for a cache - safe parking, magnificent views and all the trees for our GPS to wander amongst. It loves trees and refuses to point to a cache when it can try to lead us into the forest. Thanks for the clue that made the GPS uncesessary.

15-Aug-13
A lovely view - an area I've not visited before. TFTC and the helpful hint

15-Aug-13
An interesting drive on previously untravelled (by us) roads. Although the GPS wandered the clue helped here. TFTC

15-Aug-13
Geocaching certainly takes you on some different roads! I had never been on the roads we had to take to get here, all in the name of the geocaching streak.
As we approached GZ, our GPS's all lost satellite reception, but luckily they picked it up again and, after a short search, and thanks to the clue, we made our find.
This was an interesting spot and has a lovely view of the dam and countryside that's looking magnificent at the moment.
TFTC and bring me here Scenic routers.

Reperio at 1620.

Heading from Newcastle down to Albury this weekend, I decided to take a slightly alternate route to find this one which hadn't been found in over 3 years...and a 2001 cache. With light slowly fading, I arrived at GZ to find a lovely little view, and the cache within spitting distance of the road. I almost couldn't believe no one has been out this way in so long being a drive by cache. I enjoyed the drive out here this evening.

Gratias Scenic routers.

This cache had not been found for a while but knowing it was a scenic routers cache I knew it would be ok.

Arrived at GZ and am pleased to say I found a cache in beautiful condition. Would explain why the Routers are number 1 on my finds by owner list.

Fantastic view, thanks for bringing me here.

yet another detour en-route to bathurst, and took a while to figure out what Rowlands was but became apparent when I scanned my GPS for the name of the nearby Lake/Dam.
thanks for the visit, I'll post a photo later..

Number hungry no,just hungry for a cache. How can you go past a cache when it jumps out at you on the road?
Beautiful view of the lake and this was a lovely pine forest. So quiet and peaceful.
We quickly located GZ and didn't need to search. the cache was lying out on the ground in plain sight. Still intact and with the ziplock in place albeit fine teeth marks abounded. Looked very much like some animal had dragged it from its hole, didn't like the taste of zip lock bags and left it exposed. OR thought "who added some furniture to my home" and quickly turfed it out with the trash.

We were touring the Central West for a couple of day's caching with our friend and caching partner Tronador. This one was on our way to our WRC target at the top of the hill. The problem oft is that with sometimes numbers hungry females like Lady Altaire & Tronador that one does not even have time to stop the car fully before they're out the door and off on the hunt. At least that's my excuse for staying in the car. They had this one in a flash - apparently it was out in the open.

30-Nov-08
found it! it was a nice view.. the geo-partner and l were searching around where the gps was telling us the gz was and nearly didn't come up with the goods.... until we turned around! There, with a catch of the eye... behold! the cache!!!

the coords seemed a bit off (possibly due to the combination overhead of clouds and forest) but we nailed it. We didn't have time to do the other one. But will venture back again sometime in the near future.

Signed log. Took bands and left first aid kit.

You were right, it is a good view (dams full as well) were happy to find this cache after failing to find the one on top of mount Macq. Driven past this cache many times but only recently realised it was there. Thankyou Scenic routers.

8:20pm
After passing once more through Neville, but not being able to buy a "I've been to Neville" T shirt due to the late hour, we pushed onto this one.

A farmer was wandering around the paddock to the south of this one with a spotlight, seemed to take a bit of interest in why we were stopped on the road and started to head in our direction.

Time to leave. Nearly at our destination, getting rather hungry by now.

Cheers

Well what can I say about my 900th find? I came here with Team Webguy but by the time we got here it was so dark and there was no view what so ever. Thnaks for the cache even if it was pitch black!!!!!

11-Jul-08
Having just been slipping and sliding about at the nearby cache up on top of the hill in the forest, we stopped here to have our lunch and admire the view of Lake Rowlands and, of course nab a cache.
We thought the view from here was very nice and well and truly worthy of a cache.
Thanks for bringing us here and showing us this spot.

05-May-08
luckly we did this before the other cache in the area! thanks guys.

With fading light and heavy cloud cover it took the Geokids about 15minutes to find the Cache. Youngest Geokid wanted to play with the dead fox nearby.
Swapped a few items before heading off to the next location.

Found it! Big Grin I couldn't find it yesterday due to the failing day light but found it first go today. It turns out that I have been chacing the same caches as Team Bloopy. I just beat them to a near by cache but they beat me to this one. It adds a whole new twist to the game when you know there is someone else to compete with Razz.
TFTC. Took key ring. Left pencil sharpener.

Took a bit of hunting for this one. The GPS was about 17m out which did not make it easy but the clue brought us to the right spot. Great view over the old dam and valley - was nice as the mist lifted and the scenery unveiled itself.

04-Mar-07
We really enjoyed this one, nice drive through the forest, great views and an easy find, thanks for the detour.

23-Feb-07
Excellent views. That reservoir seems to be either full or almost full. Also it's so so so GREEN out there at the moment. TNLNSL.

Took the long way round after visiting Carcoar for a find. Great views of the dam wall not much water in storage. Left an Angel Duck and bouncy ball took highlighters (2). Thanks

Chooo ooo my 1100th find! Also, my 10th of 63 on my Bathurst Bash caching weekend! Wasn’t sure where the GPS was taking me on this one, but all of a sudden the scenery changed. There was nice shade and scenery everywhere! At GZ the views were great. TNLN, thanks Scenic Routers for bringing me here.

Our GPS was still on holidays and didn't know if it was coming or going, so relied on clue and found it eventually. Thanks Scenic Routers for another great view and cache.

31-Dec-06
Thought we were on the wrong road so took a dirt road thinking it would link to a main road that would be close to the cache, instead we picked the dirt road that had the cache on it. Fantastic view from here, would be a great place for a house, except for the road. TFTC. TNLN. SL.

3rd for the morning whilst on my whirlwind tour. Another great spot, shame the container was only a small or else I would have dropped off TB Sad Great views. TNLNSL and thanks for the cache Smile

Nice view, crap road. Would have got there sooner except local map was missing a few roads, thanks Mr Rogers. Took clamp, left SES patch.

28-Aug-06
Beautiful view over Rowlands. Nice easy find.

Interesting place to visit and nice drive out to the cache. We had a few trys at the road until we found the correct one. There were some screwdrivers on top of the cache that wouldn't fit, so we took them and left some highlighters and a keyring. We also removed the cigarette lighter from the cache. TFTC
