Made a special mission to Rocky to grab the remaining Dooghan caches before they disappeared. This time the cache did not elude me despite the thick leaf litter, it was far more obvious this time after a hint from the owner. Will be sad to see this one go. Thanks for the great cache
Picked up trackable coin (will log it later tonight).

With the run of DNF's on the cache I thought I would have a look. All fine and GC still there.

Wasn't having a lot of success in rocky over the weekend. Having previously solved this, I was keen for a find but after much searching in leaf litter and dancing with green ants it was not to be.
Found with help from geowife. Had fun with puzzle. Took just over 1.5 hours. TNLNSL. TFTC.
Did a maintenance run and replaced the container and log book. Dam water kept getting into it. Now it shouldn't be a problem with the new container . Also dropped off GC.

We enjoyed the Botanic gardens and thought we had found the cache location only to disturb a brown snake. End of our adventure for today. If we happened to be in the right location, please be careful.

Been avoiding this one for a while, but I took a family visit to the zoo as the opportunity to tick this one off. We toured all over the zoo and gardens. I didn't have any batteries for the GPS so I checked the coords in google earth then headed off to the approx spot. After spending 10 mins searching and nearly giving up I found it in the obvious hindsight position. TFTC and the nice day out. Arrived/started at 10:45am and didn't leave until 2:00pm.
[Hah nice puzzle... Gathered answers or atleast a good 4mins.
Potential Spoilers Ahead]
I ended up on the outskirts of the Japanese gardens and was not able to find it however next time im in rocky ill have another look

Spend time getting the clues etc and thought I had coords, GPS jumping about too much to get a good fix under heavy storm clouds. Will come back next time.

Started the epic voyage with my son at 2.50pm on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Strolled around trying to get the clues in groups, ie zoo first. Found them all and headed back to the kiosk where my math genius son took over the calculations. After a few math corrections we headed off to what we thought was GZ. 5 minutes of looking and bingo - there it was! Time 4.30pm. What a great way to spend the afternoon. Great cache - a little damp though. TNLNSL TFTC
We have returned from Canada to discover a few more Australian caches! What a great way to explore the "land down under."
We don't usually have much luck with puzzle caches but this one looked like a math challenge we could handle so we decided to give it a try. After a wonderful walk around the zoo we got to GZ. Oh No... there was a gardener here, we had to be very discrete.... we sat on the grass & took a rest and every time his back was turned we'd get up and have a little look. Finally when he busied himself with a sprinkler we were able to have a good search and came up with the goods. We signed the log and had it back in place before he was done. Hurray!
This one gets a favourite for the clever puzzle.
Thanks for the fun %OwnerName!

What an epic. I made sure we had all the implements mentioned for a hard day: pen, paper, calculator, hat, water, coffee money, etc. It took us a little while to retrieve answers to all the questions, one was missing or we just couldn't find the relevant one, we found the bird, just no information, so back to the car, and google finished it off for us. A couple of hours well gone, on a hot day, movement is sluggish at the best of times. The description wasn't as easy to make sense of my GPS, so I checked the details of the coordinates on the computer. I then carefully wrote them down, before we headed back into the gardens. This set of calculations was admittedly overwhelming at first, luckily I read a couple of previous logs to trigger my memory of maths. By the time I had finished, my sense of humour was tested, but it returned at the right moment. Told the husband, if we find the cache, he gets a coffee and I get an icecream. We finally had the right coordinates and got the legs working again to what we thought was ground zero. It turned out our hard work was good and we had the true ground zero. A lot of puzzling about for a while, with the usual avoiding muggles, we almost gave up, while systematically searching. Then we found it! Three hours and 20 minutes from the time we started. By then, it was too late to get coffee and icecream. Thanks for the huge fun Dooghan
What the heck did I get myself into?!?! Took no less than 15 trips to gather all info from POIs. Logged several road kms! Trial and error with the math and a couple hours of map study only led to frustration and pouting. Finally... finally.... a moment of inspiration. Attempted and found all 3 stages on my last day in Rocky!! What a relief to add this one to my list of cachecomplishments!
What the heck were you thinking by posting such a crazy wild goose chase?!?! I would normally say "TFT[?]C" now... but what the heck good would it do?!?!?!?
Obtw: poured out half a liter of water from the container and did my best to dry contents. Afraid this one needs some TLC. Log was dry enough to sign and I did.

Interesting facts to gather, nice srtoll around the gardens on a very hot day. We drank 4 slushies while resting and working out the clues, just for fun!
An excellent puzzle, and not dissimilar to an exercise I give my students . With the solution in hand we walked to GZ, debating which side it might be before settling on what we hoped was the correct area. The arrival soon after of GhostGums and Mr Meccano confirmed it for us and we all searched companionably until The Marble spotted the well-hidden cache. After the requisite, we headed in for a better look around the gardens, enjoying what we could of it and marvelling at the enormous banyan trees before impending darkness forced us back to our car. TFTC, Dooghan! =^.^=
We had made our way to the area earlier in the day, and visited the chimps, but decided to leave it until later when it was cooler! Good thing too!
Arrived at the calculated GZ, to find La Kedi and the Marble already in attendance. There was about 10 mins of searching, deliberating before The Marble spotted the container. MrMeccano had the honour of retrieving it!
All signed and we were off.
Have to say the park here is very impressive and the cenotaph against the setting sun was a highlight![^]
Found with MrMeccano on the Caching in the Hamptons weekend.

Ran into ghost gums and began the search. Didn't take too long to find the cache. We finished off with a stroll through the part of the gardens and admired those enormous Banyan trees but with the sun on its way down and more caches up for grabs, we reluctantly headed back to the car. Thanks Dooghan
OK we did the rounds got the exercise, lost some sweat and then struggled with the mathematics. About then we finished reading the description. The only option left was to laugh and go and find the cache.
Thanks Dooghan
Thanks Dooghan
The cache is still in place and has not been muggled. As there has been a lot of changes to the zoo I have updated a number of questions.
Enjoy

Very much enjoyed the approach of this challenge, taken with the children, with the combination of things to search out. One or two elements were a bit too cryptic. We also suggest that maintenance is needed to verify that the clues are still correct as there have been some major changes to the environment since it was originally set out.
Location found, although the cache itself was missing - likely muggled. Our conclusion confirmed by another caching family who had completed it before us (the Phillies).
Time taken: 1 hour 18min.

Found with Ben & Lisa - a great afternoon geocaching with them. Dooghan is a master cache hider and we learned a lot this afternoon and enjoyed it immensly. It was several hours well spent. The bottom half of the zoo is under renovation and we couldn't get in, so the kangaroo question was googled and we hoped we got the right answer - and all worked out just fine.
Found with girl4god20. Started at 2:20, finished at 4:20. You are in trouble Dooghan. Took us ages to remember what pi was and how BODMAS works.
Thanks for the fun cache. TNSL left inappropriate key tag.

was wandering around gardens with rainforest cookie, eventually found it, perhaps should have had a coffee first with pen in hand. lesson learned, maybe...
after 1.5 hrs we found it Geokid was dissappointed that most of the zoo was being renovated
Our first find, had to work out how the GPS worked first then we were on the right track. We took the marble & left 10c TFTC
OK found it! Found it really easily, but I just used the Stage 3 co-ordinates and it was bang on.
Still beg's the question: What are all the questions and the Stage 1 and Stage 2 co-ordinates for?
Would someone mind just contacting me and let me know. I feel I have missed something here.
Thanks Dooghan for the cache...TNLNSLTSYB

Visited site this afternoon. Immediately on arrival I realised there was no way I was going to find this one today. I have never seen this place so busy in all my time here.
All the American soldiers were there and for some reason there were also heaps of Philippino's as well.
I am hoping I got all the answers correct, but I am now stuck as I do not understand what the three stages are, and how they are relevant to GZ.
Assuming I have the correct answers to the initial questions, where do they become relevant in finding GZ?
Thanks,
Glenn

We had postponed this cache because of the abundance of information in the description, but before we tried it we had a very interesting but cryptic conversation with a fellow geocacher which got us thinking...a lot. We found the cache in a very short time. It is one in which Jonathan Creek would delight. The cache container is damp. We took the Kangaroo TB which had been languishing for months and left a soldier. TFTC
We really enjoyed solving this one, which we did rather quickly. The walk to GZ and the wander around the area was enjoyable in the late afternoon.

Though we would give this one a try not that I like puzzle caches very much but I love hunting for the clues. On a very wet day we traiped all over the zoo and gardens, and found all but 4 of the answers so we couldn't have finished the cache anyway. But we had a glorious walk with very wet feet by the end of it and the park all to our selves (funny that). Thanks so much for bringing us here.
894.. After Two pleasant, enjoyable and Full Days at different times over the past twelve months out with the Granddaughter, Looking at the many features of this park, Taking notes, and asking many questions, carefully following the instructions on the cache sheet, etc we finally nabbed this one. Thanks Dooghan for a Verry "What the" family friendly Cache. Signed log 3pm..
Have to find a couple of new questions. Will be back online soon.

Been doing a bit of a maintenance run on my caches due to rain of late. A little bit of water in the cache. I've removed it for repair.

I collected almost all the clews but came to a dead end at the aviary. I spoke to a very nice older couple who said they remember the sign that had the meters of mesh on it. But, they confirm it is no longer there.
Tried doing this one today. Got all of the answers except for the how many metres of mesh was used in the aviary. The aviary is now off limits due to construction and you can't get near it. I'm assuming the information is on the sign inside the aviary? Tried to find someone to ask the question to, but couldn't find any staff.
Will have to try again when construction is complete.

This was easy. I remembered the lesson from my Army days. Took ...mins to find. TFTC
Two separate trips over a year. First trip interrupted by a storm, second nearly ended the same way. Loved the zoo (main reason for coming) and so glad you helped us to find it- never knew it was here. This trip took nearly two hours (very distracted by the animals) and maths would have been a lot quicker if I'd had the help I asked for to decipher the maths! Got it eventually though. Grrrr.

What a lark !! Loved this one. I've been putting it off all year as I thought it would take a long time to complete.Read the instructions last night and had a spare morning in Rocky today. Found the beast !! It took me .....Mins. TNLN and headed off to start Fitzroy River Crocs. Thanks for the valuable lesson.
Found at around 4:00pm whilst waiting for Ms. Deathrip having fun catching up with friends. This one took me about 3hrs & 20mins over two visits. Was able to obtain all the clues easy enough after 3 trips through the Zoo. Dooghan, you are a sick individual and thank you for such a great cache.
Took: Bag of shells and marbles
Left: Two keyrings
Thanks,

This one took us about 9 months. Most of the numbers were collected just before Xmas last year. Today we returned but took a punt on what the missing numbers were and came up trumps. Beware the ants nesting in the leaves of the nearby trees - they bite. TFTC and the wander around the gardens. No sign of the TB
In the book of LEDGIN'S. Found at 1310hrs. We had a wonderful time at the gardens with the geograndkids and geodaughter. The equations made the day. Found the cache easily. Took Spider. Left BMW keyring. TFTC.
Gotcha. Did this one today the lazy way. Signed the log and was out of there quick, didn't have time to check the goodies, mosquitoes the size of crows, and plenty of them.
TFTC.

Found at last. This cache has taken me about six months to find and I still needed some help. First time the wombats were missing so no date for them (they are back now). Second attempt the place was closed (closes at 4pm) so missed some clues[:(!]. Third time just could not find cache but I was in the right place. This time with some help (thanks S) was able to grab the booty.

Thankyou (at last)

Firstly we would like to thank the Dooghan family for encouraging us to do the tour of the wonderful areas of the Botanic gardens and zoo (even got to pat the friendly, baby wombat which gets taken home every night by the carers (it probably likes Home and Away)). And to Dooghan and the Bronze we'd like to thank you for the sophisticated lesson we learnt while mastering this cache TNLN
Great cache, relatively easy find when you put your mind to it. GPS took me exactly to it! very accurate...or lucky.
Travel Bug had already been lifted yesterday, has not been logged electronically yet but logged in the log book.
Took the 2 Geocoins,
Left a "made in Japan" keyring, a Sunglasses Lense Wipe, and a Crystal in the centre of a heart.
TFTC, the zoo was fantastic, hard to beleave it is free.

Wow this hunt was great.
The kids cheated & took their Rocky cousins with them.
We spent about 2 hours wandering around the park gathering clues. Then I sat down to do all the maths. Gee I'm glad I didn't get any of the clues wrong.
I would rate this find as the best cache we have done.
Thanks for the cache.

Cache 2 of 4 for the day. #1 daughter under the knife, or laser getting her tonsillectomy done as I found this one. We did the tour of the zoo, and in the end the calculations were extremely easy, as I enjoyed maths at school. Logic was another of the subjects I excelled at. But I can understand how people would become confused with the questions and their final applications to the task at hand.
Took IF's xmas stamp for an upcoming themed cache, and the gas gauge.

These gardens must be the highlight of Rocky. Well worth a look round. Seeing the electic parrots and the gouldian finches was a bonus too The koala exhibit is second to none (and free). Found the cache after some calculations whilst sitting at the cafe Did 'em in my 'ead I did [:o)]
Left xmas tree stamp.

What a place for a picnic! And the zoo is free! Found all the clues, this is a great way to find your way around all of the zoo, which seems to have multiple, non connected sections.
The cache was easy to locate in the end, with not too many people around.
Thanks for setting up such a fun and entertaining cache in a very relaxing part of Rocky.
best wishes,
Wal and Jonathan.

Joe Possum worked through and found this one yesterday. Hard but made even harder by making silly mistakes. Strict application of the rounding rules to all calculations gives a final GZ 130 metres from the Cache. Possum liked the cache location - good hiding place. TNLN. Thanks for the fun Dooghan and Family with the Bronze.
Found it
Great Cache Dooghan took awhile to find all the clues and awhile to do the maths and about two minutes to find the cache, But other than that it was great.

Man, this is one difficult cache.....spent several hours searching for the clues. This is the second hardest cache i have ever done (guess the hardest, Dooghan)!!! I say to the cachers undertaking this cache, don't give up......Dooghan never dissapoints (well, actually his caches were getting easier until now)
