TFTC. Cache and contents are in excellent condition. A cemetery that I havent visited for at least 30 years, but can still remember the Chinese tombstones.
After our trip to Petal Point and Mussleroe we headed back to Gladstone. We headed to the little General Store in town to get some essentials and the store owners told us all the major roads to St Helens were closed due to downed trees. We decided to see if we could make it to Weldborough and camp at the pub.I stopped for a couple of caches on the way and then we headed further along the road to the Myrtle Forest walk. The councils had been very busy clearing the roads of the downed trees. After we parked up at the pub we met a local who advised that the last big tree had just been cleared and the road was open beyond Weldborough. Absolute carnage with so much tree debris still on the road. This was my first stop on the journey. Its been interesting following all the Chinese history in this mining area. TFTC
Just exploring the area and checked to see if there is any local caches. And dada there is this one just near where Im standing. Nice one.
It was time for me to move a little further along the coast today, so I hitched up and followed the windy road through to my next destination making a few stops along the way to take in some views and grab a couple of caches.A very interesting read on the Tin Dragon trail. I liked the bit about even the ducks were getting bogged! I cant even start to imagine how hard those people worked and even harder for those that had left their homelands to hopefully make their fortune here before returning to their families.Cache was found quickly in good shape.TFTC jonno7264Keep smiling
Heading home after our trip away for the winter. Stopped nearby last night so we could grab a few around this area.Nice easy find but more difficult as there was a funeral being carried out. Retrieved and returned, undetected. Thanks for placing the cache and doing the maintenance needed, so we can find this cache.
Up from hobart looking for sapphires and thought we'd get a few geocaches on the way. Was a great little stop and enjoyed reading about the history of the area cheers!
Find 4391 on September 30, 2023 2:30 PMOur last day in Tassie on our Tassie geocaching adventure. Today we made the push to the boat from Bicheno to Devonport. Interesting place to visit. TFTC jonno7264
Found with dad on our way to Devonport for our trip back to the mainland TFTC
In Tassie for March, cutting a lap and finding a few caches along the way.
We come to see the oven. Great history
What a year Sandyofthesea and I have had. We kitted out the Prado and took off from Perth, Western Australia at the start of April 2022 to travel more of Australia using geocaching as a guide to see the sights. We started with the Nullabour, Eyre and York Peninsulas, the Riverlands, visited family in Victoria and then back in SA it got cold. Flinders and the Oodnadatta Track was amazing and we finally warmed up in Dalhousie Springs. The Alice beckoned and then a change of plan and we ended up tackling the Tanami Track to the Kimberley and Bungles Bungles. Territory Day in Darwin was unhinged - please try and do it! The Gulf, the coast and the car breaker ‘Old Tele Track’ to the top of Cape York. This is a must but it’s not easy! Eventually made it to Brisbane to get some fixes to the car….. let’s see where we end up.

Our lowest number of finds per day while holidaying in Tassy. Just 5 for today. Having dropped Mr O near the top of Atlas, I picked up the two Moorina caches on my way back to Derby. Quick find. TFTC.
Thanks for this cache....an interesting place to visit whilst on our trip over here. Log is a bit damp.
Beautiful Feb day, cruising through to Devonport tyfc . Lid came off, lucky I had some duct tape

This was a 'side stop' for AlbyDangles and myself between peaks one and two on *the great 3 Peaks caching escapade* in the NE.
We're on our way from Rattler Hill to Little Blue Lake along with stainless-steel-rat, gooseandegg and Tassie Trekkers.
A quick find, then a quick look at the nearby grave/monument.
Thanks jonno7264 for getting me to stop here, for the cache, and the adventure.
Cheers, EPs.

Out exploring the north east on a glorious day. Checked in on a number of caches
Have driven past the signs a number of times but thanks to the cache we stopped in and learnt a lot more about the local history.
Thanks for the hide, the book is almost full, on the last page now and a a little damp.

What a fascinating cemetery. Wonderful history. So many died so young, much like current times sadly. TFTC
Out doing some mountain biking in the area. Thought we would get some caches as well. Stopped by here and found the cache quickly. TFTC
Today we found chinawhere on our travels. We are on another visit from Melbourne just because…well, maybe it’s all those puzzles we solved during those many lockdowns! Having the opportunity to sign some actual logs is exciting!
Thanks jonno7264 for being part of our geocaching fun.

Following the dragon trail today, doing the caches along the way. Thank you good cache
Found with John4068 (kind of - he was my transport but he didn’t walk all the way to the cache - however, I couldn’t have done without him. On the way to St Helen’s, we are following the “Tin Dragon Trail” so it was good to find a geocache that matched this theme. Somewhere I read this place has enough rain to bog a duck (!) so true to form, it was raining lightly when I alighted from the car. And typically, I found myself with Birkenstocks on (again!) so I chose to walk barefoot rather than damage the cork of my shoes in the rain. And whilst I am rather a tenderfoot, I am glad I chose this option - because by the time I got back to the car, it was raining significantly more. And I got wetter than I wanted to get (yes, I’m a sook). Nearby Weldhill
Has an elevation of 373m and yet we’ve seen low lying clouds hanging around as we’ve driven through the districts.

We visited this spot a couple of years ago but never ventured into the cemetery before. An interesting location. TFTC!

Visiting from Townsville and continuing our anti-clockwise loop after a couple of days in Hobart. St Helens to Launceston today with stops at the Lavendar Farm and Hollybank Adventure centre.

Thought we'd have the cemetery to ourselves. Alas as we arrived we had another couple close to where we had to inspect. Tried an approach from the outside but fell a few meters short of GZ. So we swarmed the cemetery and headed to the chinese memorial for a read as the muggle couple left the scene. The cache was quickly retrieved there after. Cheers jonno7264 for placing this cache.
Down in the Apple Isle with JACS and TeamARF for a week or so to hunt some caches and traipse about having adventures. With inclement weather fading away we utilised today to grab some along dirt roads . Managed to find a few of differing varieties! A fun day despite the rainy patches! Fab puzzles and wonderful countryside. Awesome caches all round! We are thoroughly enjoying this adventure and grabbing some very well maintained oldies awesome locations Tftc
What a lovely cemetery. We payed our respects, read the information about the Chinese memorial before finding the cache. All is good here.
We are out and about exploring in the North East of Tasmania again today after staying in St Helens for the last two days. So much to see and do we are spoilt for choice. Of course our other aim for the day is to collect as many geocaches along the way as practical. Today we will reach an exciting milestone our 11000 cache and we are delighted to be finding it in Tassie.
This is our sixth cache of the day and well we certainly would not have visited here if it was not for geocaching. That is one of the main charms of geocaching taken us off the beaten track to great spots. The rhododendrons and camellias were in full flower which were just stunning . We had a pleasant stroll in the cemetery and soon had cache in hand. however we did find it out in the open so once logged we re-covered it in the most logical place. TFTC

A lovely sheltered spot here. A quick find and we were off into the gale force winds again. A nice break. TFTC.
Found it with ease and left same place just covered it up to keep weather off it.
Fascinating and unplanned stop - that’s freedom! All quiet with time to read the info before locating the treasure. TFTC
Found on the 28th Feb. Interesting history. we saw something similar at the previous cemetery we stopped at further up the road but it was in a bit of disrepair and we didn't know what it was so this was really interesting reading the plaque. Cache is in excellent dry condition.
Once again the locals were playing havoc with the coordinates but found it. Tftc
Another bit of interesting information about the Chinese miners who worked in this area. Thank you for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.
Slowly catching up on logging caches,
Today I went out with gridge98 to collect a few caches around the north east. A nice day out and great to clock up a few hours for my l2s

Pulled up and made the short walk through the cemetery, I saw lots of dead people. Cache is all good
Today JLrockstar needed to clock up some hours for his L2s before going into lockdown, what better way than to go along and get a few caches. Overall 7 hours driving completed and 7 finds for the day.

Clever name for this cache. We found the Chinese history very interesting.
The cache container was sitting out in the open. Hid it a bit better.
Thanks jonno7264

We found some very interesting history on the sign board at the entrance to the cemetary and also at the Chinese memorial. Thanks for bringing us here. TFTC
We pulled in here as we were intrigued by the sign on the road referring to a Tin Dragon Feature, and then we realised there was a cache here. A short stroll later and the log was signed.
Thanks for the cache.
On a short three day tour of north and northeast Tassie with Lil Rafa and the GeoGSP to tick off a few bucket list caches.
We stopped for this one after staying at Weldborough for the night on our way to Little Blue Lake.
Great information regarding the history of the area.
