Logs
Take your mozzie spray and maybe a new notepad and bag as the cache is water damaged but still there.
This was a nice cycle from the trailhead. The container isn't in good shape, and most of the log is soaked too. Thanks for bringing me to this great lookout, TFTC!
Cut across at elevation level but later I realised it would of been a far superior move to follow the trail from the top, sad state the lunchbox is in, nice views though, thanks for showing me this area
A nice casual walk in the bush, along a well defined trail. Went to the lookout first, and its not too overgrown. Wandered back to a point slighty higher than the pointer said the cache was, and made my way in from here. Only 30M off trail. In the name of minimal impact on this wonderful bushland, please dont follow the description with a 100M bush Bash. Not needed. Was at 7M when i started to climb down, and there it was. Still the origanal Lunchbox, with the cracked lid. Plenty of soggy logs in there, but one damp one i could write on. CO not playing anyore, by the looks, so that wont be fixed anytime soon. TFTC.
This one took a bit of bush bashing near GZ. Then on our way out we spotted the green container. How did we miss that? Thanks for the cache
Love this location. I’ve lived nearby for years and had never been up here. If you want a nice hike and gorgeous view this is the case. TFTC

Found it with BillHill531. Nice easy firetrail to walk there with little bit of bush bashing at the end.TFTC ParadoxGeo.
After taking the wrong track for a few hundred metres, I soon got back on the right track, got to GZ where an easy find was made. TFTC
A New Year’s Eve find. A last find for 2020. May 2021 be a better one than it’s predecessor. Best wishes to all who find this one. Lots of mossies. We read that log was drenched so have made another one in plastic bag with pencil. TftcP
wet one still there.
wet one still there.
Found pretty easierly . Great cache for the kids however log is deceased hahaha TFTC
Found with Mighty Minions on a day out and about. I got an exclusive invite to find some caches with Mighty Minions and no one turns that down, so off I went.
A nice walk out to this one. Decent views too!
Thanks for the walk and cache!

The final cache on a great day out caching with Tombi!, It was a pleasant walk along the track to the lookout which truly is spectacular . Then it was of to find the cache which was extremely easy to find, I saw it from virtually the lookout. I do apologise I accidently cracked the lid a little when opening it but unfortunately it has already been letting water in anyway as the contents were soggy, we signed a scrap of paper and returned as found. Thanks for the cache Paradox tnln replaced as found sl
Really cool and adventurous find. Unfortunately the contents are super wet and may need replacing. Might have to come back when updated to sign the logbook. Thanks for the hide though, had a blast, not a bad look out either %ud83d%udc4c
CO are off 10m north. Just wander around it stands out plan as day. Great view from lookout and interesting info about Strom. TFTC

It's about time that I cleared out the last of the remaining caches in the Hardys Bay/Killcare area. Having just completed a nearby multi, I ventured down a different branch of the trail. By this stage, it was really starting to heat up and the mozzies were absolutely relentless. Went bush as I approached GZ and found plenty of places to explore including one really cool overhang which ended up being home to another tribe of mozzies. Deciding to check some logs, I realised that the coords were a little off. Once I adjusted for this, it was a quick find. The container was half full of water which I tipped out. The papers inside the bag were dry although the damage to the main log book had already been done. Signed my name on a couple of bits of loose paper just to be sure. Unfortunately, I didn't spot the TB that was supposed to be in the cache.
Thanks to the efforts of Strom to allow us to enjoy these fantastic areas. Apart from the mozzies, it was a beautiful walk with flannel flowers in bloom everywhere.

Out today with the bushwalking club. I saw that this one was on our walk. I dashed out infront of the oldies and made a quick find of this cache. I then went and enjoyed the lookout TFTC
Great lookou, this area is so lovely to walk in. Cache was gound using good hint. TFTC
Walked to exact location and it was easy to find after looking around for a bit. Good for beginners.
Tftc, nice lookout and walk. Log book has quite a lot of water damage and could do with replacing (although dry when I found it), and container is empty on pens.
Caching around the area, this was the most difficult one in terms of coordinates. As there are several probable places, I insisted on following the GPS. After sometime, almost returning to the car with emptied hands, I decided to read the previous logs, which was kind of relief knowing that I still had the chance to find it. Finally found it about 10m north from the published coordinates, not sure what happens.
Great view, especially from the lookout! I walked something like 300m from where I parked, narrow path which leads to the main one.
Thanks ParadoxGeo, for placing the cache & for bringing me here
Cheers

Another sunny day to be out and about finding a few geocaches.
And after all of the rain yesterday the nearby multi was flowing quite well.
As I was very close by I wandered out to this one while I was in the area.
Great views.
Thanks for the cache.

Tricky enough find but git there in the end. Beautiful lookout. A worthy lookout and cache to celebrate a great guy. No pen in cache to sign. Tftc.
Dropped off the Bilbo Buggins TB which I found last weekend in an archived Geomonkeys' cache at Patonga where it had been sitting for the past eight years.
I think I went the wrong way but found it eventually. Either my GPS on phone isn't so accurate or the location is maybe 5-10m out. I was a little to the side and closer to the water when I tried to go back up and found the cache. Worth the effort.
Found with KanuckJay!

Thanks for the excuse to come to this wonderful spot!
Only one of the TB's was in there, I took it and left another trackable.
Also left a few little toys.

Embarking on our 3 Cache Sundee treasure hunt. PK Bear, Mighty Mouse & Armadillo warmed up walking the 900m down the bush track to Stroms lookout.
GZ was only a few meters off the track (no need for serious bushbashing) around the rocky outcrop.
After a short stint searching for bad guys with TB Sarge we decided that it was time to part ways and dropped him off in the cache ready for his next adventure.
A great start to our arvo of treasure hunting TFTC

We truly are blessed with some glorious viewpoints in this part of the world. The Strom Lookout is no exception, providing wonderful views on a sunny sring day over Hardys Bay and across the water towards Ettalong ... and once again, a place I would never have gone to had it not been for geocaching.
After taking in the views, I turned my attention to the cache and hit the bush ... I had to clamber down the rocks a little and even crawled through a rock tunnel that I thought would be its haven ... but it wasn't. Moving back up a little, I then saw the green lunchbox ... in plain view, just as the hint suggested it would be ... yep, in plain view coming up not going down ... I had pretty much stepped right over it on the way down!
Thanks ParadoxGeo for a pleasant walk and some great views, and for the cache and another smiley.

Once again took the hard way in and found a very easy way out! I can't believe I found this, as I stumbled upon it as I was just about to give up. No TB in sight. Thanks for the lovely walk and a great cache.
As done by most by the look of it, we drove around the water front looking for an entry point to climb to the cache, had a look at the satellite view and decided to attack it from another angle. Drove around and up to the trail head and made our way down the track. About half a Km down the trail the numbers were hardly moving and we took another look at the iPad to find we were actually on the wrong trail... Doh.
Back to the trail head and lets try the other one...!!! This time the numbers come down as they should and before long we headed off the trail toward GZ. I overshot the mark and turned around to see the GeoWife standing above the container without knowing it.
Returned to sign the log which could do with some more paper (sorry none on board today) and replaced as found while we still had some blood left, the mozzies were horrendous.
A pleasant walk back to the car.
Could I suggest the CO add parking waypoint so save some time and petrol for future cachers?

21/04/14. 8:54 AM. Cache #1479. Had two attempts at this one this morning. First attempt, after finding watch out; I drove along Hardys Bay Parade, looking for a way up from sea level to GZ. (street-directory.com.au shows a path that goes up to it, but all I saw were private driveways, so I gave up on that idea and then went to look for Goats! - another DNF).
So after giving up on Goats!, I decided to have another look for Strom to finish the morning on a find; this time starting from up the top and having no trouble getting to GZ. A very easy find - good to finish the morning with a smiley instead of a sad face. The lovely views from the lookout put a smile on my face too. What a commanding view! Not another soul up here. So, finished the morning with 5 finds and 4 DNFs (all annoying micros). TFTC }:)

Found 12:12 pm with geocacher from Belgium. We did a bit if bush bashing for this one in the rain. Then got back to the track. The Log Book really needs to be replaced it's just a stiff bit of cardboard.

Along with my new Australian geocache friend today some cache wanted
This was anything but an easy walk because we chose the wrong path but it was rewarded.
And find the way back down now but now we made the right choice.

As has been mentioned before the coordinates seem to be out.
However if I switch my Garmin from Geocaching profile to Recreational the coordinates are pretty much
on. I'm going to have to look into why there's a difference.

found dedicated to Strom after 10 minutes of looking.
A family of four Tawny Frogmouths watched while we searched and some Kookaburras laughed at our poor searching skills.
As has been mentioned before it looks like the coordinates are about 10 metres out.
Can this please be changed as as the coordinates stand it takes you out a bit too
far in my opinion.
Signed the temporary log.

A great walk up to here! I am glad I returned today for a little stroll with some new directions on how to get down here. What a beautiful veiw from here (I could see where a couple of my cachers were from up here), Thanks for bringing us here! TFTC!!!!
Took a little while to find as there are lots of potential hidey-holes in close proximity to GZ. The Google map is quite deceptive, as Strom's lookout is incorrectly marked and is in fact only about 50m from the cache. I'd recommend walking out to the lookout from Ward's Hill Road and starting your search from there. Thanks for the cache and for leading me to a spectacular location I might otherwise not have found.
The most picturesque area for a cache that I've found to date. Tftc! And thanks for making me aware of a special lookout and person ahead of his time.
As far as the cache itself, a new booklet is required.

Could not find the cache at the listed coords, so checked the logs., to find that the cache was around 10mtrs away. So headed to that rough area. Cache was soon found and we put a piece of paper in to be a temporary log, as we had not seen Yellowplease's log about needing a new log. Which it well and truely does as the old log is now stiff, and unable to open.

We went in the wrong way, up a very steep mountain goat track but we were successful - there were fantastic views from the wonderful location of the cache which helped us to remember this great man of such foresight who we were fortunate to have met in the 1980's - TFTC.
A lovely flat walk eventually took us to an incredible lookout. Terrific views.
Sat at GZ at first and ate some rice crackers then starting looking. Took us a lot longer than it should of.
GPS was saying the cache was 9m away.
Took 1 Geocoin and left a bear toy.

Great walk, about 900m as the sign says, not too muddy at all, but lots of branches down on the trail so wear good shoes. The views from the lookout are indeed some of the best on the Central Coast. ;):););)

sorry to break up the party and whack a dnf into a cache with no dnf's so far, but there were no clear instructions as to which street to enter on. walked about 800m on the track, and then turned gps on to find we where over a km away from gz. apalling really. not even a mention as to which street to park on. so walked almost all the way back to the street then foud that i was getting alot closer to it. got within 100 metres of the cache but steep sandstone terain lay ahead. normally i would quite enjoy this, but with all my previous searching i was fed up with this cache. turned around and went home.
Love the walk, the view & what's said about Strom: 'had a broad vision & deep concern about the cumulative effect of adverse small decisions'. TFTgreenC.

Reperio at 1230. You could almost be forgiven for driving past this lookout and not knowing it was even there. Was surprised to find a few cars parked at the trail head, and passed by a couple of walkers on the way to the cache, but luckily they were headed to the lookout. Ducked off to GZ first, and after a good search around, I finally spotted the cache a bit away where the coords had me looking. With the log book signed, I headed over to the lookout to take in the wonderful and relaxing views. Great spot.

Thanks for the really nice cache location. I attacked this from the bottom up. The bush and the hill were quite a challenge and then my gps/phone battery was pretty low. Managed to find cache and take some photos from the lookout just before battery died.
Took nothing but left a cable tie and a keno pencil. The pen is dead. The original log has been wet and now ruined (stuck together) and alternative mini logbook is a bit damp but ok.
