Replaced logbook... shame to see vandalism and arson have visited the area... quite a few Toi Toi bushes had been set light to...
Found easily enough with lots of people at the beach on Auckland Anniversary Weekend, nice day, nice hide, nice cache. The cache is in good condition.Logbooks full though, & it needs a new bag as well. Took M&M TB.
Pleasing find - nice little local spot of which I wasn't aware - will definately be returning here for a swim!

We payed a visit to the site to see how the cache was holding out. Cache still safe and dry but we managed to collect 2 full bags of fireworks remains from the site.
TFTH. This was a nice hike out to a place we wouldn't have seen if we weren't geocaching while on vacation from the States. Fun!
I have been meaning to do this one for awhile now, so it was good to get out here today. Nice views, nice cache!
Thanks!

Quiet little bay. Stayed a while until it started raining. Because we'd decided to look for the cache on our way back, we got soaked! lol
Added some goodies, took out some paperclips which we bended into funny shapes on our way back.
Our dog ended up really muddy and wet!

Nice easy walk. There were lots of muggles about and it was just as well Weemann and Lobs were along. It's much easier for kids to ferrit around when there are lots of muggles about. In: Navy Badge Out: Civil War Bullet TB TFTC
Logged in at 3 pm. Nice and easy walk and find. Walked down to beach and enjoyed watching the boats on upper harbour.

found @ 2:50pm, accompanied by my cousin and her 18 month old daughter. It was found that excellent fun can be had by walking along the logs. There were also plenty of friendly dogs about, although the first time you get a "hello kiss" from one can be a bit scary. Took matches (not a good thing to be left in caches), left some folding scissors, signed log. Thanks.
Placed TB 'Jakes Ring' (TBYQ56) in cache today, starting it's journey to southern England.... Cache in good condition....
Stunning views after a nice walk along a dirt road. Initially I had GPS problems and, once I had located the cache, I had problem with several groups of dog walkers. Fortunately there is no pain waiting them out with a view like this.
Lovely area, liked the track, the views and the bush. No problems finding the cache either - thanks!
A very good walk to a great place to write a note. No muggles hinder our time.

What a neat place! Had to take our time as a few muggles about. Obviously a very popular place for the locals with dogs. Easy find, thanks.

Ha - got the beast! Place was completely deserted this evening. There seems to have been a recent fire; close to but not involving the cache and its host. TNLNSL. Lovely spot - well worth last night's peregrinations
This ranks as my all-time most frustrating DNF. Not having a map, I didn't find the carpark on the first pass, and started off on foot on the wrong side of the park. After three or four hundred metres of semi-passable track I gave up and retreated, only to take a wrong turn and come out on the road a couple of kilometres away from the car. Trudged back in the afternoon sun. Set off in the car again, and this time found the correct carpark. An easy walk to ground zero, only to find a large party of muggles, doing nothing and going nowhere in a hurry, apparently convened for a tree-planting. After 10 minutes skulking and lurking they were no closer to actually doing anything, let alone leaving, so I gave up and seethed back to the car. Grrrgh.
Nice walk on a warm day and nobody else around which made it even better.
I fondly recall attending the odd party or 2 down on the beach as a teenager but in those days you could drive pretty well all the way there down a rutted clay track. This was fine as long as it didn't rain! Very pleasant cache. TNLN. Thanks

Read the logs and realised walking off the cliff was to be avoided.
Lots of people on the beach below, stinking hot day all over.

Great spot for a cache, bit nerve wracking at gz, as I could constantly here voices, they were busy on the beach though. Small search as I zeroed out 10m away, that improved to 8 as a signed log and 8m accuracy so who knows.

As with The Pud's visit, my GPSr wanted me to walk off the cliff too, and with 5m estimated error.
Log book needs a staple to hold the pages in, as it looks like the sort of notebook where the pages are designed to be able to be pulled out.
Damn nice view from the top, and very attractive water below. Almost went for a dip but decided against it in the end as I had nothing else to wear.

Paid a maintenance visit today... Fortefied the log book so as to tolerate the rigours of life in a cache... (The warranty only covers residence in the secondary compartment of a womans handbag and the budget didn't stretch to a new one...) Took another half dozen readings and worked them in to previous readings... coords now reflect the updated position.
Found this one before new co-ords were posted.Likewise GPS told to look 8 metres passed the cliff.Looks like there has been a party here recently.Shame the didn't clean up after themselves.Otherwise it is a great spot.

10.35am. Nice easy find although my GPSr pointed me over the cliff, but in saying that I could only get an EPE of 10m.
A nice stroll after brunch at the Refinery Cafe.
Fantastic view from out here.
Be careful with the log book as it's already starting to fall apart and the EYE ball it keeps jumping out.

Once again I was not quick enough for the FTF.
Sneeky BenMc beat me to it, but did not log his find here, yet.
That is O K as I have been guilty of the same sin, finding first, but not logging the FTF so other hopefulls rush in. I rechecked the cache description at 07:00 hrs and there were no logged finds.
As my car is in dock with the dreaded diesel drip (from the new fuel) I got my wife to drop me off at the carpark at 07:30 and had the cache in hand 15 minutes later. That was the easy part as I then had to walk the 7ms khome. Balmaiin road is one steep street! If there had not been the possibility of the FTF I would have waited, I think.:-}
Both my digitized maps show the cache as out in the harbour and even when on close approach the GPSr wanted me over the edge. So to speak. I found the cache about 10 metres east of the given co-ords (EPE 6 meters)
Be careful! I grabbed a stump while perched precariously on the cliff edge and a huge piece of bark peeled away, luckily slowly enough for me to transfer my weight to another hand hold.
Note:You do not need to mountaineer.

Saw this one on the web site last night so decided to try for a FTF, but only ended up with a 3rdTF instead. I was here at 0930 but NightOwl, sorry, Navigull was here earlier today (0740) but BenMc couldn't sleep being here before 9 pm last night. Well done BenMc.

You guys are good! I anticipated some quick responses as it was so close to home for many but was surprised to hear FTF was the same night as planting! well done... In response to Navigull's log entry, I am interested to hear others findings regarding location. I too had an EPE of 6m at the time of planting and averaged the logged coords from 6 readings that seemed to vary only slightly.
Found with BigFatRob at around 17:00, a hot day. Found the cache rather easily, only had to wait for 2 muggles walking along the track, nice views.
