Will finally put this one to bed as the starting sign either vanishes or is constantly taken in night pranks by the landing aliens.
Hmm….. I think we have a cache of Alien abduction. (Start scarey sci-fi music and pardon the pun)
The sign suggested at WP1 was not located despite extensive searching with our tin foil hats on.
Shortly after this attempt I had to change the batteries in my GPSr – the UFO’s must have sucked the power out them?
As for the missing WP1 sign - ”If you build it, they will come”
End log…Beam me up Scotty.
(Hazey1 and I tried a number of ideas and several possible GZ’s but no luck. If the co-ords refer to the sign closer to the house, the deduced GZ has no Cache either.)

Sign gone home......... Had a bit of search around for the sign; used a few different combinations from local numbers but didn't come up with the cache; we did find a big rock and tree but no place to hide cache.
Mmmm... Traveling with edmil we couldn't find this one today @ 13:10hrs
I think I'll come back again in the daytime of course to have another look for this one.

Slightly freaky spot, and I could imagine that lots of NYE drinkers might converge on this spot a few hours after we left in the hope of their own "close encounter".

At WP1 the sign was found laying on the ground, and could not be seen from the road. I have rested the sign back onto the fence to assist any future cachers. Great GZ..TFTC...SL....TNLN
I had already worked out the first part of this cache a while ago and was just waiting to come back to the area to finish it. Today I have the geokids and this is the last find for the day. At first we approached the GZ from the wrong side but soon got back on track and criss crossed a relatively small area searching. The iPhone appeared to be all over the place so I restarted the app and we were back on track. As I approached the GZ I could see the cache quite clearly. I don't think it should be exposed like this so I checked the hint and made sure it was in the right spot, which it was. Logged our visit and re-hid the cache. TNLN. TFTC. KeMS
found after i found the sign it has come off the fence and was face down on the grass

Fortunately, the Aliens had returned the cache since I was here last time. The buggers had made off with it last time!
Nice park, and interesting trees.
Thanks, Robmc.

I'm very much a UFO sceptic - I'm still waiting to see a doco on them that provides any evidence at all. They are perhaps an indication of the existence of decent magic mushrooms though. The cache is in quite an attractive spot and didn't take long to find. Thanks.

#4 of 30 on our "Out East Friday". Found at 11.25am.
Quickly gathered the clues at WP1 (sign was lying back down on the ground again!). Made our way to GZ by car, only to be questioned by the locals wondering what we'd lost. Told them that we were on a "scavenger hunt" and they left us alone as we disappeared through the hedge to quickly find the cache. TNLNSL. Thanks for the interesting history lesson!

It took me a little while to find the sign because it had blown over and was laying flat. Not knowing how long it had been like that I went to retrieve a stick to lift it just incase I was disturbing a brown snake's home. Fortunately it was all clear and the clues and cache were collected accordingly. I read a little on the history of this story, quite interesting, although being a skeptic I do question how much she had to drink that night.....
Thanks for the interesting visit.

Also dropped in Look Mum - no paper geocoin

5th of 18 finds for the day on a Narre Warren/Berwick/Frankston cache assault with my 3 yo geo-daughter. Found @ 1030 after obtaining the required info at the first WP. Cache was quickly in hand once we reached GZ. Certainly an interesting event that took place over 15 years ago!

One of a few I picked up in company with Swaggies today. They had a few newies they wanted to get in the area, which of course, I also got but I managed to grap one or two oldies that I've missed on past visits, this being one of those. Very interesting story but I'll reserve my judgement on what I think might have taken place. Found the cache easily and it was nicely stocked and hidden away. Swaggies grabbed a TB or two as well.
Many thanks farmers five. Hope you are still enjoying country life up North!

Last time we looked for this cache it was late at night, pitch black and somebody's overactive imagination was in overdrive. Thankfully this time it was a beautiful sunny day and no aliens (real or imaginary) were in sight.
The coordinates were spot on and the cache was soon in hand.
We took nothing but left Brum and Kokopelli Travel Bugs.
Thanks for beaming the cache back to earth.

New cache replaced and new hints updated. Thanks to Echo and Spice for their assistance.Hopefully the aliens wont make another return visit to examine and zoom off with the goods.

Heard reports of missing caches in the area and all signs pointed to alien abduction so we thought we would do a local cow count to check for alien experimentation.
Even with a huge building that seems to do medical things (and has a very weird name) just up the road from the start point, all livestock seemed quite contented. So onto GZ.
We know GZ very well! Echo is able to stand in the parent's front yard and almost hit the cache with a tennis ball. A very nice little park, and so it should be, Echo's dad helped plant the trees! And no, that doesn't make him an alien.... Just a retired gardener.
TNLNSL TFTC, find #409 for Echo & Spice.

checked on this cache the other week and it appears Aliens have abducted the cache, log book, the odd cow, a few sheep, 2 ducks, and a few farmers (5 I think).
Have aliens abducted this cache? Or did we get the clues wrong? We'll keep this on our watch list just in case it re-materialises.
Thanks anyway.
Thanks anyway.
The first waypoint wasn't any problem, can not say the same of GZ. We had a fairly reproducable position, but couldn't find the cache.
Maybe a shovel might help next time.
Thanks, Robmc.

Didnot find after a long search. GZ had me near a tree that had a very recent pile of mulch around it. Tried a little digging around, but no luck.

Had a NICE day today (Narre Interactive Caching Expedition). We saw the cache a mile away even without the help of aliens. The sign at the beginning is hanging on by only one attachment and may come away completely given a decent wind. TFTC farmers 5
2007-07-26 10:11 On a Narre Intrepid Caching Expedition (N.I.C.E.) day with Trunksnsuch. The Ailians were not very clever concelling this cache as I could see from 20 metres away! We did the paperwork and hid it a little better. Regards Crisp Image.
8th find of the day at 12:15am on our hit the eastern suburbs again expedition with our bikes accompanied by Feathertop. Didnt need to use the bikes on this cache as it was almost a drive by, I parked a bit dodgy but I knew I wouldnt be long.

For some reason I was expecting a plaque at the posted coords, not a sign. I certainly didn't feel out of the ordinary here or at GZ. However all went well and it was great to grab a cache or two out this way as I am rarely this far east. Thanks farmers
Found WP1, no problem (no sign of any recent landings). GZ has had a bit of garden maintainence done recently. Lets hope the cache is ok, but for me, it was a DNF.
Another find by Wabi-sabi, liked story, found another coin. Very hot today. TFTC

I think I vaguely remember this event - sort of! Anyway, the info was collected, and the cache found in its good caching hide without any problems. Took car, left lizard. thanks Farmers for another interesting subject and good hide. No strange flying objects were seen during the course of this exercise!
Found at 4:10pm after a short search. I hadn't heard of this incident before doing this cache. TN LN TFTC.

I remember when this one was first listed - it had a mistake in the coords, and I did a bit of Google searching to see if I could get the correct location (just for interest's sake). I was able to get the full story - and found it most intriguing, so I was pleased to be able to finally visit the actual site today. I was a bit put off when I approached the final GZ - I thought it might be private property, but it wasn't and the cache was an easy find .

Found in quiet spot in afternoon, box smelled a bit like the farmyard! Took giraffe and left pencil sharpner and a keyring. Enjoyed the encounter thanks farmers 5 - penndragon.

Very rainy day so the kids sat in the car and let us get wet! Left a plastic beetle and took a rubber lizard which now lives on the car dashboard.
An easy find by The Swaggies today. This time of the year is the best time for this cache. A great story though. We might chase up further info on the internet.

Found @ 16:20 Interesting story, one of a dozen or so that I have heard of this sort of thing happen out around these parts. Located the cache with ease as it was very exposed and could be spotted from about ten meters away. Dug a bigger deeper hole, planted cache and covered it up REAL GOOD!!!.
Funny but I had a feeling I was being watched from above and what was that strange buzzing, wrong time of year for beezzz.

While locating the necessary information board at the posted co-ordinates we also had a close encounter….with a white post, thankfully of the plastic kind! This is one really busy road at this time of day.
Not being completely sure about our calculations, we proceeded to our interpretation of GZ and to our relief we were on the ball.
We took a Suction Cup Dogs Head and left the usual Mondo Figurine.
Thanks Farmers 5.

We had heard about this flying saucer incident but had no idea it occurred here, we thought it was in Central Victoria. We will be spending a lot more time looking skyward whilst driving along this road now hoping to see one for ourselves. Hmmm. A tall tale indeed. Luckily for us there was no-one around, maybe they'd all be taken home by the ET's.
We found the cache not long after finding the best place to park (which is nowhere near the main road) and strolled across the grass to the cache.
A few pokes and peeks and the cache was ours.
Took cards, left balls and 2 TB's.
Left pen and zip lock bag as well as there was nothing to write with and we didn't want the log getting wet in the future. Hope you don't mind.
Thanks to the farmers 5 (again) for a fun cache although Gabrielle was somewhat skeptical at whole thing, but still believes in faeries.

After reading the interesting history of the spot, I gathered the required answers and headed out to GZ. Hmmm. Which one would it be? Luckily I was able to catch a glimpse of the container and the cache was mine. No exchange was made, but I did leave the ROT13 geocoin to continue its journey. Thanks for the story, and for the cache.
Found by edmil and maddie. We managed to get to this one quite easily or should I say in a roundabout way - sometimes I wonder about the follow road option. Anyway we soon had the cache in hand. Left TB "Please come home". other TNLN
Dear Farmers 5,
We found your cache today at 8:45pm as the final cache of twenty on the way home from our Mornington Peninsula Extravangaza X. The final cache was in almost exactly the same sort of spot that had given us trouble as the previous cache find but unlike that one, we spotted it in torchlight in exactly the first place we checked. Yay. Thanks for the cache. Sigh, I've always wanted to see a UFO .
Kind Regards,

Found by Mary & David at 1725. A short search soon revealed the cache. Watch out for the Smoke Bushes, though, the sap can be very sticky and irritating. TNLN. Our thanks to the farmers 5.
Found at 17:45 my fifth cache of seven for the day in the company of Dak Emu. Like Dak stated we had to decode the alien code, we could only see one local number so we figured it was the digit we needed and were soon at GZ some two hundred meters driving in reverse, I was sure the Aliens had taken over control of my car. The dogs did bark but no one came out to see what was going on. Thanks Farmers.
Fifth of six finds for the day in company with acts2youthgroup. It looks like those pesky aliens have been at work on the cache description! We had to translate the instructions into English before we could get past WP1. When it says 'second local phone number', it means 'second digit of local phone number'.
Once we figured that out, we headed of to GZ. We found the cache at 1745. Coords were spot on! [^] Thanks to the farmers 5 for the cache. I was fascinated by the UFO story; I had never heard of it before, but I'll be doing some further research into it.
IN: People's Friend mini note book (would make a good cache log book)

Just noting that the coordinates listed take you most of a kilometer away from a road which doesn't quite match the description and am wondering if they are correct...
Like teamkittens we too think the coordinates are incorrect.
However we also have a good idea where the right coordinates are and where the cache is.
Once we confirm this, and have the FTF we will advise.

We saw this one go on line last night and new straight away there was something a miss with it seeing that we had heard the story before.
Today armed with paper and pen Shelby started hunting down all the signs on fences to see which fitted a likly GZ. Having seen another sign she had to turn into a near by street and do a U turn and who should also do a U turn was pprass. He confirmed this was the right sign, we joined forces and headed to GZ and started searching, after a while it was decided to give Mr.Farmer a call to confirm we were in the right spot, we were and went back to searching and Shelby found it not long after.
It was great to catch up with pprass to look for the cache,
Thanks to Mr. Farmer for his help and Farmers 5 for the cache,
Regards Mr.Coffee and the "ET" Clan.

problems fixed, one number in south co-ord incorrect and now corrected .cache in tact -checked at 4 .00pm today, thanks.
Found at 3.00pm GAFF5. This turned out to be a bit of an adventure - again! Looked this one up on DAST and as noted by others, the starting location didn't match the cache description. So a call to the Farmer and it was determined that one of the South minutes should have been an 8 instead of a 6. With the correct co-ords I set off and when I arrived near the starting point, I noticed a familiar vehicle - it was Shelby from the Coffee clan! Thought she would be out and about after I called her other half for the Farmer's phone no. We joined forces and set off to search for the cache, which took us to a dead end street. We started looking, but after a few minutes a neighbour was alerted to our presence by their dog's incessant barking. We ignored them looking at us for a while and then one of them came over to ask if there was a problem. Shelby said something about taking survey data to which he just shook his head and then he asked again and I just basically repeated what Shelby said. Then he told us that he was wary of people in his area because someone had taken out all of the young trees along the street! I said that we wouldn't do that in the daytime and we would be back at night to rip them out. He laughed and left us. Right - back to caching. We weren't sure that we were looking in the right spot, because the neighbour said that the area that we were going to go into was not really public land. So after a few minutes we called the Farmer who confirmed that all was right. After a few more minutes of searching in the exact spot that the GPSr was indicating, Shelby found the buried cache. Whew! Took: Glitter, Left: Pluto head. Thanks Farmers for the adventure and Shelby for the fun time in an interesting situation.
