It's run its race and terrified generations, time for the ghost to go to the light
Searched the area, but sadly a DNF for us here today. [8)]
Seems awfully unusual that there has been no finds here for such a long time. Hopefully we were just caching blind today as we didnt want to trample the garden.
Thanks anyway Cheesy pigs

Woke early to meet up with the FelixIIs for the event on the mount. They were camped two van sites from us! We drove up together, dodging police and ambulance with flashing lights, fully expecting to find the mountain closed to traffic. Fortunately for us, despite the fog at the top, this was not to be. After meeting with the rest of the group at GZ, Mrs Dunmowin, Mrs FelixII and Goodlook - all interstaters, went back to the carpark, while Mr Dunmowin and Mr FelixII joined the rest for the walk across the mountain. . The boys reported snakes, stratched legs, freezing conditions, while the girls had the better end of the stick with coffee shops, foreshore walks and gentle, easy finds and a lot of laughs were encountered as they cached their way from Kingston to Sandy Bay .
This cache has not been found since February 2015. Three sets of eyes could not locate this cache today, perhaps it has been swallowed up in the landscaping and CO should take a look.

The Ghost Tour at the Shot Tower beckoned us but sadly, despite three pairs of eyes, we did not manage to find this cache. It has not had a find logged since February 2015, and I believe may well have been swallowed up in landscaping. Perhaps cheesy pigs should take a look.

We found this one during our camper-van holiday in Tasmania.
Thank you for the Cache and greetings from Germany.

Logbook very wet!!!
Last post was wrong found shot tower one easily with nothing inside but a very wet log book. The 'take a seat' one was not there
Prefect weather day, drive to south coast loop from sandy bay to south hobart via taroona, margate, kettering, small towns, huonville, ferntree for light caches with geomum.. Lovely view sea ocean, easy short walk to GZ, nice hide very well as no trouble...
Prefect weather day, drive to south coast loop from sandy bay to south hobart via taroona, margate, kettering, small towns, huonville, ferntree for light caches with geomum.. Lovely view sea ocean, easy short walk to GZ, wow long tall tower, nice hide very well as no trouble with new log in cache as another lognote so very wet... Thanks
there is a hole in the lid and the inside was soaked and muddy. Cleaned and dried it and added a single temp log sheet in a bag. Original wet logbook log still in its original bag
our first find of a dozen on a glorious spring day. No muggle tourists to worry about so we went to work. Taroonatribe were driving past so stopped to check our progress. Found cache ok but it was soaked inside so added new logsheet. TFTC
This one is in desperate need of attention. The container is broken and soaked through. I flicked the grubs out of the container but there is little more one can do to save the log. I took a photo of log instead of trying to sign it. It was a tad slimey!?!
Our GPS put us smack bang in the middle of the carpark. Luckily for us there were no muggles, but at 6pm there were also no arrows to lead the way.. But after a bit of search pattern Daisy came up with the goods. TFLC TNLN
Off on a shopping expedition in the area so decided to pick up a few caches to break up the day. Took a little bit of searching as GPS wanted us in the car park. Sorry that the cafe seemed to be unattended as a "Devonshire tea" would have been great.

Sometimes you can be lucky - parked right next to the cache. Loved the ghost. TFTC
Not sure how we missed it the first time, although GPS showed it in a different spot....TFTC!
Found this with Smiley_bear. Having a great evening caching. I really enjoyed this find. TFTC.
We're having fun doing a few night time caches. Wasn't sure how we'd go as there had been a couple of DNFs but ended up agree with Wilco as it wasn't too hard. It only took us a few minutes to find this one and that was with only one GPSr and one torch as everything else had run out of battery power. Lucky this one was the last for the evening. TFTC.
I'm surprised by all the DNF logs on this cache. The carpark was empty when I visited today and the cache was found without any difficulty.
Took a bit of time to find but found it in the end. TFTC

While my spouse did some shopping in the tower I was browsing the bush around GZ. No success.
The cycling touring duo from Jindy had another hunt around on our way northwards and were unable to locate the fiendish cache.
Had 5 sets of eyes looking - tried with torch and without - read and re-read the clues and the logs - but to no avail!
It's at the edge of the upper car park - the edge closer to the tower, about halfway along from memory. Low down in the shrubbery.
As mentioned by several other searchers, the co-ordinates had us in the middle of the car park. Maybe co-ordinates need updating? The clue was not helpful. There was lots of movement here today with the owners of the Shot Tower moving out and new people moving in. Disappointing cache.
Found at 8.00pm Had a look last night on our way back to Kingston - it was late and raining and the GPS said the middle of the carpark and the clue wasn't visible. As tonight was our last in the area we opted for the PAF option. Armed with extra information we went back - still no sign of any type of arrow clue but the PAF option gave us an idea where to concentrate our seach and Mrs80 quickly uncovered the cache. A reason to bring us back past this great icon of the past. TFTC
Time to have another go at this one and lucky. Though I'm sure I searched this spot before. Maybe it's just the geo eyes and hands getting better. One does feel very exposed though. thank you cheesy pigs.
I have trouble with these out in the open hides where the hint doesn't help.
I always get the feeling people are watching.

We had searched unsuccessfully for this cache some time ago. Recently we noticed a number of finds and that the area had been cleaned up. As we were heading that way today we decided to call in and try our luck again. Yes, the area has certainly had a substantial cleanup compared to our last visit. Within a minute the cache was in had as the coordinates were spoton. TFTC Cheesy pigs.
thought this one would have gone, but it was still there!
great spot, must try more in the city here!
thanks

Visiting from the UK with my brother, who visited the tower last time he was here four years ago. Took a few minutes to find, thanks for the hide
found with julesdireen found gz easily just a matter of locating cache took a few moments but found it
Hawkhunter42 parked right near this one but it still took us a bit of looking. Hint didn't seem to help much.
Arrived at GZ today and thought the cache may be gone. All the trees have been cut down from this garden bed and only the ivy left.
Had a look around and spied the cache. Woohoo! We can finally cross this one of our list.

Tower was closed and the sun had not yet set when we came to this one. Parked in just the right spot by accident & found it straight away. Took parachute (2nd today), left magnet & highlighter. TFTC.
Had a general look around the car park (the upper one) but no luck today. Will be back.
Interesting place. Bit pricey though for what it is. Thanks for the cache. Left parachute man. Might be cool to drop him from the top of the tower!
I also grabbed Squalid's pathtag. Thanks!

Thought we were 'shot', but managed to 'tower' over adversity.
GPS had us in the middle of the carpark, but with a widened search and bit of thought, there it was!

Well we didn't see a ghost in the tower, but I nearly turned into one after all those steps! (I won't give the number of steps away). Spectacular views from up here, and very interesting to learn about how the shot was made. We couldn't find the cache in the day time, so came back later and Mr S managed to get it. Didn't see any glowing arrows though. Great spot here, really enjoyed it - thanks for the cache.
Found the cache, but the glowing arrows remained illusive. TFTC!

It was back in Nov 2008 that I was here with JABs Kid 1 and missed this one. Was here and reading the cache details thinking that we would need to come back during the night but Geo Kid 2 in a way only kids can was ratting around and calls out I found it. Right at my feet. Thanks for bring us back here.

At last! Third attempt...
I had previously had the whole family here scouring the area with no luck.
This time, I had the little cyclists with me, and we searched for a few minutes before giving up and getting back in the car.
I started to drive, then parked again, said "back in a sec" and went over and picked it up.
The coords appear to be a bit out, but the cache is in a fairly sensible spot.
Thanks, CP!

Tried doing this one in the dark new years eve on the way home but no sucess with any arrows. Went back today in daylight and it was obvious. Ghost is still there.
Found on second attempt. Not sure why I couldn't find it last time as I went straight to it this time.
Found and logged at 10:10, I spent the day caching while in Tasmania helping my son build his house

Great late afternoon find with the kids, great location away from immediate muggles, thanks
no worries,
it might have taken way over 30 minutes of searching an incredible amounts of exposure to every being around..
but i found it and happily and with gratitude have signed the log..
Thank you what an adventure..

Oh MY GOD!!! HOW MUCH DID THAT GHOST (SPOOK) SCARE ME???? OOOOHH!!! Thanks; got it as my 703rd find on the way to the parents for more doctor's visits. Thanks for the fun over the weekend. Cheers OldSaint.
I was here doing the tourist thing so grabbed this after going up the top and having a look around.
Didn't see any ghosts today, but had an enjoyable time at the tower.

We were the only ones about during an early mrning visit. Didn't see any ghosts here but the price for a family to climb the tower scared the wits out of me. Many Thanks Cheesy Pigs.
Great old spot not many people know about. It's quite a strenuous walk to the top carrying a 10 month old baby, but we made it. Great views, though a bit of vertigo at the top. Took stick pin, left hair pin. Thanks.
Its actually 2 DNFs for us here. Late in the morning, just before arriving, the Nuvi 500 dies, leaving us without any cache notes, and only the CSx60 to cache with. The laptop was also back at the motel, so that option was out. I could see where others had searched, but we came up empty handed.
Back in the evening, with both the Nuvi working, sort of, and the laptop onboard, we still didnt do any good. Clues were no good, as we didnt see any.
An interesting location none the less.
Cheers
Bundy

Did this one during the day so the ghost didn't scare us. A fairly easy find. Thanks.
No luck today. The wooden fence seems to be coming apart (horizontal parts are on the ground). Without any hint, I had no chance to find this cache. But thanks for leading me here - I found a couple of interesting posters about shot towers in the souvenir shop, and discovered that I've been to two others on the list: One in Melbourne that has a geocache attached to it , and the other also in Melbourne, at Melbourne Central.
I am rather sorry that it has taken me so long to find this one as I had all the other preliminaries in this series gathered over nearly 4 years and could therefore have tackled the final.
As it was I was grateful to find it today as I have been muggled out of here before by the nosey neighbour so it was nice to put it to bed and during the daylight too as seems to be the norm with this find these days.
Thanks Cheesy Pigs.

This was the 16th cache of 27 finds (and 4 DNFs) for our 5 days here,
Found this cache at about 11.20pm, with allrounder making the find after a HUGE amount of searching... and almost resigning this one!
The cache was found in good order.
Loved the area that you brought us to and would like to take an inspection in daylight...
whcih would definitely be the best time to do this cache I think!
Thanks for the cache.

Our sixteenth find of a recent trip to Tassie with Fore! & allrounder to run the Cadbury Half-marathon. Spent the day at the casino out of the heat and then headed out to do some night caches around 9.30pm. Headed out to this one based on the recommendation to do it at night. Again, no point as the night arrows were absent and this would be an appropriate day cache. Really nasty GZ in that it could be anywhere at GZ with no hints. allrounder stumbled upon it just as we were about to give up, but considering the great locale asnd the high muggle value in daylight, I think the hide needs a hint or spome moiré structure. Still another dose of cool local history just the same. TNLN TFTC Fun
Found @ 11:20pm with Fore! and Shadow!
Again the arrows are long gone and it's probably an easier find in daylight. We'd nearly given up when something caught my eye, TFTC!!

After a few attemps, finally found. Not to tricky afterall. Really cant believe it took a few visits to find. A top team effort got us thru!
Finally found... Doh!! But Girl power being 'HazzaJ' drove us (me and 1 of the geokids) to find it. TFTC TN L 2 cents
This has been a troublesome cache. Finnaly found in an area you would think would be muggled long ago. TFTC
Arrived well after dark. GPS said it's in the middle of the carpark... looked for a fair while... yet nothing to report
As Geodyer said we could have done with a torch at this spooky place. But car headlights enabled the find. Off to final cache with the details found. Interesting place but too frightened to explore it in the dark ! Thanks for the night time cache.
After a short drive we arrived at Cache site number two and then realised that we should have brought a torch from the garage after all! G4CXQ swiftly repositioned our Geocar so that I could conduct the search using the headlights and this resulted in a relatively quick and painless find. We now had the co-ords needed for the final leg of our journey. I jumped back into the motor and we SHOT off quickly. TFTC (again!)
FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After 3 searches - how could I have been so dumb!!!! Had to ask Adman1's wife in the end and walked straight to it. Derrrrr!
Had a good luck in the obvious places and checked inside the hidy holes but no luck.
Found by GeoWife while kids were off chasing ghosts. TFTC. @nd Ghost Tour we found.
Had a good look with CatGirl in the dark, but my GPS was showing the middle of the carpark. That left a wide radius to search. Looked for about 15 minutes but to no avail. No ghostly arrows were to be found. I'll be back!!
Nice an' easy fin' at tha beginin' o' me bike ride. After meetin' a few complications, such as leavin' me spare batteries at 'ome, along wit' me cache notes! An' when me GPS carked itself on me...I searched tha place wit' nothin', I may as well've been a lan'lubberin' muggle! Fortunatly, gran'parents are only a phone call away!
Took a while, but I foun' 'im. I guess tha ghosts o' me batteries are there now.

TNLN TFTC Easy find during the daylight...unfortunately didnt see any ghosts maybe next time we might see casper.

Those tricky little ghosts played with us but in the end we outsmarted them. Many thanks for a spooky one.
The ghosts were playing havoc with the GPS and wanted me to be out in the parking lot, but I knew better than that. Searched among the logical places it could be but couldn't find it. Goblindust came along behind me and found it. Those darn ghosts must have put it back after I had searched there. Thanks!
18 months after my DNF I got it! Now I wonder if I still have the other info so that I can attempt Gwennie and the Madman??? As I said once before, it was a really great idea for a cache series, and really well executed. I'm just a wuss. The ghost here was a beauty. Thanks, Cheesy Pigs.
Found it today in daylight to avoid any possible ghosts! Good place to stop on our way down to Kingston for more caches!
