Wet grass after a fair bit of rain last night. Interesting site though, cache all good. TFTC
A grab on the way back down the road from a night at Woolshed creek - interesting bit of history here. Cheers
On a caching trip inland with Coconut3. We came up Woolshed Creek track entry and found this cache with a trackable on the way! Thanks, Bitsprayer. Gosh you get around!

We had a great day caching with JudeE and stopped here on our way home. We both picked up a trackable from this cache. Thanks for bringing us here and the cache Bitsprayer.
Found on our way back to Methven and Christchurch after a beautiful hike up to Woolshed Creek hut.
Nice and easy find. Thanks
Nice and easy find. Thanks
Relics of the coal mine on the other side of the road, wow! Really appreciated the classic Bitsprayer snaplock with a good hint, in a dry hide and an interesting spot. Thanks Bitsprayer! We've been suffering far too many inappropriate cache hides in the mid- Canterbury area these holidays.
A quick find on our way home after a great day's walking in the hills. TFTC.
Drove right past this one on the way in but stopped on the way back having found another mining related cache. Quick find thanks to the hint, SL, took photos and replaced! Last one in this region before heading north. TFTC!
Sadly our time in NZ is almost over, so on our way to Christchurch we decided to have a short walk around Mt Somers. Altough we do not have enough time left to do the two-day track, we walked along the Miners Track. To end the day we found this cache at the road side. TFTC.
A great cache, by some great artifacts - thanks heaps for bringing us here!
Dropped off a couple of TBs to resume their travels.

Earlyish morning heading in to the carpark for a family day walk - see how far towards the hut we can get. Cool historical wreckage here....nice one. Cheers.
Heading to Mt Somers for an overnight tramp so a quick stop here along the way. Nice easy find. TFTC
#15342. Some interesting bits of history (unfortunately whatever was on the sign is now also history). Took us a little while to locate the cache. TFTC.
After spending a couple of days exploring the area, it was time for StreetWalker and me to return to Christchurch.
We had unfinished business here, as we didn't have time to make this detour on Friday when we drove up to Mt Sunday. A bit chilly first thing, maybe it made us sluggish as the cache wasn't an instant find. Interesting area, pity the signboard is now devoid of information. TFTC.

My youngest son was doing The Woolshed Creek tramp with his friends. I provided the transport.
There was snow at the carpark. They set off and then I found my first geocache on this trip. An interesting spot. Lucky there was no traffic as there was no place to pull over properly.
Find out more about New Zealand's next big event [Oamaru Geofest](http://oamarugeofest2017.wixsite.com/geocachingevent) and come and join us.
Thanks. Bitsprayer for putting in the effort to hide this geocache. This was find 4966 for me.

On our way home after my two cachelet's first overnight tramp experience. I don't think I have killed them and we can start thinking about the next one. Nice quick find.
Thanks for the cache Bitsprayer.

Headed out for a wee afternoon drive up to the woolshed creek nature trail. A stunning day, and wonderful scenery. TFTC
Always interesting to ser these old relics. Took a few minutes to find the hint and bumped my head in the process. TFTC
Quick find on the way into Woolshed Creek to do a Sunday walk. Thanks for the cache.

Not much space to park as observed already on the way to carpark the previous day but somehow managed to pull up next to GZ without even blocking the road. Didn't matter much though because during the time I was looking for the cache and signing the log no cars passed by. Could've just parked **sassy** in the middle of the road!
Thanks for the cache!

Wow this is an oldy, but still in good shape. A pleasure to find!!! Thanks. We have never been up here before but we will return for the tramp.
A nice quick PnG on the way to the carpark Cheers.
West Coast or Geraldine for the weekend? No chains for the car so Geraldine it is.
Thanks to the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

Went out hiking for the long weekend - getting a bit big at 18 weeks, and unable to carry a normal tramping bag, so decided to go for an easier walk with hubby carrying his tramping bag with all our cooking gear, and me only carrying a small 30L pack.
Met up with mum here too, and celebrated her birthday along the walk! - They did it from the other end.
This was cache #1 on the way to the carpark.
Consec caching day # 1267

Nice easy find. lovely bird song from the bell birds in the car park. Showing off the High country to English Rellies , they loved it too. TFTC
We spent the night at the car park of Mount Somers. Of course we made the short stroll to a waterfall. Of course we searched for this cache. Thanks a lot for the cache.
Found after a great weekend tramping in the Mt Somers area. We had snow at the hut which made the weekend extra special. I had some first time trampers with me who loved it. Thanks for putting an extra cache here from when I was here last.
Great found five others walking over the Mt Somers Track and this one on the way back for a pie after we finished. Thanks
TFTC SL Left swaps. Lovely dry hide for this cache. Working at home today & thinking "where can I go next ?" So on line I go & bingo !! Saw this one that I hadn't done. So off I go for a wee drive on a lovely sunny day !!! Thanks Bitsprayer again for another great cache.
Found while out tramping with my partner's Scout Troop. I came here with my own Scout Group ages ago, and never bothered to look up caches in the area. The hut log book put me right on THAT one!
Found on the way out of a tramp up to Woolshed Creek Hut. Was a great weekend! Love all the heritage in this area. Took Geocoin.
A quick find on way to Christchurch after a great 10 days in the Canterbury region fishing. Mt Somers is a beautiful place. TNLN TFTC SL
Took a bit of scrambling around by Flynnsworth came up with the goods (though I reckon he did it the hard way.) Many thanks again Bitsprayer.
Stunning day in the hills, found on the way to the Blackburn coal mine. Thanks for getting me out there and for the cache
Have drive past this many a time but never new a cache was here. Easy find. However I lost a travel bug in the area so if found post a message to the bugs page.

Queen's Birthday Monday, a lovely day. We drove to the end of the road to turn (and, lo - there was a toilet!).
Another interesting Bitsprayer cache bringing me to a place I hadn't ventured near before. TFTC - now I'm tempted to try the walks and get a few more.

About to walk an overnight walk into Woolshed Creek Hut with The Lost Scout so we had to stop here. Dropped off a travel bug.
Found while driving out from doing an excellent day walk circuit on the slopes of Mt Somers. Thanks for inviting us to stop and read the interesting history here.
Was next on our to find list and nearly drove past on the way out! Fortunately the brain was in gear at the time. Easy find for Ravakin Jnr. TFTC!
Well this is the first one for day with the nuvi 3760T, who said you can't geocache with a nuvi, we weren't going anywhere today so we weren't prepared, we had it marked as POI so we tried. knocked off 5 for the day with the nuvi.
Doing a Caching Trip with six of us from CH.CH.A quick find on a nice day up here.TFTC.
Didn't take the team long at all to find this one. One of the few drivebys we did this trip. Nice old rusted relics! Cheers Gav [7429]
Driven pass here many times . Never knew this area existed. Interesting place with lot of history. Thanks for bringing me here.
Nice easy find up another new road. Geocaching sure gets us to new places. Love to get off the beaten track. Left a little cow. SL. TFTC.
Have gone past this cache several times and been unable to stop to find it. However with a tramping trip being changed and ending out being a camping trip at the car park down the road I went for an evening walk to get the cache. TFTC TNLN
We'd planned on going to the end of the road to do one of the walks, but when we saw the broome invasion we thought the scenery had been spoiled a bit so went back. Stopped by the cache anyways, took a bit of searching as we were looking in the wrong structures. Rescued TB that had been stuck in there for over 4 months! Left pinball game. Cache is dry and healthy.
Good location - shame I had time shortage as would have liked to done a couple of walks close by, found after a short search. SL -GC left TB TFTC
Found and placed two Geocoins taht I have held on for a bit long. Great place, we did the overnight tramp and it was well recommended. Thanks
Found quickley before we departed for Woolshed Creek hut.
The possum is well gone apart from some skin & bone, must have been one of those biodegradable ones.

Not an easy place for a motorhome to stop but we managed! Easy find at an interesting site.
We can confirm there are still remnants of fur and bones from the dead possum, but they're no longer a problem. An easy find at an interesting location on a cold frosty morning. TFTC
Hmmm either the body has been moved or I'm relieved I didn't look to see where I was reaching (and didn't read the previous logs). An easy find and quickly signed by Bo & I. The stop DID let a lot of bugs into the car, but nice to get another find.

A nice easy find while on the way home from a tramping wekend.. TFTC. Cheers Bo
Well I found it, but I didn't sign the log
A opossum seems to have died lying right up against the cache box!? He's on his way to being half-decomposed now and really I just didn't want to touch him to get to the box [xx(]
