A good spot to watch the aircraft while eating.
Finding the cache didn't take too long.
Thanks for the cache.
Finding the cache didn't take too long.
Thanks for the cache.
Looked for an hour - coordinates about 10 feet from fence; filthy dirty place - turned up lots of dangerous broken glass, even searched in and around decomposing lamb and garbage. How about a better site with less bacteria?
Daughter and I looked around for about 30 minutes but did not find cache. Not a particularly nice location, lots of broken glass and a decomposing lamb.
You did find where the cache was. I regularly visit and usually check to see if the cache is still there. A couple of weeks ago I noticed that the grass was a lot shorter than when I originally found the cache (but that the cache was still there). Last couple of times I have visited the cache has been missing.
Pretty sure we found where the cache should have been, there was an indent in the grass of what looked liked was a square container. No sign of the cache. There is also a dead lamb very close.
Easiest find of the day. Had a day of tough finds with kids getting grumpy. Left Sellotape, toy car and monkey. Took keyring, smiley face and purse.
After easy find, had to enter hostage negotiations with Jnr B as he was clutching fence while muttering must get closer .. must get closer .. he just loves those planes! An excellent place for a cache, pity about the broken glass & other debris making this a bit of a Jnr hazard. No sign of the TB that is listed as being in this cache.
I think this Cache was my closest find to my car, a nice easy find and a cool spot, thanks for the Cache.

A little bit of a detour on the way home from the geocoinfest in Ashburton gave us one more easy find for the day. Discovered TB, left nothing.
On the third go, I got to pick this one up. Unfortunately i didn't have all my caching gear, but looked in the most obvious place and there it was! A popular spot for plane spotting troublesome for cachers trying to get in!

Nice easy find on a pleasant winter day. No muggles so it was quick work. Dropped off a couple travel bugs, one of which has a time sensitive goal to get to Europe ASAP so I hope we've got some airport watchers out there! TFTC.
Easy find after droping off friends at the airport with rebeckingham palace

Found on the way to the airport to go back home, TFTC Picked up a TB to take home.
NZ trip cache #106
Nice easy hide, no one around, planes weren't using this runway today when we were here.

Sat in the car eating my lunch watching the planes. Then when everyone had gone we got out to find the cache.
47. Muggles again but this time we had time on our hands. Gave the boys some food for lunch so they were happy to wait, watched planes, ate and waited. Yes they have gone, ran out the car easy find lets hope no one comes now before we get it back!
Not much in the cache so we left a Unite for Diabetes TB for someone else to discover.

Muggles, again. Got out took some photos but not enough time to wait for them to move we had a plane to catch.
Nice One!!!!!!! Great long weekend of Super 14, shopping and geocaching. Easy find, no touchdowns but a couple of opposites. +Dice -Toyman Thanks
Last cache of the day and a 5 day SI trip. Got here at 7:45pm and my plane was scheduled to depart at 8:25pm so good thing it was an easy find. Would of had a good view of the plane I missed though
Great spot, many thanks.
Great spot, many thanks.
Found on a dark and stormy night so no muggle problems. Lots of litter laying around. With all the paranoia about airport security I was wondering whether poking around in the dark, with a torch, on the perimeter of an international airport was really all that clever! So completed the formalities and legged it before I was arrested.
I found this one today with my daughter ,I use to come out this way in my earlier days lol, A quick cache find cheers
[This was an easy one for me as I am training] to be a pilot at the International Aviation Academy of NZ[ just around the corner. Made sure I headed home during a lull in the "traffic" so no muggles.

I had ridden my bicycle all the way out here and there, right in front of me was the cache. I was standing but a foot away and I could see the pale color of the containers lid from its hiding place. However, only a meter behind me was a car with four teenage boys sitting in it and I was in plain sight. I waited for a while but came to the realization that unless they left or unless something happened to distract them, I wasn’t going to get the cache. I considered trying my James Bond skills to stealthily recover the cache, but then I remembered that the only skill that Bond and I share is that I can drink a martini. I just couldn’t retrieve the cache in good conscience, knowing that my find would result in a muggling. Ugg. So, I left the cache for another day. At least I got some exercise and the next time I look for this cache, I won't need to bring my GPS.
I've stopped off here many times before on the bike; only just found out there was a cache here. An easy find.
nice spot for airplanes fans

Found this cache which was the first find on new GPS (christmas present). Pity didn't have maps loaded as we would have known quite which road to take. Dropped of Travel bug For Nana and Pops. Forgot to record the trackable number off this T/bug so have to contact owner so that I can log this visit. Swaps logged at cache site.
My second visit to this cache. The first time I called there was an extremely scantily-clad young lady there, sunbathing. I think there may have been a bloke with her in which case it was probably more than sunbathing. I can't tell the difference! Being the gentleman I am, I discretely did a 180 to return another day this time with more success. I was the second person to visit this site today.
A well-planted cache.
A well-planted cache.
Saw a US AirForce C-130 Hercules lift off for the Ice while waiting for muggles to move on - unfortunately he appears to be dozing in his car, and waking when planes take off. Waited for a long gap between planes and grabbed the cache while he dozed, signed log and put back after a few more take-offs. Took TB Eastbound Pigeon. Thanks.
The 5th time I've driven past here and the first without a muggle parked up. Easy find and got too see the fire engine fleet racing away to something. TNLN Thanks.

Dropped one KiwiHarv at airport, bagged this cache, watched planes land and take-off, then visited Orana Wildlife Park. A good morning. Took: TB Koalas, apple ornament, balloon. Left: rubber stamp, lightbulb. Cheers.

Great cache, thanks. Introduced me to an area of Chch i didn't know, so that's great. Mothy
One of a few we found while on holiday in Christchurch. Had to quickly discard gross objectionable contents before our daughters got their hands on it. Dirty muggles had found it and defiled it, even left an obscene log, mongrels.
Anyway was a great spot for the girls plane spotting. They loved it. Cheers,

Easy find using hint. Not many touchdowns today and even if there were you couldn't have seen them through the rain and fog!! TNLN Thanks
8:50pm. #13 of day 2 of our week in Chch (total 45 so far). Easy find in a cool spot. No cars near the cache but lots parked up (presumably looking at the pretty lights?) down the road parallel to the runway.
Quick find, suprisingly there were no cars down here. Dropped off the patch bug for further travels. Bit of glass around the road at the end. No exchange. Cheers Gav [871]
9:23 am - Cache 1 of 11 for today. First one ever for our UK teenage friends. TNLN. TFTC.
Definitely a popular spot for plane spotting... oh well, get out of car and hang over fence, and eventually they move on. Easy find. Well stocked, tidy cache. Thanks
Dropped in to get this one on my way up to "Ashley views".
