#844Was in an unexpected hiding place. Got caught by bush lawyer as I was trying to access the cache but it was well worth it. Always a pleasure to find ones that have been around for a long time!
We are here on a short break from Australia with Wilbert67. This is one of the caches we found on the trip and we thank you for showing us this place. TFTC
First day caching in New Zealand. Parkrun first , straight of the plane last night. Quick and easy finds so far.TFTC Wilbert67
It took me longer than expected to get on the right set of minds to find this one. Interesting hidden piece of history. TFTC
We pulled up with Matagouri's little bumble bee friend nestled snuggly on his lap. A slight panic when we realized he'd disappeared ftom sight, but he turned up again just slightly further around, so with a tear in his eye, matagouri found him a nice pozzie on a bush and he bade him farewell. Goodbye little 'Sting' - yes, he had named him! What an interesting little spot, we would not have known about but for this cache. Thanks for putting this cache here.
The Great Geocaching Grand Tour of New Zealand Cemeteries rolls on. Out with rattll today, focusing on the Crayola series, but also picking up extra caches where we could. This was one of those. We nearly missed the carpark, distracted as we were by a bumblebee that had come in through the car window. At GZ, a brief search before rattll made the find. All good, nice to get an older cache. Tftc!
After years on our bucket list and three cancellations due to Covid, we are thrilled to finally be here. Following several cruises we flew from Sydney, Australia to Wellington, New Zealand to begin our next adventure. Picked up our rental vehicle and will be driving, exploring, hiking, and caching both islands for 3.5 weeks. We tried to stop for this cache yesterday, but the parking lot was full of vehicles. Since it wasn't too far from our Airbnb we came back first thing this morning. Not a muggle in sight as we located the container, added our ink to the log, and reflected on the monument here. Thanks for adding to our adventure today, Nukeworker and Racquetball Girl, Arkansas, USA
#13,741. I have a full day available to geocache in Auckland. Yay. Decided to wrap up the Crayola geoart series and pick up the southernmost Auckland cache as my two priorities today. Any other cache in the general area close to where I was driving would be checked out as well. I had a fun day exploring an area I have not been to much before (Waiuku). Ended up with about 40 finds. What an interesting cemetery. Certainly would have missed this one without the cache. And great its a cache from 2006. Always enjoy finding ones from the 2000's. Took a bit of thinking to work out where it might be hidden but once in the right spot it was all doing OK. Thanks cj.trex for hiding this one here.
Found w mrpretty! Had a health day off and took the boat out for a bit. Thank you for the adventure. Really old hide too.tftc
What a lovely cemetery! I was overthinking the approach her, but got there at the end. TFTC!!
Cool spot tucked away here and a nice easy find thanks to clues in comments and a geotrail (for trolls )

Wow what a hidden gem for a location! Took a little hunting around bit got there in the end! Watch out for the thorns!!
Tftf was a fun. Wish I had brought the geokids with me for this one though. Lots of wasps hanging around so beware
NZ MEGA 2020 (in 2022) road trip - Day 7
Having had a fantastic day on Browns Island on Sunday, another member of Team Done by 1 (RustyNZ) and I arranged to go looking for the Crayola 64 series. Having completed it by mid-afternoon, we decided that neither of us fancied battling peak hour traffic so would do some more caching around this area.
This was one of the small number of caches that R had done previously, so she remained in the car whilst I nipped off to look for this one. I had found it and was signing the log when she appeared nearby, obviously wondering if I had indeed found it lol!
All good here. The container and log are in great condition, and then we were back off on what would end up being a really long, but worthwhile day. I had my best single day ever with over 100 finds
Thanks for placing this series of caches.

It's my Mega weekend road trip! This is day two, a bulk find day, attempting to complete the Crayola 64. Will expand on my logs, post photos, qualifying caches for challenges, etc. When I get home. TFTC
Bit of a scramble to get the cache but the coordinates were bang on!

A nice quick find thanks. We put in some waterproof paper as the rest was a bit damp.
Time for another trip to the North Island for Ms_KR and me. Wellington and beyond here we come. Today we toured around Waiuku area and found some new spots to us. It is a hot summer so far!
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

History is written by those who win. Ko wai ngā ingoa o te wi kāinga. Gave it some waterproof paper. Tftc
Day out with Keylev and this was the last of the day. Dove under the bridge and Keylev found what she thought was the cache is a plastic bag. I unraveled it and indeed it was. Logs were soaked but signed and attached it back to best location. Tftc
B4Dawn and I had made plans to adventure in the general Awhitu area to walk and clear out some caches but then the rain set in....ah we don't mind that lets go anyway...just pack the waterproof clothes and jackets!! There were periods it was quite clear and others with really bad wind and rain that made us question what the hell we were doing out but as always it was an adventure and of course some smiley faces to be had.
Parked up and found this cool little hidden gem. Had no idea what the hint meant but looked at previous logs for a hint and was soon in the right spot. Couldn't spot it initially but then found a bag on the floor with something inside which turned out to be the cache. It probably needs some TLC.
Signed and returned with a bit more cover than out in the elements.
Thanks for the cache.

Quick to here to this cool spot. Acted like the troll and soon came up with the goods
Little hard to get to for those who aren't small and nimble but cool cache thanks
With rebel98 on a small caching adventure, spotted this one, and thought we should find on the way, rather than the other way, as it is easier to park when you are heading to Waiuku.
Looked for trolls and found the cache.
Thanks for the hide and the history cj.trex

Always driven past this one on the way to somewhere and always late so never stopped. Needed to kill a dot day today so made the effort to pick this one up. A lovely peaceful spot to contemplate the lives lost and also the person who had drowned hear hear....looking at the stream wondered where this happened and wondered if the stream was less murky then.
All was intact here and easy find, thank you for bringing me here.

Family who live around here, never knew about this. That's why I love geocaching! Thanks for bringing us here
Day 1 on my little weekend Pukekohe escapade - no real plan, just chipping away at the area.
This cache was found quickly and in good condition after checking out the memorial. Cheers cj.trex, TFTC

Day 3 with a group of us South Island cachers hitting the area around Auckland. Today we were on a mission to nab all of the Crayola series, grabbing a few others along the way.

Visiting North Island from Otago as I still had my flights etc all booked last Christmas for what was going to be the Mega Weekend. Joined up with the Southland Geocachers (MrandMrsChosen1978, Wombat_4, NZBozzy, Kiscardi, Mrs Hazzer, Tregram and I) formed the Southern Raiders to have a Mega time caching in Auckland and Rotorua.
Day 3 - a nice morning chilling at the hotel and then it was time to hit the 64 Crayola series. As one of two who had all of the puzzle final locations loaded on my phone I became the navigator in the cark with NZBozzy and Kiscardi. So much fun was had travelling around the area and on the roads we saw and waved to drivers in some very old classic cars.
***[======== NZ Mega 2020 ========](http://nzmega.com)***
[NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) is definitely happening, but has been postponed until 2021. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 22 to 25 October 2021. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
* 20+ years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20+ years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* All the 20s and now 21 as well!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](http://nzmega.com) - you won't want to miss it!

Out today with Southern Raiders finding the Crayola series.
Out today with Southern Raiders finding the Crayola series.
Today is Crayola day; everyone has done the puzzles, back in lockdown, and this is very much a focus of the trip, while also doing a couple of the not-this-year-Mega-2020 events.
Travelling with South Island cachers, we found a number of caches including this one, on Labour Weekend Sunday.
We have typically signed as mrandmrschosen1978 or occasionally MM78. Crayola have been signed as Southern Raiders

Out with team Gold today (0B80B8, Liz Crew) doing a raid on the South Auckland caches. We had solved a stack of puzzle caches in the area, so it was time to collect as many as we could and pick up the trad's as we past them as well. Called in while passing and while the other two went and read the plaque, I located the cache. Thanks for the placement.
Off on a mission today with Team G0LD ( Geocachers 0B8, Lis & Daffy ) to finally do the Crayola 64 series. The puzzles had been solved ages ago, but due to two Covid forced delays, it was only now we could coordinate schedules and head south from Whangarei to make the finds.
We managed over 100 caches today, including all 64 Crayola puzzles, some extra puzzles, a few trads and a "slight" detour up to Awhitu Park to do the walk around there as well. A neat bonus was a couple of FTF's as well for the day. Finally made it back to Whangarei 17 hours later after over 500kms travel. Thx Greg for the driving, Lis for doing a lot of the hard yards in and out of the vehicle and yours truly for not getting us lost in an area of the country I certainly had never been before.
After detouring south for a few extra puzzles, we just had to stop off at this trad while passing. Greg made a nice quick find in the most obvious location. TFTC

Today was the day Team G0LD (Geocachers 0B80B8, Lis's crew and DaffyNZ) finally got to collect these puzzles. As Pete said we'd planned this trip ages ago but covid-19 got in the way.
I left my sons in Whangarei at 5am and got back home to Paihia at 11pm. It was a long day but I really enjoyed it. We found all the crayola series, a few trads near them, a few other solved puzzles. In the middle of the series we headed up to Awhitu Regional park to get a cache that required low tide. Along the way we even managed two FTF's.

I am heading out to Awhitu for the leap year campout, and stopped here briefly along the way. Quick find once I was down on the right level, TFTC
Wow drove right past it then had to come back what a cute little place! A bit of a scramble to get down to the cache, hope there are no trolls down there! Thanks for bringing us here! TFTC!
Not sure if it is well hidden, missing or we were just blind today!! Couldn’t find this one️
Day one of a weekend in Auckland with my wife. She loves to geocache, I keep her company.
It took a while to find the hint...
JDScout had a conference in Auckland for part of the week so I met up with hem on Friday night. Hopefully we will find a few geocaches on this trip as I haven't got many left to find in Christchurch.
Thanks cj.trex for placing this geocache 7641 find for me.
Sadly there was no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland.
======== NZ Mega 2020 ========
Planning for the NZ Mega 2020 event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. Thanks for hiding this geocache.

Happened to be in the area today with no plan for caching in place so just stopped at a few in the hour or two I had available. What a charming spot for remembrance. GPS had me in the wrong spot completely but after thinking about the hint a bit I finally located the cache. Not long after had it signed and replaced. Thanks for brining me to this spot cj.trex!
Headed out this way to find some of the new Crayola puzzle caches, claiming FTF on 5 of them before continuing further afield. Found the handy parking spot and walked across the bridge. Admired the tiny cemetery before carefully making my way to the cache.
Pazza2, Jag50 and I headed South Auckland way to find a few caches. A cute little cemetery and a nice quick find
Headed South with Merlot and Pazza today for a caching trip on the shortest day of the year. Nice to find this little cemetery and this ol' cache too. Took out a bit of rubbish before leaving the area.
Out with Merlot58 and Jag50 on the shortest day of the year. Luckily it wasn't any longer because I was pretty tired by the end of it! Cache was all in good order here. TFTC
Tyfc. Beautiful spot. Cache had me going a bit, muttering about my phone gps etc but nope, cache was right where it was meant to be
Heading down the motorway and then across to the west to Glenbrook Vintage Railway. A work colleague of Scotties was retiring and he had organised a train journey to Waiuku stopping at the local Cossie Club for dinner and drinks before the return trip back. Great night out.
This cache and location looked interesting so we pulled in here just as it was getting dark hoping for a quick find. Enjoyed the short walk to gz and seeing a small piece of local history. Soon had an idea of where the cache was hidden but decided on a change of shoes as we were really not dressed appropriately for this type of adventure. Once sorted cache was soon in hand. Log very damp and mildewy. Could do with some TLC. TFTC & bringing us to this location. Without geocaching it would have been unlikely we would have ever stopped here.

This on took a while, after a while I then also checked another place and there it was... Man thanks for the cache
