Spent a good half an hour searching high and low. Saw where I think it used to be prior to the new fence? Maybe the hint is written for the old location? Noting the last find was prior the bushfires of 2020 perhaps this cache is lost to the fires? Either way a great drive and amazing views. Worth the effort and the DNF.
Some awesome views at the top. But if coming from south, you'll have to go through some road closed signs and engage 4wd. The cache is about 13m from location.
From me campsite this morning this cache was showing up about 6 kms away.
How could I resist driving out here
I knew there would be a decent track out to the hill,
because it has towers on it !!
But which road was it that led there ??
From Larrys Mountain Road,
I discovered that K-Line Road was the one to go for
And after a very scenic drive I reached the turnoff onto Ridgeline Road,
where a sign proclaimed "Road Closed Ahead." [:o]
I drove on towards GZ to see how close I got
About 500 metres from GZ as it turned out.
Many people have driven around the "Road Closed" sign,
but I figured it would be a lot more fun to hike up to the top from there
So off I wandered, underneath the powerlines.
It turned out to be a good climb to the top [^]
A bit scratchy in places,
but at the top I felt that I had earned this 'smilie' when I found the cache.
Views from the top on a clear, sunny morning are superb
I could see Batemans bay to Tuross Head.
Which is handy as the TV transmitters for the area are on one of the towers
The telly transmitters are the white, squarish boxes on the eastern side of the big tower
All hail the gods of TV
With all that viewing done,
I poked around for the cache.
13 metres from GZ eh !!??
Well there's a good spot
Eureka, I found it
But more fun was to come ...
... I had to scramble back down to the geomobile
TFTC and a fun way to start the caching day [^]
Fave dance !!

Well that was a bit of a journey.
I had nothing to do today and had seen this one a while back and thought it would be an interesting cache to go after.
After passing a group of insane mountain bike riders huffing their way up Knowles Rd i decided to park at the intersection of Wandera Trig Rd and Heffernans Rd and walk the rest of the way up the hill.
Getting to the GZ i realised the coords had been encased inside a fence. Luckily some previous finders noted this too and indicated that the cache had been moved outside the fence.
After walking al the way round i began searching. A group of trail bike riders turned up and i had a chat with one of them who had done some caching in the past.
After they left i continued searching and ended ip locating it in a place i had searched previously but obviously not hard enough. I found the coords to be about 13m out.
The log is dry and the container is intact.
Thanks for the excuse to come up here. I never would have if it weren’t for this cache.

Awesome, awesome spot for a cache. By far my favourite cache to date. I have been wanting to find this cache for ages but haven't been able to due to not having a 4x4. Our new caching-cruiser provided the perfect excuse to finally do the trek and was well worth it. Tftc
While passing through we picked this cache up. What an excellent place to be, great vies and a top 4 x 4ing experience. We love this area, but had to leave early as advised by the ranger as 40 people got stranded last week. A must to come back sometime!!
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Found it yelled our daughter! The location showed 14mtrs out from the location that we found the cache. Believe it has been moved since the newer fence has gone up. Hint... close to the new fence.
I would not call it a DNF, rather a CNS (Could Not Search) since while arriving at GZ there was a group of workers just getting ready to do some kind of maintenance work on the site.
I headed over to this spot after "Repeat your last" and began my search. Both the iPhone and the Oregon wanted me to go to the same location, but I was stopped by a rather high security fence surrounding the nearby buildings. After reading the hint, I saw what looked to be the high road and the low road and a few possible hiding spots, but was unable to get any closer than about 12m. I even went inside the opened gate on the other side of the compound to ask a technician if he knew of when this fence was erected, but he was of no help. So I grabbed some pics and continued on my interesting journey.
No cache, but worth the drive just for the views......and a trig.
May be the CO could check on this one.

4WDing + Geocaching = fun weekend!
Thank you, The MG, for showing us this place. Found it quickly with 'Be3dexogs'. The only problem was taking care of fallen trees on the way to the cache. Great location - would highly recommend it to others!
Thank you,

Out on a caching expedition with BatgirlandCo, Jmanjezza and some junior Jmanjezzas.
This one was a bit more well-hidden than we were expecting, so took us a little while to find it. Worth the trip up here too; great views (before the weather closed in).
Bit disappointed to see all the rubbish strewn around here tho'.

Took us a while to find this one in the thick scrub. Turns out we were staing on top of it all the time.
Like the views from up here, especially the area where the trees had been cleared. Wow.

Next stop on my first 4WD-ing adventure: a trip down to Bendethra for the long weekend with Doppelfrog, JManJezza and the Jezza-mites. Another trip all the way down in order to go all the way back up again. Stomach getting the hang of this now that I was in the front instead of the back. Awesome views from this one out north to Pidgeon House and way down south to... ummm... something I haven't climbed yet.
First attempt was up Yellow Flower fire trail. Before long we met with the local bee keeper and his too sons. The hill was too steep for him and he got himself high sided trying to turn around. A bit of extra weight in the back got him out. Back down the hill then up Knowles rd. The area was rather overgrown with bracken and we were about to give up when I discovered the container. I'm sure we looked here 3 or 4 times before. Dropped of the TB Paws for Thought after he has been travelling with me for some time.
Next stop Repeat your last then down Yellow Flower. What a rush, 4wd low range, low gear, steep as.

Great view if the weather was a little better, had a good hunt around for the cache however came up with a find
We really enjoy getting the 4x4 out into the hills to explore the great dividing range. Nice drive out to this cache that was rewarded with some top views over Batemans Bay and the coast. We had no trouble finding the cache before finding a nice spot to have a bit of lunch and take in the scenery. Thanks for the cache.
It was an adventure getting to this place. I went in the late afternoon so the pressure was on to find the cache before dark, so sadly I didn't get time to admire the views as much as I would have liked. My X-Trail got me all the way to GZ but I was quite concerned with all the sharp rocks and what they might do to standard tyres. It is sort of an eerie place, so isolated but the structure is serious. It has a serious power supply too those cables actually hang quite low. The weather was dead calm. I can imagine it can get windy here. All the RF Radiation Hazard warning signs were sort of concerning but fascinating and it's got me interested in researching what the danger was. Mobile phone had signal for Africa here so the structure is obviously part of the mobile network. There were so many places to hide this cache so finding it was a challenge that continued on until after dark, but it had to be done because it was such a task getting there. TFTC
There were some nice views from up here.
I had gone to GZ earlier in the afternoon but couldn't find the cache and moved on. On returning towards Moruya the road was closed so I had to detour back up past this spot and popped in again. As it happens, second time around the cache didn't take too long which was great. Grabbed the coin.
Some amazing damage up here from recent winds- a number of trees had just been ripped straight out of the ground. TFTC!

it is amazing the amount of damage a little wind storm can cause

but the cache could only stay hidden for so long.. tftc

We were lucky to have made it to GZ; the huge winds of the week before had dropped trees across the tracks everywhere in the area, and had prevented us from getting to one cache on our list for today already. Fortunately the importance of the structures up here warranted a clear track and allowed unimpeded access. On such a clear and perfect day the views were simply breathtakingly magnificent. Once we were able to drag ourselves away from the view, it was caching time; it took a little finding, luckily I had Team Casho along and the cache didn't say hidden for too long. Thanks for the cache The Mountain Goat.

Almost gave up on this one, took me ages ages to find. But at the end got to enjoy the views! Guess today was the day when you can see as far as Batemans Bay and Pigeon House mountain. Out: snake In: Spiny pig. TFTC..
With the day not being so good for visiting the beach we decided to head to the hills. A nice little drive up a big hill and we were soon at GZ. With all the rain and fog around it was a little difficult to get accurate co-ord's but we persisted for a little while longer and the cache was soon in hand. We're sure the view would have been great if it wasn't for the weather.
An interesting drive in over Mt larry and Kent Rd. Definately not suitable for most, if not all 2wd. Bounced around all the way up. Took a wrong turn and came out a different way on heffeman rd and maulbrooks rd. Much more suited to 2wd that way. t TB L dice and ball. TFTC
What a great drive, haven't been this way for along time (good to see so much green around). After finding GZ. only took a short surch in moving afew things to locate it. Sign the log and lefted, leaving the narsty smell behind.

great views once you reach the top, would recommend a 4wd as would cause less damage and less bumpier ride, still can't beat FORDS, they go anywhere Took geocoin, left keyring

We were admiring the view and finishing off the log book when suddenly i heard somthing coming "Quick pass me the cache so i can hide it". Seconds after i returned the cache to its safe hiding place, a grand spanking new rodeo rolled up. I quickly noticed the peoples garmin and relised they were here for the same reason we were. "Looking for somthing are we?" I called out, "Um, nar we just making a phone call" the woman said as she held the garmin to her ear. Turned out to be bbayjohn taking there new 4x4 bush for the first time.
The view from up there was exellent, even with a bit of haze, and the drive up there was all good except for the fact that i didnt even get a chance to shove the zook in 4WD.
TFTC and keep up the good work MTN Goat

On our way to Captains flat and have left the coast. Dragged the camper up here, was amazed at how good the fire trails are all through here, don't think I saw a pothole or washaway.
Amazing views from right up here, well worth the detour to this spot. Easy to get to as well, just follow the GPS, it knew where to go.
Now off to the companion cache nearby and then back down to the river road below.
Cheers

Once on the Mountain Goat track - we made a third discovery. Have been here before but it is always great. In the weather today it prooved the point. Thanks MG!!!
After getting the two Gold Rush caches it was time for the serious fun to start. This was just a nice warm up as it turned out, but was having enough fun to this stage anyway. Great views from up here, found the cache fairly quickly with the hint.
TNLNSL, and stopped for lunch. Thanks Mountain Goat.

Our first 4WD cache actually found with a 4WD! The secret clown people had us bouncing around in the back of their AWD so we didn't have to walk this one. Cache in good nick. Moving on the Canadian geocoin.
Found 10:38am. After an overnight stay in the forest, this was first on the agenda after a late brekkie. Very easy find, so I hid it a little better.

First cache on what was to be mostly getting Mountain Goat caches. The road up there was rather slippery in places after heavy rain and there had been some motorcross bikes up there that had churned up the surface. Found the cache easily exactly where it was meant to be. Took: Lion, Left: Car. Thanks Mt. Goat.
As the sun was fading I conned Mrs Rat into one more cache for the day and I promised we wouldn't miss the turn off this time. Well I dont know if she didnt trust me or what but all the way to GZ Mrs Rat tracked our progress on oziexplorer.
Once at GZ we were surprised to see we weren't along, a Telstra worker was carrying out some repairs. We managed to avoid him and quickly found the cache via the low road, which I might add is a dead-end. Nice views at sunset. TNLN Thanks Mountain Goat.

It was a nice easy drive up to this cache The track we decided to take up however was a little overgrown and scratchy. Once we arrived at the top though, we were rewarded with a magnificent view down to the south. There was lots of smoke to the east and north east so our view in that direction was a little restricted. Our trip back down was on a much better track but it did end up taking us through the burn off zone. A nice cache well done The Mountain Goat.

Radio. Due to budgetary restraints this vehicle does not have a map, street directory or one of those fancy GPS thingies. So we have not got a clue where we are but it does have rather nice views.
Unable to confirm if radio is secure but it did not fall out on the way up so it must be fastened pretty securely.

Picked a great day to do this one. Have been to this area before but not for quite a while. Choose a clear day and take some lunch, the view is great. Took compass, left spanner.
Well the lure of a new cache, buttered up with a coin with an Icon I do not have. What more could there be to get you out of bed early on a Saturday ? The hill has a great outlook. In an area with great tracks and great hilltops, this is another great example.
