This cache had needs maintenance log for a full log book placed on it over 12 months ago and no logged action by the owner.
Also 5 DNFs with no logged action by the owner. I'll archive it for no maintenance and no communication.

Reconfirmed that we are unable to locate the cache. Sad
Area around where the cache should be is covered in screenings and the grate is missing.

Owner hasn't logged in since Friday, January 19, 2007.
It looks like this cache doesn't exist anymore.

Like those before us...no find!Sad
And we had 17 pairs of eyes for this one!
We cornered a Muggle who knew what we were after and apparently the grate is no more and the GZ is filled in.
We like the location, but with all the graffiti the GZ would be better away from the summit if the cache is replaced.

Thanks for the walk.

The Riddellers and crew. Smile

I agree with LuckDogsCrew. We searched but it does look like there has been some work done there. Maybe it has been buried?

13-Jun-07
I am happy to go and check on this cache to see if it is still in place, as i pass by the location every 2 weeks for work related business. If luckdogscrew needs any further information I am happy to help.

Well like the last cacher could not find a ...., and hence could not find the .... hence could not find the cache. But did find a place that could be a filled in ..., With a now filled in .... that would have made a good hiding spot for a cache. The work looks new, so maybe it has buried the cache. The area was very close to GZ and could not find any other likely area near GZ.

No luck here. I searched for about 20 mins. Unlike others, had no problem finding the way in or the way to the top of the hill. Nice views if it wasn't for all the trees! Decrypted the clue, but couldn't find a grate and the only bricks were a good 30m from GZ. Rummaged around for a while but turned up nothing and reluctantly had to leave.

08-May-07
One of two I picked up today while out visiting one of my students. My GPS went flat about half way to the cache and I didn't really want to go back for batteries so I did it by the clue. Took a little while but found and logged in the end. Unlike others I had no trouble finding the way in though. Probably just lucky I approached from the right direction.
Many thanks

Great location, once we found the way in!

Think the area could have handled a much bigger cache tho.

Thanks

Left this Geocoin here - have tracking ID # now.

Found it quickly this time - don't know how we missed it on the last attempt! Took firefighter and left lizard.

Also left a Kootenay Cachers - British Columbia, Canada Geocoin and had a picture of dingoes with it that was picked up from Sanatorium (GCKY34).

Had a choice here, should I follow the road clockwise or anti-clockwise to find the entrance? I chose anti-clockwise and had a nice 1.5 - 2km walk through the new estate to find the entrance. Turns out however, if I had chosen clockwise, it would have been about 200m Sad Never mind, I like walking anyway.

The rest of the C&C family turned up at this point and we all proceeded up the hill and discovered the cache. Bit tricky to find, but it's certainly there. Thanks tbn97, didn't know this place existed. Took Samurai and left spanner.

13-Apr-07
Had a good hard look but was unable to find, despite the very useful hints. Eventually impending darkness and the vicious mosquitoes got the better of us and we gave up. Given the last log, perhaps this is in need of checking by the owner or someone who has found it previously.

By the way, there is another entrance to the area around the corner from the one mentioned - I have added a waypoint for this - a bit rough but it will get you close.

I will upload a photo of kangaroos from the nearby Greswell Reserve, from which you may be able to access Greswell Hill if you follow the right track. We didn't!

Found it easily with the clues ... i must request a maintenance check by the owner or the next to find. As we were replacing the cache we were spotted by some young gentlemen with spray cans in hand who appeared to see where our interest was. Care was taken in not being obvious but i cant ensure that we were not seen, and that the cache remains muggle free.

I hope for the best but am presuming the worst. I hope we have not been responsible for this caches demise.

TFTC fingers crossed for a positive outcome.

Had a lovely walk up the hill, well that is after driving around the hill for nearly ten minutes, getting giddy from all the circles, just to find a gate that was not locked. But as with all things in hunting for caches, patience is always rewarded.

It had rained this morning and the parched hill was looking a little damper, but was pleasing to see how many young eucalypts were managing to survive.

Found the cache at 16.02 took nothing and left a Chinese .10 Yuan note, in very new condition.

Enjoyed the drive around the old Mont Park and Plenty grounds, but how they have changed from when I worked in the area a little over 10 years ago. Gone are all the wonderful open spaces and all that is left is wall to wall housing.

Thank you for the cache tbn 97.

Oh boy, I made a mess of this one. After an eager run up the hill, I arrived and started searching where the GPSr was pointing. After a few minutes, it decided to send me somewhere else. And then somewhere else again! I didn't have the clue with me and didn't fancy another trip to the car and back. A phone call was made and the clue offered, and the cache was found shortly after. Interesting container.

Thanks,

18:00 Because of the terrain rating I decided not to do this cache yesterday when I had Squire with me, instead came back today with geohound #2. Had a little drive around and decided to enter from the north, parked the car near some recently sold land and watched a builder? dump stuff in a neighbour's skip. Surveyed the walk, worried about snakes and decided to keep the dog on the lead; and just as well, on the approach to GZ we spotted and had a chat with a curious echidna sitting on the side of the path. Once at GZ had some problem with the GPSr jumping all over the place. Tied up the dog for a wider hunt as I didn't have the clue with me. Spent about 15min in likely spots then noticed that geohound was to eager to join in the hunt and had chewed through her lead and was sitting watching me. Stopped had another think then figured it out - just in the nick of time; I was about to give it a miss. The one thing caching is teaching me is to be more patient. Thanks for a nice walk TNLN.

We were looking for somewhere for a quick Sunday arvo walk, and this seemed to fit the bill. It's quite an interesting spot, particularly given how close it is to the surrounding suburbia. TN left recipe card, thanks for the cache.

It had been a hard and long day and I needed a spot to stop for a lunch-afternoon break. At this stage I didn't realise this cache was close and after parking the truck I switched on the GPS. On entering a GOTO this cache was close so with lunch in hand I went for a delightful walk up a hill.
arriving at the cache location I commenced the search and within a minute and good EPE I had the cache in hand.
Many thanks tbn97 for the cache I have since read the story behind the hill which is fascinating, and a big thank you for making me take a break for this cache, after I returned I felt refreshed and ready for the afternoon assault on the roads. This is a great example of caching with a story behind it.

We had previously been on the hill for Puzzlemania #5 so it was not too unfamiliar, but the increasing number of houses made access more difficult. The hill was a lot drier and seems in poorer shape as a wildlife reserve. The GPS was a few metres out but the clues kept us on track for a quick find. We had to work fast as the mozzies were hungry. Took a T-shirt key ring and left a small penguin.

We were nearby today so it took little effort to continue on to get this cache which had been on our radar for a little while now. We took the long route to get to the top of the hill and when we did we found a middle aged couple hanging around - my first thought was that they were geocachers but it seemed that they were just locals who'd come for a walk. Mum spotted the cache and the girls easily retrieved it (they are much better sizes for this sort of thing Smile).

Interesting location - thanks for getting us up here tbn97

Fond by the Swaggies with Pippa5 and GeoRyan @ 12:30 today. GeoRyan made an easy find as the cache was out in the open on a concrete slab. All was intact though and we signed the log and rehid the cache in where we thought it went.

Took pink golf tee.

Left Party popper.

Thanks to tbn97 for the excursion to a new area.

Found at 16:50 with SatyricTim and the kids. Tim was first to spot this one and the kids were able to extract it. An interesting spot, well done tbn97.

The weather was ideal: very rainy! Rain adds a lot to the atmosphere.

14-Apr-06
More rain type caching, and the kids earned their treats. The fence arould the hill looked imposing, but we found an open gate. The path from there wandered a bit, but I stuck to it and it lead us true. GZ was spot on again and my eye is getting better at spotting slightly improbably geoetries. A fallen branch made reaching the cache a little tricky.

TNLN

Thanks tnb97!

Found at 19:40 unfortunately I had been at the Austin Hospital since Thursday due to my father having open heart surgery so we needed to get out for a while, so what better way to take a break than do a cache. We sat in the car and ate fish and chips for tea before heading to GZ on the way we spotted two kangaroo’s. This was the first cache trip my mother had been on. Thanks for taking us to this spot.

Found at 6.50pm GAFF3. We have been here before for another cache and we enjoyed coming back to see the progress of the houses and facilities. We also finally found out how much land and house packages cost here - start from $525k! At GZ we were all over the structure, but didn't delve too deeply at first. We eventually looked at the hint and then started to look in that spot with more determination. A nice hide tbn97 andthanks for bringing us to this spot again. tn/ln.

We drove around the area for a little while trying to find a way in. After a bit of a walk the cache was within our grasp. Nice hiding spot.

Thyla and myself where looking to put a cache up here a while ago. Instead we put one very close by. I like this little area. Very odd spot though, in the middle of this up and coming housing estate. Did this cache as it was getting dark and spotted 3 foxes milling around (outside the gates!!, around the residential area!). No wildlike seen inside. Went right to the cache. Thanks for bringing us back to this unique spot.

TNLN. Cheers, Thyla and Thylo.

Found it at 1525. When I got home the other day I said to Emu-K, "I bet someone else strolls along and finds it straight away". It turned out to be true. [B)] First I circumnavigated the object to make sure I was truly on my own. This time there were no vandals about, so I was able to make a comprehensive search. I found it in the second place I looked. Should it be moved from its current location? Now that I've found it, I don't think so. It's well hidden enough to elude the morons who apparently frequent the site. Thanks to tbn97 for the cache.

I came to this via 'Sanatorium' - nothing direct about the route between them! The cleanest cache box and contents I have seen - congratulations tbn97. We should all think about putting our cache boxes in an outer jacket. I took Mickey Mouse and left a green star.

Dear TBN97,

We found your cache today at 5:20pm as the fifth of six for the afternoon. We had just left Dak at a nearby cache and he had mentioned that this was back on line so we came for a visit. Did you realise that there is another cache somewhere on this hill? Ah, but which one and where? Thanks for the cache.

Kind Regards,

D & H B-A

Well Hidden but still there.
Took two boyas and the dog for a walk and managed to turn the 700 m distance as the crow files distance inot a 3.5 km trip that will ensure a quiet afternoon for all.

Good cache.

Will check it out today. Big Grin

I found the entrance easily enough, but I noticed that four young blokes were making their way up the hill ahead of me. Sad I followed them, hoping that they were not going to the same place as I was. Unfortunately, when I attained the summit they were there. I suspected they were intent on adding to the 'art', but were stymied by my presence. It became a test of wills; I wasn't leaving without logging the cache, and they seemed intent on waiting me out.

I took up several positions around the object, but strangely, they seemed to gravitate towards me, no matter where I went. I positioned myself at approximate GZ, but they were never too far from me, which meant I couldn't conduct any sort of search. They asked me what I was doing, and I told them I was studying the history of the object and wrting a report for a university project. I didn't ask them what they were up to, but it seemed obvious that they were up to no good; why else would they be hanging around there? Then they started collecting used spray cans and crushing them with rocks! I was still determined to wait them out. As a diversion, I started writing this log on my iPAQ--a painful process. One of them even asked me how long I would be! Smile I thought, "Only two minutes, if you would go away." I said 30 minutes, hoping they would take the hint, but it didn't faze them.

If only they had moved out of sight, I would have logged the cache and left them to it, but they not only positioned themselves close by, but they kept me under observation the whole time.

Eventually, they decided to go ahead with their ilicit activity right in front of me. I had decrypted the hint and reckoned I knew where the cache would be, however, I rang Muzza to confirm my guess. Then the police helicopter started circling, and there was a mild panic. Big Grin They scattered, but didn't leave right away. Eventually, they went off to "get some Maccas at Greensborough". Geocachers 1, Morons 0! Smile I looked where Muzza indicated, but there was no cache there. Sad DNF, after all that! Then the 'artists' returned after only a couple of minutes! Maybe they didn't have the readies for Maccas, or maybe they were hoping that I would leave when they did. I left soon after anyway, after 90 minutes of wasted time. Sad

I can't help thinking that the cache is (was) hidden too close to the muggle activity. If it is indeed gone, I suggest replacing it further into the bush and adjusting the coordinates. Thanks for the hunt.

10-Mar-06
Dak has commented that the cache has gone missing - will investigate & fix if need be!

07-Mar-06
I have been to this particular area several times when placing the cache 200 metres away. I knew the way in so I parked nearby. There were a flock of workers enhancing the area near the gate in, planting a sea of small shrubs.

Initially at GZ I was led to the wrong side of the structure, but after a reset, it led me back to where I found the cache in the open, still in its camouflage. My PDA had this cache under a different name with a different hint. However, I made a guess as to where it was meant to be, so when I left, I placed it elsewhere, less obvious to passersby. Back at home I checked the current hint and found that I had put it where this hint suggested. Phew.

Thanks for the cache, and for bringing me back to the area.

Found by Bob at 1015

I've been to this area a number of times on the hunt for caches now, including a mystery cache less than 200m from this one, and it's starting to grow on me Smile. The last time I was in this reserve, the fence had not been completed and it was easy to get in, but today I had to hunt around for one of the few gates. The cache was a quick find once I got to GZ and the coords were pretty good (despite only having 6 satellites visible, 3 of which were on the horizon). The camouflage was something I haven't seen before, but I wonder if it was worth it considering the actual cache location (it would make a good swap 'though Smile). The graffitti was pretty amazing - why would they bother doing it out here, unless they were just practising - but it's good to see they follow best workplace practice judging from the discarded breathing mask I saw near the site.

TNLN

Thanks tbn97 for bringing me back to this spot.

Found at 1:30pm after driving around looking for the gate for a while. Took the walk up the hill and made the find fairly quickly. Lots of housing development going on in the surrounding streets. Hopefully this area can remain a natural bush park.

Hey Geodes - thanks for being the first visitor - yeah - the camo is slightly superfluous, but I had another idea about where to put this cache, until this proved to be a "bad idea".

Alsume - my thoughts echo yours. Luckily, the site is Crown land, so will be left alone. The developers of the estate have given guarantees about (and have won awards for) maintaining certain elements of the natural environment.

PS to all - I know the log book calls this cache something else - when confirming my research when committing the cache, I noticed that I had a certain detail wrong... D'oh!
