I went to check this cache today and I only found a piece of the container.
Decided to grab this cache today, a quick one before heading home. Was at first a little confused on how to get to where it was - as a side note, i now know where the little driveway off forest lake rd leads - was quiet today so made it a relatively easy find, took a little seaching but cache was soon in hand. cool little set up, bought back a memory of Dad taking us to it as kids. Cache is allgood, signed and replaced. TFTC.
Lovely little area. Now how do I persuade my children to give me grand kids so I can come back to play
Found it with the grand kids will go back one day when the trains are running.
TFTC
Thanks for this one! I used to play here as a kid, this was quite a fun first day of geocahing 6th find all up
Well well today after a 10 km walk I'd thought I'd stop by and check up on my old cache. Well I liked it's new location. Should be pretty safe here. Thanks for looking after it. Of course it means I can now log it as a new cache for me seeing I don't own it. Tftc
Nice easy find. Sunny day for a walk with kids. Closed today Easter Monday so kids had a blast clambering over train.
After a few trips on the trains with the toddler, thought I better locate the nearby cache. Had an idea of where this might be due to finding a similar one another time. As suspected, had the cache in my hand only a few seconds after starting to look. A few muggles nearby but they were too busy with the trains and a party. TN. Left a domino. SL. TFTC!

No joy here today. Got seriously muggled by someone who was decidedly unimpressed with our presence!
Decided to head to Hamilton from Auckland today with a few caching buddies, with the intention being to find a few caches in Hamilton, and stop for a few on the way down and/or back. Most logs were signed as SEAC- an acronym for South East Auckland Cachers- a name that we came up with for our group, as we regularly cache together!
Pulled up nearby and jumped the fence.... which was a bit of a laugh, as it was a wire fence! Spent a bit of time looking here... had to stop once as the train went past, and we stood and waved while the passengers aboard looked at us a little strangely, standing at the edge of the bushes, as we were! Decided to skedaddle as we heard a voice nearby call out something that we couldn't quite hear..... but in case we were in trouble, we decided we had hunted for long enough, as had to give it up as a DNF. Looked at all the hint items though to no avail....

A plan was hatched for a group of us to travel from Auckland to Hamilton for a day of caching. We often cache together so have given our wee group a name - South East Auckland Crew - and sign ourselves SEAC on the logs to save space. Today we were caching with darthcacher1, purply, NewlynFam, UncleSamNZ, NZTravellers, and were later joined by keylev, craggar and laval.
After parking nearby, but then having to scale a wire fence to get to GZ (many laughs were had as Mrs HeMaLuDy got stranded half way over for a while). We went straight to GZ and started hunting, pausing in our efforts when a train passed by, we all waved but the passengers just looked at us as if we were a little strange. We had 8 pairs of eyes hunting today, but no luck - we think we thoroughly searched all items that might match the hint. We left in a bit of a hurry as we heard someone shouting in our direction as they didn't sound too happy. Our only DNF for the day.

Spent a while lurking in the bushes an under the bridge like a grumpy old troll.we will be back to find this sucker
So sad that this didn't end up a smile! Especially after walking all the way over her and having only a few hours to cache before heading back up north. Spent ages looking, even in unlikely areas (considering the hint) so no idea where it has gone. Maybe I just wasn't looking right but certainly tried. Can only hope that is has gone missing (not that that would be good for CO, just for me).

This was the fourth cache of the day. The cache was in plain sight but is now camouflaged a little. There was one item which doesn't fit in the container properly and as mentioned previously the proper log is full but a piece of paper has been added. Thanks for the cache.

This was really really fun to find. Very cliche. Lol. And we never knew there was a miniature train attraction in Hamilton.
We loved the container. Lovely walk round the tracks at our favourite dog park.
Such a cool train park! We were walking along from the pools area, but on the wrong side of the fence and had to climb over. As there was some muddy ground on the other side, the place to jump over was important: Mrs Gernita got her trainers a little muddy, Mr Gernita not so much. Wandered around the tracks (funny to hear the real-sized trains rumbling and crashing about not too far away) until we got to the GZ. Cache was found pretty easily and log signed and cache re-hidden quickly.
TFTC!

Out with SethRaven enjoying the night trains. Loved the themed cache. A great night. TFTC
Came down tonight especially for the night trains at Minogue Park tonight with Fencarrows and a friend of mine came along for the night also. We had two rides on the trains so decided to find the cache whilst we were here . . . . . . . into the bushes with a little torch and cell phone lights and made the find quite quickly, signed and replaced where we found it and all the while the trains were running all around us. TFTC
Walked over minogue park and watched someone flying a toy plane. Then made our way to the cache what an awesome track setup thanks for bringing us here
Wow what a lot of thought has gone into this place and thank you for bringing us here.TFTC
Staying at a hotel near here for work so with a bit of time before next meeting I decided to go for a short walk and find a couple of caches. Approached from the 'can't fence us in' cache direction on foot. Managed not to get my feet too wet. This facility is cool. A bit bigger than the one in Nelson near the modelers' pond. After I found this cache I realised I'd left my mobile at the previous cache so had to back track there. Luckily it was lying right where I'd dropped it. Whew! TFTC, Biggles.
Cool spot, I took my daughter here on the open days when she was younger but she's probably a bit old now, even though you're never too old for trains
Neat cache bag, I chucked in an extra piece of paper till cache owner can replace the log properly

Brought Uncle Brian over to Hamilton to visit his cousin... and some cache hunting along the way.
Enjoyed the walk into ground zone... There's nothing like the smell of freshly mown grass. Arrived at the railway park and spotted a couple of characters hanging around on the fringes. Luckily the area is quite leafy, so I was able to search without being detected. A quick find but the log is full. Squeezed my name in wherever there looked to be room. TFTC.

A bit of a walk but well worth it. What an interesting site/area. No idea this existed before now. Be great to see everything in action. Liked the nice little touch with cache surrounds. Thanks Chris.
Wow! What an amazing place a - a must visit with the mokopunas in the summer. The themed hide was the icing on the cake.
Tftc. Never been on the trains here before. Obviously a lot of effort has gone into this place.
Nice quick easy find after working out where the cache was yesterday on the train with the boys. Lovely walk /bike on a beautiful winter's day. We covered the cache better than we found it. Boys appreciated the Dreamworks card too, thank you.
Found originally as part of Rebel98 team, now created own account, re-logging as rustynz
Train, yes we need to come and see/ride this train. We were lucky to get a ride, and got to explore this part of the parks. Cool hide, Mr Rebel had it in his hand, whilst I scrambled back up the bank. Thanks again for the hide.

We had to have a ride on the trains, inflation has had an effect on prices which is now $2! The train took us over the bridges and thru the tunnels. The lake was empty today, it looks like Hamilton needs some rain. And then it rained! so the trains had there last ride (2 hours early) and were packed away. I guess its not much fun for the drivers in the wet. Luckily we got two rides before they stopped for the day. This worked to our advantage, because now we could make our way to GZ and the cache was ours. Thanks for the hide and bringing us here.
Nice wander in the wet today. GPS was a bit out but hint a big help so no problem.
Was so cool to finally be in Hamilton when train not running and get this cache !!! Great bag !
Found during the CITO in the area. Quick find, and loved the little train station. Thanks for hiding.

Walked right past this one last year, really nice find, my friend adin234 found it first, though.
Lovely walk around the park with Sammy the geo hound. No pencil so couldn't sign. Tftc
Was looking up high, it's downlow. Was looking for a clear container with a green lid, is not what you find. Good cache!
What an amazing place. I parked by the BMX track and walked in. Lots of muggles round the station but nobody at GZ.
Took nothing, but left my Bloo Roo TB and a geocoin.
TFTC.

I've been wanting to do this cache for ages, so a sunny Saturday afternoon seemed the perfect opportunity. Enjoyed walking in and around the site, cache was soon in hand. TFTC!

There were no trains running this morning so it was peaceful wandering to GZ.
+ a marble, - nothing.

nice hide as my thomas trade wouldnt fit in the cache i put the cache inside my trade feel free to take it tftf
This is an area that we visit all the time. It was fun to go hunting with a purpose. We had to be careful of muggle kids catching tadpoles. Fortunately they were fully engrossed. As we are new to the world of geocaching I was impressed that my kids didnt blab about what we were up too.
Hooray!!! We found it. Went round and round in circles for at least half an hour criss-crossing the miniature steam trains.
Found this on my morning walk. Thanks for bringing me here it's an amazing little place
