#13085 17:15First of two days staying at the beautiful Hill End campground and do some interesting 4WD tracks. Of course there was the odd geocache to be found. With the Bridle Track completed we drove back from Bathurst to Hill End. We made a brief stop at Sofala, and after a refreshing beer, we slowly drove back to Hill End, picking up a few of the many caches. Then it was up to the one remaining lookout at Hill End. It was an easy drive up but I had to be careful not to get a roo in front of my car.. The view from the top, overlooking Hill End is spectacular,. The cache was found in excellent condition.TFTC Unbreakables!
Quick park and grab, had been on the bald hill walking track earlier today so was interesting to see the view from this next level up. TFTC
Did a couple of jigsaws and re-solved a couple of history mysteries to fill my time before taking a trip to Hill End via Wellington. I decided to use geocaching to show me things in the area I had previously missed. It worked.
Highlights were a number of lookouts, the Cornish Roasting Pits, and an incredibly creepy looking graveyard.
Thanks to everyone who hid these caches.

TFTC - Lovely day with a lovely view! Great day to spend some quality time with the boys <3
Not great reception had us searching and searching. Wish we had packed our GPS for this one. But alas, once we saw the new Co ords and used a little geocaching eye balling of the area, we had the cache in hand.
Nice view of town from here. You can visualize how big it was in its heyday.
GPS was betraying me so looked at the clue for advice. Do you know how many clues are within a short distance?
Found in good order and dry.

What a great cache. I came here for the trig and then realised there was a cache. This was my main reason for coming here from Sofala. I had no idea about Hill End until I got here. I had some great adventures here today.
Thanks The Unbreakables

Another great day on our one-year tripp around Australia. We love to travel in this country and we love to look for geocaches. This geocache has again shown us a place that we might not have visited without geocache.
Thank you for the geocache !
Greetings from Switzerland.

Another trip across the ditch to find some caches with tmann421Enjoyed all we found and all we sawThanks to the cache ownersSigned log tm/ww NZ
Had a great time heading up the hill to the summit. Wet and cool today. When the top appeared there were a couple of vehicles, not the nicest thing to see when you've made the effort. However, cache in good shape and thanks!
Spent the morning checking out the town and then off to find some caches.
Found this one about 20m from where the coords indicated but the GPS on my phone seems to be playing up so maybe it’s just me. The cache had some water in it which I emptied out but the log book was dry enough.
Great view of the town up here.

We were the first to sign the new log and unfortunately it is already very wet. Emptied water from the container. TFTC
Tftc, GPS jumped around a bit but got there in the end and it was found where my gut told me it was on the first pass.
Great view of the town below. Oh! And a great location for a cache. Did the legals and replaced as found. TFTCM

Found as part of a great weekend exploring Hillend. Persuaded a friend with a 4wd to take me up to here. What a great viewpoint. Got the nearby trig for GCA points too. TFTC

We struggled up from near the mine, not realising there was a road all the way to the top.
The view was well worth the effort though.
Good one, thanks The Unbreakables.

Having bid our farewells to folk at the Oz Geo Muster, we set our compass for Mudgee, where we set up camp, in order to explore the area to the south west of town including Hill End.
A similar feel here to the mining areas in Victoria.
Thanks 'The Unbreakables' for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

Mudgee trip for The Road Less Traveled series. Day 3. Sofala to Mudgee via Hill End and lots more back roads. The hill top was very bare, but there was an unlisted trig, so that was a bonus after the cache was collected.
Thanks.

Found on 2/11/17 but missed logging it until now. Easy find but what views, 360 degrees! We spent some time just enjoying it all. TFTC and for bringing us to this spot that I would never have found otherwise.
Thanks Unbreakables for bringing us up here. Despite many trips to Hill End I've not been up here before. Great views
