Usually a DNF is a frustrating experience.
But this area is beautiful with the paperbark trees lining the path along the river - with turtles sunning themselves on the logs and big branches near the water.
Thanks Yogi71 for a great DNF - but seriously mate - you need to go out and check it and then either fix it or disable it - especially when local cachers who have already found it can't find it again.

We found the spot ( well we think we did) but could find the cache Is it still there
We enjoyed the walk to the cache along the path which was in such close proximity to the river. However unfortunately we could not find the cache either. Thanks guys
After looking around in all the obvious spots for this cache it was not to be found, the obvious spot for a cache looked like something had been digging around. Widened my search still to come up empty handed.
Sorry I tried to change our last log which was a note to a needs maintenance one but it wouldn't allow me. We are certain the cache is no longer there as we have previously found it.
Burdair jnr was taking part in a billy cart derby at the Scout den which is not so far from this cache so we thought we would quickly duck off and grab the two geocoins in this cache so we could move them on next weekend. But alas we were unable to find any sign of the cache.

Bear new location as had done water activities here before. Easy find, right where you said. Took TFN's Crowesfeat30 Geocoin (TB17J63) to move on today
Sorry have tried to log taking geocoin to move it on but have had some trouble. Please note it has been moved and placed in a new location today.
Found this one with Mum Deathtrip at 3:00pm. Trees gave the GPS a bit of a chase but found it in several minutes anyhow.
Swapped a geocoin for a geocoin
Thanks,
Deathtrip

We have been meaning to drop off this geocoin since we got back from our trip to Gladstone but the recent rain fall has prevented us from doing so. Actually we thought this cache may have been a bit water logged or washed away because of all the flooding but we were pleasantly surprised to find it still tucked away in its hidey hole.
Lovely little riverside walk late in the day. Not too many muggles around and an easy find. It was really pleasant strolling along the path next to the river with a cooling breeze - checking out the various flora & fauna. Quite liked the paperbarks and the water plants. No swaps but dropped off Dog Stamp TB. Thanks yogie71
What a lovely spot. We haven't been here since the changes have been made.
Very nice indeed.
Thanks yogie71 for bringing us here.

An enjoyable walk along the river. Our last cache for the day before we headed to the esplanade for a visit to the childrens water park. We had to extend our search slightly from where the GPS indicated. But found it and hid it up again. TFTC.
#11 for the day. Found in short order, again rain is keeping the muggle traffic to a minimum. Anyway we are now becoming masters at pretending to look totally fascinated in the local flora and/or formations when muggles approach.
Left lanyard, took snap lock clip, improved the camo when rehiding. SL TFTC.

Bit hot in the sun but the walk along the river is cool.Thought we were the only ones there till we walked further down the track after finding cache. Rounded a bend and found muggles galore at loam island community centre. We stopped and took the time to watch the turtles in the river.TFTH TNLNSL
This is our second find for the day. A much cooler area than the dam and such a nice view of the river. Vicky took the Gps in hand for this one with not much idea of what to look for but the Gps pretty much put her on top of it. Had a great time today cant wait to get out and find some more. Filled out log TNLN
Found 07:49 Another lovely stroll along the river. Coords are spot on. Cache a little exposed (as paperbark rots down) but excellent spot. Can see this will be busy with muggles once the boat ramp carpark upgrade is complete. T: Stawberry L: cap keyring SL. A good spot to take tourists... do more TFTC.
Lost my paper in the creek. Thought a croc might get me... Found cache after a little searching. Muggles nearly got us.
Found the cache at 5pm. Again Cath found it before us eh!! We enjoyed walk along to the cache and hunt. Disappointed to see no TB there. anyway no swap. Please see the trishtrish35's comment. Thank you for organise the cache and hunt.
Last find for the day...as we turned into the car park we realised we were fast running out of time...we were some what upset to see that the path was closed due to work but after seeing muggles walking through we risked it...Cath and clowning boy led the way and once over the bridge...Cath's eyes sparked up looking left right and everywhere...the find was somewhat too easy so after we logged our visit we put it back and covered it better so it was away from the prying eyes of muggles...A lot of muggle activity in this area and we are sure they wondered what the hell these strange people are looking for but their loss and our Find...however disappointed to see that there was no travel bug in this cache...A great end to a wonderful day of geocaching...TN LN SL...TFTH
What a great walking track and a variety of wildlife. I starlted a Pea Hen just before the cache and it took off into the bush, so take care.

Easy find, nice walk along river. Took a Geocaching disc 'LambdaMapcar' and left a gel pen.
A lovely quiet stroll down by the banks of the Ross River
No crocodiles seen today, the waterskiiers must have scared them off
Took a smiley and left something (forgotten what)
Grabbed the truckin' TB.

Beautiful bike ride from the uni! SL, Took penny and Townsville keyring, left TB (which is coming from the US) and my custom wooden nickel. Flower Bug TB wasn't in here. TFTC!
I had done this cache not long ago, but happened to be here with a few friends and thought I would introduce them to caching. I didn't have the coordinates in my GPS anymore so I walked close to the cache and said "it is hidden in a 5 metre circle around me" didn't take long for them to find. My friends son was most excited to be able to take a weird laser bracelet thingy!! I left a few more pennies. So now there are about 5 in there!!
Fruitfish find another one, great location within the urban environment, great for the little fruitfish's to get out and about.
Great hiding spot, have been past here many times in the past but have never taken the gps with me, didn't take very long to find and no muggles around when it is raining either.

The 1st cache of our last morning in Australia and we actually saw some real sunshine, the first in a five day stay. I don't know about the Sunshine State on those licence plates?
The parking area was deserted and so we felt relaxed about muggles. Found GZ OK and there was the container 2/3 exposed.
Luckily I only had the log exposed when a jogger surprised us.
We covered the container fully when we replaced it.
What a nice area but unfortunately we had a plane to catch so couldn't stay long or explore far along the walkway.

2nd cache for the day (and in total!) well directed and geokid #1 found it. very excited! TOOK: Scooby keyring LEFT: Dragon ball Z Tazo.
Our very first attempt at geocaching and we found it! Great site for a walk, very pretty by the Ross River.
Took Penny, left a Scoubidou keyring.
Also took Tawia as we are travelling further north and we will give her a lift.
Flower Bug seems to have moved on.

Lovely stroll along the river this morning on a path I had never noticed before. As always, Yogie71 takes me to interesting places.
Had a few satellite lock problems, and a couple of muggles giving me strange looks, but after a few minutes of searching I found it.

Wow! I have lived in Townsville for over 14 years and never knew that this walk existed. What a lovely area. I love all of the paperpark trees. I took a bag of clamps and left two pennies. I have also left Tawia travel bug - it can have a nice relax next to the river after it travelled to Melbourne and Brisbane with me in my handbag!!
Ahhhh number 4 today. Never ceases to amaze us how great this city is once you find a reason to get out and search around. This cache was so close to the path yet so hard to see (if not knowing it's there) Great spot yogie. The boys were hoping to see a croc come out of the water, same as croc dundee. Not me, I was happy to deal with birds chirping. There were matches in this cache so we removed them. To much paperbark and stuff around.
Took a coin
Left T'ville keyring and a finger toy
Thanx Yogie

Hi this was our first cache. As we have only just been enlightened as to the wide world of geocaching. Thanks to the Mitchell family who got us into it.
We removed the travel bug and left some coins from Singapore and Thailand.
It was nicely hidden but there are a few people around on the weekends.

After having car troubles we didnt think we would get to go geocaching today but plan B came into play and we ended up with a replacement car. Enjoyed our walk along the path no muggles around.
No sign of the Travel Bugs that we thought were going to be in the cache but we did leave Mia's Crazy Caterpillar Travel Bug there.
Thanks Yogi

Gps was playing up a little today but when it settled down it had us within a metre. Visiting from Darwin and used geocacheing to look around and take anice walk by the river. TB visits by finding my bearings, Carolyn the clown fish and the flower bug. TFTH
A nice easy walk to a well built cache. Thanks for the nice location which i didn't know about til now even though we had good friends who lived more or less across the road from here for some time.

Second cache on this year's visit to Townsville. Lots of boaties around the ramp but only saw a couple of muggles near the cache. Container was bigger than I expected so for some time I was looking in the wrong places.
