Had a brief look, did not take on the barbed wire and blackberry after seeing previous DNF on this one
I was told by the owner that they no longer do geocaching so no maintenance is being done. The area has become exceptionally overgrown with blackberries Bush.
Tftc, found it after a bit of a bush bash. Stick with it and you'll get there.

We camped at the Wallace Lakes rest area with the caravan, found a spot where we would not get bogged in with the copious rain we had experienced. This morning dawned foggy but with signs the sun would make an appearance. We started early and loved the scenery as we travelled the area. We did have to do a bit of maintenance at gz as the cache has not been found for many years and we did see some horeses roaming the area. Thanks to josh-penny right way for hiding this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
Found on a drive around Portland, and what a lovely little spot! Wet inside cache, but able to sign log. Thanks for placing! : )
Found as part of a weekend away with Hoojar. We headed up towards Gulgong the first night and camped near the start/ end of TRLT (@ -5 degrees ). The next day we made it through some nice historic places and great rolling countryside to finish up at Sunny Corner after a feed in Bathurst. The next day a few more finds before we headed home. Plenty of roadkill spotted, not many cars and not too much trouble at each cache. Thanks to all those cache hiders .
The opportunity finally arose that Steeba and I both had a free weekend to go caching. We quickly settled upon the northern half of The Road Less Traveled series. We drove to Gulgong via Mudgee after work on Friday, camping just before midnight at the suggested TSR nearby.
Saturday we made our way via the caching trail, and the odd additional cache, to Bathurst for dinner, then back onto the trail to Sunny Corner where we again camped for the evening.
Sunday we turned our heads for home, via a few additional cache stops in Portland and Wallerawang.
A fantastic weekend away, with excellent country to be seen and company to be had. We enjoyed the caches that we found.
Thank you to all of the cache owners, and sorry for the boiler-plate logs!
Saw some wild horses, even a clydesdale!
Cheers

TFTC Thank you for going to the effort of hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity.
#3794- In the area today with bikerbuddy, who had already done this one. I was keen to clean up all 7 caches that put Portland on the map as a place to visit for geocaching. This one was a lovely spot with horses certainly having right of way. A quick find in the second spot I looked and we were off. Thanks for the nice drive through the area. I especially liked the hobbit horses we saw. Thanks
Found it - a rather nice spot and a quick grab as we were christmasing near by
Found with the lookylookyloates, walking distance from our holiday house. TFTC
Well, you'll never get complaints about false advertising with this one. There were horses grazing all over the place! Nice area. TFTC.
Thanks josh-penny for bringing us to this area. I'd heard about it from friends who used to live in Portland but had never actually visited it.
Cache number 4 on road trip with KellickGuider, Apsley168 and LJC44 today. All 4 of our GPS devices had GZ at different spots but we finally found it! Added more swaps, a geocaching note and extra camo when replacing it. TFTC
My GPS was taking me to a completely different spot to the others in our group and I thought I'd made the find first, but alas it proved to be only rubbish and we had to keep looking. We eventually made the find and signed the log. No wild horses around today, but plenty of evidence of their visits. TFTC josh-penny

The coordinates for this one were a little bit out, but after looking in a few spots, we found the hiding spot.
Thanks

We looked really hard for this, over two glades, and couldn't find it. A hint would make this a little easier.
We arrived here late in the afternoon on our way home from Mudgee. We walked down the slope and searched about for the cache but couldn't find it.
"Can I help you?" a cultured voice enquired from behind. I turned. It was a horse. He was wearing a tuxedo. I was so flabbergasted that I could do nothing other than say I was looking for the cache. Toriaz, as usual when these things happen, just fainted. I gave her a quick shove with my foot but she was out to it.
"Dearie me," the horse said.
"She'll be right as rain as soon as this anthropomorphic dissonance is rectified," I pointed out.
"Well, we'd better get started then," the horse replied. "It’s a little off the coordinates you know Master Bikerbuddy, but not far off." I don't know whether I was more impressed by his stylish dinner wear, the fact that he was talking or that he knew who I was. I stared after him as he trotted over to a spot. "Do be a sport and retrieve it, would you?" he asked. "I have an occasion tonight and this suit's just come back from dry cleaning."
I grabbed the cache and signed it, all the while keeping an eye on the horse.
"Is it hard to keep it clean out here?" I asked after I returned the cache.
"Dastardly. And you can't do anything about the neighhh-bours?"
"What's wrong with them?" I asked.
"Oh, you know," the horse said companionably, "Poor diet, always on the trot. They leave it everywhere you know. It just drives me wild."

Thanks for this, great area, seen a midget horse and some hilarious goats. Put a new log sheet in cache as others are getting full and wet. Didnt see any caution horses tho.
Cache logbook is in tatters, and full. I had no suitable replacement, but anyway the CO may care to collect the old log for its historical value.
A day roadtripping alone around the general area and on from a string of DNFs. Followed the road around and momentarily thought I had the GZ with the appearance of a horse 'statue' by the roadside. Then the small shetland pony ambled across in front, gave a tired glare, and joined a mate ... the GZ proved to be a little further along in a nice little glade. Easy find, but the logbook has reached its use by day (and I had nothing suitable to replace). Good cache in lovely location. TFTC
Didn't see any wild hourses - just wild rabbits. The log is in sheets and might need to be replaced.
Saw heaps of wild horses twice today - see Damn Cache. Two trips down this road which was quite pleasant but funny in a sad sort of way. Made a quick find then into Portland for lunch & a good 2 hours wandering around waymarking - 12 degrees tops with wind chill but a rewarding walk-a-bout. Thanks.
Found with hubby after a bit of a search. App had GZ at 10m, so I should trust that an easy cache didn't mean I should climb over a barbed wire fence. TFTG

Mudgee Trip 2013. I was bit surprised to see houses / farms in the common area, but I suppose that is ok. No horses around today, so just a nice visit to a cache in a much better condition than the last one. Thanks.

what a great find and beautiful scenery with the wonderful wild horses. dropped TB's.
A nice easy find off the side of a bush track.
We made the drive a bit more interesting by continuing along the track.
Thanks, Robmc.

The second day of our Blue Mountains expedition with Pprass and Robmc. Today the satellites had the GZ about 8m south of where we found the cache located. As we proceeded further into the bush after this cache find, we came across a number of horses that didn't appear to be fenced in any way - guess they are the "Wild Horses".
TNLN . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt josh-penny right way.

Found at 4:05:26 PM GAFF1 in the company of Phetlern and Robmc. We loved the drive around these tracks and then we really went 4wding afterwards. Couldn't see any wild horses though.

A very nice area visited, had lunch down the track a bit, thanks for the lunch spot. TFTC / TFTH / SL
After being one of our first attempts at Geocaching and not finding it....we returned with a bit more geoexperience and found it. Everything was a bit wet so left as is. Beautiful spot.
Our last of the day & a good one to end with as we spotted several wild horses nearby.
Thanks,

The track was very slippery here this morning and the Geomobile was sliding around a bit so the Geoboy on his "L"'s thought that was a hoot. Engaging 4x4 sorted that out. Nice quick find but no wild horses here today.

Nice easy find. Stopped and had lunch in the reserve, after the boys had patted the horses.

This was right around the corner ( so to speak) from where we were staying. mind the horse poo!
Found it ! The camo on this one was almost gone so I found it with ease. The horses didn't even move when I pulled up and started looking around. They must be use to it (or I have very good stealth skills). Made a swap & signed the log before adding some more camo to the hiding spot. Cheers

Came about 6kms from the south through the Common...arrived near GZ and found the bitumen about 300m away!! Camped on The Common for the night and spotted a wild horse out and about.
Another area we didn't know existed. Some campers ahd set by the stream for the weekend. The cache was located and the log signed.

This was a great find, took Mr Packo out to Portland to show him the little area down Willewa creek Rd...decided to do some caches in the area while we were there......Imagine our surprise after i took him there and when we were leaving I asked where the next cache was and we realized it was only 100 metres away...I had been thinking what a great place for a cache. Great area like a little untouched paradise. thanks for the cache. took ice cube left 50 cents worth of uncirculated 1 cent pieces (for someone who collects coins).
Bugger the cache there was horses to catch YAHOOO. After spotting a magnificent stallion just up the road I was off on foot. When I was close enough I walked into his field of view so as not to startle him and he just eyed me suspiciously. He soon relaxed after giving him a pat on the head and we both sized each other up. After standing beside him holding is mane for a bit I then vaulted onto his back and we where off. As we galloped past the cache I noticed the other half had found the cache and she said something about stop playing silly buggers. The mighty stallion soon accepted my presence and I named him Binky after a near death experience while riding a horse at the Easter Show years ago.
Binky and I set off to find some more caches around the area.

1200hrs. Loved the spot. Took Red Ferrari left white horse, fair swap I think.

This one was found in a location that I had previously searched, but the camouflage was a little too thick. The final location was quite a distance from the GZ that the GPSr was indicating.
Lots of horses running free today.
No swaps, but collected “A Wandering Minstrel†Travel Bug.
Thanks josh-penny right way.

Despite the GPS pointing a little way away, I checked where I thought it might be, and found it in a short time. By the time I had replaced the cache, the GPS still showed some distance away. No wild horses seen. Thanks for the cache.
I seen wild horses and kangaroos on this early morning raid of this cache. Found it after a short search. Did my swaps including a TB for the next finder. Thanks for the animal safari.
the only reason i spent 20mins looking for this was err (i know) Jeep dog wanted to run around it had nothing to do with me climbing all over the WORRRLD looking for SOMETHING THAT WAS RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY FACE!!!!
yeah Jeep dog had a ball froliking

I'm sure it would be a beautiful spot during the day. It always seems however that we get the time at night to go looking. Great hide. Easy find (even in the dark).
Seemed to have a fair amount of GPS error today. Still found easily enough though. TNLN I think?!
No horses here today. We decided to nab this one whilst in the area getting another virgin. TNLN signed the log sat around enjoying the piece and quiet for a while before moving on.
