After a bit of a wander around we located the cache - no rabbits maybe the snakes chased them out TFTC TNLN
Found it. cache in good condition. can't imagine why a rabbit would get in there. TNLN TFTC
GeoHubby found this one months ago so it was my turn to find it. GeoHubby laughed as I stood right over it but couldn't see it which earned him a dirty look. Grass was long so the eyes were on the look out for snakes. Log book was damp and now on its last page so will need replacing very soon. TFTC
After staying with my Aunty and Uncle at nearby Coolah and introducing them to the world of caching, hubby , kids and i head off to Dubbo. We are going to drop off hubby to catch the bus back to Cobar to work in the mine, while the kids and I travel back to Melbourne to finish off the school holidays. This cache we had driven past on the way to Coolah and knew roughly where it was. Took a little while to find. TFTC
Thought like a bunny and tried to hop up the hill but the ageing bones were having none of that! So looked at places a bunny might feel safe and there was the cache. Thanks.
Got into character and twitched the nose and tried to make rabbit noises but found my education was severely lacking and didn't know what noise they make. Wandered about a bit under the trees but finally spotted the cache. TFTC
Mid year break... To Newie.
Cleaned up rubbish from old cache container, log is a little wet.
Left something cause I love bananas!

We came to Qld to attend the mega and after we headed of to Kingaroy for a couple of day but now we slowly make the trip back to Adelaide grabbing caches along the way, we thank all those hid caches for us to find along our journey back. TFTC
Took a little searching but got there in the end. TFTC!

A great days caching on a road trip toward Oz Mega 2015 with Team Crackers and The Coffees. Many differing experiences, some where I walked right to the cache and others where I needed to hunt around a bit. As usual I have enjoyed the various challenges set by the CO's and the fact that I get to cache with friends and am outside in the great outdoors.
Many thanks Oldbluedog for placing this cache .

Found it with Team FIN [kapeka & laalaa]
We had fun with caching few weeks here in Australia ( Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and Australian Capital Territory ). Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and huge country!
Greetings from Finland!

Wonderful holiday in Australia with laalaa. Second day and towards mega. It was so different what I used to.

We parked near the big banana sign in the parking area, then made our way towards the cache. Don't know about the big banana, but this cache should be home of the big spiders. We almost walked into a couple of these monsters in their webs across the trees.

Found by Mary & David at 1045. We found three containers at GZ - the disintegrated pieces of the original Sistema, a replacement jar, with swaps, a trackable and a damp but useable log, and Beckster22's second replacement. They are now all together in the one hiding place. With the day warming up, we did appreciate the shade, and enjoyed the iconic view. Mary still remembers the taste of that frozen banana dipped in chocolate at The Big Banana. Retrieved "GeoWoodstock VIII gargoyle3" TB. Our thanks to Oldbluedog.
Found after a short hunt. The cache container was in a bad way. I had a spare container in the car so I have replaced it along with a clean log sheet.
Day 76 of my trip to Brisbane.
Fourth day on the road, destination Mudgee. I'm having a shortish driving day, to see what I can see, do some caches as I go, and get in some walking with the GeoSchnauzers. It turned out to quite an interesting day, with an earthcache I hadn't noticed collecting our interest for over an hour, and a nice drive in th countryside to boot. There was some great scenery in places. I'm a bit late with the logging, I'm home now, and have five days of caching to log. Have I made 1000 caches on the trip? Today's ten gets me to 935.
No 6 of 10 today. Thanks, Oldbluedog. I met TheSkyGeek on this one, and we had a short chat. I knew from the logs that the container was broken, so, seeing an obvious cacher on site, I went over and met him, checked the container, and found that an empty plakky bottle I had with me would fit in the hide, so I went back to the car, collected it, loaded the (dried) cache contents into it, except for the very wet paper swaps. The hide was big enough for both containers, so I left the papers in the original container, in the hope they'll dry out. The log itself was in its ziplock bag, and so was fine.
You'll need to replace my bottle, as it's pretty thin and is probably not UV hardened, but it is in the shelter of the hide. I'm actually quite surprised that the damage on the original container is UV damage. The repairs should hold for a year or so.

After dodging and battling many orb weaving spiders I found the cache and then met Mr jd on his way up to kindly replace a very worn out container. Dropped TB GeoWoodstock VIII gargoyle3.

Enjoyed the walk in the scrub minus pulling some burrs out of my motorbike gear. Muggles not likely to bother you here as they will probably think you walked off to do number ones of two lol.
Cache was partly uncovered and the container is very brittle and has some holes as a result, a new container is suggested. It's hiding spot had been destroyed so I placed it in the same style of hiding spot a couple of meters from where it was found and slightly closer to where the cords said it was. Cheers ADAHELI
The final cache find for our weekend visit to Dubbo zoo.The cache was very exposed so I covered cache back over and we continued on our journey home. Thanks for the cache oldbluedog TNLN SL
I think I approached this from the wrong direction as I got covered in those nasty little stick like seeds. What an efficient but very annoying method of seed dispersal. I think others have called them farmers friend, but I would think a small spelling change would be more appropriate as farmers fiend TFTC Oldbluedog
TFTC a quick find on our way back to Maitland from our geo adventures in dubbo
Found with Craftiness. This one proved write tricky and yes we were all coveted in farmers friends lol. TFTC.
Wow. That was tricky. Covered in Farmers friends. Too hard for geokids, took Mum to find....tfth

Found at 12:46 PM GAFF1. Odd place to advertise the Coffs Big Banana - we were there just 2 weeks ago and it is a fair way away! We parked at the rest stop and had lunch. While that was being prepared, p-pprass went off to look for the cache amongst all of the blasted Farmers Friends - they should be exterminated [:(!] The cache was then found in what we call an "off centre" location. There was a nice big structure that would normally hold cache, but no, as a surprise you had to look just off to one side to find it. This method is quite entertaining to say the least .
And s to the warnings, we didn't have little children with us so the warning of having to watch over them was not applicable to us, however if we had little children with us then - oh boy was that a good piece of advice let me tell you We used to let our children roam free and wild and let them learn from their own mistakes. Wish we knew about this piece of advice which would have been oh so useful
Thanks Oldbluedog.

I didn't have too many dramas with the farmers friends maybe they've attached to everyone else. I didn't have a lid that fit on this container but the cache contents are still dry.

Found this after some climbing around, and getting covered in thorns! Cache is in good condition. TFTC!
Quick find but I looked like a porcupine after finding it. And I thought the prickles were bad in Katherine! I will never complain again! TFTC
made the find and found more farmers friends that I needed or wanted.
the cache container is broken but so for so good and noting is wet. we didn't have any spare containers in reach today the ute was loaded up ready for our trip home and not going to be easy to find a new container sorry.
I did wonder about the banana reference but I didn't notice a banana around either.
TFTC oldbluedog. not liking the frames friends that I still seem to have stuck to my jumper today.

Found on the way home after attending the Oz Mega Event in Murray Bridge. South Australia. Decided to head home through Broken Hill for some sightseeing and caching. Great cache. TFTC
No luck for us today with this one. There was a lot of traffic and we did not feel comfortable rummaging around in long grass in a ditch just off the busy highway.
Good cache on our way to Orange, found with zuidy92 dropped trackable, took nothing.
Took us a while and we were about to give up but found it when the geo girl announced "That's it I don't know where else to look" and there it was right in front of us the whole time!
On a very hot day, I did wish that this one had been at the rest area where we pulled up in the motor home, but we did find it. Good hide. Left one of my badges. Took a band. TFTC. Angus the great GeoWestie assisted by grey nomad carer Lis Brown en route from Bundbaerg Qld to Perth WA via Tasmania.
On our way Dubbo To Morpeth.

Nice easy find on our way from dubbo back home to Newcastle. Farmer across the road was cutting his grass and wouldn't stop looking at us so took a while to put back. Thanks
Always wanted to check out this rest area. Nice to have another reason to stop. A quick find. TFTC

Was driving past this cache and realised that I had found this one before, on 9.7.13, but hadn't logged it, so now that' s what I'm doing . Did check that my code was in the cache . TFTH
A long way from Coffs Harbour but nice to have a geocache in this grassy area. Note to all geocachers please try and protect caches from the elements as the banana was quite wet.

Quick find after tromping through the grass took the easy way back to the car along tge road. Then realised I had tken the pen so had to go back TFTC

WOO HOO We found it really quite easy had great joy writing our names in the note pad for my very first time .. gave us hope to go back to the Black Stump looking for the one we did not find this morning .. but alas it is still hiding lol
#19 A bit of a treck to GZ, was happy to get out without getting bitten by a snake.
Must remember ... If there is a chance of caching, pack sensible shoes! As it was, looked over, under and through GZ, no luck. Will try again next time I come past, with sensible clothing and gear!

We were heading north towards Coolah, so I parked the car with husband and kids just past the turn off and walked over to the likely area. I looked in a few likely, but incorrect, spots. Then I figured out where I should be looking and went for a jog up there, ignoring the blisters I had gained earlier in the day at the earth cache at Peak Hill!
I reached the GZ, had a good search around (so many perfect hiding places in the GZ!), covered myself in burrs, but had no luck! The sun was getting low in the sky and I thought my family might be getting worried, so I headed back to the car to find my geohusband heading my way. They had been getting worried I had taken too long!
I complained that geocaching by myself was a bit boring and he suggested we drive up to the GZ and have another look together. We did and he found the cache within a few mins!
We signed the log, then walked back to the car picking burrs off ourselves. We thought we had done a good job until the next morning when we woke to find burrs on our pillows. We had forgotten to check our hair!

Great find! Little geokid looked around and came up with the goods. Didn't bring a pen with us so couldn't sign the log but we have picked up the travel bug and left some magnets. Lots of farmers friends for us too! And clover nearby for our traveling guinea pigs
Came here about a week ago and didn't find it. The muffle in the tractor across the road put me off but had no trouble today. TFTC
How we missed this one late last year.. Who knows. Maybe we were just fixated on the wrong spot. Anyway, it was a quick find on a lovely morning. Took some time after in the nearby rest area to clear off the cobblers pegs. Thanks Oldbluedog.
Good to be doing another Team Bluedog cache, it has been a while. After poking around in the wrong place hubby looked at the GPS and found the nicely hidden cache. SL TFTC
