Sadly this cache has been muggled by the local kids too many times. SO RIP the Frogs
I will go there some time tomorrow. I think some give up too easily. Head to the right of & around the hill in front at the back of the lake, then to the left. Work your way back around the small hill & then you will be on the left side of the lake. Walk the gap back to the rockfall ( on the other side) & the cache is right there..
This week I will visit the cache hole. I will put a bigger cache in there. Will cachers PLEASE LISTEN TO WHAT i SAY IN HOW TO ACCESS THE CACHE. It is darn easy if you follow my instructions. It is a fun cache to do. It is not hard. You do not need to go over the rockfall. PLEASE STOP TRYING TO ARCHIVE A CACHE THAT IS EASY TO FIND IF YOU FOLLOW MY INSTRUCTIONS !! i AM SO HAPPY TO LOOK AFTER THIS CACHE FOR GEKKO 1. Please read on how to access the cache as i have said. Far out !
Also will you people please stop worrying about snakes. I came here from New Zealand, 30 years ago & my Aussie neighbours still fear snakes for no reason. OMG.
Had another look here today and found an old mint tin but nothing else? Not sure if this is the cache or not, though the container was hidden among the rocks.
Have logged a Dnf but didn't actually get to gz. The ledge is now just a slope and like the previous log.. I aint no spring chicken! I want prepared to go around the hill as it's snake season and the grass is high! Maybe next time
What a nightmare! We got to GZ but there appears to have been a rock slide, or perhaps it has always been like that. Anyway we are no longer Spring Chickens, let alone Mountain Goats so this one was beyond us, buried or not
No luck for us today. Had to give up as the heat was overwhelming at the GZ. TFTH anyway.
Had another red hot go here again, but alas no cache. We searched everywhere for nearly half an hour with another team but couldn't find this elusive hide. Oh well for another day, TFTH.
I hope you find it today with the extra info I gave you. tis covered with a small rock. Stay steady on your feet.
Alas no luck here again today. This is the forth time we have looked for this cache and it still eludes us. I checked every rock, rock pile, hole, etc I could find, but nothing was evident. TFTH Gekko1 & Astrohiker!
This is still an awesome cache to do. Despite the container. It is how determined you are to find the cache. Keep going. Don't aim too high.
I have fixed up the cache. I have also blocked off access where the rockslide occurred with some branches. It is still dangerous that way for people of any age. The cache is inside a mint tin, inside a small clicklock container. BYO pen. There were 3 ways into the cache, now there are two. Hint no need to climb high. Park opposite the houses at the bottom of Kintore road off Riley road. Kintore rd off Gt. Eastern Hgy is a dead end.
After trek into another side of the road I have driven past many times we came across a beautiful scene of a quarry lake filled by recent rain. However as we neared GZ with reliable GPS it became evident that recent rains gave caused a massive landslide. The side of the hill containing cache is now in the water. Suggest CO come and check.
No luck here today, though I suspect the cache is gone as the co ords led us to the little hill that has basically had a major landslide into the water. TFTH anyway Gekko 1!
Having come out this way on a previous month, but I was told that this one was a little slippery for this time of the year. Well of course I had to do and see If I could find the cache. Parked walk up the wrong side of the pond to have to walk back and go around the otherside, which I did very carefully until my boots had no traction and then after a short muddy slide I was at 2m. Wow how good was that, but I continued to slide and got my boots a littler wetter than planned but the good side to this is that the clue had me looking from the down side not the upside. So I found it, the log was mush, so I replaced from a log in my backpack and signing duties done. Now how to get home without getting mud through the car. Thanks for the adventure.
I will look into this cache Gekko 1. I sort of have adopted this cache anyways. And I am happy in doing so.
Was with Geofam and had an idea where it was, but the route was difficult with a pram in tow, so left this for another day. We walked around the quarry and the older kids loved discovering a little gem of a place. TFTC, even if we didn't find it.
Creative hide and a nice nature walk to the GZ, over stream and a nice lake... The hint helped? (Well it was correct) the rock it was behind every could have been any where... Still a great find and glad that I went out there to find it!!!

Well after searching 3 times in the wrong area finally this cache has been found. Tftc
This was my third visit here and I only returned because I had been given a hint by the new cache owner... I really did NOT want to be here again after two very long, unsuccessful searches. The hint suggested I had been looking in the TOTALLY wrong spot - and a very dangerous spot too, where I - and the geo kids - had nearly come a serious cropper a number of times. The correct spot thankfully is a much more sensible location. So glad to have got this one off my watch list - as lovely as the place is, I have no desire to ever come back LOL. TFTC
Out with Hills Home Learners and showed them geocaching. Lovely spot. We made little rafts out of bamboo and floated them on the water after lunch. TFTC
I actually remember this cache being published 10 years ago and I never got around to finding it, so now, 10 years Iater I decided to go and look for it. Lol. I had a nice pleasant walk to the water pool along a freshly graded track, but when I got to the bamboo the fun really started. A lot of it has been bowled over by the recent heavy rains so it was a hard slog getting through that and trying to search. The terrain could almost be a 4, but I eventually made my way past a fallen tree and went up higher overlooking the water hole, and sure enough, I made an easy find up there. So a note to future finders, stay out of the bamboo and go higher! That fallen tree makes it harder to get to gz for now. It'll eventually rot away in years to come. I signed the log and replaced it as found. The cache is still in great condition for its age. Many thanks to gekko 1 for a good cache in a nice spot. It gets a favourite point from me for the nice walk and location.
Took a little cross country trekking, and after a few false finds finally caught our eye...
Came here last June but with the cache in place this time, a find was made by the eagle-eyed 10 yr old. TFTC Gekko 1/ astrohiker.
I'm getting far too old for caches like this. Had to keep my butt low to the ground to reach GZ. Thanks for the cache Gekko 1.
This was my third visit here and still no luck.we couldn't get within 15m of GZ, up the hill, below the hill... No idea.
Early on the way to the airport a stop here and there to find some caches on the way this is one I found.
Probably not the safest cache to do in the darkness but done none the less . This has favorite point written all over it. I love the 3+ terrain caches the most and this one was great fun. I will be back in the day to check this out, I cant believe I drove past this so often and didn't know it was here. 100% glad i've discovered geocaching just wish it happened sooner.
Thanks Gekko1

Out and about with Me&B today and was able to tick this one off the list. What a lovely little oasis tucked away! Could clearly see the container from the far side so braved the rock ledge to scoot over and sign the log. Me&B had been here before so she sat back and watched me at work. Great spot, Gekko 1! TFTC
Wow this is a beautiful location and a laugh to get to, especially when a fox comes out from the bamboo
Logged under Mummy & Daddy's name smileyjims but I have my own name now, I found this cache with them and wrote in the log book with them TFTC
Third time lucky - we have a smiley face - left tigger TB - signed log - the cache is there

I will look into it. I have family near there. I replaced the container last time too & don`t mind doing this.
No luck today. We had a good search of the area this morning but failed to find the container, so went off to the nearby pub for lunch. A fellow cacher confirmed the hide location as we ate, so we returned after our meal to the spot but again sadly did not find it. Pity. Its a nice location none the less. Thanks anyway.
If any one can replace the cache that would be greatly appreciated as I now live in Tasmania, otherwise i will have to disable the cache
Thanks

We found this one years ago, but we came back to do it again! Found it together with Bro.
TFTC!
TFTC!
Looked for over an hour and couldn't find it anywhere, I tree had fallen down where my gps was pointing me but i didn't find the link between the frogs, I will definitely be going back later on this week
My family & I just happened to be driving through Mundaring when I got the email to say that this cache had been replaced... 5 seconds later I was diverting off from the highway & within 5 minutes we were back at a now familiar spot After giving the kids instructions to sit still at the top, I was down the bank & back on the hunt for this cache... I made it harder than it should have been, but after a second look soon spotted the likely hide
TFTC Gekko 1 & thanks for the replacement Astrohiker [^] This is a great spot for a cache & I hope to return again one day for some more exploration... Cheers!

Strolled down to this one for a maintenance check. Nothing was there. New container, log book & a 2 or 3 items added.
Sorry Gekko 1, but I do not seem to be having a very good run of finding your caches recently... This was another one I searched for but could not find There has been a large tree fall over GZ, & after crawling around underneath it & coating myself from head to toe in mud I conceeded defeat... The kids happily watched on from above as they watched their crazy mother clambering about the rocks
Although no luck on the cache finding, we did enjoy exploring the old quarry & following the tracks around through this lovely reserve... Thanks for bringing us here & I will no doubt be back again another day

I will look into it soon as Gekko1 lives over east. Just a medium walk from family. But am not going there for lunch today so hoping mid week..
Being found semi-regularly up until 5 months ago but being in the area thought we'd have a crack. Fantastic area that we didn't know existed before this despite living in the foothills all our lives. Caused quite a few anxious moments due to the kids having poor listening/obeying skills. Recommend just for the walk.
Fairly precarious. Cool location though, TFTC. Swapped 2x safety specs for jumpy frog. Keep it real me home boiis
Wow. What a nice little hidden place. Frogs, Fish and Ducks all spotted around the pond. Cache was in a nice spot too. TFTC!
Awesome spot! I grew up in the hills and have now brought my children back up here to enjoy the wonderful outdoors the geo kids loved the little adventure this cache took us on great job on location TFTC
We love real caches. This was real both in size and location.
The sun was almost set and we left the torch back in the car. Once we realized where we had to go we had to rush to beat the light. Lucky for us we found the cache quickly and just got back to the car before total light fade.
Thanks for the interesting location. We never knew there was a quarry here.

What a fantastic place to hide a cache. You know where it is, but how to get there without getting wet, maybe drowned and quite possibly eaten by crocodiles? So much more satisfying than trying to find a daft little nano.
A favourite point from us. T4TC.

We have lived in the local area a long time and have never been here. Great spot.
out in the area to do a few caches this was 1 of them as i got to with in 20m of gz i had spotted the cache and i thought how would i get there and just as i go to look at my gps it dies so now i have no refrence of where i am to the cache i then had to rethink how i would get there after having done that i think i must have chosen one of the hardest ways to get there but i did get there in the end great spot for a cache

A very cool spot... We looked all over the apparent GZ before Daddy Detour suddenly twigged why the GPS kept leading us to a certain spot. We too the Cos advise on how to get there and Detour Junior made a fairly quick find thereafter while Dad made sure nanokid didn't fall in. Plenty of frog sounds, but we didn't see any! TFTC
A bit tricky to get to..but a joyous moment when we found it the description was very helpful!
Found it very tricky to find not in the safest spot. Tip you must cross the creek wish we knew this beforehand as you get very muddy and possibly wet to. Don't do it on a rainy day not at all safe to. Thanks for the find
After last weekends earthcache event, I realized how many caches were still out this way waiting to be found. So we headed back up this way again this weekend. This one took a bit of searching, but I was determined to find it. Mundaring was my stepfathers first home (so he was truly a Mundaring Boy), and I think of him every time I come out this way. I bet he enjoyed this spot when he was a lad. Loved the location of this one and was in awe of the size of the fish in the water. A fav point for the location and the memories it invoked. Thanks Gekko 1
New container has been provided by Andy Vella, so should now be back up and running.
I was crashing about in the bamboo and it was looking a bit snakey and splintery so I gave up. Lovely spot though. I was mostly interested in figgering out how to get the best out of the new GPS.
