In Ireland with Lime Candy and [Monki] from the UK for the day to pick up Europes First cache. Decided not to retrace our steps but to go up, up, up from there to this one. Well worth it when we made it to the top - but it was a hard slog to get here. Lovely views and certainly what caching is all about.

I came here today to log "Europe's First" as my 1800th Cache Milestone (there are nearly 250 Geocaching Australia caches which dont show here on GC.com) but I needed 2 cache finds before I could do that. I got the 1st one up the road a bit but then 2 DNF's in Bray and I had to change the order of my finds to do this first, then on to the main goal. Good thing too as it was already getting a little late and it made sense to go up the muddy hill first for photos and NOT having to descend in the darkness. The climb was quite strenuous but not too bad... there was a granny in heeled shoes doing it... made it to the Cross in good time and took some photos before I lost light. A quick walk around and I was at GZ signing cache find #1799. Fantastic views up here and a well thought out hide to avoid the tourist muggles while still retaining the view. No time to waste I headed back down the hill to chase down the old girl nearby. Cheers from Australia, top stuff.

On our trip to Bray Head me and schokozwerg of course visited the summit and this cache. The way up was rather muddy but the view from up there compensated us for dirty boots Wink

Kind of found ourselves up here accidentally (had been aiming for Europe's First). Never mind - views with sun just starting to set over the mountains made it worth it. And there was always the prospect of a Maud's back down in Bray to revive flagging spirits.

Phew!! A bit of a slog but well worth it for the views but slightly marred by the remaining smell of recently burnt gorse (a lot of it). Gorse stops well short of GZ so no problem in this area. TFTC
