found the cache on the ground. so returned it to the likely spot... just goes to prove that not many people pickup rubbish!!
After a brief but futile-feeling hunt, I realised the cache was right in front of me - lying on the grass! Replaced it in the obvious spot. I wonder if a curious bird might have tugged on its tag. TFTC powellbruce.
Kid J from KidzJCT found this one for us. He had only found one today so far so we gave him a 30 second head start. Sure enough he retrieved the cache just as we were getting out of the car.
What a busy spot muggle standing close to GZ using his phone and not looking like moving on, so we managed to park between him and the cache which gave us a bit of cover, from that direction at least, most traffic moving too fast to notice what we were up to. We soon had the cache in hand, like the concealment method TFTH
Great seek and hide on a hot Gympie New Year's Day, had a couple of go's to retrieve the cache, got there in the end, TFTC

A nice find while walking the geo-hound on a soggy holiday monday.
Thanks for the history lesson.
Thanks for the history lesson.
Found at 0945. Actually we didn't have to look for it because it was on the ground about 50cm away from where we assumed the hiding place was.
Found at 0950hrs with holster and thehairbear in tow. The mower man had just finished the area. Lovely bit of history that I didn't know about until today.

Tricky hide. Found eventually after circumnavigating the structure at least three time round! Must have looked funny. Thanks for the cache powellbruce.
This was an obvious place and I didn't even have my GPS when I went to this one. An easy find but the cache needs a new log book. Thanks.
Interesting bit of history, I liked the hide. The log is full
needs updating Thanks

I don’t think the horse would be too happy with that trough! Nice spot, lots of geese chasing us around, looking for food. Plenty of other birdlife around too. Very nice spot! Oh, the logbook is just about full – 2 spots left. TFTC. =’.’=
A wonderful piece of history you would never realise existed. Log book full TFTC.
A full on weekend raid on our own through Gympie, Maryborough, Burrum Heads, back down through Kin Kin and Noosaville collecting 62 caches along the way.
Nice easy find TNLN.
Nice easy find TNLN.
Found after a short search. Retrieving was easy, but replacing took a while. Too many cars driving past, and waiting to turn. TFTC
On our way back to southern NSW after a week of fun & 4wd'ing on Fraser Island with the gophers. A tricky hide that took a 2nd glance to find it.

Managed to get to this one just on lunchtime after a morning assault on the Gympie caches. Of course, the area was packed, so kept driving. Returned this arve to have the place to myself. A very clever hide, and an interesting piece of history. TFTC.

Number 817 - This cache was found with Bruce ,from L&B and Powell Bruce laughing at our attempts to locate it. I found the nice sneaky hide at 10.45 pm . Cheers The Nanks
Great little piece of local history. We were camping nearby and really enjoyed searching for this micro cache. Well hidden. We managed to roll up a scratchie inside so hopefully the next cacher will win big. TFTC
Second visit to this one for us... this time, there seems to have been a slight modification made to the cache... extraction was much easier this time around.
We signed the log and were on our way. No swaps at this intersting micro.
Thanks to powellbruce for the cache.

A nice quick drive by on our way north. The Geokid found it before we made it out of the car! Just as well - I think I might have struggled to find it.... A clever little hide it is.
SL. Thanks for the cache!
SL. Thanks for the cache!

This was a great little cache. Good co-ords. Good cache. Good hide. Thanks for the history as well. TFTC
Found this one on a cache trip with geonephew 'Bedmaker'. He'd been here before and was pleased to see it's now a whole lot easier to retrieve the cache. TN/LN/SL and took a picture of the magnificent tree across the road.

The container has recoverd from plastic surgery and is back at home. Should be easier to extract now so no excuses for not signing the log in the cache.
Looks like this one was away for attention while I was looking for it. I have been away from my computer for two weeks now.
Sorry If, I disagree, theres no way it could be described as a loose fit when it was as far in as it was when I retrieved it. It is when it first goes in, but.....ingenuity and prepreparation did prevail for me.
Forget overinsertion. How's about cachers use a bit of imagination and initiative. The cache is a loose fit in the hole and shouldn't be too hard to wiggle out with a twig. C'mon use some initiative and don't be so impatient
currently sitting on the operating table under going a face lift.
Will be returned later in the week.
Yes patience ingenuity and previous logs can be a virtue at a cache site.

The maintenance tag can be removed from this one, as I found, removed and logged this one. It took a bit of doing, but prior preparations, and a skillfully crafted tool saw the cache in my hands, after lying in the bindieye. Logged this one on the way down to Brissy (7th for the day) for Bundys Bloody Bewdy Brissy Bonanza, my attempt at the Qld one day record. I would suggest not pushing the cache so far back into its hidey hole, or maybe the owner placing something behind it to prevent accidental overinsertion. Cheers Bundy.
This cache will need to be fixed up before it is usable again. The wood is stuck in the hole and I could not get it out with a knife. Something will need to be attached to it to fix the issue.
Found this one but could not get it out of its hidy hole. This one will need some force to gwt it out now...
Hey! What's with all these smilies for DNF?...
I DNF it also. Well I did find it but could not retrieve it as it is stuck deep in the hole. I didn't sign the log book so that is a DNF under MY caching rules.

Found the cache at 10.00am. Pity I cant sign log which we tried use different tools but still fail eh!!!. Thank you for organise the cache and hunt.
Easy to find this cache Another matter to retrieve
Obviously some cachers are ill equipped to recover the more tenacious hides they may encounter [:o]
But having seen some of our more 'limpit' cache containers, I always am prepared. Dib, dib, dib, dob, dob, dob
The old jigsaw blade with wooden dowel handle carefully prised past the cache and given a ninety degree twist and a deft flick of the wrist had the cache out of it's foxhole in next to no time
Finding the cache is one thing, but not being able to sign the log is not a find

Travelling with Liz & Bruce after dark, the boys tried with all sorts of tools, and although they could see it, were unable to retrieve it.
Lots of traffic around with the Gympie Muster nearby. Thanks Powellbruce.

Did this one on our way back (the long way) to our camp at the Noosa North Beach camping ground. The cache is still there but without the right implement impossible to retrieve. Thanks guys.
Finding the cache was the easy part.
Extracting it from its hidey hole proved to be too difficult!! I even tried tweezers & other implements of extraction but nothing worked... i think some wire with a hook on the end might do it but i couldn't lay my hands on it.
As a result, although I found it, I was not able to sign the log book.
Perhaps a maintenance check is required?
Thanks all the same - it is located in a lovely park in a pretty part of town.

quick grab at the end of the day...

3rd find of the day at 1105hrs.
Plenty of traffic around but an easy find. Grabbed it straight back to the car and filled in the log.
Used hemastats to get it out. You certainly need something.
An interesting place for a cache. Thanks.

Found straight away, but had nothing to get it out with. Returned later in the afternoon with apiece of wire. Very public place, had to wait for the muggles to jog by. Signed log and placed paperclip inside. Thanks for the piece of history. John & Terry
Found while on the way home from up north.
Easy find but difficult to get the cache out of its hiding spot. Lucky I had some wire in the ute.

09:18hrs Luckilt I had the leatherman on hand to retrieve this one. Easy find in a very public area. TFTC.
Found this one super easy. Anyone who is thinking of searching for this one needs to A- LOOK OUT FOR MUGGLES, and B-BRING TWEEZERS TO GRAB THE CACHE. I logged in and left a nail, which was also a handy tool for this one.
First to find. I bet that most of the people that go past this cache don't know the history on this place or what the ?????? was used for, very interesting. The cache is hidden very well even if it didn’t take long to find it. There are certainly Geomuggles around but you can’t do anything about it, just pretend you are having a rest. ( a short length of tie wire would be handy).
Great cache
