Out on my bike for a few caches after an early breakfast and before the Muggle family members arise. This one has lasted the distance. Not so many from this era still around. Thanks bits prayer.

A wee discussion between Mr P and myself as to where the cache was going to be... hence I took one for the team and went through the young gorse to GZ. Amazing views. T4Tc

Hmm, correct me if I'm wrong but shouldn't that be Tara Ma Co Big Grin? A cool little walk - - about the right length when there are lots of caches to find, and so little time Wink. Loved walking along the escarpment, loved that the kamahi are in full bloom and loved the views. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

short walk before dinner. track is a bit over grown in places . good view from the top. tftc

19-Jan-20
Interesting place! Not many people come up by the looks of it. They have resurfaced the parking area, so I had to park a little further - funnily enough near the plaque that explains the history of the hill. TFTC!!

28-Dec-19
This our last cache for today, we have had a great day collecting the caches and code words for the TMGT series and gathering other puzzle and traditionals that are along the way.
We have driven past and mentioned this cache to each other on several occasions, today we made the time and effort to head up the hill to find it.
The cache was quite wet as was the log, but it is still useable.
Some good views from up here, but the trees have grown and is blocking much of the view over the town.
We carried on and did the loop walk, enjoyed walking amongst all of the punga trees
Thank you for placing the cache and thank you for the smiley

On the road for a trip down the West Coast with our little caravan to explore this part of the country. It is not a caching expedition as such, but we do manage to stop for one or two
Our travels lead us to your cache, as we travelled down the Coast, many thanks, Bitsprayer, for bringing us here. We’ve had great fun so far and look forward to finding a couple more caches as we travel on our way. TFTC.

Needed a walk so braved the muddy track to look for cache. Nice views. Easy find once I looked on the correct side of track. Log dry but everything else wet. Needs a clean out. Tftc.

Yesterday I moved my caravan a bit further south to stay with an old work colleague in Awatuna. So this morning I will continue with the caches along Stafford Loop Rd and onto Kumara.

I took the short way in by taking the righthand track up those steps, signed the cache, and took the long way down by the gradual grade track.

Cheers for the cache.

08-Jan-18
A quick venture up the hill to admire the stunning view:-) TFTC

How on earth does Bitsprayer know about these places? A nice local walk to an interesting viewpoint, really worth doing. [http://www.kumarawestcoast.org/walks-attractions/](http://www.kumarawestcoast.org/walks-attractions/)

16-Oct-17
Great views of the town. Care needed along the top as part of the edge has crumbled away. TFTC!

16-Oct-17
Was not sure how safe it was to leave the bikes at the bottom of the hill so pushed the bike up to the top of the hill and then rode down the other half of the loop. Great views from the top of the hill, not sure if the remnants of the picnic table are because it got blown away or due to vandalism. TFTC

03-Jun-17
#14126. Given where the track started, I thought it might head downhill towards the river. I was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to climb to an excellent viewpoint. TFTC.

03-Jun-17
Found with StreetWalker en route to the West Coast for Queens Birthday weekend to escape the drizzle of Christchurch.
This is another cache we have driven by before. It was a lovely day for a walk and enjoyed the view of Kumara on one side and the river on the other. Once in the right spot (after vigorous frisking of the wrong hint objects), the cache was a quick find. Grabbed the TB. Thanks for bringing me here and great to find an older cache - 11 years and going strong. TFTC.

Found with the help of Bosloerie. Thanks.

25-Mar-16
Its Easter & have teamed up with The Seagnoid & Zara, for a magical mystery tour. Bug out Thursday lunchtime picking up the Seagnoid on the way to exploring the amazing West Coast.
Loved this walk and the amazing views down the river. The Seagnoid found it and started to return but I wanted to keep following the track which thankfully was a great loop track. Much enjoyed. Cheers

25-Mar-16
On a big Easter caching mission with ZaraBus and TaybeeDragon. Lots of crawling through mines, climbing hills, walking through bush. And yet we only covered a tiny bit of the West Coast, between Greymouth and Hokitika.

Climbed the hill had some great views of the cow. Interesting to see the difference in altitude on each side of the hill. Dropped in a trackable, path tag, emerald and a favourite - I like these walks.

I noticed the track was not marked on the map, so I added it an hour ago - the maps have updated already (Open street Map)

13-Feb-16
cache fixed thanks to gracie7 + Mum

31-Jan-16
Went for a walk along the track. Doesn't look like track gets used much. Found the cache and sat in the sun for a while while we waited for the cache and contents to dry out. Once done replaced cache and continued along loop track back to car.

15-Aug-15
I thought we had a spare logbook in the car but when we got here we couldnt find it, so we had to leave a logstrip instead (still good for 50lines) and we will add a notebook for you while passing another time. We removed the old soggy logbook and wiped out the container. All good to go again Smile

04-Jul-15
Stunning day - tftc. Dropped off a tb. Log book needs replacing though.

Lovely evening walk to top of the hill. Ta

26-Dec-14
Luck had us chose the right way at the fork. The views got better as we went. The steep drops noted. At GZ we were careful where to put our feet, just in case. Just before, the big bush of rhododendrons was a delight to see in flower. Thank you Bitsprayer for placing this cache.

26-Dec-14
I enjoyed the lower part of this track through the bush but then we had to battle a bit further up on the less maintained part. The cache was easily found, just lying on the ground. When replaced we added a bit of natural camo but suspect the local wildlife might dispose of that soon enough. Thank you Bitsprayer.

I had been wanting to come over caching to Greymouth for a while, since I had never yet been caching further than the West Coast CANZ cache!!
Spur of the moment, a trip was planned, and I decided to head off on Friday after work. However realised we had monthly after work drinks! Ah, stayed for that then, and then left.

Started headed home this morning. Decided to find anything and everything along the main road back to chch - including a few detours, until time ran out.

Easy one along the way Smile
Enjoyed walk up - good to stretch the legs Smile

Consec caching day # 504

TFTC!! Smile

Heading to Greymouth with TheWanglers on a caching weekend. Stopping along the way to pick up a few....nice to knock off another. Didn't get the cache name...took TW pointing out the river (and naming it) for me to click. Not a coaster I. Nice one...Cheers.

Team_Gaters and I have planned a this trip over the last few months. We finally got to the business end of things and kicked off out West Coast raid. We had two days and a lot of boxes to tick. We started at 5am on Saturday morning and it took over 12 hours to get to Greymouth. We drove a lot, walked a lot and had a lot of laughs. We experienced 4 seasons and even contemplated aborting the mission as we were standing in icy cold weather freezing as the rain came pelting down in Arthurs Pass. We encountered matigouri, rosehips, blackberries, brambles, spainairds, baby gorse and old man gorse!!! Still finding parts of prickles in my skin! We also saw kea, weka, cave weta, tree weta, giant slugs, giant spiders in caves, west coasters, fat wood pidgeons, tui and a giant dragon fly. Had wet feet for nearly two days. Three FTFs and on of them was unpublished (first for me).
Quick jog up to GZ and what views. TG wonder why this was called "Terry Me Cow" and I said "There it is" as I pointed to the Kau.
Awesome weekend. TG and I joked that going back to work would be a bit of a let down, so to combat that we would keep one foot in a bucket of water and the other one on top of a pin cusion, that should ignite the memories.

Thanks for the cache.
