Found with Kiwimykl while on our southern adventure. Refer to his log for details.TFTC jimnycricket
Out for a drive with Starjammer while visiting the Deep South. Great views from the first stage, though a bit blustery. A quick find at the final to tick this one off before we head out of town. TFTC
Went on a drive with kellipls. Both spots were well hidden but relatively quick to find. TFTC
Visiting Riverton for the Heritage Harvest Festival again and so knocking off a few more caches in the area while I'm here.Enjoyable walk to WP1 despite cold windy drizzly weather - was at first alarmed and then entertained by some loud whooping coming from the little bay at the start of the walkway ... it was an elderly lady taking what was obviously an invigorating dip while her hubby snapped footage from the beach! (For anyone wondering, no, it wasn't a skinny-dip. ) Thanks to good hint I found the container fairly quickly and was surprised to discover the final was at a familiar place. A short trip and a short search later (again thanks to other good hint) I had the log signed and ready now to go find something for dinner. Just enough room to leave a cute little trinket here for another finder . Tftc.
Enjoyed the wander to the waypoint, though it was a bit windy. Straight forward find at the final, TFTC
With a day off from walking Te Araroa what do i decide to do? That's right, I decided the best thing to do was go for a walk. It's the only way I could explore riverton, to be fair.It was great to see the sights of riverton Rocks, and a real highlight was this multi which, thanks to its provided information in the description, gave me a greater insight into the history of the area and one of its founding fathers. The info I required was easily located and once I punched in the info I was surprised to see ground zeros proximity to a newer cache.. guess that one slipped past the reveiwers attention, though once I arrived and made the find I realised there is little chance of the cache's getting confused... far away to be kept safe and secure.Cheers go to the multi owner Jimmy cricket, I enjoyed this one, thanks.-- This log is trackable ! ---- Feel free to discover ---- Please mention, in which cache you've seen this code: ---- 3TABQX --
The three of us together ?? found this after watching black dolphins hunting in the waves. -- TFTC
A fantastic long weekend in the south with lots of caches! I am grateful to all CO's for keeping me entertained for hours!

Was a great multi to do today after riverton races and big night last night. TFTC
Out and about finding caches in the wider Riverton area, some solved puzzles and a mix of other types.
Thank you for the cache.
Thank you for the cache.
Main objective today again was logging solved puzzle caches and anything else on the way. It was a great day with even the tide cooperating. TFTC
Bit of fun doing this. Weather was kind to us. Took a bit at each wp but all good in the end. Tftc
Spotted a likely hiding place at WP1, visible from the right angle. Then it was back to an area I'd visited yesterday to collect the final. TFTC
A nice explore of Riverton. The inital cache was an easy find, but the final eluded us for a bit. Glad we found it in the end. TFTC
We made our way to the first stage & soon found the co ordinates for the second. Such a lovely place to park up & enjoy a picnic lunch while watching the waves crashing up. Then on to the final, another pretty spot where we'd been earlier today during our caching adventures. Another quick find for us here. Thanks for setting up this multi in a couple of great locations. Have a favourite point.
Invading Invercargill for a weekend of caching and 2 events.
This one was on our list before leaving Riverton and heading up and around, making our way to Invercargill for our first event...The GeoDuck Race.
Soon located WP1 and off to the final where the find was made just as quickly TFTC

Found the first wp after a bit of a search, then onto the final where the directions from the clue made for a quick find.
Thanks for putting this here

Like one of the previous finders waypoint one was awesome to walk to. I am unsure how the reviewer approved two caches near each other. We replaced the missing cache after there was no response from the CO wheia message was sent a month ago.
I found this cache during a Mum Taxi service.
Unfortunately they had to abandon their trip an a few hours into the walk due to sickness.
Two of my children are walking the Routeburne. So I offered my services for drop off at the Glenorchy end and am picking them up at the TeAnau end. I invited Jude_E along for company, so we'll be taking a few detours along the way.
Thanks for hiding this cache jimnycricket I appreciate it.

Nosynel and I are having a caching trip now after our taxi service for Routeburn drop off and collect became unnecessary due to one of the trampers becoming ill and them leaving the track.
I was here a few weeks ago, and like other cachers was unable to find a cache. Either the wp1 coords are incorrect or the final cache is missing. It does seem odd that the traditional cache close by was permitted if the older multi gz is correct. However, after not hearing back from the CO through the messenging service and them not accepting emails, I have decided to replace the cache as it is of historical interest. I hope this is okay. Cache is now a silver berocca tube in the location described by the original hint. Thanks.

Cache 748 after completing the near by PWGT cache I thought why not enjoy the sun and head up to the top of the point and grab the next set of coordinates for this cache. I got to the top of the rocky outcrop and started searching for the waypoint. My phone went to Om at exactly the described hint spot and no container I slowly broadened my search and was still having no luck after about 20mins I was ready to give up, as I decided to leave I looked sideways and spotted a container thrown into a flax bush about 10m from where it should be….. grabbed the container and luckily it was the waypoint, I copied down the needed information and put the container back where it was supposed to be. Back down to the car I went and off to the new GZ. I grew up out here literally living just over 100m from where the final was so I enjoyed having a look at the old house and then collected the cache. The cache was 1/2 full of water so I tipped it out but sadly the log book is totally soaked , I was still able to stamp it but it will probably need changed. T4TM
I am enjoying a little holiday in Southland and Stewart Island and today I'm based in Riverton and exploring the surrounding area. I loved the first location and was a little confused by the second having found another cache so close by, but I see this one came first. Tftc!
easy multi but glad we had 4wheels to get to final. log signed but very wet. dried as best we could. tftc
I have a weeks work in Invercargill. But what to do in the evenings? Today it was a drive west grabbing caches. Got as far as Clifden then turned back. Surprised to see where the final of this was but no issues with the find. Thanks for the cache.
Took the drive to WP1 took the obligatory photos and was very surprised at the location of the final oh well you get that i suppose . Nice way to finish off my trip to Riverton TFTC
After a bit of a break from caching I am catching up on my logging that I hadn't finished due to various reasons, mainly procrastinating.Down for a few days visiting rellies, a bit of a day out looking for caches with the father in law.TFTC jimnycricket.
Cool got this one snagged and tagged. One of the few multis I succeeded with. Cheers.
Tuesday 3 November. Off out exploring Riverton, Gemstone and Papatotara areas today. Beautiful clear blue skies start the day and a chilly 5deg. Brr.
Toby, Zara and I are on a 3 week geo adventure of Cromwell, Southland, Catlins, Balclutha with a day in Dunedin and quick stop in Timaru. With Lenny, my trusty navigator and TBD my companion/mascot. we managed to visit lots of green boxes, now happy faces with the odd sad one. Did some LABs , earth caches, virtuals and wherigos, all chucked into the mix to rack up 500 odd caches. Lots of kilometers, lots of exploring and lots of fun. Thanks to all COs for our wonderful experience.

We are travelling to Invercargill and decided to go along coastline to The Rocks; saw there was a multi there so had to give it a try. Found the first part no trouble..,just staying upright was the challenge, as it was so windy! Found the final in the place we’d stopped for our picnic. TFTC
On a geocaching trip with Bennett24 - it's now day three and we are travelling between Tuatapere and Tokanui via a few places of interest. This is our chance to get interesting southern caches and for both of us it was a chance to have a look around the Deep South.
This is our first trip to Riverton and I for one was very impressed with what a pretty little town this is. Even though the weather was pretty ropey for the beginning of Feb we can see why people love it. After a nice lunch we came out here to see the point in a howling gale where fortunately the nice sized wp1 was found and then off to the final. Nice find and easy here. Very close to another caceh we notice.
Thanks for the cache - all good here.

On a caching weekend to Otago and Southland with Tuolei to pick up old caches, TMGT's, CANZ, solved puzzles and any others that caught our eye along the way. We had a 4 day long weekend planned that would take us around Dunedin on the first day, Tuatapere via Sutton, Balcutha, Mataura and Winton on the second day, Tokanui via Riverton, Invercargill and Bluff on the third day and then back to Dunedin via the Catlins on the last day. Overall we did 1578km and picked up just under 100 caches and managed to knock off most of the caches we had on our list.
While at lunch in cafe in town, Tuolei had a look around to see what other caches were around to find. He noticed this one and mentioned it would be a good one to try so after we had finished we drove to the posted coordinates a few kms down the coast. It was blowing quite hard here when we arrived and we stopped to have a quick chat with a fisherman who was leaving due to the wind. Turns out that the fish in his box that we assumed was what he had caught was only the bait for the sharks he was after. He mentioned the largest Great White in the world spends a bit of time here, so we hoping not to bump into it any time soon.
Tuolei grabbed the first stage soon after making our way up the hill and then we took a longer ride than expected to the final. No problems spotting the hide which was a bit exposed. All good here, TFTC.

Back before Covid in January of 2020 I was lucky enough to go on a week long south island trip with GirlGuiding. We left Christchurch for a week of fun and with the help of Knotobsesed and more we found many geocaches around the south island. During our trip I was lucky enough to meet Ruru_nz who helped us with some caches. Since this adventure I have gained my own geocaching account and finally remembered to go back and log all of these caches. In the log books they would have been logged either as Forestq1(My family Account) or Epic Camp 2020 which was the name of the camp I was on. TFTC
Teaching some Girl Guides about geocaching so this turned out to be a perfect multi for them to try out after finding trads, virtuals and earth caches so far on our trip. Tf(a perfectly placed multi)C
A morning trip to Riverton before the family turn up. Easily found the 1st stage then off to the final.. hmm very close to another cache. A quick find tftc
Went down to the reserve and found the WP1. On the way out of town after a week long holiday I got the second part. A nice dry cache with lots of swaps.

Easter holidays, and a road trip to Milford Sound. Today we drove from Invercargill to Te Anau with a magic sunny and calm autumns day
Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers

My Mom's home town. She used to catch the train into town when the passenger service was running. A tempestuous day hugging the rocks with the Sou'wester blowing. Threw caution to the winds and popped back over after a couple of searches for the WP. Sidled over to final while muggles were fishing. Nice to find the big 1Lt con within the moment of arrival, swapping out a cute froggy for a cue ball [8]. The goods were noice and dry requiring only one of my white PVC baggies and popped cache back more hidden in the hide from where it was adrift. TFTC Dday
A week away down south and a chance for some caching. Was a nice and easy find this with the hopes of lots more.TFTC
Found on a beautiful Southland day - great spot for a multi- thanks for placing

#4852. I have been in Southland for a week on a work trip but all that time was spent in Fiordland. I now have two days off and time to grab as many caches as I can find. Hired a rental car and set off on the adventure in glorious warm, sunny, dry, summer-like weather. Parked and headed off along the track to locate WP1. Great views today of Stewart Island. WP1 took about 5 minutes to locate. I used the distance in the hint to sweep around and check suitable hiding spots and there it was, well tucked in. Plugged in the coordinates to the GPS and thought what the heck. That place looks familiar. Walked back to the car and drove off. Very surprised the final is so close to an existing cache. The reviewers of the traditional must have slipped up here when it was published. Anyway the hint soon had me in the correct spot. Signed the log and replaced the cache as found. My fifth multi-cache today - a record for me. Thanks for the cache jimnycricket.
With muggy hubby off on a motorbike ride I decided to skip the overdue housework and cross some more 'nearby' caches off my list. With any luck today's trip will see Riverton covered in smilies except for the earthcache.
Waypoint easily found, though be careful as the fence that was here has been removed leaving some vicious looking metal stumps that stick up about 6inches. Wouldn't want to stumble and land on one of them.
Typically there were 2 options for parking, and I chose the one with more walking. Still, a stroll along the beach is a change from the uphill climb of an hour ago.
Another cache in good condition.
Thanks for the smilie.

After watching the All Blacks this morning, it was decided we needed to get outdoors. Gardening, unfortunately doesn't give me a smiley face... a drive to Riverton for an icecream sounded way better. Around to the rocks for attempt number 2, and waypoint was a easy find this time. Aged fencing all gone now, looks way better. Final was a quick find too, thanks for turning a sad face into a happy one.
Second attempt for this one, waypoint was missing on the last attempt. Easy find on a windy spring day. TFTC
Exploring the area and headed out here to give this multi a go. Had the first waypoint to myself and a quick find, however the final coordinates were not quite what I was expecting. However the location looked good on the GPSr and made a beeline for GZ. No problems finding the good sized cache. Thanks for the multi.
Nice day for a walk pick up wp 1
Great view headed off to pickup final all in good order sltftc

Last attempt ended up with no success. Today it was quiet at the rocks. Good to see older caches are still active too. TFTC.
*WP was still in the place I found it originally but there seemed to have been some shenanigans afoot with it drifting from the opposite side of the beacon co'ods in 2016. The WP has been replaced by CO and I dropped the original mugglesheet into the 250ml box . I grabbed the 200ml for spares. ba n ebpx naq haqre n ghffbpx.* 08 Mar 16 Found Threw caution to the winds and popped back over. Were some difficulties locating the WP previously as I was stumped by the WP's size and the hints. A tempestuous day hugging the rocks. Sidled over to final while muggles fished from the rocks. Nice to find the big con within the moment of arrival, swapped out cute froggy. *Later there had been a little water in final cache, grabbed goods up in a PVC baggy and popped cache back more true in the hide after finding it a little adrift. Cache was noice'n'dry when I checked the final in Jan'17.* Good to go. TFTC
Box (200ml) at wp1 has been replaced at same coords., and hint edited to make it very explicit. Final checked and all good.
Finally got this one. Been looking for the wp a couple of times over the years. Looked at page description and used initiative by passed wp and went for final. A shag was on rocks nearby. There is No longer a style but a swing wire gate. Tftc
The wind was fresh... With one of is recovering from the man flu, and the other just getting it, we didn't want to hang around for too long, also didn't want to leave empty handed. 10 minutes was enough, couldn't find waypoint, we will be back when feeling better.
No problems finding the WP cache. Box was in good order and it got covered again. Someone has pushed the fence over since my last visit to the point. Found the final on way back to town and that's in good order too. SL swapped some swag and returned a bit more hidden in the hide. TFTMC
Just starting to get into these multicaches. This one was enjoyable. Beautiful part of the world here! Just magic! Thank you! Enjoyed finding this!
Couldn't find the first waypoint unfortunately. Had a good look around the GZ but no luck
Could not find the container & coords @ waypoint1, so unable to search for the final tried to have a good look, but my eyes were watering in the blustery wind while skating along slippery grass in my jandals
Still, enjoyed exploring this beautiful spot which we would not have found without the cache , so Thanks anyhow!

I found it after collecting some of the excellently coloured stones on the beach. They remind me of the Hokatika Gorge stones. Lovely colours. Walked up to WP1 and got the details then headed over to the final to pick up the cache, then headed over to the old cottage. Only caught a glipse of the cottage but could make out its shape, That Johnny Jones must of been a character, starting off these early pioneers heading off to the unknown. Thanks for the cache and history lession, its always interesting to pick up bits and pieces along the way TFTM
We walked from Taramea Bay to WP1 yesterday, then to the final today. Thanks for the cache.
Had a look at this one as darkness gathered. Was to be #6 on my Riverton hunt after work. I condensed the hints down too much ages ago when I programmed my GPS. So... with the condensed version I did not make the correct approach. Will have to come again and do it properly. My attempt does not warrant a DNF. It was blowing a gale up at the beacon.
18063 km from home we found this Cache while our holidays. Thank you very much for hiding and greetings from Dresden, Germany!
Great adventure for the little boys. Final cache quite a distance from the first
2 DNFs,so cache checked.Gone. Replaced and hint changed,so should be all good again.
hunted high and low and couldnt even find the first WP...leaving riverton tomoro, gutted I wont get to find this multi
Despite looking everywhere we thought the hint was indicating, we couldn't find WP1 so had to walk away empty handed. Never mind it was a nice stroll to the top.
