The cache container we found was unsigned called ANZAC by doggone. It was not a replacement cache but a new one ready to publish.
The cache has not been replaced, there is a cache that had been placed close by, it does not match the hint of under a rock, we found it a week ago the log sheet was blank and said Anzac by Dog Gond, it is not the cache hidden by rsllywrxwagon.
The found report below is not the actual cache "Shrimp on the Barbie", it's another unpublished cache at that location. This cache is not there, and should be archived to allow the new cache to be published.
Taking the long way around from Wallan to Sunbury, I stopped by this one. Like the previous searcher, I had an extensive look but came away empty handed. I think this one is MIA.17/10/12 10:58 Find #505
I spent up to an hr here as I dont like DNFs cos then I have to come back as I dont like it when they get the better of me,lol. may need some one to have a look.
Looked very hard around area suggested in hint & gps. However I believe the cache has been moved or the area become so overgrown it has gone missing. May need to be checked upon by owner or archived
Our first find!!!!! Good easy directions except for the bridge which is closed to vehicles.
Good little cache in a good little location. It seemed like it hadn't been opened in years and the logbook is running out of room. Thanks for this easy little find and scenic views. The gorse is crazy out there!
I think the council needs to get on about fixing the bridge, but luckily I happened to be on the right side of it - just makes for a dusty drive home.
Cheers Rallywrxwagon.

I knew the McCabe Bridge was out at Darweit Guim, however I went for an attempt, to find out which side of the bridge and found I chose the wrong direction to travell from. I will rectify this tomorrow when I head out caching again.
3.25 Out and about with 80 degrees today and the sun is out but not hot. What else could you want, but a list of caches to be done(created by Mrs 80), Mr X behind the wheel and the support team rearing to go.
We are on track and half way through our list. With the beast taking out so much of the walking time we may even get through them all.
The road to no where. Sign posted saying Bridge closed but we thought it was worth the gamble else it would have been a very long way round. Lots of nothing out here so it seems to perfect spot for a movie. Can't say that I remember the bridge scene but will look out for it next time. They just got it in time as it is not usable now. It seemed to be the meeting of all the village as the total of four people were out today. We saw the webs of the mites floating on our return
Nice easy find. Cache in good condition.
This was our 16th for the day.
Thanks for the cache/info.

Found at 3.25pm. Out and about today with xambo4u on a mission to clear out some that we hadn't had time for on previous occasions. Turned off to here hoping the bridge closed wouldn't turn us around - it didn't but only just Cache was quickly found and LS . TFTC
This cache has been taunting me almost since I began caching or going on it's placement date about a year after to be precise. Not all that far off the Hume, which I travel often, but a little too far to cause me to make the detour. Always just there on the list saying "come get me" every time I wander past. Today' as I happens' we had reason to go almost right past the cache on the way to a model areoplane competition in which our son was competing so I was very pleased to finally get this one off my unfound list. The nearby town is quite a quaint little place, well hidden in the valley and no doubt full of history too.
The bridge is closed and we were on the wrong side so we had to walk a bit but that was no problem. It wasn't far and it was a good excuse to stretch the legs a bit.
Thanks very much Rallywrxwagon

This is one of those caches that have been on the radar for so long that they've become fixtures. Anyway, today I was going to do something about some of them, so I was heading north and, generally, doing a great job of cache finding. However, when it came to this one, I started to get a bit nervous when I came to the turn off from the Wallan-Darraweit Rd and there were signs saying the Darraweit Bridge was impassable to cars. I wasn't sure whether this was going to stop me from getting to the cache or not, but I kept on going and was keeping my fingers crossed as I passed more signs - but the gpsr said I was getting closer too. I guess I was fairly lucky, as the road over the bridge was closed off when I had just 350m to go, but I was still able to walk across it and get to GZ for an easy find. I guess the bridge has been weakened by some of the big floods recently - I could see that the grass along the edges of the creek had been flattened for more than 50m at some spots within view from the bridge and it must have been an awesome sight!

Thanks Rallywrxwagon - sorry for the late log, I'm way behind with my paperwork

Hubby picking on me for chickening out. Lots of insects and tall grass. Buried a fair way under, I love it. Pretty bridge, there was a massive hare on it!

The second of two finds today with the other being a view over Wallan. Thought we would join the effort for the celbration of Geocaching on 10/10/10.
Thanks to a previous log we knew the bridge was closed but the walk only short - so we crossed the bridge looked for platypus in the river and found the cache.
Thanks for the cache!!!!

Had an unexpected but pleasant walk due to the closed bridge - very surprised that a previous finder DROVE round!!! What's the significance of the cache name? TNLN, Thanks.
4th for the night in the dark and in the rain. Had GZ pretty quick even with the GPSr playing silly games. I made the mistake of first going to the other side of the now closed bridge and had to take a 17 km detour into Wallan to get to it, but i was determined. Thanks for the hide.
A nice quick find whilst waiting for our afternoon flight to Tassy. Cheers Gav [5949]
My 2nd solo cache. I really enjoyed this as it was not to hard to find, although it was in a spot I would not have imagined it to be.
My iphone gps dropped out so I had use the navman in the car. great hobby.

This was our 2nd find! I could get addicted to this game. We feel sorry for the space soldier who has been in the cache since January 2007.
Found this one at 09:30 while on the way to our monthly bushwalk. I had known the name of this place for many a year but had never been here until today. What a quaint little spot (am I allowed to say quaint ?).

Found this cache on our Victorian Invasion trip with Steeba and The Rats. I suppose you could call this cache our official start point. This was found at 2:30 in the morning. It almost became our home for the night as there is a large home near the GZ that we almost drove into!
Thanks Rallywrxwagon for the cache.

Having been across the ditch recently, I was looking for the one-way-bridge sign.....Never been out here before, so took some time to enjoy a run around town. Thanks.
Our first cache! After driving around and around to find 3g signal close to the cache, we found it nice and safe. Then realised how un-prepared we were - being our first - having nothing to leave. So, we sharpened the pencil, left a note, and moved along. We'll get some stuff to trade, and get into this awesome fun activity!

Nice spot in the bush
We occasionally travel through Darraweit Guim as a short cut from Sunbury to the Hume Highway but this cache showed us a little more of the village.
A nice little bit of history for the film buffs that very few people would be aware of.

number 3 for the day with LEADSCOUT. nice country side you never really know what this country has to offer until you get out for a look.
We decided to take a detour on our way to Mulwala to check out this area. We enjoyed the scenic drive in and on this very hot day we were happy to be able to park close by. We headed off to the most likely location and after scratching around came up with nothing. We broadened the search a little and still had no luck. We deciphered the clue and then thought that couldn't be right as we had checked those locations. There was signs of a lot of water having rushed passed gz so we decided to follow the debris and we lucky enough to find the cache about 20 metres away sitting in plain view. Fortunately the contents were not damaged in anyway so we signed the log book
Took $100.

I wasn't aware of the cinematic history of the area, the old bridge certainly has a lot of charm about it. I must have been having a good day with the satellites too, this was one of the few times the GPSr sat on the cache and read 0m to go!

unsure what we did wrong but we were crossing rivers in the Trudi bus on the way to this cache and the words "I thought it was on a sealed road??" came up more than once along the way.
we did find it and the more obvious way back out on the sealed road!!

Fortunately, I didn't need to call on our legendary Anzac spirit to fend off the invading Gorse Spider Mites (I wish the little pests would hurry up and do their job - the stuff is everywhere !!) BTW will a kilo of prawns on the BBQ be OK. I'll let our US visitors bring the "shrimp". Took mondo. Left mini torch / carabiner / navy sticker. An interesting area. Thanks Rallyrxwagon.
This little cache has been on our radar for sometime. It has been a bit elusive as we have never been close to it until today and I almost forgot until D spotted it coming up on the GPS. There was some debate about the best way to get to GZ but I can admit that in the end that D was right! Cache found easy enough and we chose this spot to have a bit of afternoon tea. FOund @ 9:25. After a little mucking around back near Wallan with our GPS nav system taking us to non existent roads, DAVROY took control by looking at our maps and mading the decisions on which way to get there. Once there, a nice quick find. Thanks. TNLNSL

Had a quick detour while in Darrweit for work. Was greeted at the cache by a big furry huntsman (eeekkk!) but after some pokes with a long stick it moved on. Swapped some nail clippers for a sticker. Great Spot! I was very impressed with the bridge, but couldn't see any platypus. Thanks Rally!
I gather the shrimp reference is to Hoges as we didn't see any here.

G'day Rallywrxwagon,
We completed your cache today at 12:15pm as the third of fifteen on our Hume Highway Zig Zag Adventure. We crossed the Hume for the first time today to reach this cache. Nice to see these sort of places that we would usually bypass. This was the first of many of your caches that we would complete today. Thanks for our 7th Rallywrxwagon cache. We left Dak's Kansas Geocoin that has a link back to you we believe.
Kind Regards,

Although geocaching takes us to some very pretty parks and the like, it also directs us to country roads we would never travel otherwise.
Having started this journey in Riddels Creek, TomTom proved it certainly knows its way around the back roads.
Arriving at GZ we made another easy find.

Found by Mary & David at 1145. A picturesque spot. We'll have to watch that movie again. We were also very interested in the Gorse Spider Mite story and saw plenty of evidence nearby of its success. Thought I might be in for a chance to be FTF, but alas that wasn't going to happen today. Some 24 hours or so too late.
Nevertheless, I have never been this far west of the freeway in this part of the state. Some of the roads were a bit bumpy, but more than suitable for a 2WD fanging along at 90kph.
I was able to park very close to GZ and within a few seconds (after I ignored the GPSr) the cache was in hand. Very windy and quite cool at GZ today.
Took nothing, only left the TB SNOOPER.
Thanks Rallywrxwagon. Bring on more of the same. I'll be off to find some more of yours next time I visit the parents in Alexandra.
