Logs
Cache was a great spot what a walk and view needs a new log book and inside all wet unable to sign
Please could the next geocacher attending please bring a new log book or scroll. Thank you
My favourite geocache ever! Saw about half a dozen bronze whaler sharks feeding right off the rocks and 3 pods o
Wow what a view, and what a clamber down. Only yo be done in good weather. Today was gorgeous, but what a breeze. Hang on . Path could be slippery when wet, hang on to tree!!!Log book absolutely sodden. TFTCGreat walk around the head, whales etc
Thanks Ironbark for replacing the log. Nice walk out here today on an over cast day. Misty on the walk back making it cooler for the walk back.TFTC
Swell was up today so no boats out the creek. took the opportunity to walk out to the point and check the cache. The log was soaked so dried out the contents and installed a new log in a small clip lock bag and replaced the cache.Fabulous place with a few fishos on the famous Hat Head point looking for Spanish mackerel, cobia and bluefin but only a few tailor about. Had a couple of casts but the sea was too wild, so walked back along the headland watching the surfers catching almost kilometre long rides all the way to the beach from almost the end of the point.Cache all good to go again.Ironbark.
We took the walk to the top of tge hill but missed the turnoff and found ourselves out on the headland. Got to see a Manta in the water nearby. And a small shark. Wet log, signed as best we could. TFTC
I will be up there next week and will have a toddle out to the point with a new log.CheersIronbark.
Please could someone take along a new log book for this one as the existing is wet.
Found it Beautiful spot, closer to the cliff than we realised. Log book very wet.
TFTC ! The log was wet. We can't sign it. But we saw lots of kangaroos near the cache. Greetings from France
My fourth and final cache of the day.
Im up the coast for a few days to meet up with family and i thought id use the trip as an excuse to grab a few caches.
A lovely walk however as i was approaching the gz the clouds came over and it started to sprinkle. I thought i might get wet on my way back but got lucky and the rain passed by quickly without being more then a threat.
As mentioned by recent finders the cache and log were waterlogged.
I was unable to sign so photo as proof of find.
Thanks.

Perfect day for a walk, the track was overgrown and muddy in places but otherwise well maintained.
No trouble locating the cache, all is well.
Thanks for the cache

A new log book has been placed in the cache. Our thanks to Blacknwhite for helping out.
The cache container was three quarters full of water due to the torrential rain over the last couple of months. The log sheets inside looked like mashed potatoes and I did my best to dry everything out as much as possible.
New logbook added but didn't have a plastic bag to put it in.
Thanks for the cache and loved the views

Could the next geocacher attending please put in a dry log scroll in a plastic bag or replace container and log if convenient. Much appreciated.
Thanks for cache … an amazing spot with very rough seas today. Finally got kid off and cache was filled with water. Log book wet and will need replacing.
Late night find with Ronnie,
Log was really badly water logged we weren’t able to sign it, so we decided to add some swappables instead.

Spooky… This was worth the hike. Deciding to tackle this on a cold winter night, (not the best choice), cache was quickly located at GZ. A Beautiful and a majestic spot, and an older cache! Favourited for scenery and history.

Found this morning on a misty rainy day during our stay at Hat Head. Fantastic walk and gorgous views, thank you for placing! : )
Amazing spot. I mixed my log up with the one on top of the hill. Apologies!!! Both are amazing spots. I was grateful I wore my hiking boots
Slightly damp ensured lids were tight on and upright so water couldn't leak in.might be good to take a little paper log with you. Has already 1 replacement log but has since got wet too difficult to write on
After doing the connor track I decided to do the headland track. Got to this gz and found quickly. Lovely peaceful spot just looking out to sea tftc
A scenic walk (3.2km circuit). The cache was nicely placed at a scenic spot. TFTC
Awesome location, beautiful sunny winters day, gotta love Hat Head. Container contents were wet
TFTC! Geoworm found, although georhinobutt was close.geohorse and geocow were no where near. Beautiful spot will come again
A fave point straight up for this cache, enjoyed the walk and then soectacular views, cache in good condition and I dropped a traveller to continue its journey.

Awesome spot and a great hike out here. Lots of wildlife about - honeyeaters, parrots, dolphins, whales, even saw a school of mullet feeding just offshore. TFTC
I love this hike, haven't been out here for a while. I highly recommend, the views are spectacular. Found cache in a poor state, container is in good condition, log book however is soaking wet and unable to sign. I did sign and leave some paper in a zip lock bag, and placed the original cach back in the container.

Found with the X'es yesterday. An amazing view, well worth the hike. Log book very wet, might need replacing.
log very wet. Container in good condition just needs new log in water proof bag. Magical view!
Easy find today while the dolphins were swimming past and the sun was out. The paper inside was a little wet, but tried to sign the log as best as we could. Thanks for the hunt! Matt and Court
Thanks so much for placing this cache along this walking trail. What a magnificent view along this hiking trail. Whale after whale after whale were sighted all along this hike. Some precarious spots along the way which made this geomummy a bit nervous with the geokiddies. Geocaching with WrightatHolm is always exciting! TFTC!!
Hiking on Hat Head with Geelong Cats family. Gorgeous day and magnificent scenery with azure blue seas. SL TFTC it is a favourite and an outstanding location.
Nice walk along the sea, nice viewpoints all around. Quite an adventure to find it but such a great walk. TFTC !
Started off our day with the point walk. Was somewhat cautious about it having read some of the notes on it but turned out to be ok if a bit steep in one section and and well marked bit rough in patches track. Passed several non plussed fishermen who’d had an unsuccessful morning on the way in. The walk was absolutely worth it with spectacular views at the pint. So spectacular that I walked straight past GZ and ended up having to back track 100m to it. Log was slightly damp but ok. The unquestioned highlight was seeing a pod of at least 30 dolphins cruise past the point with some taking a chance to surf the incoming waves as they went. Amazing. Fav point for us for sure. Thanks for the great experience.
Cachecheca and I found this cache fairly quickly on our hike in hat head national park. It is definitely a very nice place for a cache and we enjoyed it a lot
We decided to do this cache first and on the way look out for the track to the one at the trig. A good distinct track to this but still didn't see that elusive trailhead we looked for previously and was hoping to find today. Anyway . . . the views were beautiful with the clearest blue water as we made our way to the cache. We passed a few people on the way but none arrived while we were at GZ watching the mesmerizing motion. The cache was well hidden but easily found and after a rest we left to find a way to You Can Leave Your Hat On. TFTC Liz and Bruce.
TFTC Thank you for going to the effort of hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity. Loved the location.
TFTC, great hike on a sunny but windy day, amazing views from GZ, deserves a F.P.
Flat battery in the car meant no fishing this morning so as promised ran out to the point and replaced the cache.
50cm from original hide but that option was no longer available. Still very close and well hidden.
Watched a guy catch a 15 odd kilo long tail tuna off the rocks too.
Happy hunting.

Looks like this one may have gone missing. If the next geocacher attending could replace it would be greatly appreciated. With thanks and kind regards Liz and Bruce
Looked around for a while and still couldn't find it. It's still a really nice spot to stay and look at the view.

Found with shabz72! Cache not in the base of tree, keep your eyes on the rocks near the tree!
Beautiful. I could sit here forever looking at the sea, watching the waves and listening to the surge. There were quite a few kangaroos on the way to GZ - the guardians? TFTC!
After checking the notes managed to locate the cache. Be very careful, there are drop off's everywhere and your a long way from help.
What a beautiful location! Thank you. Cache was not in roots of pandanus, but in a safe rocky crevice just below.
Found this the other day while walking the mountain with my extended family, introduced them to geocaching Was a little tricky to find but we found it
I think the container may need replacing soon as it is rusting and the Polaroids that are in it are faded. Also the trackable that us supposed to be there wasn't. Was fun to find though! TFTC!

Amazing views from this spot. For anyone interested if you go down to the rocks below the tree there is a memorial plaque with loads of flowers, really nice. We originally thought the cache was down there because we have a habit of not reading the description very well. Tftc
The Scrabsters enjoyed a lovely walk out to the point. Finding the cache was the highlight for the little Scrabsters. Tftc!
Firstly a few safety points about this cache. The walk to it's location is not for the faint-hearted. It requires traversing a narrow path at the edge of steep drops to either rock ledges or the ocean below. This is particularly true if traversing the trail in a clockwise direction to reach the cache. You should reconsider if planning to take small children. Much of the 3.2km narrow path has grass 30 to 60cm high on either side and you could easily place your foot beside an unseen snake in the grass. Wear appropriate clothing and footwear. The final approach to the cache, although only moderately steep, is a rock surface covered in small round marble sized stones making it easy to slip.
On this visit we found the cache but could only just touch the outside of the container as it was right in the centre of the roots of the tree mentioned in the cache description. For this reason the log could not be filled in. The next person visiting might need to take some small wooden sticks, perhaps 20cm or so long, with them when they make the final approach to the cache. Sticks like this can be found in the area as you walk to the cache.
Thanks for placing a cache in this amazing location. A challenging walk but well worth it.

Fantastic views and a lovely walk around the "Hat". perfect Autumn day, thanks for this cache
On holidays with Team Stoff and decided to do some caching. Unbelievable views if you take the whole walk. We located two caches with the same name one between two hard places and one at the base of ............ Signed both logs. Thanks for bringing us to such a beautiful place. The Gizmo's with Team Stoff. TFTC.
