I made another attempt at this one on my way home with no success. The owner did not respond to my email (sent a week ago)requesting a hint and they have not logged in to GC.com since 9 July 07. Due to the extensive rebuild work at GZ and the lack of interest by the owner, I recommend this one be archived. suzukifreak_1
My second attempt at this one and my only DNF for the trip. There has been a lot of new cement work on the "rock wall". In particular, one corner looks like it has been rebuilt from the ground up, plus a whole lot of other loose rock have been cemented back in place. The back wall has also been used as a toilet once or twice judging by the smell. Time to phone a friend.

Given the string of DNFs on this one, I'd suggest the owner should come check on it to see if it's even still there.
Dvixen and I spent quite a while looking for this one, and didn't come up with the goods. We poked into every nook and cranny we could find, too.
Still, the view here was fabulous, so it was worth a stop.

No luck today! I looked high and low, found 3 potential hiding spots but came up empty! I'll phone a friend before trying again. I was ready for a stop and loved the views so thanks.

Searched around the structure and a few potential spots, but alas, no booty. Enjoyed the view in the meantime.
Spent half an hour hunting all the possible spots hi and low. But not even a hint of a micro. Top look out. Maybe next time?
Today was our lucky day as all we found was micro's and not one not found.Helped to find with tourch light.

A winter weekend in the hills, Peedee, Kiddo and Fred searched in vain – a GPS would help to narrow down the location as Google maps are a little vague with these co ordinates – way too many places too look.
We have since checked the photos – what a little prize to find. Next time we will get you. (or we wont post LOL)

On a very cold and windy day my geowife and kids looked everywhere for this little micro.
Where are you hiding? Next time

Sorry to say I could not find this one despite three attempts and bringing the whole geofamily along with the promise of hot waffles to who ever found it. Almost made up for the offensive mess (see previous log). But even then no joy, so Waffles await another time. Still the spectacular views made the detour worth while each time!!
Top spot here checked all the usual spots but to no avail. Then just as we were getting another GPS reading the littlest Geokid comes running out yelling, I found it, I found it! and that he had. Shame the hiding area had been used as someones toilet on more than one occasion to! Yuk!

Found at 1015 on a bleek bleekheath day. Easy to find and co-ordinates were spot on. I didnt think that they came that big. Great views from an unmarked lookout, thanks josh-penny. SL, what else could you do.
I thought I had seen everything. This one really amazed me. Was hunting around till my GPS had another think and got me back to the right area. Not to hard to find in the end.
Our final cache for the day. GZ had us in the wrong spot until we thought about things more clearly.
Steeba then made the find whilst I was still stuffing around looking for an acurate GZ.
Cheers!

Last one for the day in the Blue Mountains which we went from top to bottom and found 18 caches.
When we eventually looked in the right place found fairly fast. Another spot I must have driven past so many times but never knew existed. Thanks.

Great spot, this is definately micro, but not too hard to find! Went out after getting back to where we were staying after being at Men's convention in Katoomba. (www.kcc.org.au) Then headed off to the pulpit, but bad light stopped play.
Didn't have a pen with us so couldn't log it.
Thanks

What a wonderful view. [^]
Thanks for bringing me to the GZ.
New log is a snug fit but works no problems.

After a good walk from the station I was rewarded with stunning views, magnificent cliffs and rock formations. This was my first cache find for today. It certainly is a small, micro cache, took a while to locate it, but persistance paid off. The 'log book' was full so I started a new one as I had some paper with me. Now I'm off to my next cache. Thanks for the adventure.
Stopped in tea eat my dinner on the way back to Orange. Then found the cache. Only one spot left in the log book.
7/9 for today found at 11.54am. Log filling up, only two spaces remaining when we left. While micro's can take time out of enjoying the site, this is a good place for one, and not hard to find. Any cache that brings us to interesting places or views like this are well worth it. TFTC
This one rocked our day! Such a great cache that is very satisfying to find. TFTH SL. The Crazyheads
HI, we loved this cache as it was fun to find and hadn't seen anything like it. TFTH
Last one for the day. On way home from Katoomba. Some nice little cliffs around to play on one day. Saw the shine off the cache from a few metres away so put it a little further in so it doesn't get muggled. SL
I was just checking as I am heading to the big smoke on Saturday. I thought you didn't like micro's Josh
wota lota rocka!!! Jeep Dog and I got dizzy running around and around, but after attempting all rock faces we finally conquered the task.
Thanks Acko
Thanks Acko
Great spot for a cache. I recognised the place when I got there from old black and white photos my parents took on their honeymoon. Easy find if you look in the right place.
TNLN. Thanks for the cache.

Found with outafocus. This is the smallest cache I have ever seen. Great Hide.
Found it at 1235 with jeanette from mick and jeanette, This is a truly tiny cache in great hiding spot took us a few goes around in circles to eventaully find it. great view.
Walked around in circles for a while before finding it where I wasn't expecting to. Another nice mountain view.
This one we would call a "NANO" instead of Micro ...
Quick find ..... thanks

Found quite easily and quickly in the dark and rain. Nice hide. We have been here many times on our way through the mountains.
Found it while trying to avoid the gaze of nearby abseilers. Getting the log to fit back in was harder than finding it.
15:35 HRS
When we arrived here my immediate thoughts were that “it could be anywhere!â€
In the end it only took Mrs Wing Nut 5 minutes to spot as we began to scour the area.
After completing the log we paused to enjoy the vista.
Thanks.

this would have to be the smallest cache i've seen . almost need the magnifying glass to find it.great lookout and location
3:00pm
Been here to abseil before, rain had cleared up and the fog was lifting somewhat. Easy find, signed the log and placed it back. The waited for Where's Wally to arrive.
The 4th lookout that looks over the road and hartley Valley I think has the nicest outloot.

It certainly is micro isn't it?
Met Team Webguy at this one. They had already completed this and took great pleasure in watching us scratching our heads over it.
Signed log which is starting to get full and returned it to it's place of residence.
Nicely placed but may have warranted a regular cache at a great spot like this.
Cheers!

Stopped here many times before, today was very quiet and I had the place to myself. Found it after the GPS settled down then spent 15min putting it all back together, bloody paperwork. Anyway the log is alrady onto the back so its filling fast.
Thanks
Thanks
Dropped in here while out for a drive...
The bad news was that the place was full of people abseiling. Tried to wander around looking inconspicuous, but it just wasn't gunna happen. [:p]
We'll come back another time for this one. I'll bring my harness next time. If I can't cache, maybe I can abseil!?
Thanks anyway for bringing us to a fantastic spot that otherwise we would have driven straight past!
For other visitors; While you're here be sure to check out the National Engineering Landmark Monument to the great engineer Sir Thomas Livingston Mitchell who made this passage west possible!

Didn't realise this was a micro at first and were wondering how the hell they'd hidden a box here and why the hell couldn't we find it!!! Looked at the notes again and saw the M word and it all became very easy then. Very nice lookout.
Nice place, but could probably agree with Tangles that it really does deserve a full (Small) cache here, just a little bit away from the real cache location. Having said that, It was a great, but easy to spot, hide in a lovely area.
We have been past this spot about a billion times and never had the idea of what was here! Pretty glad we went for a look as it is another top view of the moutains.
Although it's only a micro cache it is hidden well and should come to no harm, This style of hide brings out a large can of worms!Micros in the wide open spaces, We think it is not the size that counts(small is good because they dont fill with maccas geocrap) it is the finding that counts.
So be it, it was a micro that bought us here, Bargain we found it, With not a bit spew in sight!!!! Top spot, good hide.

I was feeling slightly reflective after this trip and thinking about the changes we have seen in the last five years of caching.
The Micro Cache
Being the first cachers to find a micro in Australia we look back at the changes on placement and use of this type of cache. The micro originally came into existence to be to be placed in areas where a traditional cache would be impractical, such as city centres.
A micro cache can be a real work of genius, when the person placing it does some forward planning and does a bit of work just like a real cache.
Unfortunately micro caches seem to used more these days for padding the numbers of the hiders and the finders and has led to the term micro spew. It may be an easy way to inflate your stats but what experiences will you remember in 5 years when you look back. There are some fantastic caches placed in breathtaking locations in Australia you have no idea what you are missing out on by playing the stats game.

Found this one at sunset and it was a magnificent spot to just sit and watch the sunset. We have driven past this place so many times before and not stopped and what a shame as it is a real treasure. Nice hide Josh-Penny, keep up the good work.
