Final call. Going once..., going twice....

07-Jun-09
Still looking for a suitable spot but track maintenance prevented a new hide.

05-Apr-09
Time to shift this one as it looks like the locals have been dumping their garden rubbish on top.

27-Oct-08
Nice bushtrack, but no luck with the cache.

14-Sep-08
Looked around for a while but no luck- how hard is it to find a 7 litre container! Perhaps didn't shift enough Winter debris. Will try again another day.

28-Jun-08
Couln'd find this one this morning (due to the weather conditions?)
Will try it again on a sunny day.

31-May-08
Our first cache of an Auckland Raid. Nice large cache to start with.

02-May-08
We liked this one for it's share size. We unfortunately didn't bring anything fluffy. Still good fun finding it.

23-Apr-08
We were on a tight time schedule and thought this would be quick. It possibly would have except that we had a preconceived idea of where it would be, and wasted a lot of unneccesary time searching in the wrong place a couple of metres away. With 2 minutes to go until we had to leave we had a rethink, and then bingo - found it straight away. Took the fluffy duck TB and SL TFTC

19-Apr-08
great theme. Ryan Sarah's favourite so far.

12-Apr-08
Found after a couple of steps of bush bashing from where the GPS sent me. Nice sized cache alright. Dropped off a fluffy chicken TB in keeping with the theme. T4TC.

27-Mar-08
You have some nice fluffies in there.
A good find.
Thank you

22-Mar-08

Ah yes looks like the locals are using the area as their green disposal point but the cache is still there, and in good order. TFTC

Errrrr red face flushed with embarrassment.... a month ago TK went out sans GPS et avec a backpack full of fresh fluffies but was unable to find the goods... after reading Glynns log it seems the landscape is somewhat changed "-)
Tres embarrassement

06-Oct-07
Nice wee walk in to find a huge treasure chest!--well it seems that way after all the others today. I still bear the scars from trying to shift the pile of dead trees which were cast over it, by accident I'm sure! Thanks for this one--took NLNSL

#32 of 44 for today.
What a weird place for a TB Hotel! Not much traffic thru here...been a while between visits. Cache in good nick though the bag was holding a bit of water but all good. Love these bags! TFTC

15:40 - Quick find after following Arthurs (Rogers Dad) idea of where the cache might be. Think we have a new cacher in the making. Great little walk from the carpark. We did this one after we did the Tahuna Torea Conservation cache. Glyn found some new head gear for work tommorrow. Thanks for the cache.

This cache has been found by us before. We are travelling overseas and came to collect any TB's that needed a lift to new destinations. Cammo bag was full of water (no big surprise after last weeeks rain)but otherwise cache is still in very good condition.
Out - Nil, In - Cell phone cover, Took Chu Chu TB and Super Cacher Geocoin
TFTC SL

17-Jun-07
Certainly is spacious, if a little empty at the mo, however we have done our bit to rectify that!

JC and AC have often talked about aproaching this one from the water, AC for the fluffies, JC for the water, but now that we have visited it, it is clear that a land approach is far more suitable.

- Apollo & Donkey Game
+ EEyore & supercacher Geocoin & Chu Chu TB

A bit further of the track than expected and darkness falling so had to look hard to find this one.

Nice to see a big cache. Not many around in the Auckland area.
Cache was a little further from the path than we expected but still caused no problems... Smile
Picked up Legolas TB that Wonderstuff had left (and no, you hadn't signed the log!)
Left Apollo TB

Came in at slightly the wrong angle, but forged a path to the bridge. Saw a few stumps at GZ, but as soon as we spotted the big one we knew we where in the money!

Never seen a "jacket" for a cache like this one. Very impressive. [^]Where do you buy them? Or do you make them? As the afternoon went on, I was to see more of these nice cache jackets.

In my haste, Im not sure if I signed the logbook, but I have put in a tb to prove my presence Cool

Thanks for the cache. I have never been to this area, so thanks for bringing us here.

+ TB ( LOTR's)
+ bath soap

- Nothing

04-May-07
Nice to find such a big cache, even if there were worms all over the camo! ewwww! hehehe
We didn't have any big swaps to put in but we left a CFA (Victorian fire service) sticker and a blue necklace. We took the Sand Dollar to keep it on it's journey.

08-Apr-07
Another lovely view. Took penguin but sorry can't remember what we left. Thanks

24-Feb-07
Easy find after a pleasant walk; yet another spot close to home that would probably never have been found if it wasn't for geocaching.
Out - Jeep TB. In - Police Car
SL T4TC

19-Feb-07
Found pretty easy... other than some local has decided to drop some trees ontop of cache.... works well for camo tho!!!
droped in jeep and sand dollar coin.

11-Feb-07
Quick, easy walk from last cache site to here. Took the 2006 Mississippi Geocoin, to placate the grumpy, YuGeo4 junior team members, who were disappointed that there were virtually no more suitable fluffies to choose from. Sorry that we had nothing to trade, will take geocoin to a nice new home.
TFTC. #62

04-Feb-07
Definitely our largest cache find so far. An easy find, the tricky part was avoiding the council workers who were clearing the track. Out with the weird green guy and in with the mississippi geocoin. TFTC.

Good to see some nice big urban caches - a pleasant surprise and a much needed home for travel bugs. Cheers Gav [1035]

Supersize me! Whoah! Just as we were ready to start "discovering" the TBs - we realised there were none there! Sad T4TC

28-Jan-07
Cool place Smile
Descovered by one of my frends falling over the logs ontop of it Smile
+ penguin toy

27-Jan-07
A new track to explore - pity council don't maintain it better. Cache location was a bit obvious, tried to make it a little less so on leaving, with a few leaves. TNLN, cheers

21-Jan-07
Only had the co-ords on the GPSr, no log sheet or hints. But Adee and I found it anyway. All is in order.

In: Bendable Lion.

Out Wee Puppy with bone.

Thanks for the hunt.

20-Jan-07
What a nice little bush walk. We found out the hard way not to take a pram, heh heh. There was a little bit of water in the camo bag, so replaced it with the opening side a little lower.

+ orange braveheart carebear beanie
- possum beanie

28-Nov-06
A nice spot with a nice sized cache, was the 3rd find for the day.
Found after a good search, nice camo, had me fooled for a bit. Was well hidden.
Cheers

11-Nov-06
A nice day out caching. Lots of wind the week before had blown down plenty of debris. Cache secure and dry. A good hide. Nice cover!!! TFTH

06-Oct-06
Found it on a sunny but windy Auckland afternoon. Started off heading in the wrong direction up a suburban street when we decided to recheck the co-ordinates in the GPS and yes, had entered them incorrectly, sending us 500m in the wrong direction. Once this was sorted it was a nice walk along a bush path and the cache was nicely concealed but relatively easy to find. This is a very professional cache, a credit to its creator. Well done. Picked up a travel bug 551181, nice.

05-Oct-06
Looks like this Hotel needs a travel bug.
(+TB).

03-Oct-06
What a great place to hide such a big cache. We really enjoyed the walk and the finding. Garry is getting a little annoyed that I am the one to always find them! The mini-mes enjoyed choosing from this cache. The smallest mini-me had to test the ball she chose by throwing it - so I got a look at a lot more of the surrounding bush than I'd planned on! The ziplock containing the logbook split a bit and we had no replacements sorry. We added some ziplocks to our caching bag when we got home. The camo bag was full of water but the box snug and dry.
Thanks

14-Sep-06
Found it with no trouble on a nice day.

Took Pooh Bear
Left Sponge Globe (not quite fluffy, but I'm sure it'll be ok)
Toy soldier

Thanks

13-Aug-06
Has it been misplaced or has my GPS misplaced me?

29-Jul-06
Third and final for today. This must surely qualify as the largest cache container in the Southern hemisphere, suitably attired in an attractive outfit of a most becoming style and material having a blend of forest colours arranged in a rather fetching abstract motif.

27-Jul-06
My first cache with some real exercise since my op in June.Went in from Kotae Rd.Took a few minutes to find while gpsr settled.
Nil in Nil out.
Tb Dead Head Bear visited.

Cheers TK

23-Jul-06
The camo worked almost too well. I was going to walk on the cache box, but a second look told me that I shouldn't.
Thanks for the cache!

23-Jul-06
Maxrotax and myself off for the 3rd one today.
Parked a bit far off the location and had a nice walk down part of the track that we hadn't walked before.
TNLNSL.
Thanks. Smile

22-Jul-06
Enjoyed the walk in the winter sunshine. An easy find. Left a Kiwi slang dictionary previously taken from a cache.

22-Jul-06
10.35pm. Camo worked very well in the dark, took a little while to get our hands on it.
Didn't have any TB's as we had dropped them in caches earlier in the night. Sad
TNLNSL.
TFTC TK.
Cheers M+S [:O)] (343)

08-Jul-06
Just could not resist this cache - it's been calling me since it was placed. And even better - a funky chicken TB, which is now on a journey south. Left a Puppy toy, and a farmyard sheep, sorry no fluffies on me today (I may have to return!) Easy find.

08-Jul-06
Radionut50 found this one while Butterfly Lady and I watched on.
In - sheep
Out - Bone carving
Thanks for another great cache

01-Jul-06
I was shocked to see the state of this cache. "A Box of Fluffies" and no fluffy TB's! That needed to be fixed quick smart. Dropped off the Funky Chicken to solve the problem.

18-Jun-06
What a pity I placed a large TB the other day by having to squashed him in. Here he would have had enough room even to swing his tag. Cheers, TK, for placing large cache containers. We need more of them instead of those little 200ml ones.
TNLNSL.
Cheers for the cache.

13-Jun-06
Cool spot TK - thanks so much now we have somewhere near home where Bagels can have a walk Smile

08-Jun-06
1st cache on this Auckland trip. + Jetsons Boy Elroy TB. – Harpic Truck TB.

04-Jun-06
A bit of a soggy old day but at least there was no muggle problem. This is the biggest container that I have seen placed for a while so stacks of room for all those extra large TB's!! Thanks TK
In: Bone carving necklace, Out: toy binoculars
Edit: Fixed found date

We found an alternative entrance that didnt mean a big climb up a staircase and not far to walk.
Easy enough find

28-May-06
I thought about a night raid FTF the night this cache was placed but decided it was too far away. Today I was not so far away and now Short and Steep beckoned also.
TRhe sun was shining as I ambled along to this cache I had loaded a variety of co-ordinates so did not start looking in earnest until I was in the middle of the cluster. And there was Tramper Teds muddy path leading right to it. Of course I have found enough of T,Kitten's cammo specials to know what to look for as well.

TNLNSL OH and I left the "Dash Just Inqwedible" TB it so hard to find spacious lodgings these days. He wants to travel West.

Oh and I spread several armfuls of leaves to somewhat hide the muddy path.

T4TC

Quick and easy find. Almost too easy to follow the mud trail to the site.

Quick walk along path before going to pick up the wife from the airport
No rock near by ?? but was able to find
Took TB Scotty out to near the airport.

Whoa Hoo!
Beat the old man to this one. He was floundering around by this really stinky plant that was doing my nose in seriously.
I was hanging loose outside the smell zone when I noticed a brick that said this way. Found cache and man was he humble - Ya!
Took soft toy - cute!

Second attempt this weekend and it wasn't looking much better. GZ indicated by Sp8sm8s coordinates had a feature that fitted the clue but no luck aftern 20 mins of searching. Then Van Helsing called out from about 15-20 metres hey here it is. And it was! [My GPSr said the nearest point on the path was S36 52.437 E174 52.724]
Left TB, took Skunk - kinda cute. TFTC

21-May-06
I didn't have sp8m8's or St. Ouens coords to guide me, but found without too much bother anyway. My niece would have loved this cache! Just as well she wasn't here as I didn't have anything to swap - left all of it on Mt Doom Surprised.
Thanks for another good size cache TK - M@

20-May-06
B****R! 0 out of 2 this afternoon.
I'd encouraged Van Helsing away from vampire thrashing on the Playstation for an afternoon's geocaching. He said, "let's do the easy ones" - Ha!.
Followed the corrected co-ordinates with Scotty TB in hand - (he's kinda fluffy) and set off from the car - only a couple of hundred metres - but whoa that's out in the water.
Went back and tried the original co-ordinates given that Xena Commander had found it. Used the clue, found the article refered to, worked through the bush, saw what HAD to be what the clue refered to, with another bloody great flax bush next to it.
I said,"TK camo is brilliant so we'll have to look real close to find it". Thrashed about in the flax bush then gave up and headed home tail between legs.
Cheered up after Ice Age 2 - now on sugar high after massive coke and ice creams.
Clearly I was not wearing suit-able apparel!!!!Wink

20-May-06
Went back to GZ to check coordinates for TK after sp8sm8 was reported to be floundering in the mud...!! Was nice to see the area in the daytime.. I usually hunt at night around here..!!!
The new coords are ok.. you just need to let GPS settle in this area. But keep to track.
Grabbed German TB for log... replaced...
cheers.

Thought about a FTF run @ 7 30 last night, but when mapped it didn't look right, so sent an email to TK and decided to wait and see. Up this morning and see new coords posted, so off I went, stopping for a couple of others on the way.
GPSr was pointing a fair distance off track so used the clue, had a quick search and decided clue could still mean where the GPSr was pointing. Turned out it was pointing in the mud about 10m from a sea wall. The area around the top of the seawall was quite disturbed, so started searching. After a good 25 minutes I was very ready to give up and in despiration rang TK. She soon had me with the cache in hand, right where I had first had a quick look. I am sure I must have stepped over the cache at least twice, damn camo coats. Took a series of fixes, the best of which I will post above.

TFTC TK, its a great spot, even down in the mud.
-TB miss piggy, +TB NZ to germany

Claimed the second to find prize of a camo pouch

Got the Posting notification just as the Rugby was starting... ZG is obviously not a fan... or he was trying to throw me a curve ball... But I wasn't going to let the.pud get in before me...
Xena was home in garage so piled into KiwiAV8A's car with TK shadowing and head off...
It's just not the same caching in a car..!! I feel guilty.
Found the track and found the GPS coordinates were pointing way off track.. so figured I had to rely on hints to zero into GZ..
Nice spot and nice cache which was found in joint effort with kiwiav8a...
Dropped in Miss Piggy TB and calling card.
Out... nothing.
Wonder what TK has in mind for FTF prize......
Cheers TK

It seems everyones GPS plays tricks on this spot, Etrex and GPS60 differ Bluetooth same as GPS60 BUT these coords put m@ out in the mud. Something odd going on here
Trying again.....
The hint is a must
