A nice hidden location that didnt take us too long to find. We enjoyed the additional questions too, thank you!
Found it on a ride. And easy one! Thanks for placing in the fawk of the tree!
I'm 1.8m tall and could easily reach up to get it but shorter people may have trouble. Nice historical spot thanks and the hotel must have been quite an undertaking to build in this remote location. Thank you.
Our day for mooching around Hanmer and doing some of the local caches today. Good start here, though it was commented that a long reach and strong fingers are definitely an advantage. Cache is all good. TFTC
Found it pretty easily but it was a bit tricky to get out (needed a taller person!).
Found it during bike trip aroud Mt Isobel. Logbook is full, needs a new one. TFTC
Tftc great hiding and clue, needs new paper, didn’t have any on us but managed to sign
Nice spot Just had two days cycling, swimming, camping in town.
Paper needs replacing

Great reading the information and plaques at this spot. Who would have thought that you could rest your way head here or get a cold ale! Cache had me baffled for a while until I read previous logs, shortly after cache in hand, log signed. TFTC
Great to turn this blue face into a smiley. A nice easy find after reading previous logs. TFTC.
Dropped off TB. Found after a short hunt. Logbook pretty wet, sadly unable to sign.
One of several older caches looked for in Hanmer this visit (unfortunately, we DNFed one). We arrived at GZ to find another car already parked nearby, plus a couple of people out and about, so were relieved to find that they were also looking for the cache, and it was their first cache .
After a bit of pfaffing around, and realising from previous logs that the hint was no longer applicable, StreetWalkerNZ found the cache at the base of the hint object. Phew! Good to meet the newbies and I hope they continue to geocache. TFTC.

#21416. Initially I searched on the wrong place, but then I heard recent logs indicated I needed to be looking lower (under rocks). Took a while to spot the right one. Great to meet the Järvi12 team at GZ. TFTC.
Thanks for bringing us out here. Interesting place. We aren’t sure what a falk is though. TFTC
Out for a drive to familiarise ourselves with the area before making plans for the rest of our time down here. There was a vehicle parked up here when we arrived but he left shortly after. Took a while to find this one as it's not in a tree, fork or otherwise. Managed to access previous logs and gathered a hint from them as to what and where to look, so back to where the GPS had us as close to GZ and soon found the required object and not long after the cache. tftc
I had a quick look for this on Friday as I headed over the Pass, with a bit more time today I stopped for another look, the hint is not accurate and I spotted something worth checking and there it was. TFTC Satchmo Cat

I love this geocache, it was fun to find but a bit challenging at the same time! Thanks!
Found it after a bit of a look. Hint didn't match and got it after reading previous finds.

We are warming up to climb Mt. Isobel by finding few caches around here. Had no trouble in finding this one. TFTC.

Enjoyed a couple of hours bike ride today while staying at Hanmer while on our July tour of the South Island. Thanks Satchmo Cat for the cache. Read past logs to work out I needed to find a rock at ground level. After trying to climb the tree
Great drive over Jollies pass then back over Jacks pass with some caching on the way.
An interesting piece of history. The hint no longer matches and so I went looking for the rock as mentioned in previous logs. I eventually gave up on that and as I stepped away my foot stood on something solid. I dug around and found the rock and then found the cache. Yay! Thanks Satchmo Cat. Coords still accurate.
In Hanmer for a week of work and this was my day off so took to the Jacks/Jollies loop. Jollies pass is just as I remember it 20 or so years ago, lumpy, bumpy and very rutted. Such fun coming down. Stopped here, read a few past logs and did the search at the right level to get it.
Found after having a read of previous logs. We first saw a rather large rock that had been moved as we approached but that was a red herring. On closer inspection of the tree, lower down, we discovered another rock and soon recovered the not so well camp's cache. Beautiful and peaceful area though, just lots of sandflies today.
Great location, TFTC, sorry for late logging just playing catch up with last year's caching
Not at the tree indicated by my calculations nor in a tree fork but was under a rock.
Tried to drive up the pass ,but too difficult - must remember to bring the tractor next time! TFTC
A good start to the day with Campmotherandken today as we head off to look for some caches. Had to google falk also but it didn’t help us make the find TFTC
Found while biking the 25km Jacks-Jollies passes circuit.
The climb up Jack's Pass was tough for me, and the drop down Jollies was intense fun.
This cache took me a while.
The hint is no longer relevant, and my GPS wouldn't settle down in the trees.
I eventually got there by reading earlier logs.

Haha we had to google what a falk in the tree was. The kids had great fun!!
A quick find with Tregearp as we took a couple of days out to complete a long overdue desire to drive the Molesworth Road. This was the last cache of Day 1 of our road trip. Cache was quickly located with all in good order. Thanks Satchmo Cat for the cache .
SJT_NZ and I are enjoying a road trip down the Molesworth Valley, this was a quick find thanks Satchmo for the cache all in good order.
Had no problems finding it, as someone else said though, we weren’t sure how it was ever fork in the tree (or falk as it said in the hint)
A late afternoon find on our first full day in Hanmer Springs. Quick find, cache is in good shape. TFTC.
Searched for ages with no luck and the only thing I found was a dead possum. Went back to my car to get my glasses so that I could read previous logs. Went back and with the new information it was a quick find.
I'm out doing a bit of exploring while staying in the area. I'm not sure how that was ever in the fork of the tree because there are no forks low enough to be of use.
It's very dry out here and a lot of the tracks are closed due to fire restrictions.

As per another log, was found under a rock. Last dot day for the month done . Tftc
Took a ride out to Hanmer for a walk and some caching. This cache was a quick find. An interesting historical spot. TFTC.
Found at GL under a rock! Found with Coconuts3 on a couple of days in the Hanmer area.
Perhaps this has been relocated by someone?? However, TFTC

In Hanmer Springs for a couple of days with Busy paws. The hint had us stumped here untill decided to look further and found under a rock. Thanks for this cache on the start of our adventure Satchmo Cat.
# 1757 Undertaking a bit of a raid on the top half of the south island. The main intent is the geotour caches with the base of operations here in Hamner Springs. Undertook a bit of a clean up operation on easily accessible caches around here over the day off.
This was the sixth of the day. A quick jaunt as far.down this road as I braved in my Ford fiesta. A thorough inspection of the most obvious item revealed nothing so out comes the GPS and ok, its over there. A quick find compared to many others here. Cheers Satchmo Cat for this one. Enjoyed the info panels near by of how this road got its name

We're in Hanmer Springs for today, and my wife wanted to shop before a trip to the pools, so the lad and I hit the roads and trails for a quick cache decathlon before lunch. With only one DNF we managed 10 finds in some pretty nice areas.
We were concerned about the fresh DNF, but had a look anyway, following the hint initially. We were about to call it a DNF when I decided to just trust the GPS and was rewarded with the cache. Don't trust the hint, look lower..... very low.... TFTC!

Trouvée après une petit pause pique nique bien méritée !! La cache était sortie de son emplacement mais nous l’avons remplacé au vu de l’indice et du PZ en espérant ne pas s’être trompés ! MPLC
A pleasant drive to this one and no problems finding it, thanks to a noticeable geotrail. It was actually at ground level and left it there (with some cover) as it is likely to fall down again anyway. Satisfying to visit such a long standing cache, thanks Satchmo Cat.
We stopped here to see the hotel remains and discover how busy Jollie's pass used to be. It's impressive how the road network has developed and how easy we can get from A to B... Both the logbook and container are in good condition. Thanks for placing this cache here. We are visiting from Christchurch, our new home town, we moved here from Canada one month ago. We enjoy geocaching in "winter" so much! Even if it's a bit cold, nothing to compare with Canada...
