If the cache is still here can it be reactivated/adopted out please?

13-Jun-08
I would have to check and see if it is still there. I do not recall going to this one to pull it out. If I remember in my travells I will drop in on it.

Matto.

I offered to adopt it in January but my offer was not responded to.

Found at 4pm today, without a GPS. How did I do that? About two years ago, my two young nieces Belinda and Brylee who live very close by, found this cache by accident. This is their local park and they play here and walk their dog Scarlett almost every day. On several occasions they have found this cache exposed, at least once many metres away from its hiding place, and they have carefully restored it to its proper location. They knew what it was because I had told them about caches many years ago, and they have wanted to show this one to me but we have never gotten around to it.

Well today was the day. My wife Pam and I were visiting my sister to return a salad dish she had left with us on Christmas Day, and I remembered this cache and asked the girls to show it to me. We all went for a quick walk and found the cache, and I signed the log. There was only one swap in the cache, and I had nothing to swap, so after signing the log, I carefully hid it and we departed.

Since I am in a position to maintain this cache through my nieces, I am happy to take it over.

02-Dec-07
Unfortunately due to many circumstances I will be disabling all my caches. My work and other committments have not given me the time to check on or maintain my caches neither has it allowed me to complete any caches.

It does not mean I have quit caching all together. I will still do a few from time to time..

Sorry if this inconvieniances anyone. If anybody would like to take over the cache please email me at [email protected]

Yours
Matt B

Quickly calculated the coordinated before Luck Dog had broken all the rules, then headed off to find the cache, Luck Dog decided a long run was in order and headed off in the wrong direction. Cache was quickly found.

Thanks

We tried for this cache a couple of months ago - without success. Having seen that it had been recently replaced, we decided to try and find this one today. The GPSr was left in the car because we already knew where GZ was! Mrs38 spotted it instantly as it was partly exposed! TNLN & SL at 1:10pm. We concealed the cache a bit better when we replaced it. Thankyou!

This was my 15th and until Koomba walk returns my last for a while in this intriguing series that has been on the go for me for 9mths. Thanks to XF King for restoring the caches too. TNLN

11-Jun-07
I seem to be having a bad run with this series and I'm always wary of a cache dormant for 6 mths. I had Oenze with me and he had found this before so after verifying coords and a good search at GZ we walked away empty handed and unhappy. Thanks anyway XF King.

looks like my caches are biting the dust everywhere.. I'll check this out soon..

31-Dec-06
6:57pm - my last cache attempt for the year. After a number of successful finds at a couple of other caches before this one, I was on a roll. Found what I needed, did the maths (now there's a trend eh XF KING?), and went around in circles for a bit. I thought I knew where it was but discounted it. Shame on me! I went looking elsewhere when I should have trusted the "geoforce". Found the cache safe and well.

Took: strange looks from a muggle lady walking her dog. Left: my thanks in the log. Cheers. Another good hunt XFK.

17-Dec-06
The place was almost deserted except for a lone man and his big black dog. We found the clues and headed towards GZ. The cache was exposed but we logged it and re hid it at 1000 hrs. Watch out for the man with the black dog, he is friendly and he knows what is going on, but is wary of strange people in his park.

With a little bit of time left before the start of our walk (in this heat, 35° C and climbing Surprised[?]), I proceeded here, collected the clues and headed for the final GZ.

The heat and time factors meant that a judicious use of the hint was in order Red Face and I quickly had the cache in hand at 10:35.

TNLNSL, noted clue. Thanks xf king.

I am a new member, this is my first cache that i have found, easy find but nice to confirm that I can do it as tried previously on cache near somerville but did not read log throughly until after atempt or I would not have bothered as caches had been destroyed/perished(she's apples-GCT0DE, piglets tawny pals-GCT5EM)
contents of cache:
black pompom, army figures and note book with clue to another cache.

28-Nov-06
[found it with my school geocaching elective. i put my normal name not my username because i forgot. also i didnt write that i took out a doggie toy and put in a pompom. sorry Sad. but i just wanted to say thanks for showing me a nice park. there were a few young kids around so we had to pretend we were just looking at trees and rocks and other things after we found the cache. i dont think they really saw us. always hope to find more of your geocaches soon Smile]

Found our 4th cache in Melb!
Found too easily in fact, as with prev entry, there is some local muggles checking it out and writing in the logbook.
Great to have parks like this in suburbia. No bombs found either. Staying nearby, so went for a drive for some local cache.
Left a patch TNSL and grabbed the clue for 'Sweet 16' for next time we are in town.
Thanks xf king

Found @ 16:25. Did the calcs and walked towards the GZ. Spotted the cache before we got there was it hadn't been re hidden and once there found the lid open. Appears as if some young kids have found it and have added a few daily entries to say there looking after it. Think they'll need to do better if the cache is not to be muggled. Anyway, retrieved the info and stashed the cache.

Dear XFKing,

We found your cache today ar 11:25am as the first of eleven on our southern suburbs afternoon. We have had this cache as the closest on the radar for a couple of months but finally made the journey up the hill. An easy find was made and it appears that a young family may have discovered your cache and are taking great delight in looking after it for you. We were in awe of the mansion across the road from where we had parked the car, complete with the Winnebago, Boat and 4WD all out the front. Thanks for the cache.

Kind Regards,

D & H B-A

Found @ 3:30pm

Second time lucky. The satellites were much better today, making it an easy find in the end. TNLN.

11-Jul-06
I had a good look for this this afternoon, but due to a useless satellite layout I could only get an EPE of 15m. I looked around for half an hour, but the cache didn't jump out at me. I'll go back when the satellites are behaving.

Found 16:55, a nice easy find in a great little park, now all we ned is our own Geo-hound Big Grin

TNLN, thanks xf king.

Nice little park and an easy find, with - as always - the help of toholio.
Took nothing, left nothing.

06-Jul-06
A nice easy find in a pleasant park. A muggle with a dog in tow arrived just as theadi and I were leaving.

01-Jul-06
Nice doggie park bit quiet today - muggle free zone. It was a bit windy and cool, but I'm sure the dogs would still have like to have been out and about.
Took: Mondo, Left: Large Frog (good to have reasonable sixed caches).
Thanks, Robmc.

As my mates said. Cold and wet, but that keeps the muggles away. An easy find as it turns out, can't say the same for a later one though. Notes to come. Left snoopy and took a whistle. Had done one of the earlier versions but had no recollection of same untill I checked my Gsak notes, but now I remember.
Thanks again.

It was dark when I parked near WPT1. Aware of what may lay underfoot, I was careful to shine my torch whereever I was about to walk. I gathered the information and headed to GZ for a quick find. No swap was made. Thanks for reincarnating this cache and giving us the opportunity to log it again.

22-Jun-06
Found by Roma and Max.
There is a sense of da ja vu here, similar name and theme but different surroundings!
Container was fully exposed on arrival but not so on our departure.
We took a Birdie and left a Mondo Figurine.
Thanks xfking,
from Romax.

We found lots of puppies here today and three of them came over to see what we were doing. I found the cache before Daddy did today.

Found by caughtatwork at 10:48
With GabGab along for a few hours of caching we stopped at this cache. GabGab read the sign and told me the right numbers. Now if only I had been able to the maths. Doh!
Nevertheless GabGab spotted this one as we approached and while we were swapping (away from the cache site) three large golden retrievers bouned up. Definitely a geo-doggie friendly park.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks xf king. A nice park to start our morning of caching.

I had looked for this in it's secend V1 invocation, the 2nd time it had been muggled. Time to try again. Having found the sign and messed up my calculations, couldn't fit my answer into the co-ords, had one too many digits! Checked the clue, but it was realy no help. Had a wander around just in case I could spot it, it was amazing that I didn't as after the brain had clicked and I did the calculations correctly I soon discovered that the cache was sitting on top of where it should be and had been found by some muggles earlier in the day. TNLNSL and hid the cache back where the clue said it should be.

David.

Fourth of eighteen caches for the day in the company of Dak Emu. Once again it seemed funny to be doing this cache again. The info was soon in hand and off to the cache we went. A very quick find, due to the interesting covering that stood out like a sore thumb. Thanks Matt.

Third of fifteen finds for the day in company with acts2youthgroup. I had logged the previous version of this cache. I was pleased to find that this time it was not in a playground. Acts2YG made the find at 0830. I made no exchange. Thanks to xf king for the cache.

Thanks XF King

Fantastic little park. Co-ords fooled me at first but missing 0 should be obvious. Frog in and paddle out.

29-May-06
Found during lunchbreak with ghellard.
No dogs, no dog deposits, no muggles.
Now I just gotta get the rest of the sweet 16s.
Looks like it might be pretty easy for a muggle to find though.

27-May-06
I arrived at this park to find I had it to myself on a sunny but cool autumn afternoon, I collected the required information and headed off for a quick easy find. That was when my luck changed. With Version one of this cache, we had three attempts at retrieving the cache because of muggles, today it took three to get it back in place. After waiting for over half an hour for the three teenage boys to finish their game of footy, I decided to go do another nearby cache and then return, the second time back a man and his dog were exercising in the area of gz so I decided a cup of coffee might be a good idea. Returning for a third time nearly two hours after finding the cache there were now two small boys and their father playing footy. This time I sat on a nearby seat and waited for them to finish their game, as soon as they left the area I replaced the cache and finally headed for home
Thanks XF king, this is certainly an eventful cache for us

24-May-06
Did all the clues on this one but knew something was wrong with calculations when gz had us across road.Started at clueboard again and realised bolt clue adjustment ,re-entered co-ords and then xf king arrived in the park for maintaince.Quickly got to gz ,found the unusual see -thru style cache well hidden and did the bookwork.Put in large dancer and took water pistol, watched as xf king did some minor adjustments to the covering that concerned a few and had a good caching chat for awhile .A great hidden gem of a park with towering pines ,no one around ,dog friendly atmosphere and thanks to xf king for the cache hide !!

24-May-06
Found at 9.40pm GAFF1. Another go at this cache! Looks like we were the first to find the original in Feb 2005 according to the log book. Seems such along time ago now. Don't recall going into this park though. Thanks xf king - the co-ords were spot on. tn/ln

22-May-06
Found by Bob at 1010

I remember the earlier incarnations of this cache - I twice tried to get it just after it had been muggled, before finally managing to nail it right after it had been replaced the last time Sad. I must say I like the new location better - this park has a nice secluded feel to it and has some nice trees Smile. The new cache was an easy find - I could spot something shiny even as I approached, and the coords were spot on! I confess to being rather surprised when I opened the log book only to find an entry by me on the 1st page Surprised - it hadn't registered that the old log book was being reused Smile.

TNLN

Thanks xfking (I'm yet to get that final cache in this series - grrr)

PS Matt, the object covering the cache is rather unusual and, I think, will be attractive to any kids passing within eyesight of it (maybe to adults as well). I fear the cache may not last long unless something different is used.

22-May-06
We decided to attempt V3 today and after a quick calculation we arrived at GZ and with the coordinates being spot on the cache was easily found.
The unusual cover of the cache may be tempting to muggles of all ages and may need a makeover to camo the cache at some stage.
The doggy friendly park was worth the visit and thanks xf king for taking us to it.
TNLNSL
Regards Mr.Coffee and the "the park was so friendly I wanted to go out and buy a dog just to let him run free" Clan.

Found on 22/05/06 @ 1055 AEST. I had an appointment at Monash Uni at 1200 so was able to venture a bit further down the Monash Fwy for a nice easy find before my meeting Cool.

Unfortunately Malby the GeoHound was not able to accompany me to the find, but he was ably represented by the TBs Dufus the Dawg and Dufus Jnr who would have liked to have stayed, but there was not enough room for either of them Wink

I echo Mr Coffee and Geodes's comments about the cache cover...a 'brainy' muggle could easily notice it

Cheers xfking
