On our way to a great long weekend on the plateau, the next stop this morning for 1MinnieMoo, Fangsoki, Crew153 and myself was here. A hill beckoned, but one amongst us said it was worth it - so off we trundled. Wow - that hill isn't kidding, it just keeps on keeping on. Up, more up and when the up looked like it would stop - yup - more up. Views to the west were cool, which helped keep us motivated because ... well no guarantee of finding anything here. More up and a last bit of up and spreading out we commenced the hunt.
After a fair while we were starting to get a bit worried. We had collectively searched all the possible spots, but there was one that GPSrs liked better than others, and looked good. Deserved a more intense look. Fear of spiders aside, the "obvious" spot in it got a second?fourth better look ... and ooooooh, what is this? That looks like a lid. Yup - it was, after some patient use of sticks it revealed a well kept logbook upon which our names are now inscribed.
A short rest before venturing all that down ness.
Thanks CJ Rocks for entertaining me at this location.

I was on an Australia Day long weekend road trip with Pprime, Fangsoki and 1MinniMoo and we had targeted caches in the area which would help us to qualify for a number of challenges.
Fangsoki had been here a few years ago and he assured us that the cache would still be here so we left him sitting in the car at the bottom while we headed up the road. for the last 750m. I have been a bit of a couch potato lately and i needed a few stops along the way. finally we arrived at the search area and spread out. One particular spot seemed fit the description and location but it took some serious digging by Pprime to uncover the cache,
It is always a good feeling to uncover a cache which has not been visited for the last 3.5 years even if it is archived.

25/1/20 Find #3314
Fangsoki, PPrime, Crew153 and I were on our Dorrigo Road trip, and this was to be the third cache for all bar Fangsoki, who happened to have done this one in 2015. He parked the car down the bottom and the three of us got out and began our climb. What a hike it was! The whole way we were keeping our fingers crossed that this one would still be there, as the disappointment level after that effort would’ve potentially had us in tears! Accidentally scaring a monitor lizard up a tree, we were getting closer slowly to our destination. Then the hunting began.
We were searching for quite a while, and were beginning to feel disheartened.
We found what we were fairly certain was GZ and had done some significant poking and clearing, being mindful of the funnelweb spiders webs but were turning up nothing. Not quite willing to admit defeat we decided to try it again, and some more serious work by PPrime finally revealed what we were after. Crew153 nearly collapsed in relief, and after a short rest it was time to head back down to the car - the down ended up not being quite as bad as expected in the end.
Thanks for the cache CJ Rocks.

I knew I was due to visit the Coffs Harbour area during the weekend - so I decided to do some research and hunt for archived affairs in the area. The pickings were a bit slim - but this one sounded a bit likely.
I met up with Radnoski - who was also in the area - and had done the cache about 5 years ago. We drove to some suitable parking.
Holy honking muddy hill. Holy honking STEEP muddy hill!
So the going was very slow. I had the worst boots in the world on - a pair of cheap sneakers. And do you think they went well up the slippery hill? I don't think my regular hiking boots would have been much chop either. I found a stick that helped a bit. It was getting ridiculous and Radnoski was having trouble as well. Time to go bush. Finally the slippery mud abated and we kept heading up - carefully still.
Some excellent views are to be had of the surrounding area - and get to see a banana farm or two up close.
We kept going up and up and up. Radnoski's memory kicked in as we neared GZ and he led us along a path and then bush. Soon enough - something matching the hint was in our sights.
Radnoski got to GZ and started hunting. "Nothing here" he declared "Except for this peanut butter jar". I really should be used to the man's sense of humour by now
The cache was in pretty good condition considering. The log was somewhat damp - but still very signable. I signed the log and we took some obligatory photos - then re-hid the cache.
The trip back down was a lot quicker. We used a track I spotted on the way up - that we really should have used going up in the first place. A lot less slippery. Of course, as we came out on the flat ground, I promptly slipped over again the mud
A great little welcome walk for a cache - and all the better that it is archived and "long lost". I don't usually go look for archiveds in the "2010s" - but when one thinks about it - the cache was still over 3.5 years unfound. I won't sneeze at that.
A nice walk - some great views.. and some great company. My thanks to Randoski for accompanying me for a nil smiley. And thanks to CJ Rocks for placing the cache

Heading south again today I thought I'd call in and see what the track was like this time. Juuust dry enough so up we go. Very, very steep indeed. I think this is steepest I have driven the geowagon. Once up the top I had a long search as the co-ords I think are about 25m out. Just keep looking for the hint further uphill. TNLN Cheers from the Browngang
After a bit of rain the start of this track is slippery! Slipped the vehicle into low range for the start of the track and off I went. A short time later the wheels started slipping, and slipping, and slipping, until I had slid backwards into an old loose stump. An hour later the stump was dug out by hand and I didn't think I could even walk up there, so I packed up my toys and went home. Thanks anyway. Cheers from the Browngang.
Found at 3.30pm GAFF1. So glad that we could take the Patrol up as we wouldn't like to walk up another steep hill - already did a couple this weekend and the legs are getting a bit washed out!
When we were at the top we could see a banana plantation house just a few metres away!!
Managed to turn around with out rolling the 4wd and then a slow trip down.
Thanks CJ Rocks - there were some views, but only on the way down.

Wow! What a hike up (and I mean UP) to this one. Had to do it this time as I'm sure that next time we are down this way it will be too hot for a climb like this and I'll be that much older. Ha ha. Clambered around for some time as GZ was at zero metres elsewhere so took me about 20 minutes before I located the right spot. Took some photos that I will upload when we get home. Lovely views. Left: blood and a bouncy ball and Took: disc NOW! ALL I have to do is get back down without slipping and/or breaking anything....

High is right on the money. The track seemed to go up and up and up. It took me 50 minutes from leaving the car while stopping ALLOT to catch my breath and stop to take a few pictures, find the cache and return back to the car. TFTC. TNLN. SL.
Wow nice view. Banana farm dogs greeted me on the way up the hill.
Saw something out of place, lifted it and the cache was found. TFTC
Took nothing and left soccerball keyring. (World Cup final is on in a few days)

Enjoyed this one - steepish walk. - 3 cattle grids if you count the first as you turn off - thanks
Found: WOW we must be a couple of crazy Canadians to do this climb on a hot day. Quite the challenge for us white haired folks. The track is very deeply rutted from the recent rains. Nice view from above the banana plantation. Glad we found the cache as we would not want to do the climb a second time.
After my father, Hunters&Collecters, tried to drive to this one in August, I just HAD to have a look since I was in the area. I now know that he is crazy. Directions to the wooden bridge we perfect, although I counted 3 cattle grids. The steep walk took me about 20 minutes, followed by about 10 minutes searching for the cache. I was pleased the encrypted clue was useful - I don't think I would have found the cache without it, as my gizmo was only giving about 10m accuracy due to the tree cover. Great views from near GZ, although the dust storm that had rolled in that morning reduced visibility to about 2km. Part of me was tempted to continue on up the hill, but another part of me, the sensible part, decided to just slide back down the hill. Thanks CJ Rocks for showing me another part of the Coffs area that I wouldn't have discovered if not for caching. TNLN.

Extremely hard climb, but the view is worth it!! Hide could have been a bit easier once at the top, as I don't think there would be a big chance of it being muggled!!!!! Took magnetic note clip, left finger puppet monster.
A hot day and a very steep trek, especially difficult carrying child in backpack! Awesome view and well worth it. Took travel bug and red dinosaur. Left fluffy chicken and red devil. TFTC.
This is one cache where you need to read the instructions and follow to the letter. I made the mistake of attempting to drive the very steep and heavily rutted track leading up from the timber bridge mentioned. My faithfull 1992 80 series Landcruiser slowly clawed it's way up and up and up in great style. However being alone and encountering some very severe challengers (one of which almost had me "hung-up") I eventually made the wise decision to drive no further when approx 600 metres from GZ. Left the Cruiser parked and decided to check the track ahead. The extremely steep gradient had me quite short of breath and knowing that I had to turn the Cruiser around somehow and negotiate the downhill ruts, I decided (wisely I believe) to call it a day and admit failure.
ADVICE TO FUTURE GEO-CACHERS. Do yourself a favour and use foot power as recommended.

I remember very well trying to grab this cache one day a couple of years ago
Back then it was raining, the track was slippery and muddy underfoot and nearing the cache the thunder and lightning began accompanied by torrential rain.
I got back to the car almost in the dark, cacheless and soaked from head to toe
So today's fine weather gave me hope of an easy cache chase this time around, although I had noticed some thunderheads developing over in the west [:o]
The track was dry. Yah!!
But at the edge of the bananas I was met by a couple of the farmers dogs, who barked at me continuously until I could scramble up the trail and got far enough away for their liking from their territory.
Very well behaved dogs they are too, they never set a paw outside of the three strand fence. Maybe they know it's electrified
Finally I was back at GZ. The views were gorgeous today.
There was no sign of the cache again in the first spot that fitted the clue
Then my search was interrupted as a couple of infernal combustion muggles charged on past up the hill in a cloud of dust and blue smoke
Finally I spotted another possibility through the overgrowth. At last VICTORY was mine
Fitness is mine too after strolling that hill for a second time [^]

Drove straight to it love the view. we did not take any thing but left a small koala.
A walk in like the Kokoda Trail - very slippery red clay and plenty of leechs. Most appropiate on Anzac Day. A local on a motorbike attempted to climb the track past us but promptly fell off and man and machine slid to the bottom of the hill. I don't think this cache is likly to be muggled. many thanks
That was one tough walk, think the difficulty rating should be a little higher. Took us 45 minutes to find the cache. Should have only taken 15 minutes. I pointed out GZ to geo-hubby who said, 'Nuh, won't be there'. So we went further up the hill, searching, searching. We were about to call it quits as rain was threatening and a dental appointment was waiting. On way down, I looked back and decided I'd go and check my original guess myself - bingo! 'rich' is not going to live this one down soon.
Actually we found it on Jan 1 2008, but the geocache website hasn't caught up with the change of year yet.
This cache has been on our 'to do' list for a while. Today we felt like some exercise. Tried to drive up the steep slope, but way too slippery. So parked down the bottom and walked up. A good walk, and yes the views are worth it.
Saw a goanna climbing a tree at the lookout spot.
Found the cache after a bit of searching (our GPS kept changing it's mind about how close we were to the coordinates).
Also found a leech at the cache site.
Took nail polish, clippers and tattoos. Left plastic toys and pokemon card.
Great way to spend the morning, dragging 3 kids and a small puppy up a really steep hill. [^] Loved it!
Cheers, The HPs

What a walk, I think that Terrain 3 is a bit of an understatement. We really had trouble locating the cache and left the clues in the car. There was no way I was dragging the Geokids up here without a "Find" so after 45 minutes one of the gang bolted back down to phone the clues through. Once decrypted it was easy. I'm sure we had looked a few time there before getting serious. Great cache, very tough, very memorable

Wow ! Quite a climb up to GZ [:o]
Even more fun today as the track was wet from rain. Great views from up above the 'nanas
I too looked everywhere 'til fading daylight and heavy rain set me sliding back down the hill

This was certainly a challenge. Not an easy walk by any means. Absolute fabulous views. Was worth the hike for this any way. Retti and I were up there for about an hour looking for this cache but unfortunately we did not succeed. We also didn't want to give up, but finally we did. This is my 4th cache and a bit of a blow not to find. Need good sturdy footwear for this one. Lots of fun and well worth the hike for the views.
What a climb to get to this location....defintely no walk in the park! Shaz and I decided we were not going home until we found the cache...noone does that kind of walk without a reward. Unfortunately we looked and looked and looked but could not find. GPS kept showing us we were right on it but we never did find. Ended up looking in any possible location that fitted the clues but still no luck. Did check out the views which were breathtaking, but left empty handed.
Did a great mountain bike ride from Dorrigo to Boambee (62km) via bush trails found this one at the last downhill
