Found My Way Without a GPS on my way elsewhere.
I did not know the cache was archived until logging the find.
The clues were collected many months ago over 2 visits.
Confirmed the final GZ with Google Earth and today was a muggle free day to find the cache.
Thanks to ds-fifty for the cache and the revision of lessons long forgotten.

All done...

25-Sep-09
I have been working on this one for a while. I found WP's 1 & 2 on my last visit but it was too far on foot that day to attempt GZ.
This morning I had a car and off to GZ which took a bit of finding I'll tell you. What a top hide!
However I'm glad the weather was poor and I had the place to myself.
I really liked this multi but glad to get it done.
Thanks DS-Fifty.

27-May-09
Loved the location, but ended without finding WP 1 with wet feet...
Will be back.

Finally come back and found the cache at night time with torch... Thanks ds-fifty for give me another hint. SL. Thanks ds-fifty for organising the cache and hunt.

Come back this morning and still no luck for me. Thanks.

Search everywhere - assume it is gone due to clean up the garden - would be lovely if you can check please. Thanks.

Like most people I solved the puzzle some time ago, and have been there a few times but there's usually issues with muggles.

We were heading home from netball and I decided today was the day.

Just as we were about to get out of the car a mother and angel muggle turned up and headed straight toward GZ.

The caching gods must have been smiling on us as it then started to rain and being made of lessor stuff they headed off home.

When the rain eased a bit off we went and the cache was quickly in hand.

Surely we looked there at least once.

Finally!!!
I stopped past on my way into town for the northern lights, and some caching. Unfortunatly at that stage it was just before 7, so there was still muggles about
Returned Just after 10pm on my way home, and had the place to myself. Luckily i had the mini torch in the car!

I can see why i didn't find it last time. Doing it at night, with the torch helped a lot. It took me longer to retrieve, than to find in the end, with the help of some impromptu tools.

We searched for it today but couldn't find it.

Looked in all the likely spots and couldn't locate it.

Will put on watchlist.

Having solved the equation a long time ago, and trying here once only to be muggled out, i returned this morning as the first stop of a day of caching with uncle posspet. Given that he had found this one before, it should have been straight forward

after searching all the spots, including where posspet remembered it being, we left without any luck

shall return

I'd only collected the first equation, but Miss Jane had both & was keen to finish this one off, being a "numbers" kinda girl Smile. After all, it is about the numbers... or the equations.. or something like that.

The calculated GZ looked dubiously distant, but made sense as we arrived. Great hiding spot, though I wasn't particularly keen on sticking my arm in there Red Face.

Simultaneously logged the find while rescuing the Kanga Crusader TB.

Thanks DS-50!

solved the puzzle, but thought I had it wrong as it was pointing in what I thought was the wrong place. however saw the location and the cache was in hand. Caching with Winterdragon.

I was going to get this one before I left town if it was the last thing i did!
Found the clues easily, but alas, biggo didn't do year 12 maths (ironic for a teacher, i know!). But...A pub lunch 8 was on the cards, so i took the clues, hoping for a phone a friend. Gary from Featherwaite offered and we come up trumps, or so i thought until i rocked up at a lone tree in the parklands. wrong co-ordinates!!! Anwyay, i decided to give it another go on Excel on the Ipaq and Voila!!
Grabbed the cache on the way back to The Mount!
Great cache DS-Fifty! Loved It!
Cheers, Biggo

Found WP1 a few months back, when rain was still a novelty, but it stopped us from heading on to WP2 and completing the cache.

Every other time I've been nearby caching, it's been too dark, and who wants to wander around the South Parklands at night [?] unless you've got a handgun Razz. Plus, the walk today was perfect; sun shining but a crisp winter feel to the air.

Take one: I came I found first waypoint when to waypoint 2 and workers in progress so I went home,
Take two: I had to revisit Wpt1 again because I lost 1st Question but running late for lunch so I left it for another day.
Take Three: guess? yep lost it again, this time I photograghed the question, drove not walked to Wp2 found it after a big dance went home and forgot about it and then saw it on the camera did the calculations and 2 months after found the cache.
The hint did not help with the end point Sad but I did find it.
Took coin and left nothing
Thanks ds-50

Found on way home from golf day in the hills, and this was on the way!!
Must admit, I started this when it 1st came out, almost 12 months agao, even ran into ds-fifty at the 1st wp back then! A further admission has me revealing that I had help with the equations...Red Face Thanks Andrew.
A nice hide, and a frustrating time, every time I looked at the equations!

With location 1 being just 15min from work, you'd think a quick stroll at lunch time would have me well on my way... I think it was my 8th quick lunchtime stroll that delivered success, and of course when I found it I could't work out how I'd missed it the first time. Faith restored and pride on the mend, I recruited an apprentice on the next available lunch time and quickly found WP2 (nice hide). Success with the final location a few days later, simple really! And I predict my apprentice will have his own GPS within 2 weeks.
TNLNincreased fitness.

Started this with the plan to do just the first WP. Got excited so found WP2 and so after the Cheshire Cat taught Alice how to solve maths problems, then we headed to the cache. Some difficulty in finding it, but it was where we first thought of looking in the end.

TFTC.

Mr calculated the co-ords for this a long time ago and we previously had a DNF - so we returned to the scene of the crime today - GPS gave us a different place to look which ended up wrong - in the end the cache was clearly visible from some distance and we replaced it where we found it (with some extra cover) but we are not sure if it is where it should be - maybe it should be checked. Visited WP1 in the middle of a short, cold rain spat. WP2 soon ...

13-Feb-07
Found this one eventually, scrawling my near-forgotten maths on my arm as I walked. Luckily it led me in the right direction. But forgetting to carry the numbers correctly had me in trouble for a bit. When you get a waypoint in the middle of a lwan you start thinking something is wrong Smile, oh well, I worked it out, and after a long sit on a rock I eventually found it when the park cleared. (Felt a bit dumb, too). TFTC. TNLN.

This has taken me about six months to complete, but I was always slow at algebra. Thanks ds-fifty.

27-Jan-07
Found on an early morning ride. Having to solve a simultaneous equation got the grey matter working overtime. Thanks for the trip down memory lane and for rminding me way I loved school so much Razz.

06-Jan-07
Have had this one solved for quite a while but lacked an opportunity to go for the final walk.
Today was the day and rather than taking the easy option of driving, we started back at GZ and got some exercise, picking up 'drive by' on the way.
Must admit the final location was a little unexpected and the maths was doubted on the way but no errors had been made.

Took Geocoin
Had no swaps with us.

Enjoyed holiday get together with good friends MustardKeenAs in park near the start. After tea embarked on the journey, finding WP1 and WP2 after a short look - nice hides Cool. Did the maths (gee its over 25 yrs since I did these in Yr10) and realised WP3 would be a long way from the starting point - given little calumphers were getting tired drove to WP3.
GPSr pointed us straight to it.
Dropped off TB Artturi.
Left Cat took Little Bear.
TFTC DS-Fifty.

26-Dec-06
Found with Calumphing-four whilst the mini cachers searched and "pretended to play" but I figure it was more the other way around.
Found it in the obvious spot after first doubting our maths.
Took marble, left worm. Also retrieved the TB because he just about filled the container!

19-Dec-06
Three attempts on this one. All on the bike. First two stages were no problem, apart from morning bike/walker rush hour. Got Mr Wibble to do the maths and then rode to the final GZ a couple of days later... no luck.
AstroAdvice (TM) confirmed I was looking in the right spot but maybe hadn't looked hard enough.
Looked harder today. Still took ages to find. Found a lot of snails first.
TNLNSL, thanks DS-fifty - found some ripper new bike tracks!

09-Dec-06
Pedalled our bikes to this one plus a few other surrounding ones. Had to call home for a bit of help on the calcs but all done and dusted and luckily the heat kept the muggles away from GZ so no problem in the end.
Thanks.

09-Dec-06
Nice pair of hides of the clues. The final was a bit further than I thought it would be, but a good spot.
Strained the grey matter a bit.
Thanks, Robmc.

Stinking hot and out of fun, still not able to complete this one.

08-Dec-06
Found site 1 on the way into the city for a meeting, site 2 on the way back. Both were clever hides. Did the calculations overnight, and returned this morning for the cache find. Cache container was at fingertip access only - almost accidentally pushed it beyond reach. Glad, too, that no-one else was around! Left a golf ball. Thanks for the cache ds-fifty.

14-Nov-06
It's not over a km one way if you go back and get the car each time! I must say it's an unfortunate reflection on our city when I didn't feel safe wandering the parklands on my own at 2 in the afternoon. But I survived, and found the cache. TNLN TFTC (I would say thanks for the walk, but I drove!)

05-Oct-06
Did my calculating and managed to find the cache without any problem. Good final location. TNLN. Thanks for the cache.

#1 found the other day, #2 today. Now to brush up on my maths. I'll be back next week for the scalp. Nice hides - I was expecting some similarities - NOPE!

04-Sep-06
Dropped by to deposit the Key to the City... Cache is in good shape.

10-Aug-06
Found on the way home from work. This was a great teaser for the brain but then there is always Google!

07-Aug-06
A great cache to tackle on a sunny Sunday afternoon on a bike (or even a unicycle!). Except when there are muggles everywhere at the final location Sad

Never mind, there was nobody around at 8pm on a Monday night so it was a quick and easy find. Loved the algebra, it wasn't even shonkylogic, but was pretty close! Smile.

01-Aug-06
At home with GREEN under my belt this is the next one to be crushed. Calculations given a result now just to mount the search.

01-Aug-06
Well, I got both sets of formula! I'm not logging a DNF...YET as I have to get the grey matter to flashback 25 years and pull out an old algebra book! [B)]

Found the first two waypoints along with Freddo, kggy and Voogoofish several weeks ago, but the final location didn’t work for me. Discussions later revealed that we had been in the correct spot, but just didn’t look hard enough Red Face. This time it was too easy, as the cache was lying in the open. I’m surprised that it was still there. It’s well hidden again now, though Wink TNLN

27-Jun-06
Found WP2 with the pre edited log from the previous finder. Now to get the head working at home to calculate the final location.

26-Jun-06
Found the first point easily but the 2nd was a bit harder.
Was just about to give up for the day when I spotted a likely object and remembering a point in another multi, there it was, not quite as bad as the other one.
I like this type, as I liked Maths at school.Have had an idea for a cache similar to this one for a while but need to fix up 'The Bower Train' first.

Good one ds-fifty[does your caching name give some idea of your age?,as I am dis-trn-fifty].

Found WP1 OK but then there were workers about 3m away from WP2 position so did not attempt further. I hope that in some way their work hasn't disturbed that location. Should have actually just asked them and they most probably would have found it in their works. Try again another day.

19-Jun-06
I had to make a trip to the home brew shop at unly during lunch, so on the way back i met posspet wondering around the parklands.

We completed the first step, then shifted off towards the next. as we drew closer the council workers were right where we needed to be.

Shall return another day, hopefully with more luck

16-Jun-06
Well I certainly chipped away at this one to get it done.
My third visit to the area. The second time I visited the second waypoint I found it in about 30 seconds. Amazing how you can miss these things the first time round.
With both part completed and worked out I went in for the find as the sun was setting. Glad I picked that time as no one was around. Soon had the cache in hand and the log signed.
Cheers SA ParrotHead

11-Jun-06
Yes, a very clever cache. When I looked at the final coords in Ozi, the first thing I did was recheck my calculations. No need to though, everything was done correctly so we headed down today to grab it. Nice little hidey hole too, lucky all the mugglets were off enjoying the long weekend elsewhere. Took the Clipsal 500 keyring, left a pewter bookmark. Thanks ds-fifty.

10-Jun-06
Went for a look at this cache this afternoon. Eventually found both clues, they are not that deviously hidden, but sneaky all the same. With light fading and a chilly wind setting in, decided to do the math at home and grab the cache on our next trip into town.

02-Jun-06
Well I found the first waypoint easily enough.
However the second waypoint had me beaten.
Spent some time searching as darkness fell.
Had to give in the end and will try another day.

30-May-06
Found in a jiffy after dark. The confidence to search the location properly produced the results.

Strange. No bug in residence.

28-May-06
Met Nibs and Ausee yesterday and did my maths on the path. I have been watching council workers all week rip up those paths. Double checked the maths in the car. Seemed to be a logical answer.

Went to our organizing meeting, and then tried for the cache this morning. Morning became afternoon, and I went away empty handed. Will try again after I recheck the math.

27-May-06
Dont think I would wanna do this at night either Twisted clue one check, clue two check.... Final loc... have we got it right Red Face... sweet! Took: snap glowie (come in handy if you ever come fishing with me DS) & turtle, left: Kanga keyring, fishing float & something else that I've forgotten now! Met Nibs (my favorite cache is still the "gravitron" so it was good to meet them) at point 2. SL.

27-May-06
Found the clues ok,even met fellow cachers 'Nibs'on the way. The maths took a bit of thinking, wasnt sure if we were correct, the only way to find out was give it a try. bingo we were right. Took bottle opener and geocoin, left turtle and a penguin. An excellant cache DS-fifty, well done

27-May-06
Solved equations but then ran out of light!! will come back another day.

26-May-06
I found it much easier to locate the second clue without a horde of workers camped around it!Razz
But I was not alone again today as I ran into Unka Dave nearby point 2 and we combined forces to crosscheck our math (which we needed to do badlyRed Face) and then search for the final location, which was extremely well concealedTwisted
I think between us we looked at it about 5 times before it was finally spotted!

Added a clipsal keyring and took a globe thingy.
We also swapped bugs & geocoins. Was good put another face to a geocacher and even better to have some assistance in this well thought-out cache.

Cheers DS, it was funBig Grin

26-May-06
Found with four-fun, and did I need his help in checking the maths? Yes, it had been years (25+) since I had last done this. Very mentally stimulating. Took - Computer T and TMUK's Iowa Geocoin. Left - Bottle opener & water bomb balloons. Dropped off TB Hooter Head. TFTC

25-May-06
All waypoints are in place. Wink I'm glad to see they're fixing that path though!

25-May-06
Found at 19:10. A great hunt spread over three trips. The first trip, at 22:00, in the freezing cold, and risking life and limb by wandering the South Parklands at night, I couldn't even find waypoint 1, although I actually looked right there and didn't see it. Second trip, this afternoon, I found the intermediate waypoints easily enough, but got to the final location and couldn't search due to muggles (it was 3pm). Called Astro to confirm my sums, which I had right, and while sitting 15m away talking to Astro I actually picked the hiding spot. Came back tonight and grabbed the cache. No swap.
Great cache ds-fifty, especially for a first cache. I look forward to more.

24-May-06
Found the clue at start location no problems but then came up empty handed at the second.
Spent quite a while searching the few possible spots I could find but I think the actual location may have been bulldozed away this morning. After speaking with a guy who was working nearby I discovered that they are laying new pathways around the area, and dug up the original that morningTwisted If it was within about a meter of it it is certainly gone!!
Will keep watching, Cheers.

23-May-06
Looked for a good 1/2 hour, but couldn't even find the clue at the first WP. I suppose I'll be back.

23-May-06

I reminisced about teaching year 10 maths in the triple block twice while doing this cache tonight. The fingers could barely write the clues down at each waypoint – let alone get the pen to work on the damp paper. Not a sole to be seen in the park lands – but plenty of homeless type sounds coming from darkish spooky corners. Lucky my arrow did not point there.

Congrats on an awesome first cache DS-50. [^][^] I note this is your first cache after 50 finds – it sure shows your experience. All waypoints absolutely spot on, and the concept mature for a cache #1. Very cool. Honoured to be FTF on this cache at 22:05 hrs. Big Grin

I left a glow stick, took the button cell and I will move the Wibble evil micro geocoin on again.

Thanks DS, clear skies, TeamAstro.
